Vampire Academy Series: Richelle Mead

Vampire Academy, Frost Bite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, Last Sacrifice

10/10. Comfort books. Love the arc, love the direction. Slow burn mentor/student. Set in modern day. Romantasy.

Dune & Dune: Messiah: Frank Herbert

Dune is a 10/10. Incredibly worldbuilding. Anyone with any interest in sci-fi should read. Messiah went a lot quicker, less complicated and fleshed. 5/10 I didn’t really enjoy it. Maybe I’ll push through one day…

King of Scars Duology: Leigh Bardugo

King of Scars, Rule of Wolves

I love love love Six of Crows, and I didn’t feel like reading Shadow and Bone just yet, so read King of Scars. 7/10 I probably should have read Shadow and Bone but now I probably never will, basically got the gist of it. Didn’t have a lot of background but the story is rly good. Love love love Zoya!!

A Court of Thorns and Roses, a Court of Mist and Fury, a Court of Wrath and Ruin, a Court of Frost and Starlight, a Court of Silver Flames

12/10. Perfect down to the last minute detail. Epic fantasy, worldbuilding that had my jaw on the floor. Must read.

Fourth Wing: Rebecca Yarros

9/10 quick and easy read. Loved the dragons in this one. I’m a sucker for Enemies to Lovers so I basically exactly what i signed up for. Little scared for series though… ahh!

From Blood and Ash Series: Jennifer L. Armentrout

From Blood and Ash, Kingdom of Flesh and Fire, Crown of Gilded Bones, a War of Two Queens, a Soul of Ash and Blood

4/10. First 2 books were really interesting, third one actually totally lost me and in the middle of the fourth I ended up reading all of the Cruel Prince books in the middle of it lol. Determined to not have a DNF this year so I came back, finished it, and read the god-forsaken Soul of Ash and Blood. 0/10 I hated every second of that book. It’s a complete retelling with maybe 2 or 3 chapters that are actually interesting. Yes, I know I read all 5. No, I have no technical regrets. Take that as you will.

The Cruel Prince: Holly Black

The Cruel Prince, the Wicked King, the Queen of Nothing

Good, no spice obvi and super popular but I loved Jude’s character and was obsessed with the politics. Super intriguing I blew through these. 8/10

Verity: Colleen Hoover

6/10, read it in like a day and a half but I don’t rly like thrillers, they scare me lol. It was good tho and my first Colleen Hoover book, not sure if I would read another one but I did really like this one and the ending was super crazy. read it as a palate cleanser after Cruel Prince. I’ve realized if I don’t have a non-high fantasy palate cleanser I fall into a reading slump lol.

Once Upon a Broken Heart Series: Stephanie Garber

Once Upon a Broken Heart, The Ballad of Never After, A Curse for True Love

OUABH is 9/10, honestly such a wonderful book, perfectly captures the hopeless romantic of Eva and allure of Jacks, but TBONA is SHOWSTOPPING!!! 12/10. So amazing, love the storyline, never bored, such good romance it’s the most well written romance I’ve read in a while- screeching halt for ACFTL- I’ve put my thoughts on this blog but it felt so empty compared to the lifeblood in the first 2 books in the series. Definitely worth the read though.

Throne of Glass Series: Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, Kingdom of Ash

Nothing to be said that’s not already been said. Amazing. I love sprawling epics. Not a ton of romance and tbh I’m not a Rowan girly. Defending Chaol til I die tho. 10/10

Twilight: Stephanie Meyer

6/10. I’ve written about this one but I just felt like it was super juvenile for my tastes, I was expecting to like it more and it was just kinda eh. Needed a little more something something but that is of course a me problem. I just think I am not a big fan of YA anymore.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue: V. E. Schwab

Wonderful story, totally lust for life after reading, made me so excited about the ending. I felt like there was so much more to be told which is like exactly how I wanna feel reading a book. 8/10

Divine Rivals: Rebecca Ross

At first I was not rocking with the pacing, I feel like this book could have been a lot longer. But when I finished it I actually was more on board with the speed and it was super sweet. Good found family aspect. 7/10 will for sure be reading the next one.

Plated Prisoner Series: Raven Kennedy

Gild, Glint, Gleam, Glow, Gold

I love love love LOVE these books! Pacing is amazing, you can see exactly how Auren’s trauma affects her character, Malina has gained a fan, just huge fantastic series here. Cannot wait until the last one is out. 10/10

(Alex Standall x Reader): Mercy (pt 10)

Summary: After you heard the tapes you broke up with Alex because you thought that he was still in love with Jessica. But when you find out that he tried to commit suicide you take a look back at your relationship and realize you may have made a mistake.

A/N: This one’s uhh...intense, so, get ready for that. I apologize in advance.

The next day wasn’t much better. There were still whispers and stares as you walked around school but people had already started to move on to new gossip and drama, specifically about Bryce and the fact that Marcus had called him a rapist. Compared to the past few days it seemed relatively drama-free and you were starting to think that maybe things were finally going to start turning around.

However, when you got home from school your mood quickly changed when you walked into your room.

Everything was a mess. Your room wasn’t necessarily the cleanest but this. Someone had destroyed your room. Everything was on the floor. All of your clothes were pulled out of your dresser and closet and littering the floor. The books on your bookcase were pulled off their shelves and a majority of them were ripped to shreds. Everything from your desk as emptied out. Your lap was smashed on the floor as were all of the pictures frames you’d had. Your sheets were stripped off the bed and looked like they’d been ripped to shreds as if by an animal.

You walked through the mess gingerly and when you got to the bed you noticed there was a piece of paper laying on top of your mattress. You opened it up to only drop it quickly when you realized the message on it was written in blood. In harsh, bold letters it read “you talk you die bitch”

“Alex,” You cried when he picked up after you fumbled to dial his number, “Someone, someone broke into my house-my room, ohmygod Alex they destroyed everything,” You manage to get out.

“Are you hurt? Are you safe now?” He asks, clearly alarmed, “I’m on my way over, I’m texting Zach.”

