The Eras Tour | Midnights section | Version 7

Jenny Packham custom dress and coat

In a night full of plot twists (Exhibit A: There will be no explanation there will just be a second reputation bodysuit), the one that actually has me the most stumped is this designer switch during the Midnights set. 

Taylor has worn a number of sparkling “Anti-Hero” shirt dresses that are a blink-and-you-miss-it moment in the show. She only briefly wears this piece right before a dramatic on-stage costume change that leads into “Midnight Rain”. All of the dresses, including the coordinating faux fur shag jacket, have been by Oscar de la Renta. Until now, that is, with this new addition by Jenny Packham - coat included. 

On a personal note, it’s such a thrill to see Jenny Packham’s designs brought back into Taylor’s rotation. She used to wear a number of JP pieces back in the day, mostly from 2010-2013 and typically as sparkling performance wear. One thing I’ve often noted is how Eras Tour costuming excels at referencing and refreshing the iconic designs of Taylor’s past. This feels like a more subtle and IYKYK moment to tap one of Taylor’s earliest designer loves for a moment on the Eras Tour stage. 

The “Anti-Hero” dresses themselves are a wily bunch, both because they’re only worn for a short period and also because their fabrication and sparkle factor make it a little tough to tell them apart. Thus far, we have received (nicknames are patent pending /joke): Confetti, Blue, Pink, Purple, “Rainbow Fish” / Iridescent, Dark Purple and now a new colourway which I will call “Purple Confetti” because its lavender base and chunky Swarovski crystals and paillette embroidery falls close to the original Version 1 Confetti of this dress. The coordinating lavender and “aurora borealis” faux fur jacket also came with matching paillette embroidery.

happy halloweeen!! here's my take on a "core refresh" pack (part 6)

frankie's fashion is very experimental. they like to explore themselves through what they wear since they're just learning things about the world. to symbolize their personality, they have a "quirky" style of fashion. mostly mismatched, mostly all over the place. there's not really a category for frankie's style... not that i can think of. they like to wear anything, honestly. dresses, suits, overalls, shirts, shorts, boots, heels. they're trying to figure out their style, so sometimes they'll incorporate some more colors. they like black and white, but they add teal in. yellow is another color added.

they don't wear real/natural silver because they've learned that this can harm their fellow monsters. any silver accessories they have is fake (painted grey, because that's a way to work around it)

they experiment with piercings

this was in my og design, but they have a huge patch over their left eye. it's plaid, so sometimes they try their best to match their outfits well enough for them to look aesthetically pleasing

likes patterns. stripes, plaid, etc. etc.

clawdeen's fashion is furry and bold. again, this is the fashionista of the school. she is the queen of fashion. again, she likes fur and animal print. whatever she chooses to wear is what usually sets the trends and expectations for those at monster high. she loves to explore herself though. i'd say her style evolves, but these are the main ideas of her fashion. she loves purple, but she also loves green. maybe has a french fashion inspiration? i don't really know how to label it. it's sort of mcbling, but also the style you'd expect of a very cunty aunt who likes shopping. she likes pants best, ngl. jeans are great. skirts are fine by her, she just loves pants.

i like the idea of clawdeen constantly changing up her style. yes, she can also wear something like her g3 outfits. much more coordinated. what i've displayed is the style that takes up most of her closet, tho

she wears glasses, but she has different pairs for each outfit

green is a color she loves so much but doesn't make use of it enough

the wolf family has a little emblem thing i've snuck onto each. it's a golden circle pendant with a small moon on the inside, two little bars holding up the design so it floats. it could also look like a money symbol... idk like coins. it's good luck. mostly for money manifesting and all. she runs with the gold and goes crazy. only gold, no bronze accessories. ever.

on days of the full moon, she will wear super loose clothing. the moon cycles could also impact her fashion choices.

draculaura's fashion is very iconic. a sort of gothy, classic, and romantic sort of look. i'd say she likes to take a spin on victorian styles and make them modern... while also mashing together those 2010s pink/black skull prints and tees that we all know and love. i really like the idea of her in a long dress that hits the floor. i would say she's romantic goth. she likes frills, long ball gowns, lace, and hats that can cover her from the sun whenever she has to travel outside in the daytime. lots of slip dresses if she wants to be more casual. elegance, but done cutely.

