I'm glad you agree with Dani having wind powers. I have been thinking about the other halfa's and their powers and why they have them. Vlad is fire, which is volatile and hurts others but it can also keep people warm (perhaps there is hope for him in another universe) and is something often used in human invention and Vlad is very smart. Danny is his opposite, Ice. Unlike fire, ice could be used to subdue his enemies without hurting them (1/2)
(2/2) However Ice is also be sharp and dangerous (he can be mean sometimes) and it is cold, which could maybe represent how alone he feels. It could also be tied into his love for space as space is cold. If Jazz was a ghost, I think she would have water powers, since it's like a melted version of her brothers ice (lol). She is cool and collected and prefers to talk things out and understand rather than fight. She can also be rather overbearing sometimes, like an ocean. Sorry if this is long.
~ ~ ~
it’s interesting to think what the various halfa’s elements would be. makes me think of the into the spiderverse au. i like the idea that jazz would be water. it suits her. cool and collected, even sometimes associated with healing. but equally capable of devastation if used for violence. since psychology is her thing, i’d also draw a comparison to that. it’s used to help and heal, but when used by people like spectra it can be the most damaging attack possible. it can destroy people on a level deeper than physical. i’d likewise suggest that jazz would be the one to figure out bloodbending as a concept for this world, but would proceed to avoid using it. if she ever has a dark dan version of herself, i could see Black Jasmine being far more terrifying than him. when jazz goes bad, she’d go really bad
though in terms of what would push her to that point, it think it’d probably be more difficult and less difficult than what happened to danny. she is all about control and discipline. she’d use denial and psychology to manage for as long as possible. that is if it’s something that no one could have predicted or stopped. an accident. but if say it was a failure on the school or societies part... if say a case of bullying landed danny trapped in a locker during a ghost attack, unable to escape, and he died because of an attack that she was involved in. if he died with her not even aware that he was feet from her and in danger...
well i could see her losing herself in her guilt and anger at the world. he could have been saved. if he wasn’t being bullied, if the teachers had done something, if the ghost hadn’t attacked, if she had known he was there. like i said dark jazz is scary.
that aside, i also want all potential halfas to have elements associated with them now. we’re all pretty much agreed that tucker is electric type, due to his love of technology, but also his impulsiveness. electricity can do a lot of damage when not controlled properly and we’ve seen tucker on more than one occasion struggle with control. he’s overconfident and surprisingly reckless at times. when he’s in his element he’s fantastic but he’s been known to abuse power when he has it. i think that would be his main conflict as tucker ghouly, controlling his powers and using them responsibly.
sam would be representative of the element wood. which is associated with flexibility, durability, and strong emotions. because she’s our resident plant girl. she is willful and passionate but also stubborn and demanding. she demands the most of herself but also others, she wants everyone to thrive but sometimes forgets what’s best for her isn’t what’s best for other. her conflict might end up being empathy, because while she has it in spades, she doesn’t always know how to use it, if that makes sense. she tends to take things as a personal attack on her and her veiws when people disagree with her, which can be pretty dangerous, especially when people absolutely have reasons for their own opinions. she needs to learn to listen to others, if she’s going to be a proper hero
that would leave the final element, metal to val. metal is the most stubborn and inflexible of the elements. she’s strong and disciplined, unyielding in her attacks and views. but as we know that’s for better or worse. she really difficult to convince she’s wrong. she’d probably end up being one of the strongest out of them, she’d figure out the most ways to use her powers and how to shape metal to her advantage. i’m actually struck by the fun idea of val using her metal powers to make jewelry and running a small business selling it. this val would still manage to create a body armor and probably be better at maintaining anonymity with her ghost activity. though i also see her as overworking herself. she tries to do everything and ends up failing classes, alienating her friends, and too exhausted to think straight..she became a ghost before she was friends with danny, so i like the idea of them ending up friends, probably during the flour baby episode, and danny being the one to finally convince her to chill out and manage her health better. full human danny, is still all about helping people and is probably more stable and viably smart when he has time to do his homework. he’d probably offer to help her study and manage her business when too busy, and just having someone to lean on means everything to val.
until of course, plasimius kills jack fenton, and danny goes down the path of seeking vengeance and fighting ghosts. i actually don’t thing they’d know each others hunter identities at first, so they’d initially be fighting for real. danny is almost as stubborn as val. (ice is also inflexable until given the time to melt. and cold and harsh and deadly when angry). i see the green hunter being the most dangerous thing val has faced so far because danny is unrelenting. once she figures out who she’s fighting (i see her giving fenton a necklace of a star when he’s human and hunter losing the necklace during a fight and val discovering it and initially thinking it was stolen but figuring out the truth throughout the episode) fighting someone innocent, who’s justified, but still wrong, she’d be forced to learn to be more flexible and understanding, just to convince danny to stop. because let’s be real, she agrees with danny. plasmius killed his father, if she were in his shoes, he’d do the same thing, but she needs him to understand that she’s not the bad guy. not all ghosts are bad.
she’d also need to learn to be more flexible just to fight vlad/plasmius. because he is manipulative and her straight foward way of thinking and fighting would get her in trouble with him. i could see him framing her for a lot. he’d also be hanging around danny as vlad and manipulating danny that way. she’d essentially be fighting 2 different people who turn out to be the same person. vlad, the billionaire friend of the fentons who’s inserting himself into the grieving family’s lives and encouraging danny to fight vigilante justice. and plasmiaus the op ghost who literally murders people who get in his way. vlad would absolutely do everything he can to keep up the facade of innocent human. leaving all the damage to his ghost half. and val would struggle to prove that he’s evil.
that was a bit of a tangent, anyway. all of the halfa’s having elements associated with them and eventually having an ultimate team up in a universe that brings them together to fight something or another. a team up of the elements. vlad being there and joining the team up as still a villain who the team is suspicious of, but who they need to win. perhaps pariah dark escapes again but this time the mech isn’t available. and danny isn’t strong enough to face him alone. so parallel dimension team up. actually maybe not main danny’s universe. maybe it’s one of the other universes that can’t manage pariah dark on their own. possibly val’s again? if jack’s dead they don’t have a mech. might even be able to incorporate maddie inventing parallel-dimensional summoning in her attempts to bring jack back. bonus points if it’s vlad who’s funding this, knowing full well anyone summon would be unstable and turn to goo soon after arriving.
can you tell i love the into the dannyverse au? this was fun - Hestia

What I Thought About "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" from The Owl House
Salutations, random people on the internet who most likely won’t read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons!
When Dana Terrace did her AMA on Reddit, a fan asked what we could expect for the new season. To which she replied by listing five things:
Parental conflict
A lot of emotions
Island exploration
New characters
...There's a fifth thing in there. You just got to look closely.
Now, when Dana mentioned parental conflict, dozens of fans assumed she was talking about Alador and Odalia, which, I mean...valid. They were the only two parental figures who presented any real conflict, and the idea of Camila being involved seemed implausible due to Luz being cut off from the human world. But no matter how you perceived that line, one thing’s for sure: No one expected Eda and Lilith's mother to be a source of conflict!