“I’m fine, it’s just-please get here soon-I don’t know what to do,” You tell him.

“Is anyone else home? Did they do anything to the rest of your house?” Alex asks.

“No, everyone’s gone still, I don’t think my parents will be home ‘til late. I don’t think they did anything else, everything else seemed normal when I walked home.”

“Okay, okay, should you call the police? You need to call right? Should you call my dad?” Alex asks.

“No!” You replied quickly as you stared down the note you still had clutched in your other hand, “No… I can’t call the police, no one can know that this happened,” You tell him.

“(Y/N)...” Alex replied slowly, “Are you sure you’re okay?”

“I-I’m fine, Alex, I can explain it when you get here, it’s complicated…”

“Okay, we’re pulling up to your house right now, everything’s going to be okay, we’ll come up,” He tells you before hanging up the phone.

A minute or so later you heard grumbles and you could tell Zach was helping Alex get up the stairs to your room. You quickly wiped at your eyes and turned around just was they made it to your doorway.

“Jesus Christ,” Zach muttered as you stepped over to them and wrapped your arms tightly around Alex, hugging him as tight as you could.

“(Y/N), oh my god,” Alex says as he squeezes you as hard as he can, “Thank god you’re okay.”

“Who would do this?” Zach asks as he looks around in disbelief.

“I don’t know,” You reply, “but, uh… they left this,” You tell them as you grab the note off of your bed and hand it to Zach. They both read through it and share a glance before turning back to you.

“We’ve gotten similar notes,” Zach tells you, “Not just us, Jess got one too, and Clay got driven off the road, it has to be someone trying to keep us quiet during Hannah’s trial, we think it’s Bryce or someone he’s paying to do it.”

“But no one knows I’m testifying, I only told you guys and my parents,” You tell them.

“I don’t know, I guess someone found out somehow,” Zach replies.

“But this is insane, who would do this just to keep (Y/N) quiet during the trial, what could she possibly say that would be so bad that Bryce or someone would do this to her?” Alex asks.

“I have no idea, but (Y/N), you need to tell someone, you need to talk to Alex’s dad.” Zach insists.

“No! If I tell someone then who knows what this person will do next? Bryce could destroy my whole life, my future, if he wanted to,” You argue.

“At least tell your parents,” Zach pushes.

“Are you kidding? They’ll make me call the police, they’ll make it a whole spectacle,” You tell him, “No, we need to clean this up, no one but us can know that this happened, not Jess, not Clay, none of the others.”

“(Y/N)-”

“Come on, we have a few hours and my parents will never notice the difference, trust me, I can’t deal with this on top of everything else.” You tell them, “Please.”

“I’m in,” Alex said as he squeezed your hand reassuringly.

“Zach?” You ask.

Zach glances between the two of you, before rolling his eyes, “Fine, but I’m only doing this because the two of you are going to fail on your own.”

“Okay, can you go grab the trash bags? They’re under the kitchen sink downstairs,” You tell Zach before turning to Alex, “And uh, we can just sort through everything I guess. See what’s salvageable.”

“You mean I don’t get to just sit and look pretty?”

“Well you’re obviously going to do that while we work,” You quip back, laughing slightly before turning towards your room and feeling the smile slide off of your face, “Can you bundle up my sheets? Those are goners, I’ll have to go find some new ones in the closet.” You tell him as you crouch down to get a closer look at the books strewn across your floor, “God, I’m gonna have to throw out almost all of these.” You comment as you pick up a cover that has been completely detached from its pages.

When Zach comes back upstairs with bags you all get down to business and start filling them with every belonging of yours that is beyond repair. You ask each other questions about certain items and whether or not something is ‘too broken’ but other than that you don’t make any effort to have a conversation and neither do the boys.

Eventually, you have several bags full of your belongs and the rest of your room is empty but clean.

Most of your clothes were just thrown around and you’ve rehung or refolded them and they’re all back in your closet and dresser. Your photo frames were destroyed but most of the pictures were fine so you left the pile sitting on your desk, as a promise that you’d go buy some new ones eventually. Your bed had new sheets and blankets on it now, but they were basically the same ones you’d had before, thanks to the fact that your mom had duplicates of just about everything in your house, just in case.

You and Zach took the bags down and out to your trash can and when you were finished you all sat around your room, exhausted physically and emotionally.

“I should head home,” Zach said after a while, “I’m supposed to look after May tonight and after I walked out of the field dedication thing today I should probably get home on time, my mom is already mad enough.”

“God, I still can’t believe that your mom wants you to defend Bryce,” You tell him with a sigh.

“Yeah, well she doesn’t know the truth,” Zach replies, “You ready to go, Alex?”

“Actually, I can drive him home, you can head out,” You reply quickly.

“Alright, I’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Zach replies

After a beat, Alex turns to you, “You’re not kidnapping me? Are you?”

You grin, “No,” You tell him, “Unless you want me too,” You offer as you stand up and move over to where he’s sitting on the bed.

“Maybe,” He replies as he lays back on your bed and pulls you down to lay next to him.

“Well, if it were up to me you would never leave,” You tell him truthfully as you snake your arms around his waist, “I just- I can’t be alone. Not now.”

“You’re not getting rid of me anytime soon.”

“Promise?”

“Swear it,” he says as he links his pinkie with your own, “Never.”