the silhouette of an outfit is what matters most to her when it comes to fashion

if she wears a skirt, she wears a big petticoat underneath. a very big petticoat

her parasol can be used interchangeably with a large hat. she always wants either or to match her outfit. and they are always kind of extra

her "victorian" style is a sort of nod to her immortality. she probably likes that fashion period best and likes to try and honor that

i like the idea of her experimenting with her hair. it was a g3 idea, kinda. but bangs, streaks, half and half, etc. i like to imagine draculaura being into the big goth hair

cleo's style is very similar to her g1 style. gold. blues. elegant, fresh, modern, and incredibly easy on the eyes. obviously, she loves to flaunt her designer clothing around school. and since she is so popular, it's expected for her to serve look after look. you will never ever see her look bad. every cleo portrayal i've seen never has enough mummy wrap. she needs it to survive and yet, she only has like, one or two bands on her arms. my cleo's fashion is all about wrap-themed clothing. she has lots of wraps. sometimes she comes up with ways to mix that or even show off her monster trait and heritage. she loves see-through, glittery material too, obviously paired on top of something. but it's glamourous. it's rich. it's sometimes a little 90s inspired, but mostly fresh.

this cleo loves pants. loose pants work, i suppose. but she likes them baggy. one of the best examples of what she likes to wear for pants would be those baggy pyramid-textued pants i designed for her once

gets custom made jewelry (braclets, earrings, etc) that spell out her name in hieroglyphics

likes shorter skirts, but secretly admires longer skirts ten times more

blue lover. any shade. try her. she will obviously mix around her makeup, nails, and hair to work around whatever blue she's feeling

loves gems. lots of gems. real ones, obviously.

doesn't like socks very much. she can literally just do the same thing socks do for feet with mummy wrap. same with stockings

All alone, you wrung your hands restlessly. You had received a call from one of the President's men instructing you to wait in the west sitting hall, part of the White House's residential area, for a face-to-face meeting with the President himself. Why on earth would the President want to see you alone? How bad of a job could you be doing as a lowly secretary where you required the attention of the country’s most powerful man? Puzzled, your eyes darted around the room.

The west sitting hall was both palatial and comfortable-- an austere half-moon-shaped window provided an elegant backdrop to the green and white floral couch and matching chairs, one of which you were anxiously curled up in.

Your train of thought was quickly derailed by the authoritative sound of a man’s footsteps approaching the room. Abruptly, you stood up and straightened your dress. Your heart clanged in your chest so ferociously you could have sworn you were about to faint.

John F. Kennedy, the President of the United States, stood before you in his expensive, well-tailored navy blue suit. He towered over you, making you feel even weaker in his presence. Though you had interacted with the President briefly many times during your few weeks as a secretary, you had never been alone together like this. Rather than giving you the reprimanding look you expected, he gazed at you rather... ravenously.

You hated to admit it, but you loved the way he looked at you. Though Kennedy was a married man, not to mention the President of the United States, you couldn't help but relish in his lustful gaze. The way his stormy blue-green eyes wandered as he looked down at your minuscule, delicate frame like you were his most prized possession sent you into a frenzy. Though you understood you were no more than one of John F. Kennedy's many sexual conquests, being in his presence like this made you feel like you were the only two people left on Earth. And then, oh God, he smirked and shot you a wink.

"You're a pretty little thing, you know that?" The President quipped in his charming Boston accent. "Now I've got you right where I want you."

You couldn't believe what you were hearing. The other women you worked with used their familiarity with the President as a kind of status symbol. You were lucky if he knew your name. Like a marionette controlled by an unseen force, you turned around, reached for your zipper, and slinked free from your cotton shirtdress. More and more people come over, questioning whether you’ll be going to the game. You are answering most questions until a new gaggle of people were ahead, and it looked like a similar situation people thrusting paper into a man’s hands who was wearing sunglasses despite the cloudy Parisian afternoon.