Yup. Today we met the woman who created two of the (former) greatest witches in all of the Isles. Was her introduction welcomed? Or did she give the Blights a run for their money for the "Worst Parent(s) of the Year" award? Only spoilers can answer those questions, so keep that in mind as we go in-depth with "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances."
Let's review, shall we!
WHAT I LIKED
The Flashback: Already, this episode comes out swinging by giving us so much information! We get an explanation of what Eda goes through when cursed (which is horrifying), the reasoning behind her gem, the revelation that Eda ran away from home, and the reveal of how she got the portal door. The best part is, none of it feels rushed or forced. Eda's curse and the portal are integral threads to this story, both in this episode and in future ones. Tying them together sets up Gwendolyn's determination to cure her daughter while showing Eda's determination to escape her mother by skipping town into another dimension. There's also a sense of mystery in how and why the portal was in their backyard. And judging by how we got all of this incredible information in episode FOUR of the new season, something tells me we'll get answers to those questions sooner than we might think. This was such a strong opening to the episode. Despite giving so much information, it makes fans like me want even more. Which is an A+ in my book.
Gwendolyn: Yeah, might as well step out the gate in saying that I like Gwen...but I can already see how others won't. Immediately, she sets herself up as a mother who would do anything and everything to cure her daughter. That aspect of her character is perfect, and it quickly won points from me in terms of liking her. It's just that Gwendolyn's disregard of what Eda wants and the complete dismissal of Lilith are aspects of Gwen that are certainly going to rub some people the wrong way. Especially if those kids come from households where their parents are a lot like Gwendolyn. I was in the same boat of hating her too for a while, but thankfully, the last act saved her.
First, there's that scene where Gwendolyn threatened the lives of the demons for not only screwing her over but making things worse for Eda. It's one of those "Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned" moments that I always love to see.
Then there's the fact that Gwendolyn learns her lesson and, more importantly, apologizes. Not many actual abusive mothers would do that (Looking at you, Odalia), so it's nice to see that she makes an effort to make amends. Oh, and by the way, since I mentioned it, don't go around calling Gwendolyn abusive. She isn't. Or, at least, not to my eyes. If anything, she's a lot like Sara Fitzgerald from My Sister's Keeper (The book. Not the movie. The movie sucked).
In that story, Sara makes controversial choices that result in her youngest daughter Anna getting the short end of the stick due to putting all attention towards her eldest Kate. But here's the thing: KATE HAS CANCER! So while Sara's choices are beyond questionable, you can understand her point. And if you don't, well, I'd see how you would react when in her shoes. Trust me when I say that situations like this aren't always cut and dry. It's the same with Gwendolyn. She's far from "Mom of the year," but you understand where she's coming from. She wants to do what she can to help Eda, even if her methods could have been better. But that's just how I feel, and I can't speak for everyone who dealt with mothers far worse than her. If you refuse to forgive her, I'll understand. But to me, I consider Gwendolyn a worthy addition to the series.
(Plus, she just radiates Grandma energy when interacting with Luz. It's cute, and therefore I must love it!)
Luz: This season is on FIRE when presenting Luz!
I adore that the first thing we see her doing in this episode is sleeping after, most likely, another all-nighter to find a new portal. It proves that she has a determination made of iron and an intense dedication to getting back to Camila. In fact, it's that dedication that works as a perfect way to build a connection between Luz and Gwendolyn. They both want to reconnect with their families and are willing to do whatever it takes to do so.
Regardless, despite so desperately wanting to see Camila again, I'm glad that Luz still has common sense when it comes to helping Eda. She quickly sees that Gwen's cures are doing more harm than good, and it's great that Luz is the one to call malarky on the whole thing. No one had to spell things out for her because she's smart enough to notice that everything Professor Warlop is marketing feels a lot more like the fake medicine real people sell in the human world. It's a testament that despite having a big heart and the best intentions, Luz still has the intelligence to know when something is up and put a stop to it. And, again, let's hope that more people pick up on that.
Lilith: ...who would have expected Lilith of all characters to have most of the emotional moments in this episode?! I sure didn't!
But...Yeah. Lilith is the best thing in "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances." On top of her seeking Gwendolyn's approval being relatable for some viewers, it's also really heartbreaking. I mean, listen to the shocked and hurt tone in her voice after finding out Gwen visited Eda regularly. That alone should give away how much Gwendolyn is important to Lilith and says so much about how strained their relationship became after the curse. Then there's that scene where she just breaks down, feeling both scared and torn apart by the fact that she experienced the curse in its full form and could do nothing to stop herself. It...stung. That's the best way to describe it. It stung seeing a character who is (mostly) cool and collective to become so vulnerable and broken. And, you know what? It's because of this that Lilith has won me over. I still don't think she should have been as forgiven as quickly as she was, but after learning what Lilith went through and what she's currently going through, I'm more than willing to be ok with her. And--I can't believe I'm saying this--I'm going to miss her being a part of the Owl House. She earned her place, in my opinion, creating entertaining dynamics with everyone. Sure, she'll make appearances every now and again, but I wouldn't mind a few more episodes with her being with the main group. But I'm positive the writers will have plans for her in the future and seeing how well she was written in this, I can't wait to see what they do next.
King Hoping to see his Dad Again: This was just a cute tidbit that ties nicely into last week's episode. Bonus points for that scene where King and Lilith get drunk off of Night Market ice cream. It got a good chuckle out of me, especially when Hooty was the one who ended up being the voice of reason.
Cursed Lilith: ...How does she look worse and more terrifying than Eda?
How Beast Keeping Magic Works: Not much I can say about this. It's neat to be given a visual explanation of how Beast Keeping magic works and how it's more than just controlling animals. Judging by the roof shingles, it can also be making objects more animal-like. It's pretty cool, and I hope to see more of how the rest of the magic from the prominent covens work.
Luz wasn’t the only human: To tell you the truth, this doesn't surprise me. Eda did say that every myth humans have is a bit of the Boiling Isles leaking into the human world, so why can't the opposite be true? However, the reveal of there being a famous human around many years ago presents many more questions, and possible theories, that deserve to be discussed in a future post. For now, I'll just say that it's awesome how this reveal perfectly transitions us to next week's episode, "Through the Looking Glass Ruins." We already know Luz is going to the library. But, seeing how Gus is going to be a prominent character in that episode as well, he probably wanted to tag along with Luz to study about the first human in the Boiling Isles. Only to then get sidetracked by some cool kids from Glandis. It's in the realm of possibility, thus proving how more serialized this season compared to Season One while still being somewhat episodic. Because even if "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" presents a lot for the overall story, it's still its own tale about family relationships and knowing how to truly be there for the people you love. Resulting in a necessary and cute episode that ends on a wholesome note without any major surprises like--
Creepy Clone Luz: ...
...Dana Terrace, you lying--YOU SAID CREEPY LUZ WAS A FARCE! IN THE SAME AMA, TOO! CURSE YOU! CURSE YOU AND YOUR SNAKE TONGUE, GOSH DANGIT!
