So the ADHD Handbook post struck a chord with a lot of people...

I don't think I have it in me to write the book I suggested, mainly because most of what I want to write about is variable by situation. I can't actually offer a magic formula for getting a good assessment, all I would be able to do is say "Here are the warning signs, here's my personal story, shit's just rough". Which I could do but it'd be basically an entire book of "shrug emoji". The best possible way would probably be to offer it as a workbook, like "Here is a page for you to record every communication with the clinic doing your testing. Here is a page for you to write down possible other approaches to getting your medication if the pharmacy is out." etc.

I do think I might write it as a novel of some kind. Possibly even a novel about someone writing a handbook, I haven't decided. I had a dream last night about the book, in which I saw a woman watching a revolution taking place in the distance, thinking, "This is not what I intended when I set out to write a self-help book." Baller way to start a novel, honestly.

Anyway there were several suggestions for books in the notes, so I thought I'd compile those here. I have read none of these, so I can't vouch for their contents, but I'm including what my readers said about them.

@blogquantumreality linked to How To ADHD by Jessica McCabe, who is a well-known ADHD youtuber (I haven't found her videos super helpful but they're also not aimed at me). @knitsinweirdplaces added "The last section of the How to ADHD book is literally called 'how to change the world' and exactly points out we can advocate for a more disability friendly world that traumatizes ADHDer less in the first place. It's the only book I've read that hits the balance of 'your brain has immutable challenges' and 'these strats may help' right. Bonus, it is inclusive of people who use adhd meds and those who don't/can't."

@theindefinitearticle mentioned "I read how to keep house while drowning recently and it's been much more practical for me in terms of actual usable advice." This book has also come up numerous times during National Clean Your Home Month as a helpful guide to cleaning.

Jotting down random ideas I think would work with the Wuwa men

Mortefi with an isekaied/player s/o that tries to explain devices they can't live without. Like a drawing tablet for example (I can't live without mine, I go crazy without it). And he just makes them because he's sweet like that. Bonus points if these things are fidget toys for a neurodivergent s/o!

Lingyang with a traditional singer s/o, like Yunjin from Genshin. I just feel like the dancer/singer combo is based. While from what I remember lion dance stories are solely told from the dance, I just think having a singer in the background would be interesting. Bonus points if they're the same species, like mates or something.

Jiyan with a clumsy s/o, I feel like the scenario of him always being the one patching them up when they cuts and bruises when they were younger really compelling. Especially when they also learn some basic medical knowledge to at least be able to help with patching Jiyan's injuries up.

I've already mentioned Scar with a tsun s/o, but hear me out. It also works with Aalto, he's just very punchable too. Like while I feel like he can hide his affections well, he just chooses not to because it riles up his partner. It's worse when he uses his mist clones to escape when they try to punch him. I can just see the funny chase scene so much.

Risotto

Risotto is very firm by nature. Or, at least, he is after you've met him.

When he finds out you're autistic, he might become a little more firm with you. He puts in place rules for you to follow that may seem a little unfair.

But it's dangerous, being associated with him.

It's not intentional, but he thinks of you as weaker than him. He feels a stronger urge to protect you than everyone else. Everyone else in the Execution Squad have Stands to defend themselves. You may not. He does not want you to be taken advantage of.

It may take a big argument to clear this up, because he's rather dense when things aren't being spelled out for him word for word. At least, in situations like these.

After that, though, he takes more time to observe you so he can note what makes you happy. So he's less likely to upset you in the future.

Ghiaccio

He's definitely a little autistic. I imagine him a little like Sheldon from Young Sheldon LMAO

No but seriously, he's quieter with you. You understand him in a way that's different from the way the others understand him. He still gets very agitated very quickly, but it's different with you.

The two of you can bond over your hatred for textures, too. Velvet or velcro feels like hellfire on your skin. (oops a little projection on my part)

He doesn't ever point any of his anger out on you. And if he even suspects that you might've been upset by his outbursts, he's quick to apologize.