People who were talking to you took quick notice of the man ahead, and people with him started to take notice of you until the two groups sort of merged into one until you were back to back signing stuff with the random man.

Eventually security came and managed to get the two of you away from the crowds to keep everything moving on quickly.

“Yeah, pretty often actually” he laughs.

“What, er what do you do?” You’d asked shyly not knowing who he was.

“I’m a formula one driver? And your that new hot shot footballer right?” He asked narrowing his eyes.

“And yeah, we watched the game together and the rest is history. He is without a doubt the love of my life!” You grinned looking out to him and his radiant smile.

If you're going to be a hockey fan, you should know the number one rule: don't date within the division.

The notorious ad aside, it's pretty clear, once it gets to playoffs with you two, everything's off the table. Especially if you're throwing couch cushions across the room when you're team can't convert on a power play. Cough, the leafs, cough.

Which made it especially weird when you, a Boston Bruins fan ended up dating Yoon Keeho, a fucking Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

"Oh my god are the refs blind?! That's clearly a holding call!" he cries. Ah, it really doesn't get sweeter than this.

"Shut up, he just boarded Lohrei with that! Penalty for both of them," you snarl out, eyes fixated on the tv screen, watching the play-by-play slo-mo of the hit. Lohrei crumpling against the boards as Holmberg practically folds him. "Look! They're not even calling it. Did you see Carolina yesterday? they were calling everything that breathed wrong."

With a sigh, both you and Keeho take a shot. At this rate, you both could be professional alcoholics with how many missed penalty calls there've been this series. You can already feel the regret in the morning trying to sink in with this drinking game.

Keeho hums beside you, but he's been practically vibrating out his skin the entire game. "That's just Svechnikov no? He's massi—OH MY GOD WILLIAM NYLANDER YOU SWEDISH BEAUTY!"

The screen erupts as Nylander finally opens the scoring for the Leafs. A sea of horrific blue and white exploding into cheers. Idly, you think it's the most lively you've seen Scotiabank Arena in years.

"Ugh, really?" And you just have to flop back into the couch corner as Keeho takes his victory lap around the room. Dressed in, of course, his Nylander jersey.

"Oh yeah baby! I could marry that man," he laughs, before very comically and somehow very seriously turning back to you. "After you, babe. Of course after you, love of my life, angel of my univer-"

You hurl one of your last pillows at him. "Sit back down, idiot." The high flush on his face is pretty adorable, even if his alcohol breath stinks when he curls in next to you on the couch. Both of you are going to be crawling out of bed tomorrow for sure.

From above and below your small apartment you can hear the same screams. With the window propped open, you can even hear horns go off in the streets. Capital of Hockey and all that. Moving here to be with Keeho had been hard to do, but so much more worth it for the hockey. Especially when Boston comes rolling into town: being the only Bruins fan for rows on rows was intimidating but so much sweeter if they won.

"I'm your idiot, idiot," he croons into your neck. Peppering you with cute and sloppy kisses across your skin. You finger's curl idly into his hair as you watch the ads spin by on the tv, signalling the end of the second period. His cold fingertips curl around your waist, idly smoothing circles into it. Curled up like this, it's the cosiest you could ask for - and somehow you don't mind the lack of pillows. You both make up for it with your shared body heat.

Carefully, you extract your phone from under him like he's a jenga tower about to fall, but game-drunk like this, he could probably sleep through the Leafs Stanley cup parade if they did win for once.  

Twitter's the same as you left it: another TicTacTOmar clip of Lohrei and Holmberg, more Steve Dangle commentary and your Boston moots crowing about how the Leafs will lose it in the third period. Very, very secretly, you don't think they will. Swayman vs Woll as goalies are brilliant – and terribly good looking – but it must be the phase of the moon or something stupid, but Toronto might just win it this game.

Looking down at your sleeping beauty, Keeho is blissfully passed out on your chest. Face semi-flushed, mouth agape and drool leaking out. Yeah, this is going in the camera roll.

A quick snap and a venture into your settings is all it takes to set the glorious picture as your lock screen. And, if you squint, you can see Draisaitl's neon orange Skip ad in the background. Exactly why you're dating him in the first place.

