Chapter 19 - Always
Preview:
“Everything seems okay. Her vitals look good. She’s able to be discharged tonight if she pleases.” The voice startled Olivia awake, causing her eyes to snap open. Standing bedside were two nurses and a doctor who stared down at her with a smile. “You gave us quite a scare there, Ms. Friedman.” Word continued to spill from his lips, but Olivia took in her surroundings instead, noticing the television was set on Law & Order: SVU. In the corner of her eye, she saw a blob of yellow. It was a bouquet of freshly clipped sunflowers in a glass vase beside her bed. A small smile crept at the sight of them. “Where’s my fiancé?” Olivia finally spoke, finding the doctor’s curious stare. “Bobby Mercer. Where is he?” The doctor hesitated. “Your fiancé and his brothers were taken away by the police about two hours ago,” he confessed.

Domestic Life w/ Jack Mercer
I made this into a headcannonish format because I had too many ideas to fit into just a one-shot. I hope that is okay! Thanks so much for the request @bruhhxiao sorry it took me so long to post!
Child
Jack would be down for adopting or fostering, obviously
Jack would be the best dad no matter the child but imagining him with a daughter is just the most adorable thing
Tries to do hair, might not be the best at it but he tries especially when getting them reading for school; he definitely gets better at it
The way he would smile if they tell him they really like it
You would absolutely watch him from the doorway as he is rocking your child in his arms while humming them to sleep
As soon as they are able to he is teaching them to ice skate, but making sure to watch that they don't fall and hurt themselves
He would be holding their hand while doing slow laps around the rink and if you are good at skating you would be holding their other hand. (I have a headcannon that Jack's SO would be really bad at skating while he is just naturally good at it)
He cooks both you and your child food especially breakfast
He lets them help with baking but is hovering to make sure that there is no accidents in the kitchen
Jack is constantly having to reprimand Bobbie when he is around
"Come on man, don't teach them that"
Bobbie is without a doubt trying to get your kid to cause a little bit of trouble with the purpose of stressing out Jack
Your child loves hearing him play his guitar and will beg him to play it and he could never say no
Partner
So many showers together
Absolutely loves shopping with you, would never treat it as a chore
Pushing the cart, wearing a smile that he can't hold back while watching you internally debate on different brands
He loves lazy mornings with you in bed before breakfast needs to be made
Most of the time he will get up first but is basically dragging himself out of bed after giving you a forehead kiss, letting you stay in bed a little longer
You are making coffee/tea while jack sets the plate in front of child
He will come up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist resting his chin on your head while you prepare your cup

Where Will We End Up? (Headcanons/Context)
In honor of the resurfacing of JATP S2 rumors, here's some context set in the WWWEU? Universe.
Warnings: mentions of absent fathers, relationships with parents, implied hostile home environment, use of Y/N, Alex is Catholic, implied homophobia, female reader (Let me know if I missed something!)
Luke Patterson
Born November 25, 1977 (13 at the start of the story)
The oldest of the group
Born and raised in Canada
Moved to LA when he was 12 for his 8th-grade year
Only child
Lives with both his parents
Has a good relationship with both but struggles to communicate with his mom more
His dad plays guitar and taught him how to play
Has ADHD
Has a slight accent
And a stutter
Started cutting the sleeves of his shirts because too much fabric bothered him
Was overstimulated on the first day of school
He bumped into Alex in the cafeteria causing both of their trays to fall down
It was his last straw and he exploded
“Hey! Watch where you’re going!”
Y/N put him in his place after he yelled at Alex
He looked for them a few days later to apologize
“I uh, brought cookies?”
He brings cookies every time he messes up
Doesn’t have physical boundaries with his friends
It took getting smacked on the forehead by Bobby many, many times for him to understand not to hug him unprompted
Emily loves hosting
The group used to sleep over at Luke’s a lot
The more serious Luke got about music, the more arguments he had with his mom
It got so bad he eventually ran away from home
He actually wasn’t allowed in Alex’s room alone anymore after they got caught kissing
Every time he went over to Alex's the air was tense
He stopped showing up the way he used to, instead opting to sneak in
He picked up a job as a waiter at a local diner
The group loves to go in just to terrorize him
Firmly believes that you choose your family and he chose his
Isn’t bad at school, he just can’t focus on it for the life of him
Gets detention a lot because he gets caught not paying attention
The reason they have a zero-tolerance after 3 tardies rule
He takes boxing lessons with Jose Camacho to release his pent-up energy
Forgets he knows how to fight
Reggie Peters
Born May 06, 1978 (12 at the start of the story)
Third oldest of the group
Born and raised in LA
Lives by the beach
Likes to sneak out and listen to the waves
Can surf
Lives with both his parents
But he doesn’t have a good relationship with either
He doesn’t hate them nor have they directed anything at him, he just wishes they’d listen and spend more time with him
Only child
But he babysits Diego Miller, the little boy next door who he decided was his little brother
He’s not as dense as he makes himself out to be
He just doesn’t like to think about things too much because it stirs his feelings
Really good at Math and Science
He likes that it's logical thinking, not emotional
Doesn’t like English because it requires him to tap into emotions and he really doesn’t want to
He doesn’t like History either because it leaves him bothered by the shitty and unfair past
Has selective mutism
It kicked in badly during one of his parents' fights
The longest he’s gone mute was 2 months
It kicks in every now and then but not for as long and not around everyone
He learned ASL because of it
Sometimes he uses it outside of an episode just because it’s easier
Everyone else tries to pick it up, levels of proficiency vary
He found “Wright’s Domain” a comic book shop one day after he had walked out of his house
He spends most of his Summers there
He sits in the same bean bag
The more time he spent there, the more he found himself doing random things
He’d reorganize comics, reposition figurines and when someone asked him where they could find a specific section he pointed them to it
The couple that owns the store started to notice him
They left snacks by his bean bag chair with a note thanking him for fixing up
He wrote back a thank you with a doodle of himself holding two thumbs up and an arrow pointing out his name was Reggie
The snacks waited for him every visit
His voice did come back, at the shop
He spoke to the owners, Donna and Michael, quite often, they love hearing about his day
He eventually got a job there
Ended up bringing everyone one day
He was a little nervous because the shop was his safe space but so was the group
The owners loved the group too
Donna and Michael live in THE house
Alex Mercer
Born August 23, 1978 (12 at the start of the story)
Second to last youngest
Lives with both his parents
The eldest
He has a younger sister named Sophia
Had a good relationship with both his parents up until he came out
Always watches out for his sister
He plays tea party and dresses up with her
His dad made a comment about it and Alex stopped doing it so frequently
Grew up Catholic
He never really thought much of it until he noticed he looked at boys a lot for being a boy himself
He’s not the biggest fan of it anymore
Was already an anxious kid but as he got older; his religious background, his dad's expectations, and being more aware of the world's problems made his anxiety skyrocket
He fidgets by tapping his fingers on a surface or hitting his thighs with his hands
His parents got him a drum set to help ease it
He met Y/N when they were 7
He defended her against a bully
He got detention
She walked home with him that day and they realized they lived 3 streets down from each other
Really wants to make his dad proud
His dad has a lot of traditional views of men which contradict with Alex 95% of the time
His first crush was on Ryan, a boy he went to church with, but he didn’t know it yet
His stomach dropped when he saw Ryan and another girl share a quick kiss at the park
Developed a crush on Luke
His first kiss and boyfriend was Luke
His dad opened the door to Alex’s room and caught them kissing
His dad stood there, closed the door and walked away
His dad didn’t speak to him at all through dinner
The next day, his dad told him he’d take him to church to repent
Alex said no and came out when he was 15
They got into an argument
His dad didn’t kick him out (to save his image) but told him that until he repented, he wasn’t his son
He was the first to meet Reggie
They’re in the same Math class and the teacher asked Reggie to tutor him
They met up after school twice a week
Alex wasn’t looking for a friend but Reggie being the social butterfly he is, didn’t care
The more times they saw each other, the more Alex got used to him and his antics
He actually understood Math the way Reggie would teach him
One day Luke didn’t want to go home because he had fought with his mom and Y/N was busy, Alex found Reggie to tell him he had to stick to Luke
Reggie told him Luke was welcome to join their session
Luke sat across from them and wrote in his journal but was still fidgety
Reggie cut the tutoring session short and invited them out for ice cream
Alex questioned his life choices as Luke and Reggie’s loud personalities mixed
He initiated his and Luke’s first kiss
And then immediately panicked before Luke laughed and pulled him back in
He was the one who broke up with Luke
There was an awkward air for like 2 minutes before they talked about everything and went back to being best friends
Bobby Shaw
Born March 16, 1978 (13 at the start of the story)
The second oldest of the group
Never knew his dad
Lives with his mom and grandma
Has a good relationship with both
Only child (not really but we'll get into that later)
Keeps to himself mostly
Skates
He paints, though he doesn’t like people looking at his art
Took an art class during his freshman year
He never did anything in class
He’d do it at home and sneak in the assignment the next day, nameless
His art teacher caught him one time and told him he’d leave the art room open for him to do his assignments so as long as he starts signing his name
He spends a lot of time in the art room
Close to the art teacher, Mr. Cervantez
He was the first positive male influence in his life
Befriends Y/N first, she takes an art class with him
He’s actually not sure how to handle social interactions
He’s pretty awkward
He helped Luke on their first week of high school
Luke was being picked on and they had taken the beanie off his head
He stopped Luke from launching himself at the other guys
“Come on guys, give it back.”
One of the guys looked at him questioningly
Bobby stood his ground
The guys tossed the beanie back at Luke and Bobby walked off as soon as they left
Luke approached him weeks later and he internally panicked the whole time
Has problems with authority
That guy that will touch something after you said not to
His grandma hates that he does that but he can’t help it
He’s respectful to both his mom and grandma, no one else really
Lacks a filter, has accidentally hurt people’s feelings because of it
Not a big physical touch guy
He has to be very comfortable with you to initiate touch
All talk
Like he can’t fight
He’s gotten by on physical appearance alone
The guys hide behind him all the time and when Y/N needs him, his tall looming presence behind her has people running for the hills
He’s punched one person and one person only
It was Alex’s dad
Y/N Y/L/N
Born September 01, 1978
The youngest of the group
Only child
Lives with her mom
Dad walked out when she was 7
Her mom started drinking, causing the mother-daughter bond to break
Spends the night at Alex’s a lot
The first time, her bed was set up in Sophia’s room
After everyone had gone to sleep she snuck into Alex’s room
The next day, his parents found her sleeping at the edge of his bed with his blanket draped over the edge also to cover Alex who slept on the floor
After it happened 3 more times, they stopped trying to separate the two
She has clothes in the bottom drawer of Alex’s dresser
Alex’s number 1 protector
They made friendship bracelets, purple yarn for her and blue for Alex
Luke and her = sibling energy
Likes to wear other people's clothes
Makes her feel like they’re with her and she’s not alone
Literally carrying their love with her
It started with one of the shirts her dad left behind
She likes Alex’s hoodies, Luke’s beanies and in the Summer she’ll snag one of his sleeveless tees, Reggie’s flannels and in the Winter his leather jacket, Bobby’s t-shirts and vests
The guys knock on her door when they can’t find the item they want to wear because they know she has it
She and Alex remade their friendship bracelets to include Luke (Orange)
She made them remake them later once Bobby (Green) and Reggie (Red) became part of their little group
All 5 of them wear it no matter what
She likes to draw
Was the first to befriend Bobby in art class
She admired him from afar (because look at him) and wondered what he did, given that he always slept in the class
One time while waiting for Alex and Luke to get out of detention, she walked around school and caught Bobby in the art room
His back was to her and he wore headphones as he painted
She loved his piece and wondered why he never did anything in class
Wrote him sticky notes encouraging him to show his work
Eventually, he wrote back saying he’d reveal his work if she revealed who she was
It was a deal and they started talking more afterwards
Luke was upset when he learned she was friends with Bobby
Mostly because he thought Bobby was a dick (a dick he tried to be friends with first but failed)