“I love you,” You tell him softly. “I love you more.”

oh god, not boring at all, you know i’m always ready to throw down about Smallville with you

my favorite female character: Lois Lane. She’s so perfectly my type, she’s bossy, determined, passionate, sassy, flawed as hell and a complete wreck, but smart and insightful as well and so dedicated to the truth that she will throw herself wholesale into trouble to pursue it. She also takes no shit and refuses to learn from her failures, which is a massive flaw and also makes her perfect in my eyes.

my favorite male character: Hmmm...well....I guess...ah, I guess it has to be Lionel Luthor. I mean, fucking, who else could I say and have you people believe me? He is, unlike Lois, a very bad person, and I love every minute of it. He is calculating, ruthless, brutal and precise. However, he is also a massive fucking DRAMA QUEEN who uses impressive sounding quotes in every sentence, and fences his own son to prove a point about the business. His major flaw is how he underestimates people (especially Chloe) who he sees as beneath him, and I love that because it shows how his paranoia and carefulness is tempered by his massive (and well-earned) sense of self-importance. He is ruthlessly evil and flamboyantly intellectual and dramatically inclined all at the same time and I adore it.

my favorite book/season/etc: I think it would have to be Season 4. Lois shows up and just turns it up to eleven. Tom’s acting becomes instantly a hundred times better as soon as they start to have scenes opposite each other. It is also the domain of prison!Lionel and the rise of goody two-shoes Lionel which is just *chef’s kiss* perfection.

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): Okay, a couple that I love. Transference (because I love body swap episodes, also the creepiest and completely canon Mionel moment), Mercy (because Mionel 4eva and a fucking day, also that tank top), Suspect a.k.a Who shot Mr Luthor (because in one single day Lionel manages to piss off so many people that like five people are all equally likely to have shot him, which makes you wonder how he isn’t constantly being shot all the time) and also Luthor because... hot damn, amirite?

my favorite cast member: I don’t actually know that much about the cast themselves in this one, but in terms of actors, my faves are John Glover and Michael Rosenbaum, because I legit think they are the best actors on the show. And also John Glover is an amazing character actor in everything, and always gives a hundred percent to the stupidest shit (see: my icon)

my favorite ship: oh god, I’m the biggest multi-shipper in the world, but let’s keep it brief and just say, p much any Lionel ship, specifically Mionel (for reasons I have detailed again and again on this blog, and will forever), Lionel/Jonathan (because come on, enemies to lovers anyone?), Lionel/Martha/Jonathan (because why choose two when you can have them all)

a character I’d die defending: Hmmm, let’s say apart from Lionel, who I of course would drop everything for. It would also be season one Lex (my child), Lois because I love her, and my son Clark Kent, whom I love and cherish.

a character I just can’t sympathize with: Davis Bloom. Mostly because he sucks. And also because I don’t count any of Season 8′s Veritas plot as canon because it’s stupid as shit. Oh, Lionel knew about a prophecy about an alien child coming to earth and made preparations for it and then knew Clark was that child and then never acted on it and was a dumbass about it? Fuck off. Lionel kept a diary in which he drew super detailed portraits of a child in a cage instead of taking a fucking picture with a camera? Please, I'm keeping the character skill and ignoring that dumb shit. Lionel kidnapped a child and kept him hidden in a room in his house before realising he could get nothing from him and driving the child away and making him get out of the car and then driving off? Well... actually that does sound like something he would do but you’re on thin fucking ice. Also I just couldn’t stand Davis, and I didn’t like Chloe’s character when he was around, and I hated the whole plot.

a character I grew to love: This one’s a twofer. Because first off Lana Lang, first time I watched I just couldn’t fucking get behind her. I thought she was wishy-washy and nothing. Second time I watched I understood her a bit more, and watched her as just as much of a broken, lost person as the others, rather than the pedestal everyone put her up on. If she had stayed in Paris, I would uncomplicatedly love her, unfortunately she did come back and that all happened. The other character is Whitney Fordman because tbh he was unfairly maligned by the show and I will not stand for it. Yeah, he did like two irredeemably shitty things, and other than that he was just a regular goddamn teenage boy with insecurities and a complicated relationship with the future like anyone else. The show painted Whitney as the unreasonable, neglectful boyfriend, when he was just a normal dude who sometimes paid less attention to Lana than he did to his other commitments but who was always regretful of that and offered to make it up to her. He was also there a hell of a lot more than Clark was, mr something’s come up and I can’t meet you. He was painted as unreasonably jealous when actually, when you look at it from his point of view, his girlfriend is lying to him about spending time with a guy who obviously has a crush on her. Lana refuses to tell him about meeting Clark, and lies about where she is, and yeah, that’s suspicious as hell, he has a right to be concerned. Whitney was a regular ass guy who had succeeded based on his football skill and good looks in high school and who was scared to death that that was all he had to offer the world and no one around him was giving him any reason to believe anything else about himself. I understand why Clark was anti-him, but I don’t forgive the show for doing him like that. Team Whitney-has-a-vivid-internal-life-and-wasn’t-that-bad-actually.

my anti otp: It’s gonna be kinda boring but, Clark/Lana. And that’s not just because i’m Clark/Lois til I die, but because I think the on-again, off-again relationship was unhealthy and bad for them both. They kept realising it was never going to work, and then they kept ignoring that and going back to each other. Also, even though i was just talking about how much I’d grown to like Lana, she is not ready to be in a relationship because she has a whole bunch of shit that she has not fucking worked out for herself and she is not great to Clark as a girlfriend, and Clark also cannot give her what she needs as a boyfriend. If Lana had left the show after she went to Paris, I would have been super into it. She and Clark had broken up, Lana was completing her journey as a character and getting out of that Small town she hated, full of memories and expectations. It’s what Lana deserved, but they kept bringing her back and ruining every development she made as a character. It wasn’t fair on her and her relationship with Clark as the seasons went on kept pissing me the fuck off.