"You really are my idiot, idiot," you murmur and you press a kiss to his hairline, a warm feeling roiling in your stomach.

Stashing your phone away, you ready yourself with a minute on the clock until the third starts. Saying that, you should really wake sleeping beauty up. "Hey... hey, get up. The Leafs lost in overtime again."

His eyes blink blearily as he processes your words. Slowly, then all at once, you can see the panic settle into his eyes as he sees your shit-eating grin. “No they didn't,” he whispers, but it borders on desperate.

You really can't help yourself. "Yup! There was even a line brawl," you sigh dramatically, bringing your hand to your forehead with a flair. "Swayman was even fighting Woll, a whole goalie scrap and you missed it."

"Nope! Not believing it." Keeho finally has the common sense to turn to look at the screen and realise the third's just begun. The stare of disappointment he gives you is cold enough to give Winnipeg a run for its money. "Never again."

You roll your eyes but just pat the space next to you for him to settle down properly on. "C'mon, whoever loses this has to get breakfast."

“You’re so on,” he huffs to agree, taking a bodily effort to sit back against the couch and on your cold feet. There’s a fire in his eyes that makes you regret this already. “I’m so making you drive to Timmy’s.”

Deep in your heart, if you had to choose Boston or Toronto to win the cup, you'd still choose Boston. But no matter how this series ends, you'd still love your boyfriend very, very much.

AKIØ (아키오) is a member of the co-ed 4th gen group "Stray Kids" but was formally a trainee under YG Entertainment and was set to debut with BLACKPINK before being cut due to her young age and simply not being ready to debut at the time. Not wanting to let her talent go to waste, YG recommended her to JYP, and they decided to test her skills and see if she really was an 'ace' as YG proclaimed. Members Bang Chan, Felix, and Minho were there at her evaluation, and first hand experienced her overwhelming talent. After some long hours and days of convincing, Bang Chan convinced JYP that Aiko needed to be apart of the Stray Kids survival show and as per his request, JYP gave in and decided to let her be apart of it.

Darling Charming 2 New And Improved!

I wanted to do an updated version of this post because, it was really just my second attempt at doing something like this so it's not really the best and I've learned quite a bit more about 18th century fashion since then and I'm not really satisfied with that post anymore. Darling was the fist character that I decided to make these posts on because everybody kind of knows that her design was 18th century inspired. I think that it's just one of the recognisable historical styles .

Starting with the dress, it has an open front showing another layer underneath like most styles of dresses from the Georgian period which usually had a petticoat underneath as well as a matching stomacher if one was worn. The robe robe a la francaise is, I think the most iconic for this look. The robe a la francaise also featured large box pleats at the back and were commonly worn over side hoops which gave the iconic wide hip look.

I think that darlings dress more closely resembles an English gown or robe a l’anglaise which is more fitted and less often worn with side hops therefore usually having a more round skirt shape.

Either way it doesn't really matter as I doubt that the people designing these outfits really had this in mind. But I'll leave this article by the American Duchess which dose a good job explaining the different styles of 18th century gowns if you're interested.

We also have those lovely elbow length frilled sleeves which were common on fashionable gowns.

The print on her dress really resembles some of the floral patterns common during this period, such as these ones I found in the Met's online collections.

the underlayer's pattern is more subtle and and resembles these silk woven fabrics.

Her hair is swept back and curled in a way that's meant to reference the large fancy hair styles iconic to the period, mostly around the mid 18th century. Feathers, ribbons and jewellery were all pretty common hair pieces.

Her hair is also verry light which is again a reference to white powdered hair.

While were talking about hair I'd also like to mention that we plenty of primary sources indicating the use of blue and pink hair powder during this time. I don't know a lot about that (or just historical hair in general I'm trying my best), but Abbey Cox did a great video the history of coloured hair, and after watching that I was able to find portraits showing it. It's such a niche fun fact that I don't think that it was intentional and they probably just chose blue to go with the colour scheme they already had but it's still cool.

Her jewellery was interesting to look into, full disclosure I don't know much about jewellery outside of the Victorian era and even then my knowledge is pretty limited so I was mainly digging through the V&A archives and comparing them.

