ENG:
This is day 4 of #Bluetober2022 . I have to admit I cheated on this one because I made it like two weeks ago for a collab with other Blue Period fans on Facebook. I really really liked how it turned out and I’m glad to have been a part of this amazing project uvu
ESP:

"headcanoning mizu as transmasc is racist because mizu is half japanese" is SO disingenuous
you guys know there are transmasc japanese people right? there are transmasc people who are mixed race? is them existing also racist? should transmascs only be allowed to see similarities to their gender in white people?

wanna go drown at the beach?
(based on the poses of the first pic of this editorial by gilles bensimon, and the lighting in this pic by noah dillon) given what's currently going on in blue period world, i think this is a great moment for yatora and yuka to have another beach escapade, like in chapter 20!! i mean, they did say they would be back!

"To be a vessel of destiny's grand design — there is no greater path."
Template from @redspringstudio. I also included the full drawing of Luneth in her priestess gown below:
She kind of looks more princess than priestess, but I like it!

been at work for five hours now and a solid 50% of the songs that have played since 9.30am have been subpar covers of songs from the early aughts. it’s like the saddest fucking thing because like i love a good cover but people legit do not know how to make new songs anymore. there’s one beat that’s obviously difficult to translate into a text medium but legitimately every club song (which is most songs because people … aren’t making new songs that aren’t manufactured solely to be played in a nightclub by any bratty rich kid with a turntable among 14 other near-identical songs all also manufactured solely to be played in a nightclub by any bratty rich kid with a turntable) has it because they are quite literally all the same song
and oh my god it’s so fucking depressing. like i really and truly kept an open mind because i didn’t want to be like “back in my day blah blah blah” but like i’m a professional musician and it’s … literally the same song with slight variations and that’s the only song that exists now. that and covers on top of covers on top of covers
(i have to make it clear i am NOT talking about lizzo, she is beautiful and perfect and original and everything she does is magic. i love you lizzo)

Luna full-body reference, with Celestia for comparison.
And original designs for comparison and design notes under the cut:
Tulli worked with me a bit more on Luna. We decided to have her in a regency era dress, which matches the period of time that she was banished during (the 1820s); in stark contrast is Celestia's more modern art deco dress from the 1920s. Also in contrasts: Celestia is structured and rigid with bold lines while Luna is flowing and organic with flowers and rounded laces. Regency dresses are very youthful-looking without a lot of frills and stiff parts, while still remaining very regal and elegant. Her dark fabrics have, Epiphyllum oxypetalums, or "Princesses of the Night," embroidered on them. Her color palette was given a more cool tone to match her original design's palette.
Within the story of the AU, after returning to Canterlot, Luna cuts her hair (the source of a witch's power) short to temper herself. She wears a blue veil meant to look like her show version's hair to cover Nightmare Moon's face, which is always silhouetted in the back of her hair. The blotch on her left breast is meant to reference her cutie mark. Probably a scar from her banishment.

anyway I was thinking about that because I was reading the first volume of wandance, it's a solid Music Manga I guess is a good term for it and the art for the dancing is incredibly dynamic even though I'm never very good at following movements in stills so I still don't actually know what they're meant to be doing most of the time lol (this is true for me of basically any manga where there's movement more important than walking around so I don't think it's the artist's fault at all.)
they actually talk a lot about the main character's stutter, even though it's not like a central focal point it's just a part of his experience, and people are occasionally shitty about it but it's not like he's the class target or anything like that, it's just teens can be pretty thoughtless sometimes. and I like that his friend that's generally the biggest jerk about things in general is also genuinely trying to be supportive of him, like worrying about whether he's having fun and then throwing his support behind him when he's able to see that he is.
I also just generally like Music Stories ofc as long as they're not Completely Obnoxious like that manic pixie headphones girl one I read a while ago. and since it's dance there's some overlap with the good beats of a Sports Story too.
pretty fun. I'd definitely be interested to read more. I wonder if we'll ever figure out what that girl's deal is tbh cuz she's clearly got Something going on but it's been focused on the main character so far. and thank god he does not exhibit a lot of the traits that tend to get on my nerves when we're tied into a male character's head. (for example no obvious male gaze fanservice panels, not constantly obsessing over the girls, etc. just genuinely interested in dance and in the things going on around him.)