The highlight of his night was when the date was over and he could go to the little bookshop in town and buy something to read for the rest of the night. He wanted to read, not date. (30k, M)

☾  The Awkward and Sometimes Painful Life of of Genim Hale,  by BlueRunawayMoon  : Stiles is a writer of gay erotica whose work, according to his Editor (one miss Lydia Martin) has gotten dull and boring. Lydia suggest's that Stiles try to LIVE a little, gain some new juicy experiences that he can write about and bring the heat up again. Only problem is Stiles is a bit on the dorky side and not good with 'living a little'. After a whole slew of embarrassing situations brought on by his best(sometimes!) friend Scott, he's given some wise advice and decides to take a tropical paradise vacation. All's going good and well, and he's got a major crush on his super hot tour guide Danny. Yet it seem's like he can't stop bumping into Derek, who, as annoying and brooding as he seem's, also makes it quite clear he WANTS Stiles. As in...wants wants. With the two being brought together almost by fate, Stiles discover's that Derek is more than he seems....WAY more. (113k, E)

☾  Riding the Lightning, by  Vendelin : Stiles finds himself on the doorstep to his home in Beacon Hills, not remembering how he got here or why he’s barefoot. As it turns out, he was abducted a couple of weeks earlier from a college party and bears the same marks on his body as victims of a serial killer his dad just can’t seem to get a hold of. So there he is, with no memories of what happened, the last couple of weeks like a blank line in his mind and knowing all too well that he’s the best shot they have at catching this guy. As a key witness and in acute, assumed danger, he finds himself under surveillance 24/7 and more often than not, his dad’s best Deputy: Derek Hale, is sitting at his kitchen table. (23k, E)

When Hale moved back to Beacon Hills, Stiles just figured he'd hole himself up in his rebuilt mansion, writing his fourth book, never to fulfill Stiles' endless daydreams about running into him and having the alpha fall madly in love with him. It's completely fucking improbable and nonsensical, would never happen in a million years, so of course Stiles somehow winds up in a no-strings-attached agreement with his literary idol, all while eating chicken McNuggets out of his pocket at random intervals and plotting the demise of the McFlurry mixer. ☾  You'll See Me Again,  by  matildajones  :      Stiles is the soldier who saved Derek and brought him back home. He doesn't seem to care that Derek's a prince or that he's a little bit broken. Derek falls, quick and sure, but it's not easy knowing that Stiles will soon have to return to the war. (10k, T)

Not even a day to rest in between, we were set to face Midnight Turfers on the next day!

Midnight Turfers is like an older/mature version of Pier Pressure; they started off as a pick-up team in season 2, and stayed together for season 3. It is said that fire-forged bonds from battles are the strongest; Midnight Turfers (MT) is perhaps one of the living proof.

The team of 8 (now 10) members is led by Pilot and GameRaider. Video research shows that Magey is the main threat, being an all-rounder X ranker, a match to our Furi. While GameRaider is also fairly strong, he is unavailable for our match due to Chinese New Year preparation and so there was less pressure for us. Other than that, it is known that Tak-tiks is their roller user. The other members remain unknown, I can only pray there’s no other secret obito or Magey-like players.

When the time came, it is observed that Pilot, Jupiter and Ezkey came online. Judging Jupiter and Ezkey’s levels, they seemed quite fresh, but then again levels may not be fair indicator. It was also clear that they were having a bad day as their 4th member went missing. Not that we’re in a perfect situation, considering that Furi was back in hometown and could not do call-outs, though she did participate on our vc.

Nevertheless, Captain Pilot adhered to the rules: there is a grace period of 10 minutes for teams to get all their members in, if the time has passed and members are still incomplete, it would either be a 3v4 or the match forfeits. MT would rather die trying than to forfeit the match.

Turf War, Walleye Warehouse - A quick gauge of skills on the first round was enough for us to know that the three would be no match for us four. I even started to squid dance half way to maintain fairness, and victory was narrowly won. Pilot informed us their 4th member arrived right after we started. To maintain fairness (and also out of pity), we allowed for a retry in said map on 4v4. Magey entered (to everyone’s dismay), I switched from Bloblobber to Hydra. We took the round again by having to maintain mid control, with me ensuring to splat Magey as priority.

Clam Blitz, Piranha Pit - We had a rather wonky start, and we did not perform well in this one. Perhaps MT could have won that one if Magey did not dc. Luck was at our side, reality was harsh. t!slots took the win in that one.

Rainmaker, New Albacore Hotel - That match was quite fun to play. If I recall correctly, it wasn’t even close as my Hydra was able to effectively shut them over the bridge. Everyone done really well in progressing and defending.

Somewhere along the line, Jupiter dc’d. Understanding the frustration and embarrassment that MT must be facing, we made light of the situation by making jokes and sending spiritual Booyah Bomb to Jupiter. My Booyah Bomb was so effective that it short-circuited my internet and Discord vc. It took a while but Jupiter came back.

Splat Zones, Ancho-V Games - It felt like Magey had caught on, for he spent most of his time aiming at me. A wipe made it hard for others to recover as everyone rushed into the zone one by one. MT secured a win in that one.

Tower Control, Sturgeon Shipyard - As if to maintain fairness between teams, Lady Luck took my connection away after 2 minutes and 30 seconds, making it too late for a rematch. MT easily took the win despite the lead we had.

Clam Blitz, Skipper Pavilion - The constant skirmishes in the middle left the opponent’s north side to be empty. Sot was able to break net a couple of times due to this, and we were able to defend the middle well.

After said match, Magey left as MT thought the match has ended when it was actually still at 4 - 2 to our favour. We had to wait for his return as he had entered into a ranked match. This was certainly a set fraught with lots of waiting, but it was also what made Div6 became rowdy as more jests were made while waiting.

Rainmaker, Moray Towers - One can see that Magey’s internet connection was deteriorating as he dc’d the first time and started to teleport on the second round. While we had the upper hand on the lead, MT was able to snatch the lead at the final minute, leading to a victory in their books.

Splat Zones, The Reef - Magey’s dc led GameRaid to substitute him; we played long enough for GR to sort out his stuff ‘til he was free to play. Boy was I glad that Magey was subbed out, that we did not have to face both GR and Magey the same time. The match was pretty equal until I took a more aggressive approach by perching on the left, taking out the charger and splatting unsuspecting opponents who rushed to the zones. t!slots won this match and subsequently the set.

The final score was 5 - 3 in t!slots’ favour.