Stay
After he and his brothers track down and kill the men who murdered their mother, Jack returns home to find you waiting in his room, and he doesn't want you to leave.
Jack Mercer x f!reader
Warnings: mentions of death/murder/trauma, a little homophobia (Bobby refers to reader as Jack's beard), smidge of angst, comfort/fluff 🥺, cursing, a little mention of sex so MINORS DNI
Notes: This is my first try at a Jack imagine. Hope you like it ☺️ and please ignore how bad I am at titles
Jack's childhood bedroom looked about as you'd expected.
An electric guitar and amp. A stereo with a collection of rock cd's. Band and car posters plastered on the wall. And, of course, a stack of VHS tapes that you probably didn't want to inspect too closely—he'd been a teenage boy the last time he lived there, after all.
You eventually grew tired of looking around and propped his pillow up so you could sit back against his headboard. His bed was a lot more comfortable than the one in the crappy hotel you'd been sleeping in, mostly because it was Jack's, and that meant safety. It meant home.
It was already pretty late when you first arrived at the Mercer home, so you were having a hard time staying awake to greet your boyfriend. Maybe you should've just waited until the morning, but something told you that you might be needed. That was why you'd driven to Detroit with him in the first place instead of making him go on his own. To be there for him during such a devastating time.
You yawned and decided to rest your eyes for just a few minutes, not hearing the sound of the front door, or Bobby speaking a little too loudly as three of the Mercers entered.
"Seriously, Jackie. How much are you paying her?"
"I'm not paying her anything, Bobby." Like always, his brother was just trying to get under his skin. Sometimes, it really fucking bothered him, but after seeing your car parked out front, he just wanted to find you.
He didn't see you in the living room, and just as he realized where you likely were, Sofi came down the stairs and confirmed it. "She's waiting in your room."
"Thanks." Jack took the steps two at a time, passing Sofi as she eagerly went to meet Angel at the bottom of the stairs.
"Hey, she better not think she's staying here! We don't need another La Vida Loca!" Bobby called after Jack, which he ignored, chuckling as Sofi started cursing at the oldest Mercer in Spanish.
Jack opened his bedroom door, cracking a small smile the instant he noticed you dozing off on his bed. He'd had half a mind to have Jerry drop him off at your hotel, but it was late enough that he assumed you were already sound asleep. Now that he knew you weren't even there, he was glad he hadn't gone anyway because he wouldn't have heard the end of it from Bobby.
Your eyes fluttered open as Jack slipped off his leather jacket, tossing it on the chair while kicking off his boots. "Hi," you greeted with a relieved smile.
"Hey, gorgeous," he replied as he climbed into the bed with you.
Even though you'd only been together for about two and a half years, you could read Jack very well. It was clear when he was upset or thinking of painful things, showing right there in his eyes. At that moment, you saw not just the sadness and grief of the last several days, but something else that disturbed him.
You shimmied down the bed a bit and opened your arms, allowing him to practically lay on top of you and rest his head on your chest. "What happened, baby?" You gently embraced him, resting a hand at the nape of his neck.
Jack took a moment to relax in your arms, letting out a sigh as you began to run your fingers through his hair. It had taken some time and a lot of built trust for him to be fully comfortable with that kind of intimacy, and once that happened, he could never get enough. After everything that happened that day, he really fucking needed it.
"I–" He sniffled, blinking back the tears that stung at his eyes. "I saw the security footage. I saw my mom..."
"Oh..." Your heart clenched as you realized what he meant. "I'm so sorry you had to see that, Jack."
"We found the guys that killed her," he said quietly, his fingers toying with the fabric of your shirt. "Angel and Bobby took care of it, but I...I couldn't handle it. I'd never watched anyone die like that." Jack had done some dumbass shit as a kid, but he'd never gotten into some of the more extreme things his brothers—particularly Bobby—did. Not until his mom was taken from him.
The fact that he and his brothers had found and killed their mom's murderers was not a surprise to you. Jack already told you that was the plan, and he'd shared enough about his brothers in the past for you to know he wasn't just talking. While killing was wrong, you had nothing against them getting revenge for Evelyn as long as Jack still came home to you in the end.
"But it's done now, right? You don't have to see that again."
"Nah, it's not over yet. Someone hired them to kill her."
Your hand stopped moving. "What?" Random robbery to contract killing? A pit formed in your stomach at the thought of him getting mixed up with something like that. "Who would want to kill your mom? She was amazing." You'd only ever talked to Evelyn on the phone, but between the lovely conversations and everything Jack ever told you about her, you knew she was a special woman.
"We don't know yet. I'll have to stay a couple more days..." Though it was important to find the truth and get justice, part of him really just wanted to be back home in your little shared apartment. He wanted things to be back to normal—as normal as they could be without Evelyn Mercer in the world.
"I'll add a few days to my hotel," you said as your fingers resumed playing with his hair. The idea of an extended stay didn't bother you at all. You knew he wasn't leaving Detroit until his mom was avenged.
"You should check out and stay here with me." He looked up at you with those soft blue eyes, and you already knew you'd be doing just that with very little convincing. Jack was hard to resist. "I miss you."
"It's not like I'm back in New York." Even though you laughed, you understood exactly what he meant. The cold Michigan nights really made you appreciate sleeping with him. "I miss you, too, but I don't want to intrude on you and your family."
"You're not intruding. You're my family, too," he assured you with a smile, which you returned as you stroked his cheek. "Besides, Angel's busy with Sofi, and Bobby's gonna be annoyed by someone or something no matter what."
You'd only met his oldest brother very briefly, but based on Jack's warnings and Sofi's rant about him when she let you in the house, you didn't doubt that he was a prickly as they come.
Jack watched expectantly, hoping he wouldn't have to spend another night alone. He had a hard time getting rest without you already, but it got worse after finding out his mom died. And he couldn't help the worry that whoever he and his brothers were after could end up targeting those close to them. That you could be hurt or killed just for being in town and being his girl. You'd probably be safer at the Mercer home.
"Okay, I'll check out in the morning."
He let out the breath he'd been holding and moved up your body to place a kiss on your lips. As he pulled back, you gazed up at him with the sweetest eyes he'd ever seen, and he thought for the millionth time how lucky he was to meet you. That you'd happened to end up at one of his shows three years ago was nothing short of a fucking miracle. "I love you."
"Love you, too," you said back without hesitation.
Underneath the rock and roll look, Jack was soft and sweet. You had seen tiny hints of it when you first talked outside of the bar his band had just played in, and he slowly let you in to see the rest. He respected and cared for you in a way that no other guy ever had, he made you feel safe and loved. Knowing you did the same for him after everything he'd been through meant the world.
When he laid back down beside you and pulled the blanket up over your bodies, you quickly turned on your side and snuggled right up to him.
Jack kissed the top of your head and slowly rubbed his hand up and down your back, and that was the last thing you remembered before finally drifting off.
Waking up was not quite as peaceful as falling asleep had been. A loud banging on the door shocked you both awake just in time to hear, "Rise and shine, Princess! We got shit to do today!"
Jack groaned and buried his face in your chest again. Even with Bobby's interruption, he really didn't want to move. After all, that was his second favorite spot to put his face. You were just about as eager to get up as he was, realizing just how much you'd needed this the last few days.
"What a charming wake up call," you said with a laugh, your voice rough from sleep. Considering how he'd referred to you as Jack's beard the first time you met, and at their own mother's funeral no less, a lack of tact seemed to be Bobby's thing.
"You get used to it," he mumbled into your t-shirt. "Unless you changed your mind about staying..."
"Nope." You reluctantly threw the blanket off and untangled yourself from him, taking a glance at your watch. "We've got plenty of time for breakfast, but I do need to be at the hotel by 9:30 to get my things."
Once you stretched and finally got out of bed, Jack sat up and scrubbed his hand over his face, his hair sticking up even more than usual. You went over to his jacket to fish his zippo and the pack of cigarettes out of the pocket and toss them over to him.
"Thanks," Jack said before placing a cigarette between his lips and lighting it up. He took a drag and watched amused as you slipped your shoes on and fixed yourself up a bit because, unlike him, you had a problem with looking like you'd just rolled out of bed.
Satisfied, you leaned down and tenderly cupped his jaw so you could press a kiss to his forehead. "See you downstairs, baby."
Jack's cheeks heated up at the sweet affection, and he blew out a cloud of smoke as you walked away with a sway of your hips.
Yeah, he was lucky as hell.

Jack Mercer x Female Reader
You had just heard the weather report that there was a bad storm coming in tonight and you immediately packed your bag and ran over to the Mercer house. You made it just in time, only getting few drops of rain before barging into the house. "HEY! The door was unlocked again, you guys really gotta do something about that" you said dropping your bag on the couch and walking past Bobby who simply rolled his eyes. "Well nobody expects someone to just barge into their house uninvited" you give him the finger making laugh as you search the fridge for the left overs you had cooked the other night. "Bobby I am always invited, I practically live here, I cook, I clean, I-" you are then suddenly startled by Jack popping behind you saying "oh you do a lot more than that gorgeous." You giggle as Jack wraps you in his arms and starts to snuggle into your neck as he starts to rub his large hands up and down your sides. Bobby makes an over exaggerated gagging sound before complaining "see this is exactly why I'm getting the fuck outta here," he then turns on a heal and starts to walk toward the door. You wiggle out of Jacks handsy grasp to shout "Wait Bobby, there's supposed to be a really bad storm tonight maybe you should stay in" you were genuinely worried not wanting him to get stuck. He then smiled reluctantly "relax, I am just going to handle some business I will be back before the morning, don't wait up.... and don't be nasty in the kitchen" he says before slamming the door on his way out, leaving you and Jack giggling in the kitchen.
After eating the left overs you had made the other night, you and Jack go upstairs to his room. You shower, light a bunch of candles, and change into one of his old band t-shirts before crawling into bed with him. The storm is raging and you're certain the power will go out at any moment but you simply couldn't care less. Jack has you sprawled over him as he rubs your back and hums to you. "Are you going to sleep in your jeans Mercer?" you joke as you look up at him making him chuckle. "No, obviously but I have a very beautiful lady currently holding me hostage and not letting me move." You roll your eyes and gently smack his chest. "Hey I'm not complaining, I would however prefer you like this" he says before flipping your positions so he is now hovering above you and looking down with a devilish smirk, "see? now this is much better" you giggle before rolling your eyes and pulling him down to kiss him. You wrap your arms around his shoulders as he wraps his arms around your waist deepening the kiss and fighting you for dominance. He starts trailing kisses from your lips to your neck leaving little love bites in his wake. He moves his hands from your waist to your hips, rearranging you to lift your leg over his hip to grind himself down against you. He groans deep in your ear making you arch your back at not only the sound but the vibration speeding south and making your head swim. Your eyes are already rolling to the back of your skull and he has barely even done anything yet. But the feeling of his large hands hungrily exploring your body, his deep voice rasping in your ear, his soft lips kissing and nipping at your neck, all if it combined had you feeling so overwhelmed you didn't even realize how loud you had started moaning. He chuckles deeply in your ear "Oh baby, if you making noises like that, it's going to be a very long night for both of us"
Okay so this was just a quick one shot because I am also madly in love with Jack Mercer and I need more content of him. Also this was supposed to be about cuddling with him buuuuut one thing led to another and here we are. Oh well hahahaha!

Babydoll 2 (Jack Mercer x Latina!reader)
Part 1
Two days after seeing Jack at Jeremiah’s house you texted Jack that you were outside. You gave him a day for him and his brothers to settle with each other. It’s your day now and you wanted some Jack time. He sent back a kissy face and you pocketed your phone as you waited next to your car.
A few minutes later and Jack comes running out to you. You pulled him into a hug and breathed him in and held him tight as you closed your eyes. It’s been so long since you last seen Jack. You’ve seen his stories on instagram and some clips he put on TikTok. Seeing how he was doing made you feel better but him being there in your arms was way better.
Pulling back Jack grabbed your face and gave you a sweet kiss. He then peppered more kisses around your face as you giggled at him.
“Jack” you sweetly said as you smiled up at him. He grabbed your hands and dragged you towards the house.
“Let me make you something to eat and then we can chill in my room for a minute”
“Jack I’m not hun-“
“You say that all the time until you smell the food” he looked back at you as he made his way up the steps. You rolled your eyes with a smile and followed through the door into the warm home.
You hung your coat up on the rack by the door and took your shoes off as you followed Jack into the kitchen. Sitting on the counter next to the fridge you watched as Jack made himself busy. You thought about the times when you both were in school. Jack always said he would make you food whenever you wanted and you didn’t ever have to cook when he was around. Your sweet punk rock Jack in his pink apron was all you ever wanted.
You watched him with love in your eyes as he cracked eggs into the pan and scrambled them. He looked up at you and smiled back at you.
“What?”
“Nothing just thinking how sexy you look in that frilly pink apron”
“Oh yea?”
“Mhm”
He walked towards you and put himself in between your legs. You wrapped your arms around his neck and played with hair.
“You look so cute~” you kissed his nose, “my cute little house wife~” you giggled as he rolled his eyes and buried his face into your neck. You brought his face back up and kissed him again. He held you closer as he kissed you back and ran his hands all over your body. Wrapping your legs around him as you brought him closer to you. You moaned as you felt him grind against you. You ran your fingers through his hair as he ran on his hands under your shirt and the other on your breast.
*Ahem*
The both of you broke apart and looked at the doorway. There stood Bobby and his smug smile.
“No sex before marriage” he said as he walked over to the stove and turned it off. You smoothed down your hair and shirt as you looked at Jack. His hair was disheveled and rummaged through. Lips wet and pink from your teeth.
“Morning Bobby, didn’t think you’d be awake at this hour” you said as you jumped down from the counter.
“I thought it was angel and your Tia fucking around in here and was gonna tell them to get out,” you smacked his arm as you went to get a glass to drink some water.
“Not every Latina you meet is related Bobby” you said as you pinched him. He swatted your hand away as you went and leaned against Jack.
“You’re saying that cause you don’t want to be labeled as the crazy Latina” he said as he plated the semi burnt eggs on a plate and started to make bacon. You pinched him again and grabbed the plate and walked into the dinning room.
“You’re starting to live up to that stereotype y/n” he rubbed his arm.
“Yea and you’re living up to the racist white man stereotype, Bobby” you bit back as you grabbed some plates to set. He smiled to himself as he flipped the bacon around.
—
“So angel broke and got Sofi, huh?” You said as you bit into the butter toast. Bobby hummed in agreement as he scooped some eggs into his mouth.
“They been fucking since they came home” Jack said with his mouth full of bacon. You looked over at him and eyed him. He did the same and looked at his plate as he smiled.
“I’m gonna have to tell angel that she can’t stay here. Once she’s here shit gets complicated and we don’t need that right now” Bobby said as he drunk some of his coffee and got up. His plate was finished and came over to get your finished plate.
“Aww let angel have his fun. It’s been a while since they last seen each other.” You reasoned as you got up and grabbed the plate Jack offered to you. You kissed his head as you walked by him.
“I don’t give a fuck. She’s not staying here”
“Who’s not staying here?” Came Jeremiah’s voice as he stood in the entrance of the dinning room. Jack smiled and said Sofi as he gestured to the food on the table. Jeremiah shook his head no as he patted jack’s shoulder.
“Good luck with that” Jeremiah chuckled as he went and gave you a hug.
“You know that boy is strung up on her crazy ass”
“Yea well he can be strung up on her somewhere else” Bobby said as he came into the dinning room.
You made your way into the kitchen and started to wash the dishes. Jack came in a minute later and wrapped his arms around your waist as he set his face next to yours. You leaned against him as he swayed the both of you. It felt nice to be in his arms again after so many years apart. The moment was broken once loud voices were heard from the front of the house.
You scoffed as you finished and wiped your hands on a rag. You pushed the door open and made your way to the couch in the living room with Jack right behind you. He sat down first and pulled you into his lap as the two of you watched the argument Bobby and angel were having.
“Bullshit Bobby”
“I don’t care la vida loca isn’t stayin in this house one more night-“
“Is this your house?”
Both voices start to overlap each other as Jeremiah laughs from the armchair. Jack laughs as well as he rubs your thigh as he brung you closer. Angel looked over and pointed at you.
“So y/n can stay here but my girl can’t?!?!”
“Whoa, whoa, why am I getting brought into this” you said as you scrunched your eyebrows and placed your hand on your chest.
“I’m just here visiting Jackie and then I’m going back to MY HOUSE” you said as you snuggled closer to Jack. He laughed as he wrapped his arm around you and kissed your head.
“Y/n can stay as long as she wants cause she isn’t crazy like someone in this house!” Bobby shouted.
“Oye Bobby por qué no te cállate pendejo!” Sofi shouted from the stairs. Angel went to her to calm her down and tried to make her go back upstairs.
“Hey was I speaking Spanish? Was I speaking Spanish?”
“Hey Bobby you gonna stop talking to my girl like that”
“She wasn’t your girl like yesterday so I’m confused” he said as he shrugged his shoulders and Jeremiah laughing his ass off in the chair.
“What are you talking about?”
“I don’t know I’m just confused”
“She is my girl!”
—
“Bobby you’re so mean to sofi” you said.
“Please I didn’t say anything that wasn’t true”
“Yea but you didn’t have to go about it like you did. You’re too old to be acting the way you are,” Jack massaged your head as you leaned back on him.
“Like I give a shit” he said as he flipped the page to his paper.
“Hey Bobby” came angels voice.
“Yea” replied Bobby.
“I got a question man, you know how me and sofi have made a lot of making up done last night?”
Bobby looked up at angel and then back at his paper, “huh yeah.”
“Well I think I got a little rust on my tool and-“ angel opened his robe to Bobby. He in turned looked and looked away when he saw what angel was doing.
“That’s the cochologist in the shower man I don’t know what I know he’s an expert” Bobby motioned to the shower where you and Jack were in. You chuckled as you switched around with Jack.
He poked his head out and looked down at angels junk, “rug burn.”
“Oh thank god” angel said as he wrapped himself back up and was about to go back out when he stopped and looked at the shower.
“Y/n?”
“Yes?”
“Are you kidding me? So you got a problem with sofi but y/n and Jack can fuck around here all they want-“
“Excuse me,” you opened the curtain and wrapped it around your front so neither brother can see. “I only spent the night here. I’m not trying to live here, AnGeL” you stuck your tongue out at him and then went back behind the curtain with Jack.
Angel was about to say something else but you poked your head out and gave him a look. He quiet down as he looked back at Bobby. Who laughed to himself as he continued to read his paper.