...Alright, now that I got my overreaction out of the way, this was an amazingly well-written surprise!
Tricking fans into thinking that Camila is crying over the realization that Luz is gone, only to then reveal this...thing, is the best shock to the system that this series has done so far. Even better, it results in all the right questions:
Who is it?
What is it?
Where did it come from?
When did it get there?
How did it get there?
How does it know about Camila?
And why? Just, why?
To me, a series that presents all of these questions, and makes me excited for whatever answers are given, is a series that's doing something right. Because if I'm still reeling over something that lasts for a second, despite seeing the episode hours ago, that is a testament to how good a surprise really is.
WHAT I DISLIKED
Trust me, I want to give this episode the A+ just for that ending alone. But, there are some issues I have that are worth discussing.
Eda’s Outfit Change: I know. It's the nitpickiest of all nitpicks I could present. Particularly because Eda doesn't even look bad (although that's no surprise). The issue is that it feels weird that Eda's having this permanent outfit change in the fourth episode of Season Two. Or, to me it is, at least. Because I think that if you're going to give a small yet constant change to the look of a character, it should be done right away. Like, in the first episode of a new season. I highly doubt fans would question why Eda is wearing different clothes by then, so it wouldn't be too bad if the first time we see her, she’s sporting a new outfit. Again, this is just me, and I have no problems with the outfit itself. It just seems odd they would do this later rather than sooner.
Screwing with Eda: I...did not like this. At all. It was funny at first to see Luz and Gwendolyn lure Eda with Apple Blood like how Wile E. Coyote would bait the Road Runner with birdseed, but it quickly took a turn. Because I don't want to see Eda meet inconvenience after inconvenience from her mother and surrogate daughter. I like Eda, and seeing her happy makes me happy. If I wanted to laugh at a character's suffering, I would have picked Boscha, Mattholomule, Alador, and/or Odalia. This? This was just unnecessary cruelness to a character who doesn't deserve it. And it takes up a good chunk of this episode, making me question whether or not this would be the stinker I was fearing. Fortunately, the ending increased my enjoyment by several notches, but that doesn't change how this was the low point of "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances."
IN CONCLUSION
Despite the road being rocky in the middle, I still consider "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" to be another solid A episode. The first and last few minutes have some quality writing that adds more to the characters, ongoing plot, and mystery that the series is building up. It's one of those important episodes you can't skip when watching a series, but given how it's keeping the new season's impeccable track record, I fail to see how that's a problem.
(Although, I am scared. We haven't gotten a stinker yet, and I really don't want it to be next week's episode. It's a Gus episode with sweet Lumity content on the side! That cannot fail!)

Hi guys!
(It has been a while since I last posted something)
Welp, today I kinda wanna just post here some ideas/prompts for fanfics (either one-shots or multi-chapter ones) and if anything catches your eye and you have the drive to write it then just go ahead and start writing (if you post it just tag me or sent me the link to your work cause I really wanna read it)
Welp, here it goes:
1. Prompt/Idea #1: Boku no Hero Academia and Pokemon (crossover)
Izuku begins his pokemon jurney in a world inhabited by both heroes and villains. Now he has to deal with: his very much aggressive starter Eevee, the angry and clearly "not dangerous" hero-wannabe Bakugou Katsuki (and his class of superpowered kids), villainous organizations that want to either get rid of him or take his pokemon away, his dead father who is not so dead anymore, Pokemon Hunter J who wants to ... er... adopt him? and many others. Well, at least he is closer to earning every badge and every ribbon from Kanto through Kalos...
Izuku: "This jurney won't be that hard, right?" Famous last words, Izuku.
2. Prompt/Idea #2: Miraculous Ladybug and Animal Crossing (crossover)
Marinette is still bullied by Lila and, just as the liar said, everyone turned their backs on her. Things take a turn for the worst when Lila decides to get rid of Marinette in a more ... permanent way. Now, in an induced coma, Marinette's consciousness travels to another dimension. This one may look peaceful but the inhabitants (why are they all humanoid-like animals that walk on two legs!?) have been dealing with huge and powerful Black Butterflies that have destroyed their homes time and time again. The villagers call this particular city Arcadia and apparently they have lost their mayor a few years prior to Marinette's arrival. To say she is surprised about all this is an understatement, but Marinette is Ladybug and Ladybug always helps getting rid of Butterflies - even if Tikki is no longer with her. Maybe - just maybe - she can start anew here. And who is this cat named Fèlix and why does he seem so... human comparative to the other villagers? Meanwhile, in the real world, with Marinette in a coma, a new Ladybug must show up and Kagami is up for the task. If it means beating some sense into Agreste's and his classmates' heads then all the better. Look out Lila, your days as the queen of the class are numbered.
3. Prompt/Idea #3: Boku no Hero Academia and Yo-kai Watch 1, 2 and 3 (crossover)
At the young age of 10, Izuku is mostly used to being treated like trash. When his childhood friend turned bully dared him to go in the heart of the woods and bring back a ball from the infamous "Cursed Gotcha Machine", well, he wasn't surprised. What surprised him was that he got a ghost butler? and a fancy watch out of this (Not that Kacchan will actually believe him) And now he is able to see what the butler - Whisper - said to be "Yokai". Izuku is making friends - albeit not all are human beings, so maybe he can also become a hero with this watch and with the help of his Yokai friends. (As long as he can keep them from murdering Kacchan..) Navigating new friendships, learning how to love himself and how to let go of friends from the past is already hard enough. If, along the way, he ends up falling for another tormented child who may or may not be able to see yokai as well and whose father is a literal walking flaming trash can, well he will deal with this too.
4. Prompt/Idea #4: Boku no Hero Academia - Otome Game AU
Akatani Mikumo is a 35-years-old office worker who leads a plain life devoid of any amusement. People find him boring or unpleasant so Mikumo always finds himself alone, the moment of his death is no exception. Alone in his appartment who went up in flames while he was sleeping, Akatani Mikumo died ... and in another universe, 6-years-old Midoriya Izuku woke up on a bed with people - his parents? servants of the house? - surrounding him and crying of happiness. Apparently, Izuku almost died from a deadly disease, but only he knows that it is not their Izuku that woke up on that day. Mikumo wants to fulfill the kid's last wish: to keep both his family and the people around him happy for as long as he can. A tall order for 35-turned-6-years-old Mikumo but he can try. Now if only he can remember where did he hear the names of these nobles and why does the word "Quirk" seem so... familiar? Watch as Mikumo navigates life, makes friends for the first time, bullies nobles and, unwittingly, makes everyone he meets fall in love with him.