The others make fun of him for it. They call him soft, like snow instead of ice. But he can't bring himself to care. Not when you're the only one on the team that could even begin to comprehend his thoughts.

Melone

Despite his...very obvious gooning, he is still a genius. He's observant, he's technical, and he probably knows you're autistic before you tell him.

He subtly prompts you to talk about your special interests, just so he can listen to you talk. Other than Ghiaccio, and maybe Pesci, he might be the most understanding, even though he's not autistic himself.

He definitely is a little neurodivergent himself, but he's not autistic.

It's not often that he gets you gifts for ur special interest, because he'd rather listen to you talk about it while he's working. It's like listening to a podcast while he works.

He eats all the food you can't eat easily. It's not like he minds.

Prosciutto

Mmmmmm, truthfully, you might get along with him the least.

He's a nitpicker. And, as an autistic myself, I know it's hard to differentiate between when he's just picking at our flaws, or when he's just saying things to say them.

He nitpicks to make you as perfect for him as what he believes he deserves. It's a weird complex.

Someone who's autistic has a harder time just brushing off his coddling and aggressive doting because he's all up in your face about it.

That isn't to say that you don't get along with him at all. He's rather sweet when he's not, y'know. He does things for you, he gets you gifts, all that fun stuff. It's just about the nitpicking that you two get into arguments about, really. Because he does like hearing you talk, and he does sweet things for you, too.

It's really just that one habit that you can't get over. It takes a lot to break him out of it, if you have the patience for that.

Formaggio

He's a great communicator boyfriend. He likes talking to you a lot, and listening to you in turn.

It's a pretty smooth ride into the relationship with the two of you. Since Formaggio is very open to talking out any of your issues calmly, rather than starting an argument, or avoiding a topic entirely until resentment starts to build.

You can appreciate his straight forward attitude on communication.

It doesn't take long for him to clock what your interests are because of his easy communication.

Out of all of the gang, he's the smoothest about how he goes about finding out how to get you gifts. He'll ask you to talk about your interests, which isn't out of the ordinary for him, while mentally noting which things you're more into, which ones you've expressed wanting more content for.

And, what do you know, figurines and books will appear in your room as if Santa came early.

Illuso

He doesn't exactly understand it, or why you act the way you do sometimes. But he likes you well enough, so he's willing to learn.

He takes the food you won't eat, he keeps the textures you don't like away from you. He memorizes what your reactions to things mean, how you stim, even.

Most of this is not intentional. He's just good at stuff like this. He's a very keen people watcher, which is why he's usually assigned to stake outs or kidnappings. (He's a stalker)

He mentions your interests off handedly, just because he likes to see you light up.

Pesci

Similar to Formaggio, he's an excellent communicator. You're a lot nicer to him than his fratello, at least.

He enjoys your straightforward attitude and tendencies. It's a lot easier to understand than Prosciutto's aggressive corrections.

He might be a little dense, so he won't pick up on your autism for a long time. You might even have to tell him straight up that you're autistic because he won't piece it together himself.

But that's okay. He makes up for his density by being a sweetheart.

He also will take the food you don't want to eat. He's not picky.

He likes to learn about your interests so that he can have in depth conversations about them with you. If your interests are a little morbid, he may get a little squeamish, but he can deal with it, he assures you. He's a grown man. In the Mafia. He can handle something a little morbid, he's seen worse.

Gelato and Sorbet

They're a package deal, because of course they are.

Gelato might not notice at first. Not like Sorbet does. Sorbet had actually graduated from university, with a bachelor's in psychology. So he definitely knows you're not neurotypical, at least.

They're both very open to your mannerisms, though. Neither of them are bothered by petty things like how you eat your food or what blankets you like more than others.

They're more than willing to accommodate for you. Changing one thing about their routine is a small price to pay to make sure you're comfortable with them.

Gelato is almost aggressive with how he'll defend you about what makes you comfortable, while Sorbet is a little more composed. But no less deranged, really.

Both of their first instincts is violence, in different ways.