luke patterson masterlist || part. two. || main masterlist
Los Angeles, 2020
The sun sets down behind the horizon, the golden glow reflecting onto the crystal blue water of the pier. A warm breeze blows through her hair, loose strands falling on each side of her face, perfectly framing the gentle nostalgic smile across her lips. She tentatively dips her feet into the cold water from the ocean, the waves crashing onto the shore but the sound brings a sense of calmness to her mind. She closes her eyes, inhaling slowly.
Twenty-five years. It has been twenty-five years since Y/N had last come up to the pier, the memories of her friends too numerous and too painful to handle at the same time. But the pier was their spot, and she can still vividly imagine Luke with his acoustic guitar, or Alex tapping his thighs to make a beat while Reggie and Bobby sang together. She remembers always sitting with her feet buried in the sand, watching as her brother messed around with his three best friends.
She remembers the day she first met them through Alex, her twin brother older by only twenty-minutes. And she remembers when her eyes landed on Luke, and suddenly colours started to flood her vision, highlighting her world. She chuckles at the memory; Alex had been mad for a couple of weeks after finding out, wondering why on Earth his twin sister and one of his best friends had to be soulmates, but he got around it after a long conversation with Luke and Y/N. Besides, it’s not like they dated right away. They wanted to get to know each other better first, and when they both turned sixteen, Luke asked out on an official date.
A single tear falls down her cheek. She was fifteen, when she discovered that Luke was her soulmate. And she was seventeen when she lost him.
—
Los Angeles, 1995
Y/N is in the studio, looking at herself through the bathroom mirror. She’s wearing a white Sunset Curve shirt tucked inside a pair of black ripped jeans. White Converses are on her feet, and she wears a black denim jacket over her shoulders, just in case she gets cold. Tonight is supposed to be her brother’s showcase with Sunset Curve at the Orpheum; they’d been anticipating this day for months now, and she was really looking forward to it. And she knows the boys, they wouldn’t miss an opportunity to celebrate the occasion once the show’s over, and she was not about to ask her boyfriend for one of his jackets, again.
It’s when she wants to reach for her handbag that it happens. She trips over her feet, and her vision turns black for a short minute. Her ears begin to ring, her head pounding as she falls on her butt in a soft thud. She takes her head in her hands as tears begin to roll down her cheeks like a waterfall. She doesn’t dare to open her eyes, but finds herself forced to do so when the phone near the garage doors begins to ring. It’s a shrilling sound, one that makes the pounding in her head grow stronger. Reluctantly, she wills herself to get up, opening her eyes to realize the truth of what had just happened, something she’d feared for two years. It’s the little details she notices first, like how Luke’s usually electric blue guitar is now a dark shade of grey, or how the lights hanging from the ceiling are now a blinding white colour when she looks up. It’s how Reggie’s red flannels he’d left on the couch are now black-coloured ones, and it’s how one of her brother’s pink hoodies that she often steals turns a light grey when she looks at it. She chokes back on a sob as she reaches the phone to answer the call, dreading the news she’d get on the other side. She knows; of course she knows. She can feel it deep within her bones, and her stomach keeps churning and twisting in anticipation. Because hearing it out loud makes it real, and she doesn’t want it to be real.
Y/N never was stupid, and she knows what the loss of colours in her eyesight means. She barely hears the words spoken on the other line as she breaks down in tears, hiccups stumbling past her lips as her headache grows stronger. What was supposed to be the best night of their life had just turned into the worst. Last she’d seen them, they were buzzing with excitement and energy over playing at the Orpheum. Rehearsals had been a blast, and it’s the most fun they’d had in a while. Barely an hour later, she’s faced with the reality; she’d just lost her twin brother, her best friend, and her boyfriend.
She tries to reach out to Bobby that night, but he seems to have vanished from the surface of the Earth. Is she angry? Yes, because he’s the only person who knows the boys as well as she does. She can’t go to her parents, even if she wants to. They’d kicked her out of the house the same night they did Alex when he came out as gay to them. Maybe she could go to Emily and Mitch, but she isn’t sure she’d be strong enough to face them, not when she’d been there when Luke ran out on them on Christmas Eve night of 1994.
She does see them, however, during Luke’s funeral. It’s gut-wrenching, and she barely has the strength to face them. Emily sees her first, and the woman practically runs into Y/N’s arms to hold her close, and the young girl can’t stop herself from clinging onto Mrs. Patterson as Mitch wraps his arms around the both of them. She does see her parents for the first time in a year when they show up to Alex's funeral, one she’d organized from A to Z. She tries her best not to be mad at them, but when her mother comes up to her with a fake smile, Y/N loses it completely. Never had she been this angry in her life, and perhaps it was the grief, but that day she told everything she’s ever wanted to say to her parents, and she stormed out of the service, leaving them shamefaced in the middle of the alley way. She goes to Reggie’s funeral last, and she sees his parents from afar. She’s never spoken to them in the time she knew Reggie, but she knows his little brother and when he sees her, she allows him to give her a tight hug. It doesn’t last long, but it’s enough to give both of them a sense of comfort; that someone shares their grief.
But going to three funerals in a week takes its toll on Y/N. She barely eats, barely speaks, and she spends most of her time locked up in the garage, the owners being kind enough to let her live there until she can find her own place, and she spends every minute despising the beautiful black dress she’d worn one too many times in a short span of days. She lays awake at night, looking up at the ceiling whilst tears fall from the corner of her eyes, low sniffles being the only sound in the quiet studio. Polaroid pictures are scattered on the floor, each with a date written underneath. Y/N had torn them from the walls, leaving them untouched on the ground. She doesn’t have the courage to pick them up and store them in a box, the pain from the memories too unbearable to even look at the pictures. After the funerals, she can’t find the strength to go back to Los Feliz High either, deciding instead to get home-schooled and graduate at home.
On her eighteenth birthday, in the year 1996, Y/N visits the boys’ graves, like she’d do every week for the past year, and she always leaves a bouquet of white lilies on each of their graves. She sits down in front of Alex’s headstone, and she tells him about her day, before she tells Reggie and Luke about their respective families. But Y/N never speaks about her parents whenever she visits, never getting any news from them after Alex’s death.
—
Los Angeles, 2020
Tears roll down her cheeks as Y/N reminisces on the events that followed that fateful night, on her eighteenth birthday. She’d been on her way back to the apartment she was sharing with a friend of hers for a couple months, when her vehicle got caught in an accident. She could still remember the blue and red sirens echoing in the street as she was pulled onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. She still remembers staying in that dark room for an hour before someone came to get her. And as her fingers brush against the purple mark on her right wrist, regrets overwhelm her mind.
Caleb Covington had made promises to her, and she had naively agreed on his deal, with the persuasion that every ghost end up at his club somehow and that maybe, by a miracle, she would find her brother, her soulmate, and her best friend at the Hollywood Ghost Club. But it’s been twenty-four years since she died, and still no sign of them anywhere. Perhaps they had crossed over, after all.
That night, she walks back to the club when the mark begins to burn her skin. Caleb is calling for her, and Y/N knows she can’t mess up her act during the night’s show. With a snap of her fingers, she lands on the scene in the Hollywood Ghost Club, quickly disappearing behind the curtains to go to her dressing-room, where Caleb is probably already waiting for her.
“Ah! There you are, my little dove.”
Caleb’s voice wants itself to be comforting, but after twenty-four years Y/N has learned not to trust his sweet words. She only smiles when she sees him, sitting herself in front of the mirror as she reapplies her red lipstick, dabbing it with her pointer finger. She doesn’t need to look up to know that Caleb is leaning over her, his cold hands on her naked shoulders as he looks at her through the mirror.
“I need you tonight, my little dove.” The magician says, tightening his grip on her shoulders. “See, our dear William has found three new ghosts here in our city of Angels…”
At those words, her curiosity is instantly picked. She lifts her eyes from the dressing table, looking at the man through the mirror, her head tilting to the right.
“Ah, yes. I knew you would be interested, dear.” He smiles smarmily. “I need them working for me. They’re too powerful to be on their own.”
“How so?” Y/N asks, her curiosity getting the best of her.
“They don’t need my help to be visible to Lifers.”
At that, Y/N smirks, noticing the man’s gritted teeth and the frown creasing his forehead. Caleb is all about power; power over the ghosts that cannot cross over, and power over the Living, who are so interested in anything paranormal. She wants to smirk and flip him off, but she decides against it when he squeezes her shoulders between his fingers.
“I need you–” He says, pointing at her through the mirror. “–to convince those boys to work for me. Use your wits, your charms, anything. I want these boys to work for me.”
“And if I can’t?” She asks, her voice slightly wavering.
“You know what happens…”
Caleb slightly waves his fingers, and Y/N’s wrist begins to tingle with a burning sensation. She hisses, glaring at him through the looking-glass before she reluctantly nods her head, watching him disappear into his own dressing-room before the big show. She sighs, taking her head in her hands. She’s gotten used to seeing her surroundings in black and white, and she learned over the years to discern the different shades of black and white, associating them with the colours she used to see. Sometimes, she still longs for the days when she was alive; when the boys, her boys, were alive. A single tear rolls down her cheek, memories of the plans she’d made with Luke rushing back in her mind. Fortunately for her, she doesn’t have time to think much of it when Willie barges into her dressing-room, dressed in black shorts and a tuxedo vest over a black button-up shirt, a pair of black Vans on his feet. Y/N gives her friend a soft smile before a sigh leaves her lips.
“So…” She trails, looking at him. “I’ve heard you found three lost ghosts today.”
“They’re not exactly lost.” Willie tells her. “They have this old band mate of theirs, who stole their songs, and they want revenge, I– I guess? I don’t really know, but I figured Caleb could help them.”
“Are they already here?”
Y/N’s heart, if she still had one beating in her chest, sinks down as her friend nods yes. She has this weird feeling bubbling in the pit of her stomach, just like the one she had the night the boys were supposed to play the Orpheum stage. Her vanishing emotions don’t go unnoticed by William, who sits on the edge of her dressing table, his eyes landing on her.
“Something wrong, Y/N?” He asks her, worry hidden in his voice.
“I have a bad feeling about this, Willie.” She tells him truthfully. “Caleb asked me to–”
She stops herself mid-sentence; can she tell Willie what Caleb asked her to do, knowing the consequences? She doesn’t want to put Willie at risk; he’s her only friend, but everything in her body screams at her to let him know, just in case something happens to her, or to those boys.
“What did Caleb ask you?” William asks her again.
“He asked me to convince the new ghosts to work for him.” She blurts out, immediately covering her mouth with both hands. “Oh god, I shouldn’t have said it.”
“He threatened you, didn’t he?”
Y/N nods, quickly wiping the tears that begin to fall from her eyes with the palm of her hand, sniffling. Willie wraps his arms around her, and she buries her head in the crook of his neck as he holds her close. In their years spent together at the Hollywood Ghost Club, he’s come to consider the girl his sister; someone he could trust, no matter what.
“I know what will cheer you up.” He says after a while, and she looks up to him.
“What?” She asks him, raising a brow.
“Well… I was about to offer you some food, but I remembered you don’t eat before a performance so… how about I take you to meet the boys instead?”
“Why do I feel like you need something from me?”
“I need you to entertain them while I go see Caleb. Please.”
“Are you going to try and convince him not to own the boys’ souls? You know that won’t work…”
“I can still try. If it means you and them are safe in the end.”
Y/N’s lips curve into a thin-lipped smile, holding Willie in her arms for a brief moment before they both walk out of her dressing-room. Arm in arm, they head for the main stairs of the Hollywood Ghost Club.
Y/N freezes when she spots the three boys at the top of the stairs, her eyes going round with shock, lips parted and mouth hanging open. Could it be? Y/N shakes her head; no, it can’t be. It’s been twenty-five years since they passed away, why would they show up just now? They don’t seem to notice her yet, even when William lets go of her arm to poof up the stairs next to them. Her feet are glued to the ground, too afraid to move an inch, but she watches as Willie leans over the handrail and exchanges a few words with the brunet boy wearing a long denim jacket. She watches in anticipation when the boy slightly turns his head, and his eyes land on her at the bottom of the stairs.
His breath gets caught up in his throat when his eyes lock with hers. He knows he doesn’t technically breathe, because he doesn’t need it, but the feeling is just the same. What is she doing here, he has no idea. She was supposed to have gone on with her life, created a family without him. She was supposed to have done everything they had planned together before he died. How is she here, not looking a day older than the last time he’d seen her when he was alive?
She looks as beautiful as he remembers her to be, dressed in a long evening dress with an open slit on the right side, spaghetti straps over her shoulders. Her H/C hair cascades over her shoulders in curls, and her hands are covered by black silk gloves that go up to her elbows and match the colour of her dress. She’s a sight from Heaven, if there were such a thing as Heaven, and if he still had a heartbeat, Luke is certain everyone would hear it beat out of his chest. He isn’t paying attention to either his bandmates or Willie anymore, too enraptured by the sight of her at the bottom of the stairs. She’s the only thing on his mind, and not even the beauty of the Ghost Club would take her away from his thoughts. He watches as she shakes her head, and his eyes finally meet hers as she begins to climb up the stairs.
Gold is the first colour that comes to his eyesight. It’s everywhere; on the walls, on the floors, even on the stairs. Everything in the Hollywood Ghost Club is gold. He sees the red next, like the lipstick on her lips, or the diamond encrusted in her necklace. And blue, like the curtains behind the stage at the centre of the room below him, or the evening dresses some of the women are wearing tonight. One by one, the colours come back to his eyesight, leaving him breathless when she reaches his side, standing by Willie as she links her arm with his.
“Y– Y/N?”
It’s Alex’s voice that pulls Luke out of his trance, blinking and shaking his head as he gathers his thoughts. She’s smiling, that same smile he fell in love with all those years ago, and he sees her E/C lit up with happiness when she finally looks at her twin brother. But she doesn’t move from William’s side, as if she were afraid of something. She only waves her hand in their direction.
“Hey guys.” She smiles. “Long time no see, uh?”
“Y– you guys know each other?” Willie asks, looking between her and Alex.
“Come on, Willie.” She teases him. “You don’t see the resemblance?” A pause. “Alex is my twin brother.” Her brows furrow as she looks back at her twin. “Why?!” She then shouts, letting go of Willie’s arm to slap Alex’s chest repeatedly. “Why did you have to eat those stupid hot dogs?! I– I told you they were bad! Why didn’t you guys listen to me?!”
Willie is the one to pry Y/N away from her twin brother, afraid it might get Caleb’s attention. And the last thing Willie wants, if for Caleb to find out Y/N actually knows them from the time they were all alive. When she composes herself, Alex smiles at her, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. He almost loses his balance when she rushes into him, wrapping her arms around his midsection and hugging him tight. He chuckles softly, wrapping his own arms around her shoulders as he rests his chin atop her head.
“You were stupid, Alex.” She mumbles into his chest, a soft sob escaping her lips.
“I’ve missed you too, sis.” He says, dismissing her comment.
“You guys are idiots.” She sighs when she pulls away, wiping the tears under her eyes. “Why didn’t you listen to me? You were supposed to become legends that night!”
“To be fair–” Reggie joins the conversation. “–we didn’t know they were bad.”
“Uh, I did say it was a new flavour.” Alex corrects him. “And you said, I quote, ‘chill man, street dogs haven’t killed us yet’. And guess what? We died!”
“It doesn't matter, guys.” Y/N chuckles, leaning against her twin. “We’re all together now.”
“What happened to you, by the way?”
Alex wonders, looking down at her. When he came back on Earth as a ghost after twenty-five years and met Julie, he figured his twin sister had gone on with her life when he couldn’t find anything from her in the garage where they used to practice. And since she could see him, and he could very much see and touch her, he figured something must have happened to her to come back on Earth as a ghost.
“I got in a car accident.” Y/N admits, sighing. “On our eighteenth birthday. Talk about luck.”
Y/N runs a hand through her hair, her eyes finally landing on Luke who’d stayed quiet the whole time. Green is the first colour she sees when her eyes meet his; it’s the colour of his irises, and it’s just like the first time they’d met. His hazel eyes seem to be the first thing she’s able to put colours on, alive or dead. The tears brim the edge of her eyes as the colours slowly come back to her, and soon she can see the world as she used to before he died.
“Hey Luke.” She smiles, head tilting to the side.
“I– I can’t believe it.” Luke breathes out, stuttering. “Y– you’re here. You’re actually here.”
She nods, a soft giggle leaving her lips as he engulfs her in a bear hug. He buries his face in the crook of her neck as she wraps her arms around his back, tightening her embrace around him. Y/ relishes in the moment, the feeling of his body pressed against her own as she can feel the ghost of his lips against her skin on her neck. His hands are warm against her back, and she can smell the faint scent of his cologne when she buries her face in his chest. Right now, it’s only them, everything else around them disappearing as they enjoy the moment. Luke only parts away with her when Reggie clears his throat behind them.
“H– how long have you been here?” Luke asks her, reaching for her hand.
“Twenty-four years.” She answers. “A man came for me in that dark room; he said he could help me.”
Her wrist begins to burn at the mention of the man, and she has to hide the wince on her face to not worry the boys. She’d just found them, there’s no way she’d let anything happen to them. But Alex does notice; he knows his sister. And Luke does too. She knows because he squeezes her hand softly, and when she looks at him, she can see the concern in his eyes.
“Are you alright, Y/N?” Alex wonders, worry laced in his voice.
“Y– yeah, I am.” Y/N breathes out, wincing again. “I– I’m sorry, I– I have to go.”
She smiles apologetically at the boys, worriedly glancing at Willie before she poofs herself out of the place, reappearing in Caleb’s dressing-room. The dead magician is leaning against the edge of his dressing table, a glass of wine to his lips whilst his piercing blue eyes are focused on her. She sits on the small couch, awkwardly shifting around under his stare.
“I believe William has introduced you to our new friends, right little dove?” He asks in a sweet tone.
“I won’t do it, Caleb.” She says, her voice a bit more confident than earlier. “I can’t do it to them.”
“And why is that, dove?”
Y/N shakes her head, her eyes sending daggers to the man standing before her. She won’t tell him; there is no way she’d let him get close to the boys, to her boys. Who knows what he might do to them if he knew who they are to her. The only thing she’s certain of, is that he’d use her as leverage against the boys if he knew the real relationship between her and them. She wouldn’t let him own their souls like he does hers, not over fake promises.
“You know what happens, little dove, if you don’t talk.” He threatens her, but there is something else in his voice.
He moves closer to her as she stays quiet, but Y/N can see it in the way he struts over, how he rests the palm of his hands against her naked shoulders and how his lips brush against her earlobe. He already knows.
“I already know who they are, Y/N.” He whispers in her ear. “But I thought your loyalty laid toward me, little dove. I have to say, I am a bit disappointed in you. I had such great plans for all of us. I guess I’ll have to do everything myself then.”
She holds her breath. She cannot let him know that she’s afraid, and that she worries about her brother, and her friends. She barely even has time to comprehend what happens next, as a purple cloud of smoke surrounds her, and she finds herself in her own dressing-room. She hears the lock click but, by the time she returns to her senses, she’s already locked inside the room, with no way of getting out to warn her boys. Tears roll down her face as she faintly hears Caleb’s musical number begin. Y/N knows how the night is going to end; Caleb will get what he wants, and she will suffer the consequences of her actions. But she knows her boys, and she’s persuaded they won’t comply with Caleb's demands. She hopes they won’t. And besides, as long as she can see the colours around her, she knows they are doing fine. Because, if Luke is alright, Alex and Reggie are too. That night, she promises herself to do anything in her power to get back to them, to Luke, and to finally free herself from Caleb.