5. Prompt/Idea #5: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Pre-Calamity setting AU (original take on Link's past)
Growing up, Galahad was best friends with Raphael. Their friendship survived until today and is still going strong, and with kids on the way the two decide to make sure their children will also become friends. Fast forward 10 years later, Link (Galahad's son) and Haruto (or you can put any name you like here) (Raphael's son) live up to their father's legacies - both in friendship and career. Both were blessed with above average skills in hand to hand combat and swordsmanship. However, they never fought in a real battle against the monsters inhabiting Hyrule yet. But, after a mission in which their fathers dissapear, a fairy by the name of Fi - self-proclaimed a messenger of the Goddess Hylia - tells them that they have 1 year to save them from the Yiga Clan's clutches. In exactly 1 year, the Yiga Clan leader will sacrifice Galahad and Raphael in a ritual to awaken Calamity Ganon, believing the two to be the Hero who wields the Sword that seals the Darkness and his Shadow's reincarnations. Now, Link and Haruto need to travel across Hyrule and get stronger in order to save their fathers. While they overcome the trials put on their path by the Goddess, the past unravels itself to them and they might just face a bigger foe than the Yiga Clan - their own self.
(Bonus points if the two meet the pilots of the Divine Beasts and befriend them - yes, even Rivali for all his pride shall fall into the clutches of friendship - before Link is announced as the Hero that wields the Master Sword)
Welp, here they are. These are just 5 of my ideas. Maybe this will become a thing that I will do monthly, who knows.
If you are interested in anything from here or you want more information on one of them, just send a message and I try to reply as fast as I can. If not, then happy writing.
Bye! 🤗🤗

[SPOILERS FOR THE SONIC MOVIE]
Ok, with the new trailer approaching, I thought that it would be good if I made a master post containing everything that we know for sure are happening in the Sonic Movie, thanks to an AMA done back in March.
The AMA was then proven to be true when the Sonic Movie trailer debuted in Cinemacon a month later, matching with a lot of what he said. Then Toywiz accidentally leaked that they were going to do some Sonic Movie toys, and one of them matched again with that AMA. It is legit.
So, needless to say, I’m going to literally spoil the entire movie. From beggining to the end. You’ve been warned.
Direct citations are in “”.
-The Movie is basically going to be a “Sonic; Origins”, it’s going to give backstory to Sonic and Robotnik, it’ll talk about how the two of them met, and how they became mortal enemies.
-Only the Robotnik name is used. No mention of the “Eggman” name.
-He gave the movie a 7/10 grade.
-If he had to compare this movie to a previous one, it would be the 2014 TMNT movie: “Id say it is more TMNT with reference to story and action balance. It's a solid mix between engaging action which continues to develop the bromance between sonic and Tom.”
- The movie is indeed, focused for the younger demographic, but there is some bonus for the long time fans: “ Its definitely being targeted towards youth demo. It seems their goal is to intro sonic to the next Gen of fans. More so with access to their parents wallets for spin off merch and happy meal toys. I enjoyed it similar to seeing transformers. Don't expect the green mile storytelling but turn your brain off and just enjoy for what it is. The cast does a great job”
-About Sonic himself in the movie:
*In order to survive, he keeps stealing stuff and living in the shadows of the Green Hills town. He usually steals food from super markets to eat, and also he steals a LOT of sneakers. He ends up being treated as an urban legend, called as the “Blue devil” by the locals, until he is discovered.
*Sonic isn’t from Earth, he comes from another dimension that is inhabited by other animals like him. Sonic’s past will be explored.
*It’s revealed that he was raised by an owl when he was a baby. Everything seems to point that she is a regular owl, not an anthro one. She eventually ends up dying for some unknown reasons, which will be a “tearjerker” scene.
*”Rings are how sonic got to earth. He can throw one and imagine a place and it will take him. He is fast from his first steps.”
*About Sonic’s ‘eletricity’ powers, he does it only when he focuses or is extremely emotional. His charged run is why he gets detected and why the power on the entire Pacific Northwest goes down and that’s how Robotnik comes into the film.
*But Sonic will need to learn how to control his powers though.
-About references to the old games, he said that: “It’s a good balance between giving the old fans something but introducing him to kids. I went in not knowing it was gonna be screened or any expectations. Cheesy but enjoyed it from start to finish. Jim Carrey kills the role.”
-About the movie’s plot:
* Sonic ends up being far away from his home planet and grows up on Earth. Ends up alone after some time and grew up staying hidden. Loneliness gets to him which leads to him making a massive energy disturbance, knocking out the power on the entire Pacific Northwest.
The government, scared by the blackout, decides to bring in Robotnik to find out why the energy disturbance happened. Hijinks ensue and a good story is told. Tom and sonic become best friends.
-About the action:
“ Action scenes were great in story telling and execution wise. Effects weren't complete so a lot of it was still early cgi and the hidden actors playing sonic. At one point he was just a blue doll on the counter lol”
-The movie is aiming for a PG Rating.
-About Robotnik:
“He's just a psycho super smart doc that works for the gov initially. They give him the power and he goes full Eggman lol. He's super obnoxiously smart too. Makes tons of comments in the film about how superior his brain is lol. Really fun role for Jim Carrey.”
“He doesn’t rock the signature look until tail end of movie. Has the typical long coat and all dark evil scientist look. Short mustache as well initially”
Robotnik trying to catch Sonic eventually makes him go more and more insane and obsessed with the hedgehog. With him eventually getting the “Eggman” look.
-”Lots of humor and fun for all ages. Kids ate the comedy up. Sonic dances right after an short battle and kids about died laughing in the theater.”
-The Chaos Emeralds are NOT present in this movie.
-There is a post credit scene:
“Robotnik is defeated and ends up on a foreign planet [possibly Sonic’s World] that Sonic was supposed to escape to in the event of being found on Earth. He is now hefty and rocking the full blown stache”
- “Sonic and Tom end up helping each other solve their personal conflicts. They balanced Sonic and Tom pretty well and they are a good duo.”
- There’s a scene in San Francisco that is a direct homage to City Escape.
-The only characters from the games that show up are Robotnik and Sonic.
- The movie has one car chase scene. Sonic does the floss to celebrate (that dance that is used in Fortnite) and “the kids ate it up”. About product placement, there is two, one with the Olive Garden restaurant and Puma. Tom also gets a gift card as an apology at the end from the gov guy who initially brings Robotnik into the picture.
-Yes, Sonic will floss in the movie.
- Tika Sumpter plays the character Annie Wachowski. She is a vet that is very gentle with Sonic. It’s thanks to her that Sonic felt that he could trust the Wachowskis.
- In order to retrieve Sonic’s lost rings, Sonic and Tom embark on a roadtrip to San Francisco, using Tom’s Tacoma.
The Tacoma’s roof is ripped out due to the automated car that Robotnik sent to attack them. This leads to a conflit between Sonic and Tom.
-About how Sonic and Tom meet:
“Tom has racoon problems in his trash. When he sees Sonic face to face for the first time. He tranqs him and puts him in a cage.”
Robotnik shows up and they escape and Tom begrudgingly agrees to help. His main concern is moving to SF to prove to himself that he can handle real cop crime and not Montana small world problems. You see it early on for character development.
-The movie’s runtime is around 90 minutes.
- “There were stakes and it balanced between a family adventure and action movie.”
-About the final battle:
" Yeah there's a good scene between doc and the good guys" It’ll be about Sonic and Robotnik running across the entire world using the Power Rings, they’ll end up in different places from Earth, such as Egypt and Paris.