Edelgard has autism:

• Socially, she struggles most situation that aren't politics:

- She tend to understand people pretty mechanically by using her systemic understanding of society, failing to really get them personally until directly corrected ( for example with Caspar or Linhardt support )

- Her attempt to joke seems to all fall flat due to not reading the room ( like her two jokes around the Battle of the Eagles of the Lions )

- She seems unaware when her actions sounds silly to other ( such as her imitations or the BLACK EAGLES STRIKE FORCE )

- While she genuinely wants to help, she can struggle to bring comfort to friends, at least in a conventional manner ( with Byleth after Jeralt death for example )

- She's commonly described as cold and arrogant ( and she compare herself to Byleth who's like, Autism personification )

- She doesn't care how she appears to other, be it during the academy with the aforementioned point ( or how she doesn't wear make up )

• Her preference align with some symptom:

- She enjoys being alone, she enhance the importance of routine for her through her hair and she has "loosing control" as a dislike

- Her obsession with the the crest system and nobility seems to fit a special interest, even at the Officer Academy where she must hide her plans she struggles to keep her mouth shut on the subject to the point it's difficult to imagine no one caught up that something going on ( this difficulty to actually lie despite trying to hide a whole coup fit another symptom too! ). She even randomly infodump about it like when she says "People used to believe the goddess once fell here from the Blue Sea Star, but according to astronomical research, the light from that star takes millions of years to reach us." 🥺

- Furthermore, this obsession seems to stem from an incredibly strong sense of justice which she constantly apply all throughout the game, be it during her support, during personal matter ( like with how she naturally afford real justice to duc Aegir and comfort his son despite the horrors he put her through ) or during the war ( for example when she constantly ask if the other side want to surrender first or spare enemy after the battle, or she insists on fighting at the front with her troops despite the risk )

- She doesn't fit society standards as she reject a lot of traditions and most importantly contest the very system that people consider the "norm" and rarely question. On a smaller scale, she also make "out of box" choices like wearing her weird short when all other women have a skirt in their uniform, being called "Emperor" as a woman or weeding even as the Emperor, wanting an outsider as her successor, how she abdicate, etc .

- This bit is 100% projecting on my part, but her particular behavior with clothes ( her gloves and the need to be completely covered up ) resonate much with sensory issue

As a bonus she voiced by Tara Platt aka Miriel who's undeniably autistic, and she's a Black Eagles which has one the highest neurodivergence concentration with the like of Linhardt, Jeritza and Ferdinand so as their house leader she doesn't have a choice.

( By the way she canonically has PTSD and it's very important to her character, it's sad that so many people erase that!! And as an hc she has chronic pains from the experiment, her double crest and her scars )

I personally don’t hold out any hope that the show will ever cover or explicitly bring it up, outside occasional secondary/metatext, like the pride piece or social media. Ok.” Disclaimer: this is common in lots of media! I don’t intend to say it’s something unique to the H.verse writing. It can happen to anyone, like catching a cold, but it’s the hope that the writing and editing process will catch these instances and make them better, but stuff can slip through, it happens. No offence intended) implies something Less Than Ideal like a harmful stereotype or perpetuating casual bias and then assigning them Morality etc. We don’t need an aspec rendition of the Hays Code/Disney/dudebro film “queer-coded villain who you can tell is bad because they’re queer and that’s bad because it’s not good like the good guy!”

The “You like/don’t like sex/romance? What’s wrong with you? I’m the normal one!” can be toxic/dehumanising in both directions when one side thinks it’s superior to the other. But the common M.O is

- the old “If sex/romance = value/virtue/humanity, Then less/no sex/romance = less/no value/virtue/humanity”

- (Bonus points when it equates sex/romance with the capacity to love and be loved!)