Her necklaces are I think the most similar. You got the jewels arranged in a circle around another jewel and the elaborate patterns.

I think her bracelet is more armour inspired I'm not really able to get a good enough look at it to notice much detail.

dangly earrings sort of like hers I've seen a lot of but rather different.

With her flower shaped ring I was either expecting to either find nothing or something similar but smaller which they made more bulky for doll production. I didn't find a similar ring, most were verry simple in shape, but I did find this broch and gasped verry loudly when I did because it was so similar.

I might do another one on her dragon games outfit, but I don't really think there's anything there, and this post is getting long, nothing compared with what I have in the works for Lizzie but... I have homework to do and this has already taken up enough of my time.

let's show some love to the Og Mother of Dragons (Okay so technically GoT came out before Memory World chapters but shush), The Lady of White herself Kisara!!!!

Unlike some female characters in yugioh her development (or lack there of) wasn't due to poor writing so much as it was because Takahashi-senses was unable to have the time to write what he wanted, to expand on her story/character more.

Still for what we do get; she's quiet but still strong, powerful choosing only to fight in defense of others and never forgets a kindness- even after all those years she never forgot the boy who set her free. Arguably in away Set/Seto doesn't control her spirit/ Ka but instead she chooses to fight by his side even in death.

She also makes for a fantastic parallel to Bakura- both having grown up enduring much hardship and suffering. He chooses to inflict that suffering back on others deserving or not where as she doesn't. Both wield powers near the level of a God his of darkness and hers of light.

She's quite literally the physical embodiment of a powerful dragon/ duel monster. And arguably one of the most iconic monsters in yugioh at this point too.

Kisara may not have as much going for as so many others due to her limited screen time but I think even with what little we do get there is an amazing character to be found with boundless untapped potential (much like Kisara herself in a way I suppose)

Vote for the Dragon girl! Let's see how far she can go!

Alright, I’m still waiting to see if they stick the landing but at 50% of the way through the story I’m enjoying myself enough to actively shill for Exoprimal

Y’all, the marketing around this game did it SO dirty, it’s wild.

I went into this expecting some pve crumbs in a pvp focused game, I knew and accepted that as I was really just chasing the high of early OW days when I truly loved playing Reinhardt, getting to protect my team and live the Wall power fantasy with Roadblock

What I did not expect, was a PvE mode that evolves in relation to the story you unlock through completing matches. Nor did I expect to actually get invested in said story!

It’s simple (so far) with well trod character tropes for the genre, calm and cool leader, soldier with a chip on her shoulder, eccentric tech expect etc, but all written with the feeling of someone who actually likes this genre of sci-fi and not as an irony poisoned nod and wink to the player. It’s cheesy but earnest, being roughly 1 part Pacific Rim to 1 part Starship Troopers

There’s also just so much more story than I expected, the above image is the story map at roughly 50% complete, each of those blue icons around the outside are clues awarded after a match, data, that corresponds with deeper overarching mysteries represented by the inner rings. Collect enough relevant data, which can be audio logs, text or video, and one of the inner ones unlocks that then has a cutscene to contextualize all the data.

It’s a drip feed story that has me doing my next match to find out what happens instead of only grinding for currency or a suit upgrade. It’s not groundbreaking narrative but the dialogue is snappy and the characters are fun, so I’ve stayed invested

As for the gameplay itself, I’ve been playing for several days and touched pvp maybe 3 times. The first match you play is random (so I got pvp there, and the other two times were scripted moments in the story that took place during a match because again, the gameplay evolves with the story

The first few matches are , frankly, a bit of a cakewalk. Medium hordes of fairly easy to deal with fodder, a few larger threats thrown in. Nothing difficult and the mvp nearly invariably goes to one of the more AoE specialized DPS with supports or more single target focused DPS with not much to chew on

Cut to later missions like the ones I did before work that throw multiple specialized enemy types at you that operate at different ranges and demand everyone do their job or you get overrun. Tanks have to hold back the tide or duel with one large threat, AoE DPS need to keep the numbers on small enemies down, healers work constantly to both heal, damage and debuff while single target DPS need to surgically remove major threats such as one later mob that spawns at a distance and can silence your entire team unless it’s weak spot is hit