The mind-exhausting match took us 2 hours to complete. Meaning to say, Furi spent more than 2 hours outside for better internet, and sot + bibu endured the afternoon heat in their rooms. Sot even mentioned he didn’t know what was doing halfway through the match due to the heat getting into him. I really appreciate my team’s patience and felt bad for not considering their state better, the experience made me strive to pay attention on my team’s condition more.

i r e a l l y need to tell this story because i’ve kept it all inside for 4 years and the more i think the more i realize all the fucked up things that happened to me in middle school.

this boy once said my voice was so annoying that he wished i would shut up. having social anxiety, i was nervous to talk all week. my friends in that class brought me out of my shell again and he told me to shut up again. i told him to keep his opinions to himself or something like that i forget. it started like a rivalry that he would always say crazy stuff to me and i would just defend myself and i HATED IT. he said he hoped i was burned alive and shot in the head and he kept saying graphic / violent ways for me to die and i kicked him in the shin and walked away super fast.

one day i did make a mistake, i did something fucked up and i’m sorry that i stooped to his level. he was being particularly rude and my friend was sick so i pulled out my phone and took a video of him to send to her via Instagram. it wasn’t even a mean video i just showed what was in front of me in class. but i forget, i guess he made a weird face or something and i showed it to the girl next to me and we laughed and he got so mad. i said i was sorry and I’d delete it- i didn’t expect him to be upset after everything he had done to me. he went to the teacher and she called me over after class, i expected a telling off but oh. no. she just started going off about how i was cyber bullying him and how me and my friends probably had been for a long time. i was shocked and said that wasn’t true but she was just so angry she refused to let me speak she just sent me to the office.

i had severe social anxiety and still do and i was fucking shaking. crying. everything. first i had to talk to the counselor for an hour and i wasn’t allowed to return to class until the vice principle decided my punishment. she asked me to tell her the whole thing and i did. except my bitch ass 14 year old self thought it would be a good idea to tell her the truth about what he had been doing to me since i hadn’t til anyone. i thought surely she would believe me and make him stop after this, no. she blatantly said she didn’t believe me and he was a sweet boy who would NEVER say those things. i ended up finding out that he came in every day and said i was bullying him, me and my friends. which was far from true. he made me feel like shit he told me he wanted me dead and how he wanted me to die infront of so many people, he called me useless in class, annoying, bitch, stupid etc all the time. i literally defended myself and i am genuinely sorry if i hurt him trying to do so but i know for a fact i was not intentionally or at all bullying him in any way.

she didn’t believe a word i said. she was passive aggressive and fake nice. she walked me to the library when i was still crying and i was humiliated. she made me get a book to read and made me read it or study while i waited for the vice principle which was fine. but i was straight up having a panick attack at this point and she refused to let me call home. after TWO HOURS of this the vice principle came in and heard my side of the story and was instantly on my side. (thank you to that guy he was actually the only staff member that helped me). he said this seemed like it had been blown way out of proportion for one little video etc and said he had been told i was cyber bullying. he looked at my phone which was hell omfg but all he found was pictures of like harry styles and my friends making weird faces lmao.

so i went through the rest of my day straight up trying not to cry again. then in my last class i saw the boy whispering to the teacher. the teacher came over and moved me all alone to the back of the class and said i had to talk to him after class. he then pulled me aside and asked if i was cyber bullying the boy and before i could even answer he angrily told me that it was NOT permitted in his class and he would not tolerate it and that he would move me to another class if need be. i straight up teared up and told him i didn’t do it.

after this incident the boy told all my teachers i ‘cyber bullied’ him and to keep an eye on me. the vice principle then emailed them to ignore him and that it wasn’t true (thanks dude). but the teacher he originally told? oh she hated me and my friends after that. she criminalized us all year. she made racist comments, my friend was mexican and the other was arabic and im adopted so my skin is mixed idk what i am. but she said stuff about getting deported and how we were lucky our families were legal etc. she said if i didn’t pay attention in class i would need a tutor and my family probably wouldn’t be able to afford one.

a substitute told us we shouldn’t talk to eachother in class or we would be abused by our husbands some day for being dumb? and we would DESERVE it somehow? we told our teacher and she didn’t care and didn’t defend us. i was so hurt and angry. basically so much happened and it was just really unfair because it was uncalled for and at some times straight up racist and sexist.

i HAD to get this off my chest and i know that nobody will ever read it but my 14 y/o self still wants justice haha.

West Week Ever: Pop Culture In Review - 1/13/17

In movie news, we got a trailer for CHiPs, starring Dax Shepard and Michael Peña. That’s right, the California Highway Patrol are gonna get their own film. And I couldn’t give two shits. I’ve probably seen 3 episodes of that show in my lifetime, so there’s no nostalgia factor for me there. I’m going into this the same way I went into Starsky & Hutch – another show I’ve never seen. I thought the trailer, however, was kinda funny. I’ve heard a lot of folks ragging on it, as they see it as the “21 Jump Street Model” being applied to the CHiPs franchise. I feel like, without it being a comedy, there’s not really much you can do with that concept. It’s cops on motorcycles. How do you add drama to that? One of them gets a flat tire? I like the fact that it’s a comedy, though the trailer is far from the funniest thing I’ve seen. There’s no way I’m setting foot in a theater to see it, but I’m totally gonna watch it, either via Redbox or “Other”. I mean, Peña is a national treasure. He’s great in everything he does, and I feel like the only reason he doesn’t get more accolades is due to his alleged ties to Scientology. Anyway, a CHiPs movie is coming. Tell your grandpa!

During the Television Critics Association winter press tour, The CW surprised everyone by announcing the early renewal of 7 shows, including Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Supernatural, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Jane the Virgin. This is a major win for Ex-Girlfriend, seeing as how it’s the lowest rated show on broadcast television. This will also be whopping season 13 for Supernatural, which I can’t even believe. I joked on Twitter that star Jensen Ackles must’ve made some kind of Faustian deal around season 5 that he can’t figure out how to get out of. Like, those dudes are completely typecast at this point, where they have nothing to look forward to other than a life on the convention circuit. But it’s good work if you can get it!