-About Robotnik’s lackey:
Agent Stone is Robotnik’s right hand. He is very funny and a big Robotnik fanboy. He’s super happy to be working with him.
- “Tom was really enjoyable. Fun and backwoods kind of smart. He wants to prove to himself that he can make it as a big city cop”
- The film will begin showing Sonic as a baby. He’ll be saved by an owl, that’ll be sort of like his mom owl. His mom owl dies, and then Sonic will realize that he is on his own on Earth, and alone.
-There’s a scene where Sonic and Tom stop by a bar localized in the American highway path between San Francisco and Green Hills. It’s full of buff bikers, with tatoos and everything. Sonic accidentaly creates a fight in the bar.
-Robotnik has as a part of his arsenal drones, tanks, automated cars, and realistic robots.
-Sonic ends up becoming a sensation in Green Hills, and the locals begin to appreciate him, and begin to defend him.
-How the final battle ends:
The fight across the world between Sonic and Robotnik ends up back in Montana via the rings. The locals from Green Hills help by getting Robotnik’s attention. Sonic then super electro charges a spin dash, and knocks Robotnik into a ring which sends him to another planet [possibly Sonic’s World] and they technically win for now.
-The final battle begins, I believe, at this part:
And that’s preety much it. If you want to see the AMA for yourself, click here.

Will and El Centric Fic List (November 2018)
Here is a list of some Will and El fics! These are centered around Will and El, not just fics that happen to include them, of which there are many. I’ve created an archive for them on Archive of our own with a few of them already there.
If you know of some fics that should be on this list, let me know! I’m excluding mine from the list. Everyone writes way better than I do, heh. If more fics pop up in the future, I’ll definitely make another compilation post!
Alive again by @gazyrlezon
Summary: Will breathed in, deep. He smelt the sweet, untainted smell of the forests, of the bark on the trees and the needles on the few evergreens that grew in the woods around Hawkins. Even the slight smell of corruption and decay which mixed itself into that felt right and almost refreshing....
Review: A cute little short fic. Will decides to go visit El and Hopper in the cabin... on foot... by himself... and he probably didn’t tell anyone he was doing that either. A small hijinks ensues since he doesn’t know of the trap to alert of intruders.
Your Hand Next to Mine by AlabasterInk
Summary: While everyone is asleep, Will Byers and Eleven take a moment to be children.
Review: A sleepover with pals where the two most affected members of the party (Will and El, of course) bond over reading a little bit of Lord of the Rings. Eventually, they decide some drawing would be a fun way to pass the time while everyone slept. But, Will ends up having a mini-episode leading El to worry. And then she remembers a line I believe Will told her once, I’ve always liked this line. “Sometimes, friends lie because the truth is too scary. Not all lies are bad, and truth doesn’t always fix things.”
Sunflower Sister by Kenya_Illian
Summary: "Despite all the awe and mystery that surrounded her in his eyes, there was a strange connection between him and her that was somehow comforting." Nightmares are a permanent part of Will's world. Tragically and fortunately for him, they're a part of El's world too.
Review: Another sleepover premise and Will has a horrible nightmare. Luckily, El is there and is able to stir him awake. Will contemplates all the things he knows about her (which isn’t very much at this point) and he notes how everyone treats her pretty gently or sometimes even fragile, but to him she was possibly the strongest person in the world. They both go to chill since it’s like 2am in the morning, and so Will draws. Betcha can’t guess what. It’s SUPER CUTE. Honestly, this might be my favorite Will and El fic.
Smallest Light by callunavulgari
Summary: In the summer of 1986, Will’s mom marries Jim Hopper. OR, Will and El learn how to be real people again.
Review: This is a really cute snapshot of their lives kinda deal. It starts off with Joyce and Hopper’s wedding. Everything is going well, but Will is having a bit of a heat flash/panic attack and wanders off into a bathroom to relax. Of course, eventually, El notices he’s missing and easily finds him in the bathroom. It’s really sweet. Next it goes through some stuff involving school and growing up of course. Doesn’t adventure too far into the future/
MTV Punk by @gazyrlezon
Summary: “You ran home crying that day, and after that you never saw that freak again. Maybe you even convinced yourself that she wasn’t real, that it was Mike who broke your arm and you just misremembered it. But you didn’t. And in that week, this one freak scared you more than anything else —”Here she turned round, and was satisfied to find him suitably terrified at her knowing all this.“And that freak was me.”
Review: Simply put, and excellent little revenge story. Troy gets his just deserts for messing with her little brother all this time. Doesn’t go too far, but I could certainly see something like this happening if El joins public school eventually and finds out people are messing with Will. Even if she doesn’t join public school, she’d probably show up to school just to do this
that which fate binds together by Whitherward
Summary: Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same.
Review: First of all, I already love the summary. This one is similar to Smallest Light in which it is little snippits of Will and El growing up, but it goes a little further into the future and is more detailed. It’s a 7000+ word juicy read full of feels. There’s two pieces in here I really love that I always remember from time to time. To help her learn how to read aloud and read better, Will “forces” her to read to him as practice. SO AS TIME GOES ON, EL LEARNS TO READ BETTER AND WILL FINDS IT STRANGELY EASIER TO SLEEP THROUGH INSOMNIA LISTENING TO HER READ. EL NOTICES THIS AND CONTINUES READING ALOUD TO HIM LONG AFTER SHE’S LEARNED TO READ BETTER ALL THE TIME. HOW CUTE IS THAT. The other is how Will realizes he’s gay. A+. This is probably my favorite Will and El fic as well. Please READ IT. Squeal about it with me.
Not The Monster by Robertdoc
Summary: Three weeks after the gate is closed, and one week before the Snowball, El finally gets the chance to meet an awake and well Will Byers for the very first time in our dimension. A bonus chapter also gives her the chance to catch up with his mother as well.
Review: Their first meeting <3 It’s so cute. They’re both awkward angels. Will is a bit more excited/energetic than I’d write him to be, but it’s still good.
Introductions by WriterGirl128
Summary: A Will/Eleven friendship drabble that's made up of some headcanons, some speculation, some fic, borderline meta. Post-S02. "They’ve never had a proper introduction, but they really didn’t need one."
Review: This is kinda a plot bunny fic of what they want out of Will and El.
Bang Bang Bang 'til My Feet Do the Same by Barkour
Summary: Will Byers met Jane at the Snow Ball.
Review: Cute little drabble of the kids awkwardly meeting.
it's hard to be brave when you're alone in the dark by cdocks
Summary: after the gate is closed, the splintered remains of a family come back together to make a whole || eleven and mike come to visit will and joyce. hopper is there too. primarily eleven-and-will centric.
Review: A wholesome fic where Will isn’t feeling great and El and Mike come to visit. This fic also has one of my favorite lines. “ Out of all the people she’s met -- and there are only a few, few enough that she can count them and not run out of numbers -- it is this boy she’s barely spoken to who she is most like.“
Guys. I love it when Will and El holds hands. It gets all my feels working. Let them hold hands forever.
More Than Okay by EvieSmallwood
Summary: It’s March 22nd. Will Byers takes a walk.
