A Pragmatic and surprisingly comforting perspective about the Trump 2nd Presidency from the ACLU
***Apologies if this is how you found out the 2024 election results***
Blacked out part is my name.

I’m not going to let this make me give up. It’s disheartening, and today I will wallow, probably tomorrow too
AND
I will continue to do my part in my community to spread the activism and promote change for the world I want to live in. I want to change the world AND help with the dishes.
And I won’t let an orange pit stain be what stops me from trying to be better.
A link to donate to the ACLU if able and inclined. I know I am

Housekeeping

I'd like to thank everyone who was willing to let me put a sign at their home for this election. It really means a lot to me that you were willing to donate your space to support my campaign.
We've done a sweep of all of East Brunswick and picked up all of our signs that we could see from homes and public locations. (EB fun fact: I learned that you can drive 80 miles without leaving East Brunswick just picking up signs.)
Sometimes we would go to a house and the sign was already gone. If you still have one of my signs, please let me know, and I can come get it so it's not taking up space, or so you don't have to get rid of it.
Thanks!

Wilbur Pan for East Brunswick Board of Education
I know it's been a while. Back in the summer, I decided to run for our local Board of Education. That's taken quite a bit of time, as you might imagine. If you're interested, more information is at the link above.
But don't worry. I haven't forgotten about woodworking. My new series on Japanese plane setup isn't dead. And I'm looking forward to my talks at Kezurou-kai USA and Woodworking in America in a couple of weeks. See you there!

I want to express my sincere thanks to everyone who helped me through the election: those who let me bounce ideas off of them, those who gave me valuable help and input, those who were willing to volunteer their time and space on their lawns to help get the word out, and those who gave me words of encouragement when I needed it.
But there is one person I need to thank specifically. All the way back earlier this summer, I was still just floating the idea of running for the EBBOE, and wondering if this was something I could pull off. More than a few people told me, "Of course you can do this. You've got Mary!"
That is so true. Without Mary Pan, none of this would happen. I am so grateful and thankful to have Mary as a partner in this and everything else we do.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me with the campaign. I really appreciate it more than anyone knows, and I will work hard to help our students, our families, our teachers and ESPs, and our schools.