Commendation screens shift sharply at this point, being largely supports, tanks or DPS who really excelled. The fights are a damage race at the end of the day, but each class is rewarded strongly for playing their role and selfish play pretty much just gets you dead

There are other modes/challenges that can pop up in a match that I won’t spoil here, but have ended up beating some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a hero shooter period, making each match just a little bit more exciting because you know at any moment things could change dramatically. Going from trying to blitz the challenges in order to beat the team you’re racing to just trying to survive as you hear the words “Carnage Module Online” from the AI running these wargames is always a thrill

It’s not perfect, the pvp is…. There, but nothing to write home about even accounting for my personal exhaustion with pvp. It’s also got the seemingly obligatory battlepass mess, though (so far) it’s only cosmetics. Everything that’s gameplay related (suit upgrades/unlocks) is earned through gameplay, even a fair few of the cosmetics can be bought with match currency so the pass is far from necessary

All of this is just me saying that Capcom barely marketed this game and focused almost entirely on the least interesting aspects of it. So I’m marketing it for them because it’s the team based PvE I’ve been begging for for ages

My Top 15 Best Series 2023 (part II)

10. Platonic

An excellent "non-romantic" comedy in which its protagonists have a great time rediscovering their lost friendship. Very sharp humor, somewhat far-fetched plots, and an exploration of adult friendship that fully embraces the "buddy" subgenre to give us a great time.

9. Bodies- Cadavers

Dark is one of Netflix's most iconic and influential series, and Cadavers is its most faithful and interesting approach. Inspired by a DC comic book, it tells the threat experienced by several investigators when they discover the body of the same man murdered in different decades.

8. Nolly

With Davies' usual style, it is a festive, benevolent, and emotional vindication of his figure, with Bonham Carter absolutely spectacular in her performance.

7. One Piece

Much was feared about the adaptation of the most popular manga of all time, but One Piece, on Netflix, has conquered both fans and critics, and has also become one of the biggest audience phenomenons of the year.

6. Gen V

A great and enjoyable expansion of Ennis and Robertson's despicable heroes universe... this time with a college and dark twist. The spin-off of 'The Boys' delivers exactly what it promises. And what is promised and delivered is exactly what we want.

5. Mrs. Davis

If someone had told me before its premiere that this crazy series would be among the best of what has been released this year, I wouldn't have believed it. And it is precisely that campy factor that makes us enjoy jumping from one crazy twist to another, exploring inevitability.

4. Blue Lights

Undoubtedly, this is one of the best police series of recent years. An exploration of the streets of Belfast that fantastically handles the intensity in building danger moments in the lives of these recruitments in the probation period.

3. 30 Monedas (30 Coins)

The series sponsored by HBO Max is a crazed role-playing game where anything can happen. There are no limits to imagination or narrative constraints; plot twists prevail, surprises abound, and delirium ensues in pursuit of entertainment. Along the way, inevitably, a large number of enemies must be eliminated to reach the final villain, including unpredictable monsters and creatures. The whole package also includes extraterrestrial technology in a mind-boggling climax that sets the bar very high for the continuation of the tribulations of the brave Father Vergara and the troubled inhabitants of Pedraza.

2. Succession

The most remarkable thing about Succession is that, although the children are almost as detestable as the father, each viewer has their favorite: the characters have such complex psychological depth that the series manages to make the progress of any of them be celebrated as if it were a football match. And that's why the definition in the last episode was a masterstroke that left no one indifferent.

They both teach at the same school, maybe even same district.

Will teaches art, namely Drawing & Painting I & II, as well as AP Art & Honors Drawing for Production & Design. (He also was dragged into making props for the school musical, and started/runs the school’s GSA. Mans is SWAMPED)

Mike teaches AP Language & Comp, Creative Writing, Honors English 9, and English 11. He also runs the school’s Literary Magazine, Newspaper, and Yearbook clubs. (Mans is similarly swamped)

(They’re both considering starting up an AV club & a D&D club, but where they’ll find the money or the time, they got no clue)

Will was the reason Mike first explored teaching. Mike had taken his dad’s advice & become a business major, because it can be applied to lots of jobs & is a good way to get a job quick, but… yeah, he fucking hated it.

