im not sure how many of you can relate to this but the reson i enjoy taxidermy, insects, pathology, psychology, and the more "grim" and misunderstood subjects is because i, myself, feel misunderstood.

i think that's that same for a lot of people as well, we want to understand what others dont. we feel rejected by others so we want to be accepting of things that are strange to most.

i thought about this because any time i talk about anything to do with the dead, or insects, or psychology i always get strange reactions. and it made me think about why i like these things in general.

i want to understand the misunderstood.

it's always been so confusing to me why people dont get that.

but what do i know, its 11pm for me when im typing and posting this LMAOO

y'all gotta stop making AI art of book ships... it makes me so mad because there are so many talented artists who show their love and support by working hard to make a great drawing for their favorite book. the thing that actually shows that you care is putting work into it not making a computer do it for you. if you wanna use AI to make art please clarify in the post that it's AI and DONT DO FANART THAT WAY BECAUSE ITS NOT APPRECIATING ANYONE OR ANYTHING BECAUSE YOURE MAKING A COMPUTER DO IT!!!!! there's no love or support in AI art.

the disrespect of deceased artists.

this is something that i wanted to talk about for a long time but didn't feel like it made very much sense to just post on my main account.

something i've always found disturbing is how the dead lose any autonomy over anything that they had while they were living. now, you may be thinking "well witcher that's what happens when people die because they can't make decisions on things"

well, what i'm talking about is how artists, poets, musicians, writers, etc of history had their work and art shown to the world without their consent after they passed. Think about how many classics you've read where everything was published AFTER the author passed.

an example that inspired me to write this was franz kafka's work published by his friend when he explicitly asked for it to be burnt. he wrote to that friend: "dearest max, my last request: Everything I leave behind me.....in the way of diaries, manuscripts, letters (my own and others'), sketches, and so on, [is] to be burned unread. .... yours, franz kafka" so, after being told that max brod decided he was going to publish ALL of kafka's work, and so he did.

this is actually a common occurrence with a lot of artists and writers after they pass and it's quite tragic to me because yes, their stories deserve to be told and the great accomplishments they had deserve to be known, but are we supposed to disregard all morals and respect for the dead so that we can have art? does being intelligent and great have to come at the price of your privacy being ripped away??? sure they may be dead and if there is no after life they would have no way of knowing about any of it but I still think it's disrespected who they WERE to have these things published without their consent.

this has always been something that has bothered me, but i'd like to hear your thoughts. feel free to add other examples of artists and writers this has happened to because I think it's a topic that should be discussed more.

i've been so into kafka after reading the metamorphosis it's actually insane, i am going to read everything this man wrote because he captured emotion so well and made me feel so much in 73 pages 🗣️🗣️

the sad thing about translated books is you can never fully grasp an authors work in the way it was intended to be read, and that will always plague my life

hello! i have not been active on here but here's a butterfly that i bought and framed!

it is a malachite :)

there's only slight damage on the wings and antenna are missing but besides that its in pretty good condition! this is the first specimen i have purchased so i'm hoping to start getting into framing and pinning bugs!!! i have always been interested in them.