- which when used as an insult is basically just a rehashed cousin of those nice-guy “fuck you you’re ugly anyway” and manosphere “I don’t want to fuck you therefore you have no/negative value”

- weirdly but not that surprisingly, it shares a few vibes with ablism, probably because certain people see aspec as something “missing or defective”. Which has historically been thrown at all lgbtqia+ so it’s sad that it persists from within the queer umbrella

alastor was at the very least allowed a verbal confirmation in hazbin itself so I don't think it's impossible for mammon (or octavia) to have allusions to their asexuality in their show, really I accept even subtext. for mammon it's still not even subtext yet, just word of god. but again, I won't fully judge him as bad rep here because obviously the show isn't over yet so reference to his asexuality could still come up in the future, I just had some hope it would happen sooner than later y'know and also ASMODEUS got to show up in full pan wear but we don't get any reference to mammon being asexual?

I'm a bit worried about the infantilisation too, I've already seen people compare mammon talking about sex as an asexual to being like a child talking about sex

and mammon's constant use of toys in the trial doesn't really help with it, I worry that the logic behind mammon as ace rep comes down to "he's too childish and immature to understand sex and just pretends to understand it when he talks about it like a child" and that's on top of the whole "I can't see him caring about anyone legitimately therefore he's ace" logic which I have ALSO seen people say in response to him being ace

I don't want to assume that these were the actual intentions behind making him ace, of course these qualities can co-exist on top of being ace but the problem starts when you start correlating them and I think it's already bad that these are takeaways some parts of the fandom have

maybe I'm judging too early, maybe I just need to wait for mammon to be referenced as ace in the show itself and see how it's treated. but just. idk. there's just a lot of factors at play that makes me skeptical of him as ace rep, I was already skeptical when he was revealed as ace rep in the helluva pride art but this episode's showing of him has made me even moreso. genuinely, I do think having a canon sex-favourable ace is good! great in fact! but I can't praise it just for that when there's no indication of him being ace that you can see from watching the episode, if there is ever an episode that indicates him being asexual while being sex-favourable then I will praise it

anyways sorry for having topics surrounding ace mammon be so negative, I feel like it could overshadow the fact that I still really enjoyed the episode!!

I watched a lot of stuff again, some even for grad school.

August

Lola Rennt (1998) - banger soundtrack and editing

Vertigo (1958) - the most boring of the Hitchcock films I've seen so far

A League of Their Own (1992) - makes me want to watch baseball

White Men Can't Jump (1992) - did not expect jeopardy to be so important in this film, also loved the fashion

The Fall Guy (2024) - my mum loves the original series so we had to watch this and I had an amazing time

Blinded by the Light (2019) - the dialogue is strange at times but a banger soundtrack (obviously) and some amazing editing, very uplifting and I watched this on my flight to the US btw

Good Will Hunting (1997) - I watched this during my first week in Massachusetts before starting grad school here

Alien3 (1992) - this film says so much about gender, actually

Deaf Smith & Johnny Ears (1973) - taking lots of liberties with Texan history and also surprising homoerotic subtext

Causeway (2022) - a film that I originally only found meh but then kept thinking about all the time

Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) - equally blood libel as the og with an added bonus of cycle of violence, might write an essay about this

Sleepaway Camp (1983) - another horror film that says so much about gender and I could write an entire essay about it

My Best Fiend (1999) - Werner Herzog must be studied under a microscope

We're All Going to the World's Fair (2021) - not as good as I saw the tv glow imo but asking some important questions about online communities and reality

Jacob the Liar (1974) - the film felt a little too empty but I also don't want to say something negative because I am still angry about a bad review I saw

Chris Grace: As Scarlett Johansson (2024) - absolutely transformed the way I think about stand up comedy

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) - the old lie dulce et decorum est pro patria mori

The Shock (1923) - as ableist and racist as you expect from the 20s but with a great performance from Lon Chaney

Trap (2024) - I actually really enjoyed this, even though I was waiting for an even crazier plot twist

Don't Think I've Forgotten: Cambodia's Lost Rock and Roll (2014) - a documentary that nearly made me cry

Hudson Hawk (1991) - technically a rewatch but I need to speak my truth and it's that I like this film

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) - I have so many issues that this would take an entire post or even conference paper

The Russians Are Coming! The Russians are Coming! (1966) - had me in stitches half the time, I love a good cold war comedy

The Bone Collector (1999) - spooky!