Please Don't Go
Jack Mercer x Reader
Summary: you had known Jack for years, and even gotten into a relationship. When the two of you join his brothers for their mother's funeral, you weren't expecting this outcome.
WARNING(S): Four Brothers spoilers, major character death, angst, swearing.
It had happened so fast.
While Angel and Bobby were busy interrogating Jeremiah, a knock was heard at the front door.
Curious, you had followed Jack to see who had knocked, as it was unusual for the Mercer household.
The two of you were met with a masked man, insulting Evelyn and throwing a snowball at Jack's face before beginning to walk away.
You should have stopped him. Should've grabbed his arm and told him it wasn't worth it. Lead him back to the couch to just forget about it.
Instead, you watched as he ran out towards the masked guy, anger raging through him not only because of the insult of his mom, but the snowball as well.
As you saw the man begin to pull out a gun, you found yourself running, by no volition of your own.
You heard someone calling yours and Jack's names, it was most likely Bobby. But you didn't care enough to think about it.
As you got closer, a gunshot rang out. And then another. And then multiple more.
You didn't know if you were one of the ones who got shot, and hell, maybe you were. But your focus was on your boyfriend, bleeding out and laying in the snow, calling out to you and Bobby with a rack of sobs.
You stumbled towards him, facing your back towards the shooters as if that would help Jack stay alive, though you knew better.
Your ears began to ring, the gunshots blurred with the yells, your heart thumping hard in your chest.
Your hands found themselves trying to cover his wounds as he grabbed onto you for dear life. He was scared, and not just for himself anymore.
You were actively putting yourself in danger. He was trying to get you to lay low or to find a spot in which they wouldn't be able to hit you, but that distant look in your eyes told him you weren't listening.
Almost unconsciously, you began to mumble comforting words to him. Whether it was really for yourself, him, or both of you, you didn't know.
One shot.
Two shots.
And suddenly, none.
Bobby, Angel, and Jeremiah made their way to the two of you, Bobby holding onto Jack who was now laying in your lap.
You couldn't tell what the boys were saying, but the yells were obvious. They were trying to have someone call 911.
"Please don't go." You found yourself begging, eyes downcast and cloudy as you looked down at Jack, one of your hands going through his hair in a comforting manner like you always had.
His eyes greeted yours, a smile on his face as blood poured from his throat.
"Shit, she's hit too!" Angel shouted as he noticed that the pooling blood wasn't just from Jack.
You didn't care, all that mattered to you was keeping the boy in your arms alive. But it was too late, he was gone. His skin cold against your own as your hand kept caressing his hair in that gentle, comforting way.
Darkness began to consume your sight, the adrenaline beginning to wear off as the gunshot wounds took over.
Bobby was holding your face in his hands as you felt yourself get weaker, "now don't you die on me too, ya hear?!" He cried, he was desperate. He had already lost his mom, and now his brother. He couldn't lose you too.
"Sorry, Bobby." You grinned with what little strength you had left, just to sass the man in front of you before death took a hold of you.
"No, don't you do that shit to me. Don't you do that shit!-"
That was the last thing you heard before you collapsed.

☆Number - Jack Mercer x Reader
☆ idc Jack Mercer doesn’t have enough fanfics so I’m here to serve justice.
☆Would recommend listening to ‘You Can Be The Boss’ by Lana Del Rey
Content: Mentions of drugs alcohol, suggestive language, mentions of gang violence
~و✧…彡☆ - btw pretend Jack survived x
彡☆ 2005 19:36PM
‘This job is honestly ass’ I said to my most common customer, and closest friend, Sofi. It was true, I hated my job, it was a fucking shithole, I mean it was a dingy bar in the rough parts of Detroit, a little girl’s dream clearly.
‘Aye (name) don’t be so silly, it pays the bills, and plus, you get a lot of guys working here.’ She wasn’t wrong, I mean it did pay the bills after all but the amount of guys that I didn’t want? Uncountable.
‘I know Sof’, but they’re all ugly most of the time, plus, when they’re that pissed out of their minds, ‘no’ doesn’t compute easy, they got determination I’ll say that. Gets me a few tips I suppose.’ I laughed, cleaning the nearby table where Sofi sat. ‘Speaking of guys, can’t believe you’re seeing that Angel Mercer again!’ I asked, sitting next to her and nudging her shoulder.
‘I don’t like the way you said ‘Again’ but at least I have a man. Though, how old are you now?’ She asked, smiling at the ground when she answered about Angel, absolutely smitten, is the only words I could describe her.
‘Twentyyy... one?’ I questioned myself as I pulled out my ID, just double checking I was actually 21.
‘You really think that checking your ID is going to help? How many fake IDs did you have when you were 17 to get cigarettes?’ Me and Sofi go back to when I was 17 and freshly moved to America, she lived in the apartment next to me and we’d been best friends since she welcomed me into the new apartment.
‘Shut up girl, this is a real one, and I am right I’m 21.’ I laughed, smacking my ID on the table.
‘Okay okay, anywho, Angel has a brother, Jack who’s the same age as you, and he got shot recently, he’s getting out of hospital today and a little birdie told me him and his brothers are coming here in an hour or so to celebrate.’ She suggested, walking over to the bar.
‘Oh yeah? Well from what you’ve told me the birdie is actually quite big.’ I smirk as I pour myself a pint from the tap, Sofi hit me on my arm, telling me to shut up in Spanish. I love Sofi but she loves to overshare about her sex life, but it’s fun to mess with her about it.
…彡☆ 19:54PM
A few moments passed, as me and Sofi just talked about random things, about how crazy it was that Victor Sweet had finally been killed, what Sofi wanted to do career wise etc. When all of a sudden, a bunch of loud men burst through the door, as I recognise a very familiar face.
‘Jerry!’
‘(Name)! What’s goin’ on baby?’ He said as he approached the bar, politely shaking my hand, Jerry was like a big brother to me, always nice and fair.
‘Nothin’ much, your wife know you here? I can call her right now if she don’t.’
‘Nah she knows, I’m truthful to my lady, and seeing as I’m so truthful, can we get a few rounds free?’
I laughed and nodded saying as long as I got tipped I’d give them whatever.
‘Bullshit Jerry, we all keep secrets here.’ A bloke in leather, with a goatee sort of thing going on says, laughing and hitting his back.
‘Man shut the fuck up before I woop yo’ white ass. (Name), these are my brothers Bobby, Jack and Angel, I guess you’re already acquainted with Angel here.’
‘Yeah man, it’s hard not to know who Angel is when all I hear in my apartment is those two getting it on.’ I say, lighting a cigarette whilst directioning my hand to Sofi and Angel.
Then I looked at Jack, and all I thought was ‘Damn he’s fine’.
‘So you lovely ladies want tables or are you gonna keep me company and sit at the bar?’
‘I think the guys are alright with sitting at the bar, right guys?’ Jerry said, asking his brothers, they all nodded and agreed as they took seats at the bar.
‘Can I get a beer?’ The one who I assumed was Bobby, asked.
‘Can you be specific, Guiness? Heineken? A pint? Half-pint? And I don’t know maybe a please?’ I chuckled, directioning to the amount of beers there were to choose from
‘She had you on that one Bobby, she’s very passionate about her alcohol.’ Angel said.
‘And why’s that, you an alcoholic or somethin?’
‘No, I don’t know if you can tell from the accent but it’s just from being English really.’ I could see Jack’s eyebrows raise slightly, he was really cute.
‘Ah, I don’t know man just give me a bottle of Guiness.’
‘Please?’
‘Please.’
…彡☆ 20:20PM
About half an hour passed before I finally talked to Jack, I slid down the bar, making my way to where he sat, leaving the rest of the brothers and Sofi to do whatever.
‘You’re Jack I take it?’
‘Yeah and you’re.. (name)?’
‘Indeed it is, what drink you want Jackie?’
‘I don’t mind really, can I get a cigarette? The hospital wouldn’t let me bring ‘em in.’ He laughed, god damn his laugh. I’ve known this boy for 45 minutes and I’m whipped
‘Yeah sure and I’m sorry to hear that you got shot by the way, you ‘re lucky you survived love.’ I could see him the try to hide the fact me calling him love got a reaction out of him, it’s not particularly uncommon for me to call customers love, but it’s usually older customers, just out of respect, though for him? I just said it to get a reaction.
‘Thanks, how long you been working at the bar?’
‘Not long really, few months? I’ve only been in America for a couple of years, I think four years.’ Passing him a cigarette and a lighter whilst taking a puff of my own.
‘Ah cool, how come you moved?’
‘I don’t know really, I suppose to just be with my mum, seeing as she wanted to just get away.’
‘Your parents split?’
‘Yeah but it was probably the best choice they collectively made.’ I laughed, pouring him a drink.
‘Fair enough, you do anything else other than be the only good-looking bar tender in Detroit?’ Um sir?
‘Don’t flatter me Jackie, but yeah actually, I play the bass here and there.’
…彡☆ Jack POV …彡☆
‘Don’t flatter me Jackie...’ Man, I haven’t even known her that long and I can’t help but want to take her out.
‘Ah bass? That’s cool man, I play the guitar, before I moved back to Detroit I was actually in a band, believe it or not.’ Flicking my cigarette ash in the nearby ashtray, when I had an idea. I asked her for a pen and she handed me the one in her shirt pocket.
‘I certainly believe it, but anywho I can’t concentrate on your pretty face all night, I’ll serve some other customers and I’ll be back soon.’ She said winking at me, I felt my face go so warm, Sofi definitely knew I was going red, and to my misfortune, so did Bobby.
‘Woah Jackie, did the bullet knock the fairy out of you or what?!’
‘Shut up man, you probably haven’t been flirted with in the last 10 years.’
‘Sure fairy whatever you say.’
…彡☆ 22:17PM your pov
‘Okay boys we’re gonna leave now, because for some reason I got designated driver duty so come on! You too Sofi vámanos!’ Jerry yelled, dragging Sofi and Angel by the collars of their shirts, I laughed to myself as all of the brothers continued to leave in a drunken mess, the night was full of brotherly love, teasing and intense flirting between me and Jack, as he had more drinks he got more bold with how he spoke.
I was absolutely whipped, and as Jack left, he gave me a cigarette and said,
‘Don’t light it right away.’ with a drunken but genuine smile, I responded, ‘Don’t worry Jackie I won’t, see you soon.’ and I pecked him on the cheek as I left for the room where I kept my coat to close up my shift, taking the cigarette with me.
Later in the night I was certain there was something I had forgotten to do, and then it hit me, I probably was meant to look at the cigarette or something, and then I thought, ‘Where’s the cigarette?’, and I trudged to my sofa and grabbed my coat, luckily the cig was still in my pocket.
I twizzled it in my fingers, when I saw numbers written on one side, and a note saying, ‘Call me - Jackie’ with a heart next to it on the other, that smooth motherfucker. I unravelled the cigarette, putting the nicotine in a spare pouch and attached the note to my fridge with a magnet with the intentions to call him in the morning.
…彡☆ The End!
Please let me know if you liked this, if so I might write a part 2 to it or just continue to write Jack mercer fics seeing as there just aren’t enough! Love ya x