Review: Certainly fluff, they must be well into high school here. Will wonders off alone at night after nightmare and of course, his sister El is the one who finds him pretty easily. I love the idea in pretty much all of these fics that if one or the other is missing somewhere (especially if Will has wondered off somewhere), El will always be the one to find him. And when he’s cold, she’s one of the first ones to warm him up.
painted new by byzinha
Summary: Will wants to teach El some Byers summer traditions.
Review: A very short but very SWEET little fic <3 Will paints flowers on her hands and it’s TOTALLY SWEET, MY FLOWER SUMMER CHILDREN, PROTECT THEM. Ah, you know what. I drew a fanart referencing this without realizing. I want to do a proper fanart for this fic.
Feels Like Home by Aceofstars16
Summary: A fic focusing on Will and El’s friendship developing and growing, changing from knowing of each other, to being friends, to becoming siblings. A bit of a future AU/what I'd love to see happen in the show.
Review: This fic covers their first meeting and beyond. One part I really love in this fic is when El is hanging out with Will the first time, Will isn’t sure what to do. But Jonathan steps in and handles all the awkwardness between them and then after that, Will takes care of the rest. What a good big brother, leading his little siblings down the right path. And this fic has one of my favorite headcanons, El and Will drawing together~ THERE IS THE CUTEST BIT OF DIALOGUE AT THE END. MUST READ

A couple of random thoughts on the “The True Rebel Princess” AU. Under the ‘Read More’ for length. (Pfft- right, a “couple” of random thoughts. Ha ha.)
Ludo is still Star’s “rival” in this AU. Either because they’ve known each other for a long time with Star unable to take Ludo seriously as a threat because ‘aw he’s just so little and cute! He can’t be a threat to anyone! Come here, I wanna hug you!’ (she didn’t know his family history when this happened) and Ludo’s never quite forgiven her for it, or because Ludo had been planning to steal the wand for a long time only for Star to come charging in and beating him to it so he’s a little bitter about it. This Star, however, isn’t nearly as aggressive as canon Star was in season one. Often times, she and Marco treat the ‘attacks’ by Ludo’s monsters more as friendly sparring matches with his monsters, making sure no one is getting really hurt when they do fight, or they just end up having a fun little get together after Star’s summoned a big but friendly beast to chase Ludo around while they and his monsters have their fun.
Toffee can’t stand Ludo due to his past as a General and how Ludo treats his soldiers. Toffee does eventually pull a similar move as in canon when he gets Ludo’s monsters to stand up to him and give him the boot, but he doesn’t fully take over or take Ludo’s castle. He does use the soldiers when and where he needs them, though.
Buff Frog, Star, and Marco become friends a lot faster than canon. For obvious reasons.
How Buff Frog gets his tadpoles is different than canon as well. Star and some of her monster buddies went on another raid and attacked a caravan that was carrying supplies and, for some reason that Star never wanted to found out, the bag of monster tadpoles. They of course know who to give them to, since Buff Frog is pretty much the mom friend of almost every group he ends up in. Star babysits the tadpoles a lot.
Star actually babysits a lot of monster and Mewni peasant children. While most of the time, her adult monster and Mewnian friends will actually use each other for babysitting, some days they just can’t make their schedules work and they’ll leave their kids with Star and Marco. Everyone loves it since Star’s the fun babysitter and Marco is the Safe Kid.
Every since first arriving on Earth, Star started referring to Toffee as ‘Dad’ full time. Toffee at first is clearly uncomfortable with it, as the conflict of yes this is my daughter’ and ‘NO we were not supposed to get this ATTACHED’ happens every time she says it. It doesn’t take long for him to give in and just go ‘Screw it, this one hundred percent my kid now’. (Bonus: Marco jokingly starts calling Toffee ‘dad’ as well and Toffee’s mind just goes ‘okay know what? Screw it! These are my kids now!’ Jeremy doesn’t realize how lucky he is that Star and Marco are there to keep Toffee from gutting him half the time.)
Toffee and Star sometimes do this creepy, speaking in unison thing when they’re being snarky or sarcastic. It freaked Marco out the first couple of times it happened. He got used to it pretty quick. (There’s even rare occasions when all three of them come up with the same remark/comment and then they all do it. It really freaks people out.)
Star in this AU actually does very well in school. Mostly because of Toffee’s influence and that she adopted his mindset of knowledge is power. While she doesn’t like school itself much, she does do better on the test taking and gets the better marks. Homework tends to be an issue, though it’s not too bad since she’s got Marco and Toffee to keep her on task with it.
Star also isn’t as reliant on magic as she is in canon. Again, for obvious reasons. (She still does play around with it though. And she still accidentally turns her teacher into a troll.)
Mr. and Mrs. Diaz will buy supplies, crop seeds, and even a couple of chickens, sheep, and a goat for the monsters and Mewnian peasants they’ve gotten to know (or know about) from Toffee and Star. They leave the decision as to who gets what to Toffee though, since giving the chickens for eggs and food to an avian type of monster probably is not a good idea (he’s better at matching up those kinds of things). There’s no real reason why they’re doing this; they’re just precious cinnamon rolls who want to help.
Toffee and Star make up being a burden to the Diaz’s by doing household chores and such. (Toffee sneaks treasure and gold from Mewni to the Diazs sometimes as well. They don’t ask where he got it from.)
Star knows Toffee killed her grandmother, but she honestly doesn’t care that much. She never knew the lady, and after hearing Toffee’s reasons, she agrees with him more (not the killing but his motivations and intentions).
Toffee and Star actually stall putting his plan into action because of their concern over losing the Dimensional Scissors and their connection to Earth. After doing some more digging and research they determine that scissors that are already made shouldn’t be too affected by Toffee’s plan. Plus, scientific research and advancements on Earth and other dimensions should be able to make up for it if the scissors are eventually made useless.
This AU’s corresponding events of what happens Storm the Castle is obviously very different. Toffee and Star finally decide to put his plan into action, and in order for Star to perform the Whispering Spell safely, they all (including Marco who isn’t kidnapped) go back to Mewni in an area that’s deserted. Star performs the Whispering Spell then she and Marco get to a safe location (or maybe they created the crystal shelter beforehand; I haven’t decided) while Toffee stays with the wand as it self destructs. After the explosion, Marco and Star return to the area and Star receives her new wand. She and Marco stay even longer though, searching the area for the other half of the crystal Toffee is now in. Before they can find it, however, a royal guard comes upon them having been alarmed by the explosion and thinking it was the monsters trying something. The head of the charge is in fact King River, who upon seeing Star is in disbelief. Star instinctively wants to blast them, but knows better than to do it with a just damaged wand so she instead takes on the cold disdain she learned from Toffee and decides to ride it out and see where it goes (in fact, she’s mirroring Toffee so well that Marco is nearly convinced it is him and not Star). Eventually, she and Marco are escorted to the castle (Star quietly compares the event to being taken prisoner) where River brings out Moon. The king and queen are in shock over finding their daughter, and then over joyed. They of course what to bring their daughter home immediately, but Star firmly informs them that is not going to happen. She makes it seem like she has been living on Earth for the past fourteen years, is not willing to completely abandon the only life she’s ever known, and is in the middle of school and has worked too darn hard on her grades for this year to risk throwing it away just because of family drama. She works it out that she will return to Mewni on the weekends to learn about becoming a ‘proper princess’ and her family, so long as she can bring Marco with her from time to time. After getting that worked out, she and Marco return to Earth so they can adjust to this new development and figure out what to do. The King and Queen, meanwhile, are delighted yet concerned over their daughter’s cool reception but chalk it up to nerves and she just doesn’t know them yet.