Anyway, the most surprising news was that The CW was resurrecting Constantine, starring Matt Ryan…as an animated series. Yes, Constantine will join Vixen as a CW Seed original webseries. Ugh. I’ve expressed my disdain for webseries in the past, but it’s not like I was gonna watch it anyway. I only liked Constantine in his cameo on Arrow, but never watched his series. And the Vixen CW Seed show was so forgettable that I can’t even remember if I finished both seasons. But who knows? Maybe this will be good? I’ll wait til someone I trust recommends it.

Surprising no one, it’s being reported that Girl Meets World is being shopped around to other platforms. In recent interviews, it was revealed that Disney Channel wouldn’t let the show explore some themes that the writers wanted, but I still think it got pretty heavy for Disney fare. Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up at Freeform or Netflix. It seems like everyone would be on board, and maybe it could last as long as its predecessor.

In the world of comics, it was announced that Brian Michael Bendis would be writing a Defenders comic, to be released around the time of the Netflix series of the same name. The series will feature Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. I feel this is bad news for writer David Walker, however, who happens to be writing the current Power Man and Iron Fist comic. Sure, there are multiple Spider books and multiple Iron Man books, but I just don’t see those guys carrying multiple books, especially considering the low sales on PM & IF. I don’t know if I’m looking forward to this or not. On the one hand, I love Jessica Jones and, besides Miles Morales, think she’s the greatest Bendis contribution to comics. I also love how he writes Luke Cage. He got his chops writing Daredevil, so he should be good there, too. At the same time, he’s not the writer he used to be, so I’m not sure if he’s got “It” right now. Still, I’m a dumb fanboy, so I’ll be checking it out when it hits stands.

Things You Might Have Missed This Week

The cast of Downton Abbey has been told to clear their schedules for a possible film. I still need to get past season 4, so I don’t even know what a movie would be about at this point.

Love Connection is returning to the airwaves, courtesy of Fox. Chuck Woolery, however, will be replaced by Bravo’s Andy Cohen.

Speaking of Fox, primetime soap Empire was renewed for season 4. I finally gave up on it this year, so good luck with that!

Breaking Baddie Gus Fring is rumored to be showing up on Better Call Saul next season.

American Horror Story has been renewed by FX for seasons 8 and 9. I’ve never seen any of them, but I know some of y’all liked the early seasons at least.

David Goyer and Justin Rhodes have been hired to write a Green Lantern Corps film, which will star Hal Jordan and John Stewart

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards were held last Sunday, celebrating the best in television and film. Surprising everyone, freshman show (and former West Week Ever recipient) Atlanta won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy in Television. To top things off, though, its creator and star, Donald Glover, won Best Actor in a Comedy. It was well deserved, as the show was nearly perfect, and Glover was behind all of it. Well, Glover’s week got even better a few days later, as he inked an exclusive development deal with FX Productions. The only bad news was that FX announced season 2 of Atlanta will be delayed until 2018 because Glover’s so damn busy. After all, he’s got to film his Lando Calrissian scenes for the upcoming Han Solo film. So, I think it’s safe to say this was Donald Glover’s week, which is why he had the West Week Ever.

Schalke OT3? Tell me more!

Shoot I couldn’t respond til now. Hi, so, lbr Schalke is one of the four teams I could easily ship everyone with everyone because I have zero chill. (I actually call it the Iker Effect because it usually becomes this centralized on one person but everyone is in love whatever poly freefalling mess)

In this case tho, i’ve been sort of, ahh, letting it simmer like the good anon said because it mostly came about through smushing neuwedes with manu/ralle together and i needed to ruminate a little more on how I wanted Ralf to fit in you know? I mean inherently of course I love all three sides of this ot3 but I also could see it as more of a vee relationship or not mutually exclusive to three individuals (like a lot of my poly ideas have been lately….) so I left it on the backburner for a bit.

But! I think it could be a lot of fun and I’ve talked about Benni and Manu and Schalke and the choices they made but Ralle seems way less dramatic and a much better thinker than would-die-for-Schalke-Bene and Golden-Boy-turned Hometown-Big-Bad-Turncoat Manu. They’ve got the whole spectrum of drama covered. Ralle is just a nice goalkeeper with the same expectation put on him as Manu without the same results and of course sharing that defender-goalie (with an extra helping of captain my captain) bond with Benni.

Plus they were all stupid kids together. (I’m pretty sure there was some crossed paths during the youth team days)

Also!!! Ralle did what neither of them have done which is, leave Schalke and come back mostly triumphant (he did after all get to block crucial shots in the rivalry derby supercup edition so.) He just seems like a good….fulcrum to balance out the load of pressure both Manu and Bene possess but also like

1. Manu could totally be little spoon and enjoy that

2. Ralf could update Manu when Benni is being stubborn and quiet and in pain because we all suffer for football but Benni suffers for all our sins, I mean, for Schalke.

3. Benni could have a solid presence that he can lean on rather than bring leaned on in Ralle.

4. Goalie-Defender-Goalie ot3 absolutely trashtalking all the time.

5. Manu understands Ralf, he’s been in his shoes!!! He knows when to talk and when to let silence talk for him.

6. They all get each other of their individual funks like a well-oiled machine and all have different methods of doing that.

7. They tol. Benni not as tol.

If I weren’t so Bayern, Schalke probably would’ve devoured my soul by now but mia san mia and all that. Also fips because fips.

And speaking of!! I forgot Ralle is a Chemnitzer!!! Like Anja!!! so he’s good in my books.

Everything Coming to Netflix Canada in December

Dumplin’

A Southern feel good beauty pageant flick set is exactly what the winter season called for. Adapted from Julie Murphy’s best-selling book of the same title, Dumplin’ stars Jennifer Aniston as the pageant-obsessed mother of Dolly Parton–obsessed Willowdean, played by Patti Cake$’ breakout Danielle Macdonald. When Willodean stages a protest and enters her mother’s teen pageant, other plus-size contenders follow—to which Willodean respond,  “I’m not the Joan of Arc of fat girls.” Here’s hoping Dumplin’ sets Netflix on the road to redemption after the whole Insatiable disaster.

