The “why can’t you be normal” hits so close to home…my parents haven’t said those exact words to me(at least not that I can remember),but they’ve said stuff akin to it along with comparing me to other kids growing up.
Along with yelling at me and berating/shaming me about my neurodivergent quirks/behaviors and using the belt on me as “discipline” whenever I acted out or made a bad grade.(not to mention all the bullying i experienced all throughout elementary through highschool.)
Even my teachers berated me/shamed too including my special ed teachers…And my parents still berate me even as an adult. My whole life I’ve felt out of place and like I’ll never be understood by anyone, wishing that I could just be normal like everyone else..
To see ppl victim blaming Toga and saying that she “deserved” to be abused or saying that her backstory is “cringey and melodramatic”(as if this type of stuff doesn’t happen to ppl in real life)with absolutely zero empathy despite seeing her cry as a little girl in the flashback is just deplorable..I hope those ppl never ever have or encounter kids(or adults)who’re neurodivergent/have mental health disorders, or who’re queer(nor should they have any kids PERIOD) .
They could never make me hate you Himiko Toga..

Lionheart Academy (book 2): Omitting You by T. Ashleigh
Rhys: I’ve loved him since before I understood what love meant. My best friend, my secret keeper, my defender. The boy with the glasses and quiet temperament. The guy with the sweetest smile, who has the dirtiest mouth. The man who owns me. Mind, body, and soul. I’m ready for the world to know that he’s mine. To love him out loud. The problem? Winston isn’t ready. And I’m not sure he ever will be. Loving Winston was never optional for me. I want to be his everything, instead, I feel as though I’m disposable to him. After all, how could I not be when I’m his dirty little secret?
Winston: Being a Connley comes with certain expectations. Go to school, take over the family business, marry a woman, and have two point five kids. So, imagine how life would be if the prodigal son turned out gay? I don’t want to cause a rift in my family. So instead, I grit my teeth and plaster on a fake smile to avoid dealing with the bullshit. The problem? I’m completely, unbelievably, devastatingly in love with Rhys Evander. I know I need to stop hiding. I need to own who I am. It’s not fair to Rhys for me to keep him on the sidelines, yet fear keeps me paralyzed. I just hope I have the guts to follow my heart before it’s too late. Because losing Rhys is never going to be an option for me.
*Omitting You is the second book in The Lionheart Academy interconnecting series. It can be read as a standalone. It's a full length, new adult high school novel with material that may be difficult for some readers. It’s recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations. Please read trigger warnings before proceeding.*

My Review: 5/5 Stars
I am loving this series! Rhys and Winston's story was so good. This is a great best friends to lovers trope, and I couldn't put it down. Rhys and Winston have been inseparable since they were eight years old. It is no surprise that has the years pass by that their feelings for one another morph from best friends to something more. But neither know how the other truly feels and both are terrified of jeopardizing their friendship in any way. As they start the summer interning for their dads hotels, they finally have a moment that changes their relationship forever. Finally, these two are together and know how the other feels, but there are complications. The main one being Winston. He isn't ready to tell everyone about their relationship yet. Especially his family. He wants time to sort it out and figure out a way to tell everyone without everything changing around them. And Rhys understands and is patient. Until it starts to feel like maybe it just won't ever happen. These two are such a strong pair and it's heartbreaking to see them have to struggle to find the balance in their relationship and the secrets dragging them down. But in the end they'll have to decide how much they are willing to sacrifice to be with one another. Loved this story! This has been such a fun series so far and I cannot wait for the next book! Have to know what is going on with that last pair and I definitely want to see more of all the couples we've seen so far in the eyes of someone else.