Monkey Shines (1988) - also horror and gender but also silly

UPSIDEdown (2013) - I watched this one twice, once with the director, also had lunch and coffee with him, I had an issue at first with how child protection service is portrayed but that part is apparently real, also he cast a neurodivergent kid, which is awesome

The Master (2012) - I love when men are also poorly trained attack dogs, also can you imagine sending that guy to the cult from Midsommar? Also still haunted by Philip Seymour Hoffman

Like Stars on Earth (2007) - neurodivergent kids need neurodivergent role models!!!

The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum (1975) - I have so much to say about this tbh

Farewell Disco (1990) - at first I found this kinda boring but then I was also enchanted by the inclusion of Sorbian culture

The Kangaroo Conspiracy (2022) - just read the books

Srikanth (2024) - fairly standard biopic, meanders a bit but solid soundtrack and performance

Innocent Witness (2019) - this one impressed me so much I recommended it to multiple people, also I'm an autistic person who is besties with my lawyer so bonus points for that, I could talk a lot about this too

Hunt (2022) - Probably less confusing if you know more about Korean history, fun plot twist and imo some homoerotic tension

Scarlett Innocence (2014) - tbh I didn't even watch the whole thing because I don't go for erotic thrillers, I just watched the scenes where Jung Woo Sung is a poor little meow meow

Inseperable Bros (2019) - some dialogue was a bit awkward but that might have been the translation, I like that this was about interabled platonic relationships

Remember You (2016) - the first plot twist is predictable as hell but the second one hit me in the face like a brick

The Childe (2023) - Kim Seon-ho has the range (creepy and babygirl) (covered in blood and coughing up blood)

The Good The Bad The Weird (2008) - not only the best western I've ever seen but also one of the best films I've seen this year at all

Sympathy for Mr Vengeance (2002) - very unsatisfying, but in a good way

As We Were Dreaming (2015) - the German answer to banlieu films, a film about the reunification of Germany from a different perspective than you're used to, despite living decades later and in the west I feel like I know these characters

Transit (2018) - the anti Casablanca, a double exposed picture of past and present, a Kafkaesque limbo of bureaucracy and loss of identity

Berlin Alexanderplatz (2020) - long, confusing, too smart for me and I still couldn't stop watching it. There's something very queer about this film too.

Wicked (2024) - I haven't seen the musical but went to see the film with my friend (and her family) and physically went 👀 to her every time something gay happened. I'm sorry I doubted you Ariana Grande.

Fly Me to the Moon (2024) - I watched this on a terrible transatlantic red eye flight and it entertained me. Unique concept but predictable execution

Debbie Macomber's Dashing Through the Snow (2015) - shout out to the Jewish biker guy handing out free puppies

Round and Round (2023) - Actually a really fun Hallmark holiday film?? And a nice twist on the time loop genre??

Wicked Little Letters (2023) - Very fun to watch on new years eve while tipsy

This one was short and sweet, but I do love getting more insight into the lore of the book. I love it when we get to see new creatures or learn how the world works and this chapter was cool for that. Whats wrong with being openly neurodivergent? It’s another way to connect with people over common ground, and a very gentle suggestion to use tone tags. I see absolutely no issue with this.

We put “fandom dni” because it’s a religious blog and we want our posts to be interpreted that way, rather than headcannons for a piece of fictional media. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but wanting to be taken seriously and being open about our identities aren’t mutually exclusive things, actually. Reddit atheists may say differently though, so you should probably go ask for their input /sarcastic.

I thought this would be kind of obvious, but if you’re tired of seeing a type of content or creator, there’s this really cool option you have, which is to ignore it. So its basically fannon that Hermes is Lin-Manuel Miranda? Now not all Hermes kid's hate their father, but they probably hate his musicals. Imagine the Apollo kids singing different musicals or songs written by Hermes/Lin, just to piss off the Hermes kids.

