THE NEW CHAPTERRRR OMG!!!! i’m that anon who isn’t on tumblr much and wants moc as a physical book on my shelf if you remember (if not das aight you’re basically a celebrity here 😩) and after so long i decided hmm lemme check if there’s an update i forgot about this app and BOOM posted 1 hour ago !! timing is impeccable my soul knows and she’s just as excited for updates.

anyways back to thoughts because THERES SO MANY!!! so first things first i for one love love LOVE characters that aren’t conventionally the perfect person who makes no mistakes and would do anything the reader wants. NO. i like grey morals 🤩 i like TROUBLE i like the ones who do things that GET THEM in trouble. make mistakes baddie go crazy get in trouble purrrr.

i’m loving the relationship with mc and jongho/mingi they’re bffs in the making next chapter we’re gonna see them with matching bffs necklaces and bracelets that have magnets and lock into each other i just know it 😩

and the ending bit with saaaaannnnn like ik he says don’t doubt my love and i would never san i would never promise pinky swear….

but i can see exactly why mc feels that way and like word i would too if i was not the reader i feel so bad for her

but now for the star of the show, the one person who i’m sure could beat all of the crew one by one no sweat. the one who could eat them all up without so much as lifting a finger. the one who hongjoong wishes he was cause he gets the respect that he dreams of….. LUCA THE BADDIE

anyways i’m not the best at conveying emotions in writing (you do you have such a talent at this and you’re an amazing writer i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again and again every time) but this was such a good read and i always know i’ll enjoy what you write because even a short phrase has so much talent and poetic notions to it - I HOPE YOU KNOW THIS!! THAT YOURE AN AMAZING WRITER - you’ve got bragging rights go crazy no need to be humble lawl

Ofc she loves Billy and only Billy but that doesn’t stop the vultures from trying to swoop in when he isn’t by her side.

Dude can’t even look away for a second. He loves when she visits him at work but god does he hate when other dudes start gawking at her in a swimsuit. She’ll always shower him in love and reassurance tho, even if she doesn’t stop him from wrapping a possessive arm around her and glaring from across the room. Scary dog privileges.

hear me out: billy's s/o (you) is fucking astronomically gorgeous. but you don't know it. you don't think of yourself that way which makes the gawking even more unreal. like so nonchalantly beautiful it's insane.

everyone is looking is you when you enter a room, but where do you sit every time? with billy. who's taking you to and from school? billy. and you can bet your ass that he's taking his lunch break with you inside, simply so he can make sure the assholes at the pool see him with you. his hand is on your leg the entire time you're eating lunch, even if the two of you are alone.

but he knows he's yours. he knows that your his. every time you slip your arm under his jacket to hold onto his back. when you push a curl behind his ear or offer to drive max somewhere when he's been working and needs a break.

also billy's death stare is good enough to kill. i'm not joking. one look and that's all it takes.

hii!! i dont have a bookshelf but i do have some books on my desk (as below) but unfortunately the rest (the majority) of them are just. in piles on the floor or crammed into a cupboard (also below that one is so bad its worse than it looks...) my gio's room copy is the penguin modern classics!! i have a hardback copy too which you can see in the first picture but my paperback copy is the precious one i love her xx

might be a lil nsfw to say but I can imagine a devoted gf, super in love with him and accepting of even his really bad qualities, would actually be kind of…into him getting a lil violent with other people. (As long as he doesn’t get that hurt ofc)

ESPECIALLY if he’s defending their honor. Ik you haven’t seen euphoria but the character I was talking about before gets used by lots of dudes, even the ones who’ve never held a conversation with her will call her easy and all those mean slut-shaming names.

So the thought of Billy wailing on one of those guys and his loving gf watches in shock but kinda…waits a little before pulling him off. Reprimands him only a lil bit and ends up kissing his face off bc of how hot sweet it is to have someone defending her honor.

no i can totally see what you mean. billy would be a very protective partner, and you’d be able to take full advantage of his scary dog privileges whether or not you need them.

think about him coming home and he tells you what happened and he’s a little bruised and you just cut him off—slamming your lips against his. and it’s so abrupt that you make him blush. and you can’t explain it, but him willing to defend you when you’re not around means the world, and he deserves to be kissed silly.

and he also does it because he knows those assholes would say shit to other people, and he can’t have that.

i also think once he figures out you think it’s hot when he gets like that sometimes, he’s totally gonna tease you about it. “kiss it better for me, yeah baby?”