to recap:
the 10-1 game to edmonton near the end of the season was heartbreaking to thom
only bested by the "traumatising" tampa bay 8-0 game early in the season, after which he got sent down a little while after
"shout out pat brisson" and he did. twice!
thom spoke about knowing connor bedard through their mutual friend kent johnson and some nhlpa events at hte beginning of the year, there's a whole little section with them talking about the heartbreaker celly that bedard has done
the michigan student section (children of yost) is certified Crazy by bords, and he thinks its insane that people can find other teams' ex girlfriends or tinder profiles, etc to chirp them for it
he went golfing in south carolina early in the off-season, and when the host said "that's such a white thing to do", his response was "oh, i know"
praised boko imama, said he's a different beast
talked about how he loved to chirp at michigan, but doesn't do as much now, in the professional leagues
he's never technically been in a nhl or ahl fight, but does provide some insight into how he chooses a guy to grab onto during scrums (doesn't pick the shortest guy all the time, but also says 'oh shit' if he grabs a big guy)
there's something about the squid game tv show and biscuits? they're making a joke but they're laughing over it, so it's unclear to me what they were trying to convey. maybe that thom is soft like dalgona candy 💀
said that the title of his book would be "bwater" which is a play on his last name (de l'eau in french is "of water" so bordeleau is similar). this is also when he raises his glass all fancy
hates tom holland's spiderman because he's a big iron man fan and he feels like people are connecting the two characters too much now
legitimately goes on a rant about how iron man is one of the best mcu characters, with power to rival all the reality-breaking characters, and also says it's not tony's fault for creating ultron
would want gabriel macht from suits to play him in a movie (although he refers to macht as "the guy who played harvey spector")

I just think it’s wack that you only care about Israeli civilians. Yes their lives mattered. But instead of focusing on the real reason why they died, ie, the tremendously irresponsible government of Israel and their bloodthirsty colonialist mission, you focus on “”””antisemitism””””” where there really is none. I’m sure there’s like two (2) antisemitic pro Palestinians. The vast majority of us are normal people who want peace and freedom, and for Israel to stop killing people. And for Israeli innocents to stop dying too. Some of us are even Jews who finally woke up. Sincerely, a Jew who’s tired of colonisation being done in our name
So, I wasn't going to reply to this bc. LOL. Don't feed the troll.
But I'm currently hearing explosions in the background so I was like. Oh well.
Tumblr media
Let's unpack it.
I just think it’s wack that you only care about Israeli civilians.
I mean. Y'know. אם אין אני לי מי לי? (Clearly not you).
Wow. I'm shocked. How dare I, an Israeli civilian with friends and family who happens to also be, by coincidence, Israeli civilians, dare care about such vile creatures? (Looking outside of the window) (Remember that I can't, bc it's blocked to prevent shattering by airwaves and sharpanels). Must be a day that ends with a y!
Yes their lives mattered.
I feel like there's a "but" coming.
But instead of focusing on the real reason why they died,
Are we still talking Israeli citisens? BC the current causes of death are missiles, gunshots and stabbing.
ie, the tremendously irresponsible government of Israel and their bloodthirsty colonialist mission,
Funny, you keep using that word. I don't think you know what that means.
Also, having strong opinion about a remote teritory which you aren't a citizen of? Tell me more about colonialism.
you focus on “”””antisemitism””””” where there really is none.
laughing out so hard I actually cry. Like, seriously?
Maybe you, personally, haven't met antisemism (or more likely, were unable to detact it). THAT WAS NOT THE CASE FOR THE VICE MAJORITY OF JEWS.
From vandalism and verbal harassment to physical harassment, beatdowns, and at least on one case - death.
[Funny enough, this article says "Alnaji’s and Kessler’s lives forever changed on Nov. 5 at a pro-Palestinian rally at Westlake and Thousand Oaks boulevards in Thousand Oaks." Well yes. Kessler's life ENDED. His poor killer may face prison. Poor man.
This is antisemic.]
Sorry, but if your "peace and freedom" refers to the myth of "The Happy Dhimi", you have a problem.
Some examples, though:
This is the official logo of the Houthis, the terror group pro-pals love so much. the "Curse upon the jews" REALLY gives some vibes of love and caring.
Tumblr media
As someone who lived through the latest Intifada, this REALLY makes me feel safe out there:
Tumblr media
So, the terror Organistion currently firing at me isn't a terrorist? do tell me more
Tumblr media
And of course, the "resistence". Wow I wonder what happened on October 7th?
Tumblr media
more (explained) #1, more #2, more #3, honestly just go to #antisemitism here.
