SO WHERE IS GIDEONS SOUL? a harebrained slipshod investigation

if kiriona is truly gideon all parts attached, what i seriously cant wrap my head around is how enough of gideon’s soul managed to peel itself away from harrow’s body enough to return as a complete revenant. palamedes calls it impossible and i dont think hes wrong. like her soul should not have been able to separate

obviously harrow managed to halt the lyctoral process, but i think a fraction of gideon’s soul was consumed before she managed to stop it (which is why she’s only half a lyctor, as opposed to not a lyctor at all). i like the idea of a gideon corruption arc as much as the next guy (its sexy) and i think its definitely part of what gave birth to kiriona, but i like to think theres more to it. but if theres still a part of gideon’s soul left in harrow’s body, its not anywhere we’ve been privy to thus far. so where is the rest of gideon’s soul?

i cant help but think of that one reddit ama where tamsyn mentions that theres a heist in atn… and think theyre gonna be heisting for gideon’s soul orpheus and eurydice style. the time ianthe asks harrow to “turn around” in htn is an obvious reference that i like to believe the narrative will make good on

also descent into hell is definitely a theme for alecto. i recall reading this in a reddit post, but does anyone remember the snippet tamsyn read at torcon

aside from the fact that its called “harrow in hell”, its also an adapted/referential quote to alighieri’s divine comedy (the opening line to dante’s inferno specifically)

i also want to posit something similar. lyctoral souls are intertwined indelibly (see john in gtn’s epilogue)

so it goes to reason that if a part of gideon’s soul is in harrow, then a part of harrow’s soul is in kiriona. more specifically, i think a part of harrow’s soul is in kiriona’s stoma, or something representational of it in the river somehow. in dante’s inferno, dante starts at the very bottom layer of hell and ascends upwards to heaven. similarly, we know that stoma can be found in the barathron, the very bottom layer of the river. the parallels are simply too delicious to ignore..
