Years after the show ends and there's still this over aggressive attitude about bonnie ships from the same Fandom who ships every other character and their mother with whoever and most got their ships are still complaining about any bonnie shippers shipping anyone I think these people would complain over bonnie being shipped with a bag they are just that obsessed on hating bonnie in every way

I wrote this the other day after seeing a post but reducing Bonnie ships to just wanting to see her fuck a certain character is so tired lol. One it isn’t like Bonnie was shown having sex as often as other and enjoying said act ANYWAY. Two why doesn’t these arguments exist towards other pairings I’ll never know—rhetorical comment I know why.

I’ll be honest I get soooo giddy whenever an ISAT fanwork depicts that the Mirabelle/Siffrin relationship is equally as important as the Isabeau/Siffrin one. Like, it’s not just the romantic relationship that is The Most Important thing narratively+literally, but the platonic one is equally as important too!

People have a difficult time seeing bonnie in a enemies to lovers dynamic with someone because we never got to see it so how would they know if the relationship would work or make sense when they actively avoided any romance elements with bonnie there was multiple times where that dynamic between bonnie and other characters like Klaus kol damon kai etc would make sense any other time they did it so why shouldn't they with bonnie what makes her so different from other characters that they can't see it

Fandoms will ship two het men who simply breathe next to each other but god forbid a Black woman has a relationship with or even just chemistry with the popular male lead. And this happens in EVERY fandom (see tags for examples) with a prominent Black female character. They were even vehemently against Miles Morales and the Black spider girl (Margo).

It’s just very telling that certain people are suddenly “platonic love/besties/sibling energy only otherwise the show is ruined!!” when the fem character is Black.

It’s ok to not ship characters, but the overwhelming backlash to these specific ones has been so ridiculous and very obviously racially motivated. There are articles now discussing whether harmless shipping of two fictional adult characters is acceptable, and on the cover of them is typically an interracial pairing involving a Black woman…