Like a Hermes kid looses a fight or just falls over and the nearest Apollo kid goes... "Look at my son..." Or a fight breaks out and if even for a second a Hermes kid is near an Apollo kid will back away hands up singing "I'm removing myself from the narrative.." OR two birds one stone and if an Athena and Hermes kid are near one another (Bonus point's if they are dating) an Apollo kid will sing "You've married an Icarus, he's flown to close to the sun" Just because it irritates both of them. Athena kids have a sensitive spot for Icarus.

I feel like demigods don't only have Dyslexia and ADHD I feel like Neurodivergence expands to other area's of the spectrum like Autism. They aren't wired for the human world right?

We know that kids of gods that have beef take it out on each other... I KNOW that the Hephaestus kids mess with the Ares cabin, setting traps and even jinx weapons. They are damn sure smart enough and they cannot prove that it was one of the Hephaestus kids, let alone which one...

this probably extends to Aphrodite cabin too.. Imagine Hephaestus kids sabotaging Aphrodite kids on dates with other campers or just generally being sarcastic.

BUT based on the fact Percy could sneak off in the middle of the night in Episode two, I bet the cabins that feud also meet up. Once a month or something, a couple of the kids who partook in that months shenanigans go somewhere like the beach or woods to 'keep the peace' and they just for a night, let go of their parents fights. Luke is the one who suggested this.

Luke keeps a journal, don't ask me where he keeps it. I know how risky it is for him considering that he's planning to betray his home and friends. But in his mind he is actually helping them, so not only does he keep a journal but he has code words for things like. "The holiday is coming up" for the summer solstice or something.

Luke obviously secretly hates his dad, and while he seems very disciplined and wouldn't let that hatred shine through at prayer time... despite his ability to pretend he's a loyal son, he always prays for Annabeth or Thalia. Sometimes his mum.

Clarisse cries in the shower, you don't get any privacy at camp, the woods have nymphs, so does the lake or river. And she is still a kid, a kid who has to be the big bad daughter of Ares. Even though its not all an act, she still has feelings and she can't express them with her siblings. So she cries in the shower.

Annabeth doesn't really have friends (I know this is kinda cannon) She's been at camp so long that people who join after her seem to assume she has her people, but her people is Luke. She gets along with a couple of her siblings. She very to the point and direct and it kinda push's people away. it's why her and Percy bounce off each other so well and it's plain as day in the second episode.

Both of us work grueling jobs that we are severely struggling with. We are both disabled, trans, and Neurodivergent. I work 8-9 hour days on my feet constantly to the point I've developed a need for a cane just to be able to get by. I'm also AUDHD and have begun to experience symptoms of severe burnout but I cannot stop working retail. Currently the NHS has decided I'm too high functioning/not bad enough to qualify for CBT or other therapies for my PTSD as well, despite the fact I've recently undergone traumatic events and have had multiple breakdowns. So if I want to treat these things I have to pay for it out of pocket and I cannot afford that.

My husband is in a job that has him constantly exhausted from early days and late night shifts, and the environment is not only discriminatory towards trans people but also to those with mental health issues. But again he can't leave his job.

Both of us are at our limit and we need something to change.

Roy Kent Head Cannons (Part One)

for everyone that told me to be a roy blog, i can’t hold it in any longer, here they are

- was raised by a single father until he was 9 and scouted. his grandfather was so involved because his father was always busy working to keep the lights on for him and his sister (he was also pretty distant)

- a gay king, however he had always entertained the idea he was bisexual and didn’t think more of it. it was only after his break up with keeley that he got to thinking about deeper root of the problem with her. when he starts getting closer to jamie it clicks for him.

- he is actually blind without glasses. he wore contacts his whole career but after he retired he just didn’t want to anymore, but he doesn’t wear his glasses unless he’s at home because he’s stubborn (and maybe a little embarrassed) so at work all he sees is just little blobs on the field and he has to guess who is who (spoiler, he’s not good at it so he just addresses them as “that fuck” and points)

- bonus points: jamie makes roy wear his glasses at home because one, he thinks he should be able to see, and two, he thinks they’re super hot (they are)

- i could make a whole separate post for this, but neurodivergent roy!! roy goes undiagnosed his whole childhood and adult life until he starts to talk to dr. sharon and she picks up on some things. most notably his inability to read others emotions (including his own), his anxiety, and his strong attachment such as his career (and football in general) and jamie tartt.

