Doing a silly just for fun little read along with my friend, we're reading an embroidery murder mystery book, cosy mystery's aren't typically what I read but as we're both crafters we thought it would be fun. We're reading one chapter at a time and then talking about it on a discord call before we read the next chapter. It's fun and I definitely think we'll be doing this with the whole series, bonus is it's helping get me back into reading.

I have begun annotating my copy of "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt. I plan to annotate one chapter per day, granted my work schedule allows it.

I love getting to match book tabs and highlighters to the cover of a book I'm planning to annotate and read.
It's such a fun lil preparation process; finding the right tab colours to match different aspects of the book cover to then match it to a highlighter.

Decided to try and annotate a book…never done it before but I think my friend would enjoy the book with my commentary as a gift

In my newest podcast episode, I explain why I annotate the books I read and also why I write notes when I read. These two things are very helpful for me if I forget something when reading. I recommend annotating and writing notes when you read. Click the link above to hear what I do when annotating and why I got started.

So, I asked for an annotation kit for my birthday last month, even though I don't know the first thing about annotating books. I just stumbled across some corner of the internet where everyone was annotating and I thought it sounded like a good idea but now I'm staring at the supplies like "wtf am I supposed to do with this?"

people who are against annotating or writing in books will never understand the pure joy and satisfaction i get from writing "girl what" or "she's so me" or other unintelligible useless comments at the side of the page like if you put my tumblr reblog tags in real life

Since it is world book day, I thought I would share once again one of my most heavily annotated, scrapbooked, lived in books- Good Omens.
I usually scrapbook inside my books, but this one is the only one that has things in almost every single page. These are just the pages with double spreads.
To the book that saved me and to Terry Pratchett and @neil-gaiman , thank you 🥂.
I did add some image descriptions. So you get some clues about all the things I put in each spread.
(Because someone asked in the tags: “how can you read it? Reread it??”
Well simple answer: this edition, like many others, happen to have black pages with just the days of the week printed on them, which I left visible, and plenty of empty spaces where I glue/draw everything else, so nothing is covered at all. Plus having so much stuff inside has actually made it easier to open. )