Tidelands: Season 1

Think Twilight meets Revenge — but with mermaids. That’s not how Netflix is describing this Australian Original Series, but it seems to hit the mark. The description they’ve shared is fairly vague: “Tidelands follows Cal McTeer (Charlotte Best), a young woman who returns home to the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay after ten years in juvenile detention. But her hometown is shrouded in mysteries, the greatest of which is the commune of outcasts who live in a hidden pocket of the bay.” And obviously, the entire cast is gorgeous. It sounds like the perfect soapy supernatural drama to binge-watch over the holidays.

Birdbox

I had my hands cupped over my mouth for the duration of this 3-minute trailer. Which means that, as a noted hater of bone-chilling post-apocalyptic films, I probably won’t be watching this. But hey, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t! The Sandra Bullock-lead thriller mirrors of the sense-driven monster sentiment of John Krasinski’s ‘s A Quiet Place, but instead of having to keep silent, Bullock has to blindfold her small children. Here’s how Netflix describes Birdbox: “When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life.”

The Queens Justice / S7E3

And so, another episode over only 4 left of the season…

Sam does not get punished or kicked out for curing Jorah (all you Mormont fans can cheer and get giddy he is on his way back to his queen) Sam does however get more tedious chores to do… or does he? Let’s think about this he has to copy all those rotting scrolls. Which in those days would mean by hand not with a copier. So Sam the book worm gets to read old scrolls and re-write them? He must surely be in his glory. But wait a tick, was he actually just rewarded? ‘ROTTING” scrolls? Must be pretty old and have info on say the long winter? The White walkers?  Did Sam just get everything he was asking for??? All we can do is wait and see but my guess is he did.

Ellaria Sand gets to watch her daughter die and decay in a prison cell while she herself slowly dies. Was that a good move on Cersei's part? Kinda leaves it open for Ellaria to be rescued and get revenge. Her love of slow torture is one day going to backfire. Although as she spoke I was getting upset because it was sounding like a pretty Sandsnake’s head was going to be popped like a grape taking after her father. Luckily it is a slow acting poison, doubt she will get an antidote in time though. But I think it will get mommy’s blood up for revenge IF somebody pops in to let her go.

Euron gets his standing ovation cruising the streets of King’s Landing such a hero dragging his niece behind like a mule. But he did get engaged and is now the head of Cercei’s navy. At least for now I think he is going to make one fatal mistake and try to assault whatever ships they may have in Dragonstone. I’d be oh so careful about bringing wooden ships close to Dragons. It was mentioned about an attack with dragons on his ships so I think it is coming. Especially after he attacked the ships and left the unsullied stranded having to hoof it back. So far she only knows of the first attack and Tyrion was able to stop her but this second attack? She cannot afford these losses.

That takes us to Grey Worm and the unsullied. Successful attack on an empty Casterly Rock then stranded by losing their ships. At least they did not get killed so there is that. But what we have here is a foreign Army on foot in a land they do not know. It will be a long road back and I anticipate many casualties. The Unsullied are great warriors and will be a tough opponent but they can and will fall victim to ambush by people who know the area better. So where on Westeros were the Lannisters? Oh wait…

So when last we saw Lady Olenna she was advising Danni and heading home to High Garden. Hey look it’s the Lannisters!!! So High Garden was soundly defeated and Lady Olenna poisoned so sad I liked her. Happily, she confessed to Jeoffrey’s murder and wanted to make sure Cersei knew great moment in the show. Better was the look on Jamie’s face Cersei drove out his brother and wanted him dead. Over a murder he did not commit. It was purely driven by her hatred of him.  I wonder how this news will affect their relationship as well as how Jamie deals with Tyrion when they meet up again. Man, Jamie looked like he was sucker punched for sure.

On to Cersei well of course called the Queen’s Justice so she has the 2 powerful houses backing Dannie brought low and has wiped out her fleet. Mad props to her for taking a powerful start to the war and has a secret way to kill Dragons although while an effective weapon shooting a flying dragon is a lot different than shooting a calcified skull. And of course has stranded ½ Danni’s army in far away from her. I do however find her to be careless leaving Ellaria alive she may be in prison but so was Tyrion once…

Bran has returned home likely with the Night’s King following close behind. He is the 3 eyed Raven he knows all… sees all and without actually saying it told Sansa he watched her get raped. Yeah easy to see how she got creeped out and Had other things to do… When last she saw Bran he was a cripple on the edge of death but just prior was a fun loving lively little boy climbing around the castle. Now he is this creepy stalkeresque weirdo who doubles as a homing beacon for the Night’s King. Poor Sansa she became tough, strong-willed independent woman only to find Jon is an undead whatever and more brooding that he ever was, Bran is a wizard Harry!!! And wait til she runs into the little skin changer assassin. Yep her family is all sorts of messed up freaks. Good thing she has the other creepy dude to ..err yeah nothing good over there either. How about her freakishly huge bodyguard? No? Wildlings? Ok maybe things have not really improved for her in life. Oh but wait Bran needs to talk to Jon… I wonder what he needs to tell him ;)

Which brings us to Jon and Danni…. So, Jon finally meets Aunt Danni YAY!!! He refuses to bend the knee claims they need each other. However, Danni feels she needs nobody but loyal subjects so bend the knee or else. Let’s stop here and check the score board… Dorne = done, High Garden = done. Unsullied foreigners trapped in a foreign land having to fight their way back to Dragon Stone. So save 3 dragons and the Dothraki who hate water she is the losing side and NEEDS help more than she cares to say but, wait Jorah is on his way to her. So Jon is brooding because he is a prisoner, she says he’s not but he feels he is. She wants to take down Cersei and he wants to defend the world against undead that do not exist. You’d think a woman in possession of 3 dragons would have a more open mind about the undead. Any who.. Jon keeps his own walking dead info a secret and so it goes. Tyrion and Jon get some alone time .. oh wait I did previously mention they would have a talk about Snarks and Grumpkins.. it was mentioned. Ok back to their talk sorry can’t mobilize our army north we need to go south to take down Cersei anything else we can do for you… yeah we need to mine this whole place for Dragon glass to make weapons to kill the undead… talk to Danni sure why not let them have all they want for their pretend war with the undead.. They avoided any slick tricks like you seem familiar or whatever. Danni wanted to attack Euron with dragons for the attack on the Greyjoys and Tyrion talked her out of it. Wonder how well he will be able to stop her once she finds out the new mayhem he has achieved. Ends up with Danni being more civil with Jon and less get on your knees now or be my prisoner. I was somewhat disappointed with a title like the Queen’s Justice I expected some action from Danni but nada. I wonder… is Jorah going to go straight to danni or head to Bear Island to rally support from his family? Would be an interesting twist.

