Everyday resistance

Rebecca Solint wrote an article in The Guardian today, February 3, 2025, in which she talks about other ways of standing up to authoritarianism than street protests and calling your senator. Her article is entitled “Fighting for justice doesn’t have to be a big dramatic act. It can be small."

She wrote that resistance  can be “woven into everyday life and our conversations and outreach communications.” …. “How we talk and how boldly we talk.”

In court this morning in Stockton California, I took a risk and talked about what I had heard on my commute to court on Democracy Now radio show. I learned that Musk over the weekend spear headed a hostile take over of parts of  the US government. I asked three other attorneys what they thought about it. One said that Congress is abdocating its responsibilities to protect the US Treasury. Another said he never thought that he would live to see something like this happen. I third lawyer said she was surprised at how silent people she knows are about the Musk Coup.I told her that here on Tumblr we are not silent. And that, in the future , what we say here will help historians know how we in 2025 handled Democracy in crisis.

In her article, Ms Solnit counsels against sparing with Trump Cultists over what is true. Be careful who and where you talk. But, talk. We need to know who’s there with us through this. We need to share information on the ground, where we live on line and off line. And, we will see what tomorrow brings.

genuinely starting to get second hand embarrassment from seeing Tim still as Robin. Like we can make the forever 17 jokes all we want but they are clearly writing him more than 3 years older than canonically 14 year old Damian. That is a grown ass man arguing with his teenager brother.

And it's like I wanna believe the argument that Tim can transform Robin into a more adult role and away from the kid sidekick thing. But the issue is Damian, but more specifically that Damian's not an issue at all. Damian is doing exactly what he should be doing and what has been expected of him like previous robins and additional robins since Maps is also robin.

Damian and Maps are kids. kid sidekicks. Visibly children. And Tim's so clearly older even without stating his age trying to duo (trio?) with these two high schoolers. It's getting embarrassing.

Are You Tempted By Red Makeup

Red makeup is not for the faint of heart. It is a bold choice, especially,  when worn in such a theatrical way. Now most of us wouldn't wear this as an everyday look unless your an artistic soul. That's why I'm offering some product recommendations if you are interested in trying to recreate the look.

The easy part is that it is just one color you have to use, which is red, so you don't have to worry about clashing colors or anything of that nature. The fun part about this look is the messier the application the better.  It is all about coloring outside of the lines.

Iorfinn

Alias: Iorfinn Redmantle

Race/class: Longbeard dwarf, guardian.

Age: 120 years.

Residence: Járnfast , The Iron Hills.

Occupation: Caravan guard. Warrior.

As ruddy as the iron red hills of his homeland. Iorfinn wears his hair almost always tied up in some fashion. His beard is much the same; adorned with braids and other weaves with clasps of silver hue. His barrel shaped body is well formed, and he seems to have no trouble hefting things as large as himself. Most of the time.

Blessed - or cursed, with a silver tongue and a prose so purple it might be suffocating - his sentences and inflections are often tinged with a flair for the dramatic. A passionate sort of dwarf, he loves his homeland and what he does, and can spend hours talking - and singing! - about such.

If Iorfinn has a weakness, it could be considered those who identify as women. While he's more partial to those with hair on their body and plump, he's been finding the other free people's have their own beauty. This dwarf is very forward when greeting those he finds beautiful, sometimes to his own detriment. But his bold actions are sincere. Naive perhaps, but he doesn't mean harm.

Well trained in the art of war. Though he's shown a fondness for the arts of music and theater as well. May be found writing lyrics or stanzas in his down time.

Iorfinn was born in Járnfast to a prominent longbeard clan. From a young age he trained in the arts of war. He picked up a love of song as well, and would - and still does - sing in the heat of battle. But he disliked waiting in reserve until times of war came or being stationed somewhere else to endlessly watch the horizon for danger. Thus he resigned to become a caravan guard for traders. He would later go on to fight in defense of Erebor from Sauron's forces, and then aid the Gabil'lakka in reclaiming Gundabad.