And, last but not least:
Tumblr media
INDIGENOUS PEOPLE CANNOT BE COLONIALS IN THEIR ANCESTORS' LAND.
WE HAVE 3,000 YEARS OF HISTORY HERE.
But, well, I guess you're from america. Strange how you don't care about colonialism when it's actually. Y'know. BY-THE-BOOK.
~
Another case of kidnaps by terror organisation (Boko Haram). And another (ISIS) (Hamas connection).

I was looking at some Hilda stuff and saw some maps of trolberg/tofoten/the wilderness (huldrawood???) and I was reminded of I think what was one of your notes on Plenism where you were taking about naming stuff and I was very curious on where you'd place the places you came up with in reference to this stuff. (Also Plenism is so good).
OKAY first of all thank u sm i’m glad ur enjoying Plenism! Second of all oh boy anon you have just opened the BIGGEST can of worms, prepare yourself, i’m about to get real neurodivergent
So one of the things that has always confused and slightly annoyed me in Hilda is the inconsistent scale of it all. Trolberg, for example, is described as being this massive sprawling city, so far out and separate from the wilderness that it’s a completely new world for Hilda, and has it’s own unique holidays and celebrations.
But, if you look at a map of Trolberg it really doesn’t look that big, and the more ou learn about it the smaller it seems?? In the show, driving from Trolberg to the wilderness seems to take no time at all, and like the second you leave the wall it’s immediately greenery and wilderness lol. The city itself is crawling with nature! And it only gets more confusing when you read tie-in material, especially Hilda’s World.
The maps in this book are beautifully illustrated and contain almost all of the important locations seen in the show, but they make Trolberg seem tiny! And, according to this book, Trolberg has only one school, and one sparrow scout troop. Now I live in the absolute middle of nowhere, tiny island 4 hours away from the mainland. I went to school in a little town on the mainland, so small it was like barely a town, and it had 4 schools and a college just within the town (i.e. not counting the neighbourin villages and more rural schools), and 4-5 scout troops. This place was TINY, cities have WAY more, but Trolberg apparently only has one of each! Also, according to this book, Tofoten is so close to Trolberg that it’s considered an attraction for Trolberg visitors. What.
There’s a pretty simple explanation for this - there’s just no point in making more. From a creative perspective, Trolberg doesn’t need multiple schools or sparrow scout troops when the story only requires on each, it would be pointless! And when it comes to tie in bokos like Hilda’s World, 90% of people don’t actually want an extensive guide to the innerworkings of a fictional town, they just wanna see the places they got to know in the show. Same logic applies to the distance between Trolberg and The Wilderness, no one wants to watch Johanna and Hilda driving for 5 hours lmao, it’s just easier to skip that and make the journey seem shorter. Having locations be nearer eachother makes it easier for characters to quickly move around.
But. I’m deranged. I NEED detailed world building I REQUIRE detailed descriptions of how this place works I NEED to understand these character’s lives and what their day to day is like, sooo for Plenism and my general Laurenverse I have taken some creative liberties. I haven’t gotten rid of anything from the show, just sort of went “Yes, and—”
First things first I don’t consider Hilda’s World canon lol. In the sense that I don’t consider it to be the in universe guide to Trolberg and beyond it presents itself as, it’s just a fun lil silly book with gorgeous artwork !! I’ve kinda ragged on this book a bit but, i genuinely do love it it’s so pretty.
SO, I’ve upped the scale of Trolberg quite considerably. Hilda’s school is just one of many (Glasgow, the biggest city in Scotland, at a glance seems to have over 100 primary schools, so yeah), as is her Sparrow Scout Troop. It’s big enough that Hilda hasn’t even come close to seeing the whole city, and the area she and her family move into is pretty much brand new to Johanna and Lauren, who previously lived in a totally different side of the city.
Hilda’s old cabin, which I’ll call “Folke Cottage”, is approximately a 4-5 hour drive from Trolberg. This is to help drive home the isolation the lil family has living out in the wilderness.