Danni and Tyrion need to re-group and think things out while they sit at dragonstone they have suffered far too many defeats.

Also, going back to the last episode recap, you said, They also all forget what book readers knew as lore. There was a golden age under Targaryen rule a time of peace and happiness before the Mad King.” This is essentially what Danni said to JS during their first conversation.

What role do you think Jorah will play now that Tyrion is the hand? Also, the only three living Targaryens on the same island with three dragons…do we have dragon rides in our future?

Definitely Dragon rides.

Jorah will be foot slave and worshipper I’m sure he will have a place on the Queen’s council as all others are dead ;)

Here is a scenario for you Tyrion rides one of his new friends because they will likely let him. Danni on Drogon.. Jon wargs into one and both Jorah and Davos ride it because Jon is controlling it :p 

Cersei in the meantime lines up and takes her shot to kill one of the dragons but it is Jon who can’t die  dun dun dun…and yes almost like me and the show are in sync on those callouts to book lore

Now based on the trailer for next week Arya reaches home as that is her on the horse looking at Winterfell in the distance. I wonder how much of what she does did Bran see. Danni is done with clever plans because she is losing so yes, we can expect a dragon ride. I wonder though what would happen if a dragon breathed fire on King’s Landing with all that wildfire beneath it? Hopefully she takes out Euron’s fleet.

Re: the old scrolls that Sam has to make copies of…could it be possible that is how the audience learns about Jon Snow’s father? Or do you know/have a prediction about how that will happen?

Steve’s response:

Simple Bran already knows and will make the reveal. As noted Bran said he needs to talk to Jon. Currently Bran is the only one who knows. But we won’t know definitively until Jon knows.

So all hinges on Jon getting back to Winterfell to see his little creepy brother that talks to trees.

Another thing to note. Everyone except Ned, Jon and Howland Reed died at the Tower of Joy. So nobody chronicled his birth for the citadel. And those are ancient scrolls Jon is like 20’s? Those scrolls must be from the long winter or older

“Will I ever know what love feels like or will I forever know what lust is?”

The whole time I thought I knew what love felt like but now I reckon otherwise. Maybe…maybe I was simply “in lust”. Maybe….maybe I was simply oblivious. This person.. I thought he’d be the person I was going to marry. I had all these scenarios in my head. We’d come home from long days at work, maybe eat some pizza in bed, watch a movie or a TV series. Something along the likes of How I Met Your Mother. The season is finished. Super good. Maybe we’d have intercourse a couple of times halfway through but who’d care, right? We’re married! I figured it’d be a wonderful life. Him and I and a couple of kids after a few years. He’d be a great Father. An amazing one. He’d want to teach our children on rights from wrongs and make sure he wouldn’t grow up to be like us and go make sure he’d respect women and that she’d know how to be a fighter and a lady both at the same time. I figured my life was settled. I had the person I was gonna marry by side. It was now or never.

But then I had to leave the country. Things started falling apart and sadly old habits die hard. I don’t wanna get into detail but it really broke my heart. He broke my heart, not once, not twice…heck I lost count. So many times but I still stayed. Stayed right by his side because I figured that maybe it was my fault. Maybe I wasn’t pretty enough, caring enough, important enough, worthy enough. Maybe I was simply not enough. I had no idea. He didn’t show me off online. The first time he posted about me (tbh I posted it myself + he always posted about his exes before and damn he was dedicated as hell) his ex Girlfriend dissed me and he didn’t defend me. Til today he hasn’t defended me once. He lets her say whatever. Saddening? Very. I kept feeling like I’m not meant to be his because we won’t work out due to differences. I should’ve listened to my gut. I shouldn’t have fallen so hard, trusted so much. Now I’m left with shattered pieces of my heart. Or at least I was. I mean, not saying that I’m a 100% a-okay but I’m good enough.

I don’t love him like I did but I hope the next girl loves him as much as I had wanted to. I care for him. I love him. I’m just not IN love with him. I can’t be in love with someone whom I don’t trust, right? It’s hard. It really is. I choose to see the good in people but some people decide to manipulate my weaknesses and use it against me. I’m an open book, what can I do?

I wrote the following sometime around this afternoon.

This is my open letter.

Dear You,

You were once the only person in the world who made me feel special. You were once that person whom I saw myself coming home to 10 years down the road. You were once that person I saw myself being oblivious to surroundings because you were once that person whom made me forget that the past had even existed. I thought we could make it. I thought we could pull through. I figured time would tell me good but time had told me otherwise. You are a very special person, with amazing capabilities. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. We both have our flaws and I’m sorry for mine. Things were perfect at the start but it started falling apart because sadly, old habits die hard. We were a perfect match but sadly the fire extinguished, we burned each other out. I hope for you to find someone better. Someone more willing. Someone more forgiving. Someone more patient. Someone who will listen to you. Someone who will be your pillar of strength. Someone who is meant for you. I hope that she will take care of you and love you as much as I did. And I hope for you to right your wrongs, overcome your obstacles and show the world what you are truly made of. You are both a blessing and a lesson. You made me the happiest and the saddest person. You unleashed parts of me I didn’t even know existed. Thank you for all that you’ve done for me, I will cherish it forever. I wish you all the best for your future and I hope you find your actual True Happiness. ❤️