He ended up taking one of the education courses Will was taking, trying to fulfill some credits & figuring having a class with Will would make it bearable… and then he fell headfirst into teaching

They were hired at the same time. They student taught together, too. A wave of retirees meant most of their colleagues were new blood, like them, and… well, there was A Lot of relationship drama among the staff. It was like a freakin’ soap opera. (Did my high school have a lot of interpersonal staff relationship drama? Yes, why do you ask?)

Will & Mike came out when they got married, because Will wanted to change his last name. By this point, Will was already running the school’s GSA. They hadn’t been very public about their relationship, having been there for The Sanders Affair Of 2006 (and the subsequent divorces, marriages, and affairs that came from said affair) & making the mutual decision to keep their personal lives private… but as their district became less conservative, they hadn’t exactly hidden it, either.

Their friends on the staff all know, & some are close enough friends to get invites

Will had gone by “Mr. William” for the vast majority of his career, so it wasn’t a huge shift for his students or anything.

Mike’s nickname is just “Wheeler,” a similar sign of affection—at least, to his face.

Will’s hair has gone entirely grey. (Lonnie’s genetics, rip). Post-covid, he uses blue light glasses… unlike mike, who needs glasses full-time. (Will teases him about this quite frequently)

Mike finishes growing his hair out, but ditched the bangs. He’s one of those teachers who always has his hair in a severe ponytail (he likes manbuns, too, but you wont often see him with one bc We’re At Work, Will, I Must Be Professional)

They have matching rings, customized replicas of the One Ring bc they’re both geeks. They’re engraved to say “crazy together” in elvish. Technically these were their engagement rings… and also the rings they used when they got a domestic partnership, and also the rings they used in their wedding ceremony. For a long time, they wore them like necklaces tucked under their shirts (bc the Mike in the Math department & Sydney from Social Studies are MASSIVE gossips, and also bc LoTR is iconic & these two are cheesey af),

They started wearing them openly when Will changed his last name, though.

Will & Mike are the teachers who let students eat lunch in their classrooms. The ones who invite them in during free periods. The ones who hear about the shitty chem teacher, the asshole ex, the awful divorce, the toxic friend group, the impending move. They’re the ones who collect & display dozens of senior photos, whose hands cramp from writing yearbook messages, and the ones whose students will remember years later. They’re the ones who keep in touch—they get wedding invites and scattered letters and life updates.

Because they’re the ones who remember what it’s like to be 14, 15, and feeling like the world was about to end. They remember the bullies. They remember the isolation. They remember how awful it feels to grow apart from the people you used to hold dear, and how much they hated high school.

It’s why they love being teachers, exhausting as it is. They’re the adults they didn’t get in high school, despite their parents’ best efforts—they get to be the support they desperately needed. They get to watch their kids grow, and its so, so satisfying to know they’re giving the kids better than what they had.

But most importantly? They’re happy.

Shooting star emoji review: an special episode.

Apple: smooth trail and a superb decision to include a picture frame. The background is a yellow star utopia. This picture could belong to a lavish fairytale house with a good view of life and challenges. Happiness-inducing not too realistic star but I still love this example. Is it going through a cloud or is just the big shine of the curious twinkle star? 9/10

Google: Gets the indigo elegance right. It’s like hyacinth, vivid and mollifier. The meteoroid is sorrounded by sparkly stars and blue-ish wonders. Is the trail a crystal structure and maybe this is artificial? 6/10

Samsung: good-looking starry emoji and the meteoroid has a big white gleam exposing! Its smoothly detailed border makes this look like an app icon. You could edit it to make it an icon! The stars are a little translucent, but they look cool! The trail is fading out leaving a beautifully colored golden treasure. 8/10

Microsoft: artless, dumb-looking star with an absolutely big spotlight. not even a single tear of love and passion was put into this. no good stars, where’s the magic? Is the purple background the only magical thing about this? 2/10