Speaking of The Wilderness, I gave it a name - Frihäf! In the context of the show, the wilderness doesn’t really need a name (despite how frustrating it can be sometimes when key characters remain nameless for entire seasons, or in some cases the entire show, i actually like the element of realism the show creates by leaving certain characters unnamed. People don’t always ask eachother their names lol, especially kids! Idk i think its neat), but for Plenism I felt it needed one. Frihäf isn’t really a specific place, it’s just the name for this general wilderness area that the family live in, probably encompassing about a…1 hour to 2 hour radius? I’m bad at geography.
The next important location, this one unique to Plenism, is Tågstad! This is a little village about an hour away from Folke Cottage, and 3-4 from Trolberg. It has a little post office and shop, where Johanna can obtain essentials, but in order to get a lot of supplies, they have to go shopping in Trolberg. So, to avoid having to take baby Hilda into Trolberg, Johanna drives Lauren to Tågstad, where she then takes the train into Trolberg, get’s the shopping, and then comes back where Johanna picks her up. From Folke Cottage, Tågstad is the nearest stop on the train to Trolberg, and the little town acts as a “gateway” to many different destinations, such as Toføten, which, from Tågstad, is about 4-5 hours in the opposite direction from Trolberg, I think.
This is all very boring and technical, hence why the actual show didn’t bother with it lol, but I enjoy thinking of these technicalities! Maybe one day I’ll whip up a lil map or something, but even then i’ll prolly run into the same problem the canon maps do where everything seems very small in scale lol.
Oh, btw, Gröttavux is another town name that gets mentioned in The Roundabout, but I don’t have anything about it lol, I just needed another place name or Johanna to say whilst rambling to add in a cheeky wee bit of realism. Umm the only other thing I know about my Trolberg world building so far is that there’s multiple train stations within the city, one of them spits you out nearby some sort of shopping street or market, so that Lauren can easily access it without having to go too deep into the city, effectively restricting her Trolberg exploration to just one street, therefore still maintaining her disconnect from the city, so it’s still a difficult transition come season 1.
THANK U FOR ASKING THIS and letting me ramble about this shit, makes my brain very happy :). I might expand upon this more in future chapters of Plenism, but it depend! I have to be very careful to avoid dumping exposition on ppl when writing Plenism bc god damnit i would if i could. I’d write a whole chapter thats just johanna talking about the geography of the world. Thank you and goodnight

The Basics of D'ni Grammar
(research by Richard Watson)
D'ni is not an Earth language, but because the D'ni are so similar to humans physically and mentally, their language has similarities to some of our native tongues.
D'ni is often compared with Hebrew, since the two languages have similar characters and sounds. But there are many differences, with the most obvious one being that D'ni is written left to right, unlike Hebrew.
The D'ni alphabet has 24 characters, but there more than 24 consonants. These are created by adding indicator marks to a letter. For instance, the character for a "v" sound is the same as the character for a "b," only the "b" has a dot over it. Generally, any consonant without a dot is a fricative, meaning it's produced by air passing continually between the tongue and lips. A consonant with a dot over it contains a stop, meaning that the air is cut off. in the case of a dotted "v," the air is stopped by the lips. By adding indicators to their vowels, D'ni's six vowel letters are expanded to eleven vowel sounds in their spoken language.
D'ni follows a familiar noun-verb structure. Adjectives follow the nouns they modify. Adverbs follow the verbs they modify. Quantifiers such as "very," "extremely," and "really," which add emphasis to phrases, are indicted by numbers from one to twenty-five. The higher the number, the stronger is the emphasis. For example, the phrase "I am a little tired" in D'ni becomes, "I am tired to two." "I am very tired" would be. "I am tired to twenty." To exaggerate something, the D'ni would use a number over twenty-five. "I am incredibly tired," in D'ni could be written or spoken as, "I am tired to thirty."
There are a number of important prefixes and suffixes in D'ni. Verbs use a suffix to indicate both number and person (this is similar to Spanish). For example, the D'ni word for eat is "rees," which is the form it takes when you say "I eat." The suffix "en" is added to indicate that he, she, or it eats, "rees-en." "They eat" uses the suffix "eet." "rees-eet." "We eat" uses "et," "rees-et." "You eat" (singular) uses "em," "rees-em," "You eat" (plural) uses "tee," "rees-tee." You can change this phrase to a command by adding the additional suffix, "ah." To order an individual to eat, you would say, "rees-em-ah!"