Ludo does find the other half of the wand before Star and Marco can, so he still ends up being Toffee’s host. (Sorry Ludo. Though to be fair, Marco did actually volunteer so they would always know where the wand is and Toffee was just ‘if you can find the piece after, sure’ and Star was all ‘Uh.... That’s too creepy for me...’)
Star and Marco don’t met Glossaryk until after Star’s reunited with her biological parents. Their interactions are largely unchanged. Same when Ludo steals the book. (Though Star’s not nearly as devastated as in canon, but she does manage to put on a little show for the King and Queen to make them think she is.)
Star in this AU doesn’t know Tom or Ponyhead at first. Since she wasn’t raised as royalty, she never got the chance to meet them until after this AUs counter part to Storm the Castle. That unfortunately means Ponyhead was forced to undergo reform school without Star, and is suffering the trauma from it when they do meet, and Star isn’t really interested in getting to know her better as a result. When she and Marco do meet Tom, however, all three of them hit it off and become friends almost immediately (Star still has some issues with the whole privileged royalty thing, but Tom’s nice and fun enough when he’s not sulking or dealing with his anger issues that she’s willing to hang out with him).
Every time Star goes to Mewni to be with the King and Queen, she’s just straight up in Toffee mode. She was not a fan of the royal family from the beginning, and unfortunately, witnessing the excess, luxuries, and ridiculous social rituals does not help her opinion of her biological parents. She does grit her teeth and bare it to a point, however, because she does slightly recognize that really at their core they’re not too bad of people. But she certainly doesn’t feel bad about helping her ‘Dad’ destroy the source of their power. (Bonus: she tolerates one puffy princess dress for the ball they throw to mark her return, but every thing after that she wears a suit like her ‘Dad’ does, or something more like a sleek prom dress from Earth. Mostly just so she can move easier.)
That fore mentioned ball is where she and Marco meet Tom and Ponyhead in this AU.
Also, during that ball, there is a special dance set aside for the King and his daughter. A Father-Daughter dance if you will, and they actually call it that. That is the only point when Star’s cold composure cracks slightly. She’s very uncomfortable and upset because ‘this isn’t my dad’ and she knows next to nothing about River as a person. She does manage to get through it, but not without Marco noticing. After the ball, they do discuss it. (Bonus because I’m a sucker for cute stuff like this: after Toffee gets back, Marco tells him about that event at the ball. While Toffee doesn’t normally do stuff like this, he, Marco, and Mr. and Mrs. Diaz set up their backyard like a ballroom so Toffee can make it up to Star. That makes Star’s YEAR because ‘holy cow dad never does dancing with me like WHAT!’)
Queen Moon is honestly very concerned over her daughter’s cool and distant behavior. It is incredibly unsettling to her, but she can’t place the reason why. (After Toffee comes back she realizes it’s because it reminds her of him.)
Face the Music in this verse does not go like it does in canon. Star has gotten so used to these empty, propaganda type rituals of the royalty that she just grits her teeth and gets it done. The song is similar to her mother’s song and everything is fine and dandy. Kinda. Star still hates it.
This AU’s corresponding events to the end of Season 2 and beginning of Season 3 are almost exactly the same as the canon. (Even though Star knows about her grandmother, she pretends that she doesn’t to get the Queen’s side of the story and discovers the information on Eclipsa.) The main difference comes in the King Ludo and Toffee episodes. Basically, Star knows that ‘Toffee has returned’ means her ‘Dad’s’ plan is working like it’s supposed to, and she just needs to meet him at the castle to get him out of the wand. She steals his finger back from Moon and then ditches her at Buff Frog’s house (basically just like in canon). Again, events follow canon for the most part, with some minor changes (like when Star breaks into the castle, she’s actually not in a rat costume or that concerned about the king). Ludo still puts her in the dungeon and she has to convince him Toffee’s in the wand before he let’s her do the Whispering Spell. Unlike canon, Star gets the HECK out of the way when the wand goes off and avoids getting sucked in. She is the first one at the wreckage, uncovering Ludo and meeting up with her ‘Dad’ again as he possesses him. Star is delighted and immediately turns his finger over to him. Which horrifies Moon, as she arrived too late to stop her daughter. Toffee’s rebirth happens (same as canon). And as soon as his finger is completely reattached and he destroys the empty crystal in his palm, nearly all his ribs are broken as Star turned herself into a dangerous projectile as she tackle-hugs him because gosh darn it she missed her ‘Dad’ so much! The first thing Buff Frog does on seeing him again is to punch him in the face because ‘HOW DARE YOU LEAVE LITTLE SWEET POTATO ALONE TO FACE THESE ROYAL MEWNIANS ON HER OWN!’ and then his ribs are re broken again because ‘Yay! Little Sweet Potato’s father is back and safe! And look how happy she is so therefore I am so happy too!’ Needless to say, it’s all very alarming and confusing for Moon, who’s standing almost forgotten in the background.
#star vs the forces of evil#svtfoe#AU: the true rebel princess#This AU is honestly a lot of fun to mess around with

Ten UNDERTALE Fanworks Every Fan Needs to Check Out
It’s February 15th, time once again to celebrate International Fanworks Day! Seriously, how great is that? Whether it’s books, movies, comics, games or television series, fanworks make up a huge part of their communities. This year I’m tackling UNDERTALE, the game that most people (myself included) fell in love with and whose fandom is still going strong more than a year later.
Some of them have been completed, some of them are only partially done, and some of them have been forgotten. Regardless of their status, I think they’re special and amazing and I hope you will love them as much as I do. I’ll do my best to leave out any spoilers.
Death by Glamour
Here’s a neat animatic featuring our favorite human and robot. Animated by Alyssa Gerwing, this video makes their battle look really cool, bringing the fight sequence out of the box and into UNDERTALE’s real world. You have to love the pacing and timing, which is perfectly in sync with the boss music. The facial expressions really give it something extra, whether it be humor or drama. What a stylish video! @walkingmelonsaaa
Papyrus Finds a Human
This animation was an unexpected delight. This was not the cutesy video I thought it would be. With it’s mild swearing and cartoon violence, Mike (a.k.a. Piemations) created a brilliantly funny video. The voice acting is flawless. The punchlines hit home. Papyrus is the best. I can’t write much else without giving all the best bits away. Just go experience it for yourself. As an added bonus, I highly recommend turning on the subtitles while watching the video for the second time. You will not be disappointed.