Part 22 of ??
Parings: Reggie x Reader, Luke x Julie, Alex x Willie
Summary: (Y/n) (L/n) has been able to see and feel ghosts ever since she was little, which made it hard to tell the ghosts from the humans. Everyone has always thought she was a bit crazy, even her best friends, Julie and Flynn. But when three ghosts with a love for music appear in Julie's garage, suddenly (Y/n) doesn't seem so crazy anymore.
Song: Demons (Imagine Dragons)
Season 1 Masterlist
Series Madterlist
Main Masterlist
A/N: I picture Arius as Five Hargreeves but with black hair and blue eyes, instead of dark brown hair and green eyes
♬♩♪♩♬♩♪♩♬♩👻 ♪♩♬♩♪♩♬♩♪♩
Once I parked in the school parking lot, I turned towards Arius expecting him to turn into a human. "What?" He asked, sounding annoyed as he sat up and started stretching, his front paws out in front of him as he arched his back down. "Aren't you going to change forms?" I asked, getting aggravated that he won't shift. "Shift forms." He corrected, getting into a sitting position "Plus you don't have the honor of bossing me around. You don't have any of my respect." Letting out an aggravated huff before turning my body to face him.
"Respect this. Respect that. What the hell does having your respect got to do with anything? You're my familiar, so do as I say and change forms."
Arius suddenly got on all fours, growling at me in anger "Everything. Respect has everything to do with the bond a witch, or wizard has with their familiar." I rolled my eyes before crossing my arms a crossed my chest in anger and annoyance 'honestly, why does every single witch thing have to be so complicated and difficult?' Letting out an annoyed huff, I uncrossed my arms, gripping the bridge of my nose "Okay." I stated before throwing my arms at my sides "What do I have to do to get your respect?" Arius sat back down in the passenger seat.
His anger died down, but aggravation still being shown on the felines face. "You don't just get a demons respect. You have to earn it." I shook my head a little, processing the new information that I was just told. "Hold on, wait a minute. You're a demon?!" The black cat rolled his blue eyes at me, before hopping off to the back seat. "Yes. I am." I watched him sit down on one of the back seats, only for him to close his eyes as his tail slowly stopped moving. I opened my mouth to say something, only for a bright blue light to shine, covering his whole form.
Closing my eyes I faced back front as to avoid the light shining in my eyes. "Man, I forgot how much I despise this form." I was about to look back at the owner of the familiar voice, which was usually in my head, but now could be heard by all. Only for a hand to rest on the passenger seat, as a boy that looked just about the age of 18 made his way to the front. He had black hair that was swooped off to the right side and seemed to hang over the right side of his forehead. An almost annoyed look could be seen on his face, and his eyes looked almost exactly like the ones that I've seen on the black cat that has been following me around for the last 12 hours.
"I haven't used this form since your grandmother was in her 20s"
I stared at the boy next to me in slight confusion, he examined his hands as I tried to process everything. "Arius?" I questioned, his blue eyes shot over at me, an annoyed "What?" Leaving his lips. I stared at him for a second or two before letting out a small giggle "Aww look at how cute you are." I stated while reaching over to pinch his cheeks. Only for him to quickly grab ahold of my arm, gripping it tightly, all while sending me a death stare. "Call me cute again. I'll chop all your fingers off and shove them down your goddamn throat." I just stared at him with a grin as he pushed my arm back towards me.
Looking back out my windshield I stared at the school in front of me. "Come on." I stated while opening the truck door "Before I get in even more trouble." Grabbing my bag from the back seat, I hopped out of the truck, Arius following soon after "And why does it matter exactly wether or not you are on time?" Shutting and locking the doors, I started making my way to the school entrance. Arius followed close next to me, hands sitting behind his back as he walked.
"Im already late, but if I skip school again they are gonna call my uncle."
"And why does that matter exactly?"
I didn't bother answering his question, taking a glance over at him, my eyes caught sight of the suit and tie he was currently wearing. Stopping just before the door, I was quick to turn to the black haired demon next to me. "You can't wear that." His blue eyes narrowed in confusion "Wear what? The suit?" He gestured towards his suit, I nodded my head in response, causing him to scoff. "It's a uniform." I crossed my arms, letting out a small huff in annoyance "It's atrocious." Gritting his teeth angrily, brows furrowed, he opened his mouth to say something, only for me to continue.
"No high schooler would be caught dead wearing that crap in place of everyday clothes."
A tight lipped smile sat on Arius face, shoving his hands in his pockets he leaned forward, his tall lanky form giving him the extra few inches of height to tower over me while saying "Well, it's a good thing I'm not a high schooler." I glared up at the demon in front of me, rolling my eyes I let out a small huff of aggravation, deciding to drop the subject, knowing he'd never give in. Turning back towards the front doors I was quick to state "Just, try to act at least a tiny bit normal." Walking over to the intercom I continued "I know that must be hard considering how small your brain is." Pressing the buzzer on the intercom I turned back around to face the angry demon.
Arius hands were now out of his pockets, turning into fists at his sides. His face scrunched up in anger, looking as if he was ready to kill me himself. "Be lucky your grandmother told me to look after you. Cause if she didn't, I would've killed you a long time ago. You have some fucking nerve talking to me that way." Hearing the loud click of the doors being unlocked, I just rolled my eyes at the black haired boy in front of me. Waving him off with one of my hands "Yeah, whatever you say." Pulling the door open, I walked inside, a fuming Arius following close behind.
I walked into the office, which sat right by the front door, Arius walking in behind me. "Well if it isn't miss (L/n). You actually decided to show up for school today?" I put of a forced smile, a fake laugh leaving my lips, all while staring down the old lady at the desk who I've grown all too annoyed of "Ah Darlene. You actually decided to brush your teeth for a change?" I asked while leaning over the front desk "Now I don't have to deal with that nasty ass breath" her cheery smile now turned forced.
Darlene was quick to bite out "I was just about to call your uncle. Tell him that you skipped yet again. But I guess I don't have the liberty of doing that today. That is, if you have a good excuse." She stared me down, practically begging me to have such a horrible excuse that she would have to call my uncle. 'This old ass women has had it out for me since the very beginning.' My eyes looked down at the counter in front of me, drumming my fingers on it for a quick second as I hummed in response to her statement.
Coming up with a quick lie, my eyes looked back up at Darlene "Ya see, I was just showing my..." grabbing ahold of Arius' arm, dragging him quickly over to me. The dark haired demon let out a small grunt in surprise, his attention seemed to be everywhere else as he examined the room. "Cousin" I sent a glance over at Arius to see if he was paying attention to the most important detail in this lie. But of course, Arius' attention was literally anywhere else, which caused me to let out a small huff before looking back at Darlene to continue my tale.
"Around the area, he just arrived here last night and I guess we just lost track of time-"
Darlene held out a hand while shaking her head, stoping me from trying to tell her the rest of my lie. "Okay, I'm gonna stop you right there. You seriously expect me to believe that this boy..." Arius' attention was finally on our conversation as my explanation was stopped, watching as Darlene gestured to him with her pen, she continued "is your cousin?" Bring her pen over to point at me, I stared at her in slight confusion, looking over at Arius next to me, who seemed to be staring down the lady in front of us, as if studying her.
My head turned, eyes drifting back over to Darlene, my left hand placed on my hip as my right gripped the backpack strap around my shoulder. "Well, yeah." I stated, slight confusion written on my face when she didn't believe me. Darlene rolled her eyes in annoyance, shaking her head, I watched as her hand reaches for the phone in front of her. My eyes went wide and I was about to speak up, only for Arius to cut me off, quickly strutting over to the counter in front of us while shoving me off to the side.
"Look, Darlene, was it?"
The old lady paused, her hand resting on the phone as Arius now had her attention. A smile appeared on Arius' lips as he stated "That is a beautiful name, I must say..." Arius held a hand out below the desk, waving it as if signaling for me to back off and let him talk. I heard Darlene giggle a little "Oh, why thank you" Arius was quick to continue with his charm "Do you know that name means Darling? And I have to say, I apologize if this is overstepping, but do you mind if I call you darling?" I stared at the side of his head in confusion, watching this whole scene play out.
A small giggle once again escaped the old lady's lips, her hands coming up to rest underneath her chin. "Well, aren't you just a charmer?" Arius dragged his tongue across his lips for a quick second, biting down on them as if to suppress a smile. Shrugging his shoulders he gave a response of "I try." he must've felt my stare on the side of his face, because he suddenly glanced over at me, a glare present on his features. "Do you mind? We are trying to have a conversation." I widened my eyes a little before throwing my hands up in surrender and walking over to the plastic chairs a little ways behind him.
Arius' attention was brought back over to Darlene soon after, and I dropped my bag down in a chair before sitting down in the one next to it. I watched as the two of them chatted, hearing giggles coming from the old hag here and there. 'The hell could he be talking about with her?' I thought as I waited for the two of them to be done talking. A few minutes later, Arius turned around, walking back towards me, showing me the two late passes in his hand, a smirk sitting on his lips as if rubbing it in my face.
Rolling my eyes, I picked up my bag, throwing one of the straps over my shoulder. Arius stopped in front of me while asking "If I'm the one with a small brain then how come I'm the one with the late passes?" I sent a glare to the demon in from of me, grumbling out a response "Yeah. Yeah. Whatever." Ripping my pass out of his hand.
The two of us started making our way out the door, only for Darlene to stop us. "Goodbye Damon, have a nice day!" She said cheerfully, which only cause Arius to let out an annoyed sigh before rolling his eyes. Turning back to look at Darlene a smile appeared on his face "You too darling" he stated, sending her a wink before turning back around and following me out the door. His face dropping back down into the same angry look he always seemed to wear.
"I fucking hate humans."
He grumbled, while shoving his hands angrily into his pockets. I glanced over at Arius, shaking my head a little, at his statement, only for me to look back in front of me. The dark haired demon walked quickly next to me, passing by 4 kids who were sitting in the hall working. The conversation between them seeming to die off as I now caught their attention just from walking by. Whispers could be heard from the two boys, causing giggles to arise from the girls in response. They were obviously talking about me, but I just ignored them and continued my walk towards my class.
"Something funny assholes?"
This caused me to stop in my tracks, quickly turning around, I was met with the sight of Arius standing in front of the four teens. The dark haired boy had his hands in his pockets, tall, lean figure practically leaning forward over them as if to intimidate. One of the boys stood up in response to Arius' question, moving his wavy brown hair out of his face, the boy let out a scoff "Who the hell are you?" An annoyed smile appeared on Arius' face, leaning in close to the boy that stood in front of him.
A murderous glint could be seen in the blue eyes of the dark haired boy. "I'm the guy that's gonna kick your ass." The teenage boy in front of Arius looked back at his friends, the two boys let out laughs in amusement, like kicking his ass was some kind of inside joke. Looking back into the rage filled eyes of the dark haired boy, an amused smile appearing on the brown haired boy's face. Hands coming up, only to push back against Ariu's chest, causing him to stumble backwards just a bit. A chuckle passed through Arius' lips, all while shaking his head, looking up at the boy in front of him, a smirk gracing his features.
"Bad idea."
The brown haired boy let out a small laugh "o-" he was barely able to get a word out, before Arius' grabbed him by the throat, holding him up in the air right against the lockers. A squeal in surprise left the girls lips, the brown haired boy letting out choked gasps, trying desperately to breath, his hands coming up to pull Arius' hand away only to have no luck. The other boy quickly shouted at him "Hey man!" Arius' eyes didn't deter from the boy in front of him, as the other tried to get him to let go of his friend. The dark haired demon quickly brought his elbow up, making contact with the other boys face causing him to pass out on the floor. "Jared!" One of the girls yelled, quickly kneeling down next to the boy and shaking him to get him to wake up, or at least show any signs that he's alive.
"Let's try this again. Shall we?"
Arius' grip tightened around the boys neck, limiting the amount of air he could breath in even more. A menacing grin sitting on his clear skinned face "Arius!" I yelled, quickly realizing that he was going to kill the poor boy, I was ignored. "The fuck were you laughing at?" Loosening his grip around the boy's throat so he could respond, letting out small coughs and tried to get in breaths of air. Arius rolled his eyes, growing impatient "Let him go Arius! You made your point!" Again I was ignored, the demon brought the boy more towards him using the hand on his throat.
Bringing him back towards the lockers, the back of the brown haired boys head slammed into the lockers behind him, coughing out a groan in pain. "Answer me." The demons teeth grit in anger and aggravation, the boy let out another cough or two before rasping out "We we're laughing at something we heard about the freak you’re walking with." Arius' murderous blue eyes didn't move away from the boy in front of him, only closing them for a few seconds, a sarcastic chuckle passing through his lips, along with a shake of his head.
I wanted to stop him. Yell at him. Scream. Do something to at least help these people. But I froze, because deep down, it felt good I wanted to wait and watch his next moves. I loved watching as people that seemed to anger me and hurt me with the constant whispers and giggles everyday, we're finally getting shit for it. Of course I learned to block it out, ignore it. I act like it doesn't phase me, like it doesn't hurt to hear people constantly talking about me calling me the school freak. But it's always hurt, no matter what I do to act like it doesn't, or to just block it out. It still hurts. So this? This felt good.
Bringing the boy towards him once again, Arius slammed his head back against the lockers behind him. I watched as small amounts of blood trickled down the back of the boys head, and against the lockers behind him "Don't just stand there!" My eyes drifted towards the girl that stood with her arms crossed, staring me down as if this was my fault. "Stop him! Do something!" A scoff left my lips, narrowing my eyes at her in anger. Crossing my arms a crossed my chest my eyes drifted back over to the scene in front of me.
"No."
An angry huff left her lips and she tried to pull Arius off the boy, only for him to bring his hand back, slapping her so hard across the cheek to the point where she spat out blood as she fell to the floor. His eyes never once wavering from the boy in front of him. A small smirk gracing my lips as I heard the demon speak up once again "Listen here, you piece of shit, If her name leaves your disgusting mouth again. I'll cut your damn tongue out of your fucking mouth and feed it to my dog" the boy didn't believe him, trying to let out a scoff but came out as a cough as Arius' hand tightened once again around his windpipe. "You're bluffing." He rasped out, eyes narrowing at the murderous boy.
The dark haired demon let out a dark chuckle in response "Wanna test that theory?" The boy stared at him for a second or two before shaking his head, eyes wide in fear "N-No" an annoyed smile appearing on Arius' face, leaning forward as to scare him even more "That's what I thought." Letting go of his throat, the boy dropped to Arius' feet, coughing and gasping for air. Walking a few feet away he turned back around, eyes narrowed at the three conscious humans on the ground.
An innocent smile gracing his features as he shoved his hands back into his black pants pockets. Arms in front of the suit jacket, causing the jacket to open up a little more at the bottom, fully showing his white dress shirt and tie. "If any of you imbeciles says a word about what happened here. I will personally kill you. And it will be slow and painful." The innocent smile dropped down to an annoyed one as his eyes drifted over each of them individually "Do we understand each other?" I looked over the teens on the ground, one of the boys were passed out, while the other held a hand around his neck, trying to breath properly again, all while slowly bleeding out from the back of his head. One of the girls held the passed out boy's head on her lap, tears streaming down her face, the other one held her cheek and jaw, tears also rolling down her face.
'Shit did he dislocate her jaw?'
The three of them nodded their heads quickly out of fear, not wanting to mess with or go against him. Nodding his head a quick "Great." Left his lips, as he continued the treck in the direction we were walking in. I stayed frozen in place, not knowing how to react to all of this as I just stared at the three injured teens in front of me. I opened my mouth to say something only for Arius to yell "Let's go!" Causing me to shaking my head and quickly follow after him.