- roy kent is a swiftie. guys i’m sorry i’ve seen stuff saying he hates music and only listens to EDM, but like come on. roy didn’t even know who she was until phoebe started listening to her, and the same thing with frozen, he now knows all the words and will mouth them, and even enjoys her music. however, this is a secret he will take with him to the grave. when jamie and phoebe want to go to her concert he fights tooth and nail but he’s already bought tickets before they even asked.

Ethan - lord of misrule - It was a gift from Lex. He'd been having problem's at work, people leaving Tony bad reviews because Ethan worked there and smelled like w33d, and it was making him feel like a burden. Lex noticed the toll it was taking on him and gave him this to make life a bit easier for the Greens. After Ethan stopped working there, either because he just got a better one at some point after Lex and Hannah left or because the three of them got to California (depending on how delulu you're feeling - I'm going with the second option), he kept wearing it because it makes him think of Lex.

Becky - american cream - It's the same scent shes worn since high school. Tom said it suited her back then. Stanley said it was too sweet so she stopped wearing it while they were married. when she killed him, she started wearing it again. it felt like *her*. it reminded her of Tom.

Emma - 4:20PM - helps her get up in the morning.

Ziggs - breath of god - They used to go to a festival every year as a kid. It always smelled of incense (and w33d but they've got that covered). When they were looking for perfume that smelled like incence they stumbled across this online

Steph - rose jam - She and Pete both got help from an employee to pick out scents. she landed on this

Pete - vanillary - see above (I also think its funny that the perfume is really sweet and he has famously low blood sugar)

The moon’s shining through the window, so it’s not like they’re blanketed in total darkness, but when Alex looks at Henry, and Henry looks at Alex, the shadows drifting over his face, it feels as if all the light has been sucked out of the world entirely.

Off track. Not relevant to Alex’s current predicament, which is perhaps the most damning example of the Claremont-Diaz Paradox. Alex got himself into NYU Law with flying colors and LSAT scores in the 99th percentile, worked his ass off for three years, and graduated with honors and a crippling caffeine addiction. And then, because he is an idiot, he decided to take his JD, his potential, and his mountain of student loans to his brand-new job as a public defender.

Unfortunately, being a public defender pays about as much as working at a Hot Topic. Which means that Alex really needs a roommate. Like, pronto. STAT. ASAP. It’s not usually a problem. But then their building usually has heat.

It's Getting Hot in Here (So Hot!) by Celaestis. E, 10k. Henry’s firm and unwavering belief in Alex’s hetrosexuality does wonders for their relationship. He can coexist with Alex in the same lobby for entire half-minutes at a time while checking for post, he can make solid eye contact during glances in the hallway. Alex is still the most beautiful man he’s ever beheld, and maybe Henry’s hook-ups are tending towards the Latino types more than they ever did in the UK, but still. Alex is straight. Henry is fine about it. Really.

Henry's Brooklyn apartment was a short commute to NYU, and the price was unbeatable, so he agreed to move in without even meeting the man in person. He was nervous, at first, to share close quarters with a stranger, but it’s worked out shockingly well; Henry is kind and considerate, and they mostly leave each other alone.

He’s also quite obviously gorgeous, and Alex doesn’t know why there isn’t a string of men coming and going from Henry’s room at all times, or perhaps one steady man. Inexplicably, Henry seems to have been single since Alex moved in in August.

Pour Your (He)art Out by @athousandrooms. E, 17k. Sometimes, after particularly rough nights, Henry will switch his first Earl Grey of the day for a latte. Alex learns this a month into knowing him. That’s not the only shock of the discovery, though.

“Oh my god, how are you real? Who does casual latte art for themselves on a weekday? Before you had coffee?”

Apparently Henry used to be a barista. Alex pokes at him, tells him it looks easy.

Henry raises his eyebrows, mouth curved at the corners like it’s guarding a looming laugh. “Would you like to try?”

A challenge. Alex loves those.