Verbs use a prefix to indicate the past, present, and future. To say that you have finished eating, the phrase is "ko-rees." To say that you are currently eating, the phrase is, "do-rees." To say that you will eat later, the phrase is "borrees." Other forms of the suffix are:
• kodo (past progressive): kodo-rees (I was eating)
• le (perfect): le-rees (I have eaten)
• kol (past perfect): kol-rees (I had eaten)
• bodo (future progressive); bodo rees (I will be eating)
• boko (future perfect): boko-rees (I will have eaten)
• bodol (future perfect progressive):
bodol-rees (I will have been eating)
Other common prefixes are "re" for "the." The D'ni word for "book" is "kor," so to indicate "the book," the phrase is "re-kor." The word "and" is "ga," so to indicate "and the book, you would say "ga-re-kor." Suffixes can indicate ideas such as plural and possession. To make a noun plural, add "tee" to the end.
The word for "books" is "kor-tee." To indicate possession, add the suffix "akh," which roughly corresponds to "of." The phrase "Gehn's book," in D'ni is structured, "book of Gehn," and is written, "kor-okh Gehn." An adjective, such as "garo" ("mighty"), can be changed to a noun with the suffix "th," as in "Garoth" (Mighty One). You can change the same adjective into an adverb with the suffix "sh," "garosh," as in "mightily." There is also a special set of characters called the "Garo-hevtee," "Great Words." These symbolize important ideas of groups of words.

"It is far simpler to force a river through a mountain than to change the nature of a soul." Her great aunt's aged 'wisdom' repeated in Khira's mind as her gaze wandered about the snow laden village. It had been only a sun since the pale Miqo'te Keeper arrived with her young charge, but she was already questioning the trip. The weather along the way had been foul, fouler than usual for northern Xelphatol at least, and they had been ambushed by strange fiends in the storm. Were it not for the timely aid from the local Miqo'te Seeker tribe patrolling nearby, Khira feared they may not have made it. Another blow to her pride, and a stark reminder that adventuring and parenting don't mix.
"K-kay!" A voice stammered out, breaking Khira out of her thoughts before they could spiral. Nearby, sat on a rock, clutching a book and surrounded by a gang of inquisitive young seeker children, was her charge, Clyde. He was a scrawny hyuran boy, about 7 or 8, with tanned skin and a mess of hair as white as the surrounding snow. Clyde was shy around strangers at the best of times, even other children, and it was no surprise that the sudden attention had him in a panic. More children still began to crowd around the boy, curiosity compelling them to investigate the newcomer in their remote village. Clyde could only look down at the gathering and then back up to Khira, unsure how to navigate the situation, and let out a confused squeak as one of the Seeker children tugged at his book. He gripped it tighter and pulled it up to his chest in response, the air around the book hissing as it left the child's fingers.
"Clyde!" Khira leapt to her feet, tense, her ears twitching at the small but unmistakable shift of aether around the boy. "You're okay, just take a breath, they're just trying to make friends, alright?" Her voice was calm but her eyes belayed a hint of worry. Clyde was barely a child when he started showing signs of being influenced by a dark magick, a power he could not control. And when this power orphaned the boy it fell to Khira to take him in, to teach him control, and kindness, for his own sake. But she could not help but worry that, no matter what she did, it might not be enough. That the darkness the boy harboured could not be overcome.
"What should I..." The boy cried out once more, looking to his guardian for direction, arms crossed over his book now as if to protect it at all costs.
"Why don't don't you read them a story, from your book!"
The Seeker children's' ears all seemed to perk up at the mention of a story, their eyes alight as they regarded Clyde now with rapt attention. Clyde looked down to the book secure in his arms, as if the boy had been struck with an obvious epiphany, and took a deep breath as he had been taught. "O-okay, yes. Uhh... the Adventures of Boko and Mog!"
The crowd sat themselves in the snow around Clyde like an audience around a stage as he began to read his favourite tale. Khira relaxed and a smile crept across her lips as she watched, almost feeling a little proud. They had a long road ahead of them, undoubtedly with many an obstacle, but maybe things would turn out okay.