Jo, feel free to save and answer this ask whenever you have the time, but I love your writing style so much and I'm curious to know what your favorite books are? I used to be such an avid reader as a kid, but I find it so hard as an adult to find books that really hook me. It's like I need something more enjoyable than Faulkner but not anywhere near as formulaic as Nicholas Sparks, but those are the type of books that fill up many recommendation lists!

I love a nice, long novel that follows a character and their development over timen (can you tell why I like your work?). Some of my favorites are East of Eden, Vanity Fair, and I Know This Much Is True.

What have you read that you couldn't put down?

I will admit to being a huge fan of young adult lit, despite being 33. A group of my friends and I go to YALLFest every fall to shout at our favorite authors. Some of my favorites from this category are Taherah Mafi (specifically her stand-alones "An Emotion of Great Delight" and "A Very Large Expanse of Sea"), Libba Bray (The Diviner's Series!!!! The Gemma Doyle Trilogy!!!!), Leigh Bardugo (specifically the Six of Crows duology and the Ninth House series), Sarah Dessen (though I'll admit this is mostly out of loyalty and nostalgia at this point and I think if I read her books fresh as an adult i would not love them like i did growing up), Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles!!!!!!!!!! but another that idk if i would love if i read them NOW instead of at 20), and E. Lockheart (WE WERE LIARS!!!!!).

As far as fiction meant for real adults lol I haven't been a fan of any of her books since the early 2010s but Jodi Picoult was really formative when I was a teenager and is honestly the reason I went for a writing degree. I thought I'd be her when I grew up (haaaa). I really liked Sara Gruen (EXCEPT for the one about monkeys WHO LET HER WRITE THAT), Tara Conklin, Kevin Brockmeier, Margaret Atwood (i once tripled the page assignment for a paper on Handmaid's Tale about a decade before it was a show and got a B for going over the page limit >:( true story). I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Brunonia Barry - can't recommend The Lace Reader or The Map of True Places enough!

Ok, for my ults - in the YA category it's Maggie Stiefvater (Raven King series, again - not sure how this will read as an adult person but I read them first in my early 20s and I was DEEPLY attached and she's one of the smartest, most wonderful people and I've met her several times and gone to her writing seminars and she's just..... a god tier human and great writer).

For adult fiction ult... N.K. Jemisen. I named the Professor in MFFMHH after her!!!! Nora is like........ literally a genius in our generation. Her trilogy The Broken Earth Trilogy fucked up my brain so bad I'll never recover (and it's also the key inspo for This is a Love Song, my WIP! It's technically a crossover of parts of the world from this series, plus bangtan lmao). It's a GUTTING analogy of colonization, racism, slavery, oppression... hidden behind an almost sci-fi/apocalyptic backdrop. It is SERIOUSLY so so so so so so so good but it will break your brain and fuck you up.

OOO ALRIGHT! so, eurynomos (coward's plight) is the section dedicated to zam in this AU.

there are several quotes/pierces that i actually went out of my way to find to add for him, since usually i just kind of search through a specific kind of vibe and add stuff when it stands out. but for example, these i knew i needed to have for his section.

throughout this whole AU, zam has a theme of being the one to betray people out of fear, learning that its become expected of him and instead of trying to change it, he keeps doing it. yet, so much of his side is of being the one betrayed, of being the hurt one.

as well, there's themes of a dead friend / long-gone lover, somebody who may as well have been gone for years, who he's certain can't come back. its in direct contrast to the "palioxis" section, which is so full of hopeful desire for somebody who isn't quite gone but should be to return.

the concept of running away and leaving an environment where you aren't thriving or living well is also very. there. which is also just such a major thing in the way i think about him for this au. he is running, running, constantly running away from everybody and everything that scares him while simultaneously wearing his heart on his sleeve.

the "i once begged someone to love me" quote is there because of the. transition period? between the purpose of this board (which is highlighting zam in the team awesome era of the story) and what becomes of him later on when he joins eclipse.