UNDERTALE ANNIVERSARY
This animation blew me away. I was a fan of iscoppie’s Game Grumps animations before this, but wow. This six-minute video depicts a moment I rarely see people tackle: how Undyne and Alphys met. It’s a bittersweet meeting when you really think about it, and this animation captures and balances all of the emotions involved: fear, hope, resignation, awe. The colors are gorgeous, the voice talent is wonder, and the music is beautiful. This is the best UNDERTALE tribute to date. @iscoppie
The Sons of Gaster
There are many theories as to how, or even if, Sans and Papyrus are connected to W.D. Gaster. One popular theory is that they were created by the doctor. This two-part comic series by sansybones depicts the skeleton brothers’ beginnings: their time with Gaster, growing and gaining independence, and how the two bros become family. The black-and-white style–with the occasional blue–is very effective and looks really nice. I especially love Papyrus’ facial expressions; they capture his personality perfectly. One thing I do appreciate is that this isn’t just a Sans story. Papyrus is just as important and has just as much focus and growth. Sansybones’ depiction of the UNDERTALE characters is fantastic. Their feelings, struggles, and personalities feel genuine and sincere. It’s an emotional roller coaster well worth the ride. @sansybones
They Say He Shattered
I’m a big fan of the multiverse theory. I’ve talked about it extensively in regards to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If you’re like me, then this comic is right up your alley. Emily plays with the idea of timelines collapsing and converging in They Say He Shattered, creating the best kind of mess. It’s a fascinating story that balances humor and seriousness very well. Each game ending results in another dimension, but it seems the very fabric of time and space has been broken. Characters come face-to-face with different realities or feel the effects of forces on their other selves. Some things happen out of order. Some things that never should have been are now possible. It’s really hard to explain, but well worth a read. I’m really excited to get to the bottom of this mystery. @theysayheshattered
A CHARActer Analysis
Normally when we think of “fanwork” we think of art, music, fanfiction, cosplay, videos, and animation. However, this thesis bears recognition. Toby Fox created a cast of characters rich in personality and full of life. Chara is one of the only characters in UNDERTALE to be almost unanimously revered and portrayed as one-dimensional. They’re evil and hate humanity and that’s the end of that. Only it’s not. In this analysis we are shown every detail we may have missed. Chara’s story is scattered throughout the game. There are so many subtle hints and clues that most people wouldn’t notice or even think twice about. This in-depth thesis is by far the best explanation of who/what Chara is, who they were, and their role in the overall game. With all of this evidence, you may find yourself viewing Chara in a completely different light. @thefloweryfanclub
Never a Lovely So Real
The artwork shown above was created by theslowesthnery.
Of all the UNDERTALE AU’s, the Gangster/Mob AU is my big favorite. I adore this AU, and this fanficiton was heaven-sent. Kaesa’s Never a Lovely So Real is loosely based on Hnery’s neat headcanons and spectacular art surrounding the Gangster AU. This story is told from Sans’ point of view as he tries to keep the family safe. You have all of your favorite major characters playing their roles in the operation, while a lot of minor characters show up frequently as well. I really appreciate that Sans and Alphys are science bros and have to work as a team. I normally don’t like a who lot of new characters being added into fanfictions, but here it works. Getting to know the rival gang members goes to show that not everything is black-and-white, especially in these types of situations. Much like the game, the “bad guys” aren’t always bad guys. One of the greatest things about this fanfiction is how much research and knowledge went into it. I was impressed by how authentic this story felt the first time I read through it. Kaesa did her homework and it shows. There’s mystery. There’s action. There’s romance. There’s suspense. This is a great work. Did I mention the Gangster AU was my favorite? @kaesaaurelia
Under Shield
The artwork shown above was created by hamstermastersamster.
Here we have my favorite post-true-pacifist story. Under Shield by Fantasia Wandering is a series of fics told out of order telling of Frisk growing up and growing into their role as ambassador, as well as dealing with their past and becoming part of a family again. Frisk is given a lot of character and background, but it never seems like too much. Frisk is a person with big feelings and big thoughts, and sometimes they can weigh too heavily on their mind. These feelings, accompanied with the struggles of growing up, are relatable to everyone and make it easy to slip into Frisk’s shoes. Although Frisk is the main focus, some of the main cast have important developments as well. One of the most powerful chapters in this series is the eighth part: Penance. Asgore’s redemption arc is a prominent theme throughout the series. He’s not immediately forgiven for his sins by Toriel, or even himself. This in turn affects his relationship with Frisk. It’s a process that takes many years and the reader is there for each important step. This fic’s strongest suit is its stunning imagery. The environments Fantasia has created are painted so vividly. Any reader can picture the settings in great detail. Overall, this is one well-written series. @fantasiawandering
Blood of the Covenant
The artwork shown above was created by donidoodles.
Remember when PTA Sans was a thing? Well, this is the PTA slice-of-life UNDERTALE story the fans deserve. Blood of the Covenant takes place nearly a decade after the game. Everyone has grown up–and it shows–but they still retain their character. Doni’s characterization is so on point. This fic has the most realistic high school you’ll ever find. None of that Lifetime or Disney Channel nonsense here. The history teacher coaches the football team, the PTA is a hot mess, and aside form a few ass-hats the kids are generally nice and friendly. (Is this my high school? I feel like this was based on my high school.) The story’s strongest appeal is that every character’s time is balanced and utilized effectively. This cast is huge and yet every single one of them has their time to shine. I’ve read a lot of UNDERTALE PTA fics and most of them are a lot of fun, but a common trend in those stories is that the human members of the PTA (Linda, Helen, etc.) are usually so cartoonish and two-dimensional, like their only purpose is to be ignorant evil villains. Here our antagonists are fleshed out. They have feelings, struggles, even arcs of their own. They learn and grow just as the protagonists do. This is a fantastic, well-rounded story. I lost so much sleep the first time I read through it because I could not stop. It was all worth it, though. I promise. @doniblogs

This is my favorite pre-game scenario. Out of all the fanfictions I’ve read, this two-part series written by Pen has the best portrayal of Dr. W.D. Gaster and his backstory. The first part of the series, The Scientist, revolves around the life and times of the royal scientist before Dr. Alphys got the job. The passage of time feels seamless, from the point of monsters’ imprisonment to the end of Gaster’s existence. It makes sense and goes right along with UNDERTALE’s timeline. Everything fits together like a puzzle. I could go on and on about the relationship between Gaster and Sans. It is just so strong and told very well. They are co-workers instead of father and son as I’ve seen in many fanfictions. (I prefer the colleague dynamic, actually.) The audience can get a real sense that their bond teeters between healthy camaraderie and toxic friendship, eventually falling to the side of the latter. The second part in the series, Entropy, shifts the focus onto Sans and how he deals with the aftermath of Gaster’s disappearance. It shows Sans’ own decline; he is deteriorating into the character we see in-game. This story is as well-written and intriguing as its predecessor. It paints by far the most natural, realistic relationship between Papyrus and Sans. Their situation, their dialogue, and their banter is so believable. There’s something really pure about it that just makes me smile. This series, you guys. This series. @talkingsoup