WhatsApp: What a grandiose night and starry sky with a aesthetically pleasing gradient that it makes it look like it’s coming to some unknown city! The colors harmonize flawlessly with a subtlety detailed color palette which makes the viewer think this is an enchanting bliss! The big Apple’s sibling! 10/10

Twitter: it’s literally day period in this emoji. Are you seriously going to scare people with your shameful morality? Insufficient effort and love. This star has got some serious thoughts, it makes me think “I can’t know what thoughts it has because I can’t ask to it” it is also a star I guess. 1/10

Facebook: Coin-like star and we can distinguish the smoothly detailed lines on the trail! Comparable to saturn’s rings. The shine illuminates the starry night leaving a nice memory. 9/10

Skype: A genious idea to make the star sharpen and the trail having some nice detail that matches the simplicity of this emoji. Sadly, we miss the sky. The sky is an important part of this emoji in my opinion. Looks lonely, you can travel peacefully. 3/10

Twitter emoji stickers: This is comparable to the greatness of the Magellanic cloud nebulas. This shooting star is one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life. The detail is superb. It deserves to pass through the big-old mountains. The stars are so soft and white, the light pollution forbids this emoji to show more stars though, what a shame. The border with the exquisite detail with an amazing choice of colors. 10/10 add more stars and it 1000/10.

Joypixels: joyfull colorful stars with the main star having a lovely shape! Sadly, the travel is not the thing I wanted exactly as it looks solid. The subtle gradient of the sky gives this an effective look. 6.5/10

TossFace: sorry, I can’t say anything good about this except the fact that it looks just kind of cute. That does not mean this bare-bones disgrace is going to get a high rating. 1/10

Openmoji: I can say that… it looks like a doddle I often make in the middle of school time. How menacing. -10/10

Emojidex: Gets the awesome idea of making the star look 3d. Does not scream beautifulness and power. Just a poor little shooting star with copy-pasted trail. The colours are just a NO. 3/10

LG: Snowy pastel vibes in this soft little shooting star. Milky-colored wonders like this make my heart melt. The sky is calmingly colored and effective. 6.5/10

NINE. Please understand that I am mutuals-only for my own comfort & sanity. This means that I will only write with blogs that I follow and who follow me in return. Do not interact with my writing calls if we do not follow each other.

TEN. If I follow you & you have no interest in interacting, please hard-block me so I know where we stand & don't accidentally follow again.

ELEVEN. Tumblr DMs can be annoying to use, so I give my Discord to mutuals upon request.

TWELVE. I write in the third person. I use small text and italics/bold. I use icons with borders. I do not expect my writing partners to do this, I just think it looks nice. All I ask is that you trim your posts & continue asks in a new thread. I also tend to write multi-para replies. No one really needs to match length so much as give me something to work with.

THIRTEEN. I am OC and duplicate friendly! Throw your OCs at me. The only exceptions are OC children of the Doctor, which I will be rather selective about.

FOURTEEN. I’m super interested in throwing the Doctor into all sorts of crossovers. I am familiar with Good Omens, much of the MCU, Legend of Zelda (BOTW + TOTK), Fire Emblem (3H), the Borderlands Franchise, IT (Stephen King), Detroit: Become Human, Baldur’s Gate 3, DnD 5e, Lucifer, & more.

FIFTEEN. I will not ship with anyone unless our characters have some sort of chemistry going on & we have had words about it ooc. It's unlikely to happen but not impossible. I will not write romantic ships with anyone under 18. I also don’t really want to ship the Doctor with any muse who isn’t at least 22. While both mun & muse are of age, there will be no smut on this blog. The Doctor really could not be bothered— they’re ace.

SIXTEEN. This blog is multiverse, so unless otherwise discussed between muns, all interactions with different blogs are considered to be separate universes, so to speak.

SEVENTEEN. I probably won’t be reblogging many ask memes here because I always end up accumulating too many & getting overwhelmed. The best way to interact is by liking starter calls or by plotting! In fact, plotting is my lifeblood & I will rarely write without it. So don't be shy to hop into my DMs! I promise I don’t bite.