PAIRING(s): Mercer!fem reader x Luke Patterson WARNING(s): angst, fluff WORDS: 2.3k SUMMARY: Five times Luke Patterson gets jealous and one time he doesn’t have to.
A/N: hi! sorry this took so long, lol. school sucks. :/ i promise im gonna be posting more frequently from now onwards! anyway, decided to make y/n alex’ sister, bc i’ve been wanting to try it for a while. hope u like it!! <3 also, song used is carry me by kygo ft. julia michaels.
1.
The first time that Luke Patterson feels that scorching, smoldering rage in the pit of his stomach is when he notices Y/N Mercer stare at his bandmate, Bobby Wilson, for the entirety of their hour-long Literature class.
At first, he doesn’t understand why he feels this way: Y/N’s just as much Bobby’s friend as she is his. Well, not really – Luke likes to believe that he is the one that she is closest to in the band, other than her brother, Alex, of course. Sure, Bobby and Y/N are friends – they say ‘hi’ when they pass by each other in the hallway, she helps him out with his Physics homework when he asks, and he asks her how her day’s been – that sort of friends. They’ve never really interacted more than it was required, and Luke knows that if Bobby wasn’t a part of their band, Sunset Curve, or if Y/N wasn’t their drummer’s sister, those two wouldn’t be friends.
Anyway, he thinks that maybe it’s because they are supposed to be partners, working on their assignment together – and instead, she is choosing to abandon him and stare at one of his best mates, instead. He thinks that maybe he’s mad because she promised him that she would help him out with this assignment, which is particularly hard, and now, it feels like he’s ditching her.
Instead of thinking about why he is so bothered at the fact that Y/N is staring at Bobby, Luke chooses to elbow her instead.
“What?” She whispers, a blush covering her cheeks.
“Can you focus?” He snaps as she rolls her eyes and opens their textbook.
“You’re annoying.”
2.
“Alex, Alex, Alex!”
“Luke, I’m sitting right beside you – you don’t need to yell.”
“There’s something that you should know.” Luke whispers, conspiratorially. Alex, who’s sitting beside him on the couch in the garage where they rehearse, leans forward, intrigued. “What?”
He points at Y/N, who’s sitting in front of Reggie in the opposite side of the room, strumming a guitar – Reggie’s teaching her how to play. Unlike her twin brother, she’s not naturally gifted in music, which is pretty evident from her occasional frustrated huffs, and the obviously off-key tune. Rather, science is her talent, and has always been. The top spot in their class has been permanently occupied by her ever since their first exam as freshmen.
“She!” Luke whispers. Alex furrows his brows. “Yes, I know that she has no musical talent whatsoever –”
“No, no, no. I mean, yes, she doesn’t have that – but you wanna know what she does?”
“I have a feeling that you’re gonna tell me even if I don’t wanna know.” Alex mutters.
“She has a crush on Bobby!” Luke scrunches his face, a disgusted look taking over.
The drummer raises his brows and bursts out laughing. “Really, dude?”
“No, no, no, I’m not lying, okay! I’ve seen her stare at him!”
He raises his brows. “So? She stares at a lot of people.”
“It wasn’t that way, okay? Last week, in class, she was ignoring me and staring at him. Plus, yesterday, when you were god knows where, she and Bobby were having a conversation. An actual conversation! I’ve never seen them talk that much. They were nerding out over Star Wars!”
“Dude, are you…” Alex pauses, looking around, “… jealous?” A smile spreads over his features.
Luke’s eyes widen, and he looks horrified. “What? Me? Jealous? Huh? Me? How?”
Inside, he is panicking. He hadn’t considered this possibility. Is he jealous? No, that can’t be. Y/N – he’s known her forever, and he is supposed to think of her as his sister. He does think so. He’s sure. He can’t – he doesn’t like her. She’s just… Y/N. Sure, he’s always thought that she’s beautiful. And smart. And so, so kind. He’s always admired her. OK, he might have had a little crush on her. But, in a totally harmless, admiring way! (In the way everyone seems to like Winona Ryder these days. Nothing more than that. Absolutely.)
She’s just Y/N.
Y/N, who’s always there for him after he has a bad day. Y/N, who’s the first person he hugs after playing an intense show. Y/N, who’s the only person who can understand his silence. Y/N, who makes sure that he knows that she appreciates him. Y/N, who he knows like the back of his hand.
Before Luke can panic any further, Bobby enters the garage, and Luke notices her attention immediately shift toward him. They exchange a smile, and Luke feels that rage, yet again.
He falls back on the couch, locking eyes with Alex, who is silently watching with a soft smile on his face.
“I’m not jealous.” He says weakly, and Alex nods – but he knows that it doesn’t convince either of them. His friend lays a hand on his shoulder, whispering, “It’s okay.”
3.
By the time the next month rolls around, Luke is positive that he’s jealous: so, he’s resorted to not thinking about it, her or even interacting with her – which is hard considering that she’s always around.
Now, he feels like shit. For their junior year, they are supposed to do a report on a Victorian era novel of their choice, with a partner. He and Y/N were supposed to partners – they had decided months ago and have also done previous assignments together. But now, since he hasn’t even dared to look at her in a month, she’s now doing the report with Bobby, of all people.
As he watches Bobby and Y/N sit next to each other with their arms brushing, he feels that rage again, and curses himself. Could he not have behaved like a normal person? He knows that she is confused as to why he’s suddenly ignoring and avoiding her – she has even asked her brother about it. But Luke had threatened Alex that he would tell everyone about his crush on Reggie if he even said a single syllable.
(Although Luke knows that he would never.)
He sighs, dramatically, and searches for someone else to pair up with, ignoring the way his heart clenches at the realization that he may be losing her.
4.
“Luke?”
He looks up and feels a rush in his veins.
“Are you… mad at me?” Y/N asks tentatively, standing at the door to his bedroom. Her eyes keep flitting between his face and around his bedroom, and he hates the fact that there seems to be an ocean between them.
“Uh…” He scratches the back of his neck, not knowing what to respond. She looks down at her feet, biting her lip and Luke feels a tug on his heartstrings at that. It’s been so, so long and he has so, so much to tell her, but he doesn’t know how to bridge the gap that he created.
He builds up his courage and says, “Yeah. I was kinda mad at you.”
Her eyebrows furrow, and panic flows into her e/c eyes. “What – what’d I do?”
Luke inhales sharply and wonders what he’s gonna say. It’s not like he can say that he was jealous of the fact that she liked Bobby, nor could he say that in the past month he has realized the fact that he may have a tiny, little crush on her and had to avoid her at all costs because she will never like him back and it’s too embarrassing?
He clears his throat. “Uh. It’s because you promised that you would do the English project with me but you’re doing it with Bobby.”
“But I’m only doing it with him because you won’t even look at me! Why won’t you?”
“I… You also ignored me for Bobby the other day?”
She throws her hands up. “What other day?”
“When we were working on the Shakespeare thingy!”
“I was not – now you’re making –”
“Forget it. Just go home, Y/N.”
A look of hurt flashes over her eyes, but she quickly clenches her jaw, and stands straighter, masking her emotions. “Asshole.”
She walks out his door, slamming the door shut behind her.
For the rest of the day, Luke lies on his bed and stares at his ceiling, and when Reggie comes over, he tells him that he’s ruined everything. Reggie lies beside him and asks softly, “You okay?”
“I think I like Y/N.” He whispers.
“We know.”
His lips part and he says in disbelief, “Alex told you?!”
Reggie shrugs. “He didn’t need to. Everyone can see the way that you look at her.”
Luke sighs, too tired to argue.
“Hey. It’s just a date, alright? It’s not like they’re getting married.”
Luke props himself on his elbow. “What?”
“Y’know, Y/N’s really picky –”
“What date?”
Reggie’s eyes widen. “Y-You didn’t know?”
Luke raises his brows, urging his friend to continue. He purses his lips and says, “Y/N and Bobby are on a date right now.”
Instantly, Luke feels as if his world has drained of every colour. Reggie looks uncomfortable, and whispers, “I thought you knew.”
“I, uh, I didn’t. Obviously.” He whispers, falling back on the bed again. His heart physically hurts, and he can feel tears prick at the back of his eyes. Mostly, he feels anger – at himself, and regret.
As jealousy claws its way to the surface, Luke mutters, “I hate Bobby.”
5.
Luke sits cross legged on the floor of the garage, with a Spanish guitar perched on his lap. His hands dance over the strings, trying to find the perfect melody for the song he just wrote.
Writing songs has always been his way of dealing with his emotions, especially when they got too intense. Right now, the situation with Y/N is exactly that.
His eyes dance over the notebook in front of him, and he closes his eyes, trying to forget everything that’s happened in the past couple of days.
“Cause I don't know how we How we got so far, you and me Almost like there's oceans between us, us So I need to know Could you carry me? Back into your heart again Could you carry me? Right into your distant hands Could you carry me? Right back to where we started from Could you carry me?”
“That’s beautiful.”
Luke’s head turns sharply to the side, and of course, it’s her. He clenches his jaws, and says, “What are you doing here?” He hates the fact that she looks so pretty, wearing a beautiful red sundress.
She bites her lower lip, and says, “We should talk, Luke.”
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
She giggles. “You’ve always been the jealous type.”
He raises his brows, opening his mouth to deny whatever she was about to say next, but she raises a hand to stop him. “Alex and Reg told me. They said that they’re tired of seeing you mope every day.”
“I –”
“Hold on. So, for the past month, you’ve been mad at me because you thought I like Bobby?”
Luke lowers his head, choosing to stare at his open palm instead.
“You ignored one of your best friends for more than a month because you were jealous, and you were too much of an idiot to tell her the truth?”
“Well, you don’t gotta be so mean about it.”
She laughs. “Luke. Bobby and I – we’re just friends, okay? I was staring at him because I really liked his hair. And you have to admit it – it’s nice. I actually asked him for his shampoo, too. But, well, you and him both thought that I liked him. That’s why he asked me out to the movies last day. But... uh, well, it didn’t work out.”
His heart races at the last sentence. “Why?”
“Because I like you, Luke. I always have. I thought I could like Bobby, I really did – but all I could think about last night was you.” She shrugs, and Luke feels like he’s falling. He thinks that the universe is playing a prank on him, but when he sees her crimson tinged face, the vulnerability in her eyes and her fiddling with her hands, he allows himself to feel the slightest amount of hope.
She looks down, continuing, “I, uh, I always thought that you only saw me as your best friend’s little sister. I didn’t ever think that, you know, that there could be something more. So, I kept it to myself and only Alex knew. But, last night, Reg came over and they were screaming for a while, about you and me, so I went to find out what happened, and they told me that you, uh, liked me too.”
Reggie. He must have told Alex that Luke was ugly crying on his shoulder.
“Please say something, Luke.”
He releases the breath he didn’t know he was holding. “I – I feel like you’re pranking me.”
She grins. “No. No, definitely not.”
“Y/N, god, you have no idea how difficult this past month has been for me. I mean, I never realized that I liked you that much until I saw you with him, you know? I always thought that I had a tiny, little crush on you but I never… and I thought that Alex would kill me if I did anything, but he’s been oddly… nice about all this.”
“He’s just tired of hearing me talk about you.”
“Probably. But yeah. I think you’re brilliant, Mercer. And I really, really, really like you.”
She jumps a little, and whispers, “I really, really, really like you too.”
“Do you maybe wanna go to the movies with me?” His wide grin matches hers.
“Only if we watch part two of Father of The Bride.”
“Deal.”
+1.
Luke watches Bobby smile at Y/N, looking at her as if she’s put the moon in the sky. Although, this time, he doesn’t feel the rage. He doesn’t need to, really, with Y/N’s hand wrapped in his, and the ghost of her lips still lingering on his.
requests open! as always, feedback is highly appreciated <33

There For You (Jack Mercer x Reader)
Warnings: mentions mugging, mentions of blood (let me know if I missed anything)
Pre-established relationship
You were shivering as you stood outside the Mercer house, vulnerable to the Detroit cold without your coat.
You were barely able to feel your fingertips as you pressed the doorbell to their house.
It was only a few seconds before you could hear the door to their porch open but it was long enough for a sense of dread to set in that you might have to walk the rest of the way home.
Jack was now in the opening in front of you, his smile immediately fading and a look of worry replacing it on his face.
"Oh shit, sweetheart, what happened to you?" he was looking over your shivering form for any serious injuries, finding only a split lip.
He led you into the living room with his hand on the small of your back. You could feel the warmth of his palm seep through your shirt, heating your cold skin beneath.
He called out for one of the brothers to bring some blankets downstairs as he had you sit in front of the fireplace.
Jack went into the kitchen while you heard multiple sets of footsteps barreling down the stairs.
"What the hell is going on here, Jackie, we already have enough girls taking up home here with Sofi crashing here all the time." Bobby started joking in his usual boisterous way before he cut himself off seeing you still shivering on the living room floor.
Jack came back out of the kitchen with a wet cloth to wipe the off blood caked on your lip and chin. Sofi followed him out of the kitchen and shot a glare at Bobby before sitting down on the couch.
Jack sat in front of you crossing his long legs before holding your cheek with one hand and dabbing the cloth to your split skin with the other.
"What happened?" Bobby asked you as Angel came into the living room with blankets in his hands pausing for just a second to take in the scene before wrapping one of the blankets around you and setting the others beside Jack. He then moved to sit on the couch beside Sofi.
You tell them that you were mugged by two guys on your way home from the library and that they took your coat and your bag with all of your things. You could tell the boys were angry with Bobby's pacing and Jack's clenched jaw, while Sofi looked at you with sympathy.
You answered Bobby when he asked you what street it happened on.
Jack glanced back at his brothers.
"Grab your coat, Angel. We have something to do." Bobby said as Angel nodded back to him. Angel gave a quick kiss to Sofi before they both stood up with her heading back through the entrance to the kitchen.
You watched the two men quickly grab their leather jackets with concern written on your face.
Jack directs your face with his finger and thumb under your chin to look at him instead of their retreating figures and gives you a small smile. "Don't worry about them, okay?"
You slightly nod your head and Jack kisses your forehead before grabbing another blanket to wrap around you both and moving so that he was sitting against the couch behind you with you in between his legs. You leaned back in his chest as he wrapped his arms around you.
Sofi came back out of the kitchen with a cup of tea.
"Here this will help warm you up, just be careful of your lip" Both you and Jack thanked her while she headed upstairs.
The two of you sat in silence for what felt like forever. You sipped the tea, allowing the mug to warm up your cold hands.
He spoke up after a while. "I wish I was there for you, I wish I could have helped you..."
You shifted to face him, setting the mug down beside you.
"You are here to help me, this is helping me" You motioned at the two of you.
"Plus your brothers are definitely out there getting my stuff back and making sure this won't happen again."
He chuckled shaking his head. "Yeah, you're probably right sweetheart."
He slowly leaned down to place a soft kiss on your lips before you shifted back to leaning into him with his arms wrapped around you.
He placed another kiss to your hair and then rested his chin on your head as the two of you continued waiting for his brothers to return.

Where will we end up? (TEASER)
A build-up to Sunset Curve and their honorary member. Pls see the bottom for more info!!
Content warnings: Female reader, mentions of anxiety, Alex’s hinted feelings for Luke, parents fighting, lack of father figure, hinted selective mutism and use of Y/N (could change for actual fic)
----------
July 27, 1990
The air was sticky. The Los Angeles sun beat down on three kids who were on the verge of being teenagers as they rode their bikes down to the pier. School was starting soon and all three had different worries that led to the same conclusion; what’s gonna happen to them?
For Alex Mercer, worrying about everything was his job. If he didn’t worry, how would he be prepared for every possible outcome? He was starting his 8th-grade year. The ‘Kings of Middle School’ as everyone would say, but he felt sick thinking about stepping up to the crown. Of course, he felt like this before every new school year but that wasn’t going to stop him from doing it again. He worried about his classes, and how many he would share with Y/N. He worried about how Y/N was going to handle the classes they didn’t share. He worried about how hot-headed Luke would handle 9th grade. He worried that Luke would make other friends and not want to hang out with 8th graders. He worried that Y/N won’t need him as much this year. And he worried she’d grow tired of him on the days he struggled to leave the house. He worried about the feeling he’d get in his stomach every time Luke smiled at him. Why did his friend make him so anxious? He shook his head and pedaled faster.
For Luke Patterson, worrying about the future wasn’t something he experienced often. Sure he wondered what his life would look like 5 years from now but didn’t everyone? He was starting 9th grade, ‘fresh-meat’ as upper-classmen would call them. He worried it would be too much. Heck, he’d only been living in LA for a year and now he has to leave his only two friends behind. He had tried to flunk 8th grade just so that the three of them could be in the same grade moving forward. Y/N had smacked him upside the head so hard he hissed just remembering it. He worried that if he stayed away too long, Alex and Y/N would realize they didn’t need him. The two were already attached to the hip when he came along and wedged his way in. Maybe they don’t need him as much as he needs them. They have each other and perhaps that’s enough. He worried he’d fall behind without Y/N keeping him in check. He worried about how he won’t be there to help Alex on the days everything was just too much. And he worried about who would be there to calm him down when everything was a little too loud and the clothes he wore were a little too rough that it made him want to peel his skin off. He sighed and pedaled faster.
For Y/N Y/L/N, worrying about the ‘what ifs’ was her favorite pastime. It wasn’t really. But they plagued her mind every free moment she had. What if Alex branched off? What if he didn’t need her anymore? What if Luke made friends? What if he spends more time in high school and won’t hang around them anymore? What if both Luke and Alex split off together? They were both guys and maybe they’ll realize it’s better with just the two of them. She worried they’d become someone she’d walk by and have to pretend the time they spent together didn’t exist. That the secrets they whispered to each other in the night disappeared as the sun came up. That the dreams they shared were snuffed out as time went on. She worried that she’d look into their eyes and instead of being met with the familiar warmth of home, she’d be met the reflection of who they once were and what they once met to each other. She wondered if she’d be able to navigate the 8th grade and life afterward without her two fellow musketeers at her side. She wiped the single tear off her face and pedaled faster.
----------
The comic book shop was cool as the air-conditioner rumbled in the background. Hot gusts of wind accompany the little bell as someone enters the shop. The sign on the door encouraging customers to fully close it so as to keep the cool air from escaping. School was starting soon and as a boy sits on the beanbag that’s become his designated spot, he worries about starting the 8th grade.
For Reggie Peters, worrying about school has never been a big thing unless it involved bringing home classmates for a group project. Which he always managed to avoid. At least, that was his only worry until recently. His parents’ fighting had gotten worse. The words he had heard his parents yell at each other as he sat on the stairs had caused him to gasp. Which happened to be the last sound he made. He wondered how two people who swore to love each other could utter such things. He hadn’t been able to talk in almost two months and now school was right around the corner and he worried about interactions. He worried teachers would get upset with him like his parents had. He worried people would find him rude, thinking he was ignoring them. He wondered how he would make friends in his classes if the mere attempt at speaking caused him physical discomfort. He grabbed the water bottle and granola bar that sat on the napkin with “For Reggie” scribbled on it. He smiled at the gesture. He hoped his voice would come back so he could properly thank the owners of the comic book store that felt more like home than his house ever did.
----------
The sun shone brightly as a boy skated through the park. His eyes squinted as the light hit him directly in the face. Placing a hand over his forehead in an attempt to block the rays, his eyes widened as he realized he was heading straight toward a girl walking her dog. He quickly maneuvered around to avoid hitting her only for his wheel to catch a stone causing him to land on his side. He groaned as he sat up, dusting off his dark jeans and rolling his eyes as he noticed he scraped his elbow yet again. He leaned back on his hands and looked up at the sky peeking through the leaves of the tree he had found himself under.
For Bobby Shaw, worrying about stuff was something he always tried to keep under wraps. His mom worried enough as it was and he didn’t want to add it. As the ‘man of the house’ he had to keep cool under the gaze of both his mom and grandma. He briefly wondered where his dad was. He had recently promoted from the 8th grade without a father in the crowd. The thought immediately went away. Why should he care about the man that walked out on him and his mom? He was starting 9th grade soon and his mom was making a fuss about it. Something about him growing up fast. He was tall for his age and his grandma always nags him about the ridiculous clothes he wears. Asking him how he hoped to make friends if the sight of him was enough to intimidate. He was worried. For what? He wasn’t sure. He didn’t care much for school. He didn’t care much for consistent company. He had skatepark buddies but that was all they were and he didn’t mind. He worried the most about disappointing his grandma. He didn’t hold the same traditional views as she did but he knew that she loved him regardless. And maybe he was lying about how little he actually cared about everything else. But that wasn’t something he was ready to unpack. He stood up, grabbed his board and kicked off.
CONTEXT
----------
A/N: Hi! I finally have motivation AND some free time to actually write something. This story is going to follow the boys and the reader as they navigate through high school, meet each other, start the band, be teenagers, face struggles, and feel feelings. I'm not sure how you all feel about "Y/N" Please let me know, I can totally name her and have it be more of an OC!
The fic will be including my personal headcanons for the boys and there's more backstory to how Y/N, Alex and Luke met if you're interested in like a flashback thing. Or a separate headcanon list/context for each person.
Also, this is probably going to be a Reggie x Reader/Bobby x Reader. I have not decided 100%
Thank you for taking the time to read this little thing, please let me know if you'd like it to be an actual fic!

Nearly Lost You
Jack ends up in the hospital after his brush with death.
Jack Mercer x f!reader
Warnings: mentions of death/injury/blood, lots of cursing, starts angsty and turns fluffy, Bobby calls Jack reader's girlfriend, Jack lives AU :)
Notes: This is connected to the previous imagine with him. The title comes from the Screaming Trees song (Jack would totally approve 🤘)
Jack had been shot by Sweet's men. The one thing you were scared of in the Mercers' search for revenge actually happened, and it was nothing short of a nightmare.
The last few hours had gone by in a blur, ever since the moment Bobby realized that Jack ran outside and into danger. You'd ridden in the ambulance with him as the paramedics worked on him, and then been written off when it arrived at the hospital and they realized you weren't family. So you sat there in the waiting room with nothing but your thoughts.
You could still hear the gunshots and Jack's voice as he yelled for Bobby. As he yelled for you. But the worst part was when he stopped making any noise at all. By the time the shooters were all dead, Jack's mouth was full of blood as more escaped his wounds and stained the snow. The coppery smell still lingered on you, shirt and sleeves smeared with red from trying to help him until the ambulance arrived.
It was unlikely that he would survive, but you weren't leaving that hospital until you knew for sure. No matter how many people looked at you funny as you sat in the corner and sobbed.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket, and you blinked to try and read the name through your tears and the dried blood on the front screen...Jack?
A wave of nausea washed over you when you realized that it was probably someone from the hospital calling you—the emergency contact in his phone—to deliver bad news. You shakily flipped it open and answered with a soft "...Hello?"
"How is he?"
Bobby. Jack must have left his phone in the house somewhere.
"He made it to the hospital. They took him in the back, but they won't tell me anything since I'm not family."
"Jesus Christ. You're his girlfriend! You were in the fuckin' ambulance with him!"
"I told them that. Apparently, it doesn't matter."
"Go up to the desk and give 'em the phone."
You looked over at the desk, where you'd already tried to argue your case. Eventually, you had to stop or risk being removed from the premises. The nurses surely wouldn't be happy to see you approaching, but you did what Bobby told you.
As you thought, one of the nurses began to speak up once you reached the desk. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but we've been over this–"
"It's his brother," you interrupted, holding the phone out to him. "He wants to talk to you."
The man took the phone, almost scowling at you as he put it to his ear. "Sir, I–"
Bobby's yells could be heard from the other side of the phone, and in any other context, you would probably start laughing. At that moment, you were actually glad for the oldest Mercer's strong personality.
The nurse tried and failed to get a word in edgewise amongst Bobby's verbal assault. By the end, his hand was shaking as he gave the phone back to you and began clicking and typing on his computer. "It looks like he's still in surgery. I'll have another nurse take you back to the OR waiting room."
"Thank you." You put the phone back up to your ear. "Did you hear that, Bobby? He's still in surgery."
"Call me back when he gets out, alright?"
"I will."
Bobby hung up first, and you closed your phone before shoving it back into your pocket.
A few minutes later, a nurse escorted you back to a different waiting room. One far less crowded. You slumped down in one of the chairs and leaned your head back against the wall, praying to God that Jack would make it through the night.
Four days later, you sat in the chair next to Jack's hospital bed, his hand held in yours. You let out a sigh as you brushed your thumb across his fingers, the absence of his usual rings feeling pretty strange. He still hadn't woken up, but the doctor assured you that you had nothing to worry about on that front.
Jack was stable. He was alive.
Of course, outside of the hospital, Jack was considered dead, which meant his brothers couldn't visit yet. They were even planning a fake funeral and burial just to make it more convincing. Because until they killed Sweet, he could easily send someone to finish the job.
You hadn't left the hospital since the ambulance brought you both there. Camille was kind enough to bring your things so you could use the shower and change out of your bloodied clothes. A nurse gave you a blanket and a couple of pillows so you could sleep on the tiny couch in the corner, and all of your 'meals' came from the vending machine at the end of the hall. You stayed there with Jack because the last thing you wanted was for him to wake up alone in the hospital after what happened to him.
Giving his hand a little kiss, you rested your head on the bed and closed your heavy eyes. Sleep didn't come easy in the hospital, even though being there was so emotionally exhausting.
When you felt his fingers move, you thought you imagined it. Until you heard a familiar, yet much raspier, voice say your name.
You sat up and looked at your boyfriend, who was finally looking right back at you after so many days. "Jack?" All you wanted to do at that moment was scoop him up into a big hug, but he was still badly hurt, so you simply squeezed his hand and gave him a smile, your eyes beginning to well up with tears again.
"What the hell happened?" He croaked, squinting at the bright lights as he slowly came back to reality.
"Let me get you some water, baby." You let go of him so you could go over to the sink and fill up a paper cup. "You were shot. You don't remember?"
He took the cup when you offered it and had a big gulp, helping make his mouth and throat less unbearably dry. "I...I, um..."
Your words and the dull ache in his legs and chest had it coming back to him. Just in bits and pieces, but it was enough. Getting that snowball to the face, bleeding out and screaming in the snow. And the gunshots, the sound of bullets hitting the brick and glass of the Mercer home, where his family had still been inside.
His eyes went wide, and he reached out to grab your hand. "Were you hurt? Were my brothers-?"
"I'm okay, Jack. So are your brothers." You sat on the edge of the bed and gently cupped his cheek with your other hand. "You were the only one who got hurt, unless you count the guys who attacked us. Your brothers took care of them."
"Good." Jack leaned his face into your hand slightly, sniffling as tears stung at his eyes. He could remember you sobbing over him as he started to black out, pleading with him not to go. He never wanted to do that to you again. "I'm sorry."
"What for?" You asked, frowning slightly.
"I don't know. For leaving the house and getting myself shot. For getting you involved in this shit." If you had gotten hurt or worse while Jack was too injured to protect you, he never would've forgiven himself. He thought having you at the house would be the safest thing, but he should've just asked you to go back home entirely. Even though he knew you wouldn't have dreamed of leaving him there in Detroit, he wanted to kick himself anyway for being so fucking selfish.
"Hey, none of this is your fault." He closed his eyes as you leaned in and pressed a small kiss to his lips. "I love you, Jack, and I don't regret being here at all. I'm sticking with you no matter how crazy things get. Got it?"
Jack nodded and buried his face in your neck, wrapping his arms around you—at least as much as he could with an IV in and the injury near his shoulder. "I love you, too."
Careful not to put any weight on him, you stayed there for a while, you and Jack simply holding one another and thanking the universe that the other was still breathing.
"The fuck were you doing running outside like that?!" Bobby yelled loud enough to be heard in the hall.
Jack's brothers finally came to the hospital to visit him, and the very first thing Bobby did was smack him in the back of the head. Granted, it wasn't as hard as he would usually do it, but it still stung a bit as Jack rubbed the spot. "Jesus, what was that for?!"
"Were you trying to get yourself killed?" Jerry added, but at a more reasonable level.
"That asshole called Mom a whore. I wasn't thinking."
"Yeah, we know you weren't." But once he heard what was said, Angel wondered if he wouldn't have tried to chase that motherfucker too.
Jack knew his brothers weren't happy about him getting hurt, but what he didn't realize was that they were each more upset with themselves than with him. If they hadn't been arguing, they would've noticed when he disappeared. They wouldn't have almost lost him like they lost their mother. Bobby had it the worst because to him, being the oldest meant being responsible for all of his little brothers, and especially his baby brother, who didn't have as much experience in this kind of life as the rest of them.
Instead of ever admitting how terrified he'd been at the idea of losing a brother, he continued on as he sat in your vacant chair. "Jackie, you ever do some shit like that again, I'll beat your ass."
"Alright, Bobby. I think he gets it." Jerry looked back to Jack again, gesturing towards the suitcase in the corner. "Where's your girl?"
Jack cracked a smile. "She went to get us some lunch. The food they serve here is shit."
"That girl must really fuckin' love you," Bobby said as he put his boots up on the edge of the bed. "She's been here all week."
"You found yourself a good one, Jackiepoo." Angel mussed his hair, and Jack pushed his arm away in annoyance. "Don't fuck it up."
"Wasn't planning on it."
Bobby scoffed. "What do you know about good women, Angel?"
"Don't even start, Bobby!"
After a little more bickering, Jack's brothers took the time to tell him everything that had happened since the shooting. How Green had helped hide Jack's survival before he was shot by Fowler—who Angel had easily tricked into getting himself killed—and how they had used the money meant for Sweet to get Jerry's old union friends on their side. Now, Victor Sweet's body wouldn't be found for months, and he would never hurt anyone else again.
It was over half an hour before you opened the door and walked into the room holding a takeout bag, which you placed on the rolling table next to the bed. "Hey, guys. If I'd known you all were coming, I would've ordered more food."
"Don't worry about it," Jerry said, "We've gotta go anyway. I'm picking the girls up from school today."
"That's too bad." Looking between all four of them, you asked what you'd spent so many days hoping for. "Since you're visiting, I assume that means there's good news?"
"Yeah." Bobby sat up from the chair with a pained hiss, patting Jack on his good shoulder. "You don't have to worry about Sweet tryin' to kill your girlfriend anymore."
Jack glared at his oldest brother, and you rolled your eyes as you pulled containers from the paper bag.
"Let's go, man." Angel nodded towards the door. "Camille's gonna chew our asses out if we make Jerry late."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm comin'."
Alone again, you moved the table in front of Jack and took your food with you as you flopped down in the now empty chair. "So, is it really over? I mean, your brothers are going to be the number one suspects."
Jack picked up a plastic fork in his left hand and awkwardly scooped up some of his noodles. "The police interrogated them this morning. They don't have anything on them. No witnesses and no evidence."
"That's good." Even with the joy of Jack being alive and well, Sweet's presence had still kept you on edge. There was a fear that he might get the better of the Mercer brothers and eventually kill Jack once he discovered his survival. But the bastard was finally gone. Evelyn Mercer was avenged, and her boys would walk away clean. "Now you can leave in a few days like the doctor said."
Jack had never liked hospitals much, but who did? The only thing that made it bearable was the fact that you were there with him. Still, he was going to light up a celebratory cigarette the moment they rolled him out the front door.
"Can't wait."
The chilly December air bit at Jack's face as he blew out a cloud of smoke. His brothers were working on fixing up the house as a group of neighborhood kids played hockey in the street. Everything was calm—normal, even—for the first time in weeks.
You sat on the sidewalk with Daniela and Amelia, all three of you scribbling on the surface with different colors of chalk. The moment he noticed their box of chalk and mentioned to them that you were an artist, they practically begged you to draw with them. So he'd parked his wheelchair a few feet away as you bonded with his little nieces.
Amelia nudged your arm and pointed to her drawing. "Do you like my flowers?"
"I love them!"
"What about mine?" Daniela asked.
"They're all beautiful," you said, delighted as both of them grinned. "Flowers are just what we need on a cold, snowy day like this. Don't you think?"
The girls quickly declared that they were going to draw even more of them, but before they could, Sofi and Camille called out from the front door.
"Okay, okay. No more work for today."
"That's right. Come in the house, wash your hands. You too, girls!"
You grabbed the little plastic bucket and helped the girls put away all of the pieces of chalk. "Maybe we can draw more later." They ran off towards their parents with the bucket in hand, and you brushed yourself off as you got to your feet.
Jack grinned at you and carefully bent over the arm of the chair to put his cigarette out in a pile of snow, holding onto the butt to throw away inside. He could almost hear his mom reminding him not to litter, and certainly not in her yard.
You gripped the handles of his wheelchair and leaned down, capturing his lips in a kiss when he turned his head towards you. Jack happily kissed you back and ignored the annoyed look from Bobby, who was still over by the saw. Giving him one extra peck at the end, you straightened up and pushed him down the sidewalk towards the path to the front door and the ramp that Jerry had built.
Jack hated that his still healing shoulder kept him from wheeling himself around. He hated that you had to help him change into his clothes, and even help him shower or get out of the chair just to take a piss. But the first time he expressed that, you reminded him that he would do the same thing for you in a heartbeat if your roles were reversed, and he knew it was absolutely true.
Angel was right. He'd found a good woman. In spite of his injuries and the rough road ahead, he was happy to be alive so he could keep doing his best to be the kind of man you deserved.

Pairing: Reggie x Bobby’s Sister Reader
Word Count: 2.5K
Request: Hey, I was wondering if you would write a reader x Reggie imagine, where reader is Bobby’s sister and secretly having a relationship with Reggie without the rest of the band knowing about it.
Warnings: very light swearing
A/N: this fic also doubles as my (very late) submission to @jatp-btr week! I decided to set it in 2020 with Julie and the Phantoms going on tour but the guys are alive and Bobby is still a tennager! Also, shoutout to @txrii, who’s playlist of songs that Sunset Curve would cover got me through the final stretch of writing this! Anon, I hope you like this!! As always, let me know what you think and drop a comment/ask/message to be added to my taglist!

___
“Hey Reg,” you said softly, smiling shyly as his face appeared on your phone screen.
You didn’t have any reason to be shy, you and Reggie had been dating for over a year and had known each other for much longer, but you still hadn’t gotten used to your only face-to-face conversation being over FaceTime. Plus, you’d learned to be wary when the two of you called, you didn’t want to say something mushy and have one of the guys behind him, or worse, your brother.
When you and Reggie had started dating you’d decided to keep it secret from your twin brother, and by default Luke and Alex too. Reggie had reasoned that Bobby would be pissed at him for starting up a romantic relationship with you, which was fair given how protective your slightly older brother had always been of you. However, you were certain he’d be more upset with you for dating one of his best friends and bandmates. So, you didn’t tell him. And then months went by and all of a sudden you were passing one year and Sunset Curve was going on tour and they still hadn’t told him.
“Hey, Y/N,” Reggie responded with a grin, clearly psyched to be able to talk to you.
“Are the guys around?” You started to ask when you were interrupted.
“Reggie, did you say Y/N?” A voice called from the background and all of a sudden your boyfriend was being pushed out of the frame and Luke’s face was front and center.
You giggled exasperatedly at the boy but smiled.
“Hi Luke,” you greeted and he grinned at you.
He had just opened his mouth to respond when he was shoved out of frame as well, Alex now taking his place.
“Hi Y/N!” He yelled and you winced slightly, leaning away from your phone at the increase in volume.
“Hi Alex,” you said quieter, though trying to match his enthusiasm in your tone. “Where’s Bobby? And Julie and Flynn?” You asked, trying to rush through any more potential disruptions.
“Bobby’s in the bathroom and Julie and Flynn are on their bus,” Alex explained while struggling to keep Luke from pushing him out of frame.
With Sunset Curve being such a large group (five performers and their manager), and all of them being so young, their parents decided it was for the best that the girls get one tour bus and the guys get another. Plus, you were pretty sure Ray was not very keen on Julie and Luke sleeping in the same space now that they had started dating, even though they were both adults and you knew Luke was asexual. Still, parents will be parents you supposed.
Besides, it meant there were fewer opportunities for interruptions when you called Reggie while they were on the road.
“Y/N how come you always call Reggie and never me?” Luke pouted, finally having shoved his way back into the frame.
“Don’t be ridiculous, I called you yesterday,” you protested, rolling your eyes at the boy’s dramatics.
That had been another issue you’d had to work out when their tour had first kicked off. Calling Reggie every day was starting to seem suspicious, even though you claimed it was to talk to all of them. Alex had quickly pointed out that it was weird that you didn’t just call your brother, which you had tried to excuse as not wanting him to hog the phone time but then Luke had gotten jealous that you only called Reggie. It seemed reasonable enough when you thought about it from their perspective. You’d been friends with them all for years and they didn’t know about your relationship, so it probably did look like you were playing favorites with Reggie. So, you started making regular calls to Luke and Alex, making sure to give them enough one-on-one time on the phone with you to throw suspicion off your calls with Reggie. It had mostly worked, but Luke was still a butthead.
“Yeah but you called Reggie today,” he whined and you shook your head.
“Because it’s my turn,” Reggie responded for her, pushing both boys away so he could fill the screen once again. You hoped nobody noticed the way your smile brightened when you saw your boyfriend.
“Don’t you guys have other things to do?” He whined and you could practically hear Luke and Alex pouting off-camera so you tried to put on your best understanding-but-disappointed look.
“Sorry guys, it’s Reggie’s time,” you said, though not really sorry about it.
“I feel like it’s always Reggie’s time,” you heard Luke grumble and rolled your eyes.
“Maybe I like him better than you,” you shot back, with a raised brow.
You heard him gasp from off-camera and then you heard the stomping of feet and Reggie grinned broadly at you.
“It’s not nice to lie, Y/N!” Luke yelled as he stomped away, and you heard Alex yelp as he was dragged away with him. “We all know I’m your favorite! I’m everybody’s favorite.”
“Nicely done,” he commended you and you laughed.
“I don’t even know what I did,” you admitted, assuming it would be a much larger fight to get Luke and Alex away.
“Well, whatever it was worked,” he chuckled before his face fell. “I wish you were here.”
Your smile turned melancholy at that. It was certainly nice to be able to see him every day when you got a chance to call, but it was nothing compared to actually being together.
“We’ll be together again before you know it,” you tried to comfort.
“We still have two months of touring!” He whined and you nodded.
Sunset Curve did still have two more months of touring, but what Reggie didn’t know was that as soon as they stepped foot on US soil to finish off the last leg of their tour, you’d be joining them. You’d been in cahoots with your brother, Flynn, and Julie to plan everything in secret. Of course, you were really only planning to surprise Reggie, but to throw off suspicions you had to claim to want to surprise all the guys. You’d be traveling on the girls’ bus but everybody knew you’d be spending the most time with the guys. You did grow up with them, after all, whereas you’d only known Julie and Flynn for a couple of years.
Still, it was difficult to talk to Reggie every day, watch him pout as he whined about missing you and how long you had before you’d see each other again, without throwing in the towel and telling him everything. The look on his face will be worth it, you had to remind yourself each time.
So, you nodded along, strategically choosing your words to avoid lying to your boyfriend.
“I only have a couple more minutes, babe,” you said after about a half-hour had gone by with the two of you sharing about your days.
“Oh, right, your class,” Reggie groaned, not wanting to hang up.
“Believe me, I don’t like this any more than you do,” you sighed, giving him a tight-lipped smile. “But, I’ll text you when it’s over and maybe we can call later?”
Reggie nodded.
“Don’t find any cute girls to replace me while I’m gone,” you joked and he shook his head.
“How can I? I’ll be thinking about you the whole time,” he replied and you smiled shyly.
“I love you, Reg,” you said softly.
“I love you too, Y/N.”
___
You were practically running across the airport. No, not practically, you were running through the airport.
You and Bobby had strategically planned your flight out to the east coast to meet them so that you would land a little before them and be at the airport waiting for them when they arrived. Neither of you had considered delays in your plan and so you were running from your gate across the airport to try to get to the boys’ gate before they disembarked the plane.
You could feel your phone vibrating in your back pocket and cursed quietly to yourself, knowing it was Bobby texting you that they were getting off the plane. You groaned, though in your out-of-breath state it came out as more of a stuttered whine.
You were pretty sure you were nearly there when you heard it.
“Y/N?” A voice called out, sounding confused.
You cursed mentally, having hoped to have some time to compose yourself before seeing them, but obviously, you were too late.
“Reggie, what are you talking about?” You heard Luke ask the boy and you could practically hear your twin’s knowing smirk before you saw it.
When you finally spotted the group of teenagers grouped just outside the gate your eyes slid right past your brother and all your friends, finally locking onto blue-green eyes. Before you even realized what you were doing you were running again, launching yourself at your dark-haired boyfriend. Reggie caught you in his arms, spinning you around slightly before placing your feet on the ground. The two of you stared into each other’s eyes for a moment, relishing in the feeling of being in each other’s arms again before remembering the company you were in. Reluctantly you stepped out of his arms before embracing Luke and Alex, still thrilled to see two of your closest friends just in a different way than Reggie.
“What, no hug for me?” Bobby asked with a frown once you’d hugged Julie and Flynn as well.
You scoffed, wrinkling your face as if the prospect of hugging your brother was revolting.
“If I must,” you sighed before wrapping your arms around your twin. “I missed you.” You added more sincerely. You had never been the kind of twins that were attached at the hip, but this tour had certainly been the longest and farthest you’d been from each other.
You pulled away, moving back to stand by Reggie who was staring at you with a mix of awe and adoration that you hoped the rest of the group missed.
“Wh-when? How? I- I can’t believe you’re here,” he stuttered out, pulling you into his side and you grinned.
“Bobby, Jules, and Flynn helped me plan it all out,” you explained, smiling up at the boy. “I wanted to surprise you.” You turned to smile at Luke and Alex, knowing they were included in the surprise even though it was really only intended for Reggie.
“So wait, I don’t get it, what are you doing all the way on the east coast?” Alex asked, puzzled and you laughed while Luke smacked his chest. “Surely you didn’t fly all the way out here just to see us?”
“No, you idiot! She’s joining us on tour!” Luke exclaimed before faltering, eyes flicking between you, Bobby, Julie, and Flynn for confirmation. “…Right?”
You nodded, laughing again.
“Yes, I got sick of missing you guys while you were traveling the world,” you grinned and Reggie squeezed your shoulder, a reminder that his arm was still around you. Luckily all the guys were pretty touchy so it seemed friendly enough. “So I’ll be with you for the rest of the tour!”
The guys all cheered at your announcement and you grinned, so thankful to be back with them.
___
You’d made it surprisingly long into the North American leg of their tour before any mishaps occurred. You couldn’t quite believe you’d made it that long given that all you and Reggie wanted to do in your free time was stay wrapped up in each other but there wasn’t exactly the privacy for that.
Still, you couldn’t help but be frustrated when the slip-up finally happened.
You’d been backstage before one of their concerts, the guys had left you and Reggie alone in their dressing room so you took advantage of your momentary privacy and leaned in to give your boyfriend a good-luck kiss on the cheek. Of course, it was just your luck that the guys would bust back in looking for their bandmate just as your lips made contact with his cheek and before you knew it you were giving the other three boys good luck kisses and mentally cursing yourself while Reggie held back a laugh.
Needless to say, you were more careful next time but you were still stuck giving good luck kisses for the next few performances because the guys insisted that they actually performed better.
Of course, that whole ordeal was completely forgotten on the night of their last performance. You were all back in LA and after this performance, you’d be returning to your own homes and beds to sleep for the first time in weeks for you and months for the rest of the group. You knew they were all excited to be back home even though they loved touring.
You were excited to be home too, and maybe that was why you completely forgot the lesson you’d learned earlier on the tour and pulled Reggie in for a kiss when the guys stepped out of the dressing room for the final show.
It had meant to be a quick kiss so that the two of you could follow right behind them without arousing suspicions. However, you didn’t stop him when he pulled you in closer, prolonging your kiss. You were so focused on each other that neither of you heard the door open as Luke came back in to grab his forgotten guitar pick.
“Holy shit!” He yelled back down the hallway, scaring you and Reggie.
The two of you jumped apart hastily, but the damage had already been done. You could hear two pairs of footsteps as Bobby and Alex came running back down the hallway.
“You both owe me ten bucks!” Luke yelled triumphantly as the two boys appeared in the doorway.
“Aw, man are you serious?” Alex whined. “You guys couldn’t have waited until after the concert?”
Your jaw dropped open as the blond drummer and your brother began rummaging through their coats that had been left strewn across the dressing room couch for their wallets, each pulling out a ten-dollar bill and handing them to the guitarist.
“Y-you… you knew? And you were betting on us?” You sputtered, looking between the three guys in pure disbelief before whirling on your brother. “I can’t believe you!”
“Sorry, y/n, you’re not slick at all,” he shrugged, smiling smugly. “All the phone calls to Reggie specifically and then the good luck kisses?” He shook his head mockingly.
“But, it was fun to watch you both squirm,” Luke added and you glared at him.
“I can’t believe you guys,” you pouted, glaring at the three of them.
“Well, at least we don’t have to sneak around anymore,” Reggie pointed out, slipping his hand into your own and you turned to smile up at him.
You leaned up to press a kiss to his lips and heard the guys groan.
“Okay but I still don’t want to see that!” Bobby whined and you smiled into the kiss, flipping your twin off with your free hand.
“What the hell are you guys still doing back here, we have a show to do!” You heard Julie call, her voice getting closer as she approached. “Oh, I see. It’s great that you guys are public now but we still have to get onstage.”
You laughed as you pulled away from the kiss.
“Knock ‘em dead, rockstar,” you said softly before letting go of his hand so he could follow his bandmates out into the hallway.
