Well, I finally did the League of Legends shipping post for Mel

I did a few days ago a post about considering to talk about League of Legend champions that could be shipped with Mel, considering that people had started to opened to the idea of multishipping. First, a little disclaimer...

League of legends have 169 champions. Of course I can't talk about everyone, and I had decided to set a few little rules of who I would comment. I tried to get a variety of shipping "flavors" people could be interested in, but here are some considerations I took for my 10 characters.

A) I'm not going to talk about characters who have an ongoing couple in the main timeline. By extension, I won't include characters who won't be interested in Mel, like K'sante or Varus, as they are gay.

B) I will consider only humanoid characters.

C) I'm not expert on LOL Lore, so if there is something wrong, just kindly comment and I will correct.

With that being said, if the characters already introduced in Arcane doesn't suit your tastes for our girl Mel, then you have here some new characters to consider.

Female characters.

Samira, a shuriman who embraced Noxus's mindset and became a bounty hunter, looking for challenge and adventure.She is kinda related/ sponsored by the Black Rose. May Mel become her new patron, instead?

You want a little enemies to lovers touch? We have Karma, the vessel of the spirit of Ionia, who offers her the wisdom of remembering her past lives, one of the beacons of hope agaisnt Noxus's invasion of her homeland.

Do you want a little bit of what Elizabeth and Will had in Pirates of Caribbean? There you have Miss fortune, the daughter of firearms crafter, who became a pirate to get vengance agaisnt the one who killed her family, the reaver king Gangplank.

What about a little of beauty and the beast trope? Kai'sa might look like a void monster, but she is dedicating her life to stop the plague of the Void to dominate Runaterra.

Of course I will have a 'I can fix her' trope. She was kinda the reason of the post, as I saw people loving the vestaya design of Lest. Ahri, who doesn't have memories of her childhood, had been taking the life essence of humans to feel their memories and feelings. Until she feel in love...and accidentally killed her lover with her powers. Could Mel be her second chance?

Male characters

Mel is a painter, and so is Hwei, who uses magic to make his art a weapon. He uses his powers to bring justice to the world, while looking for the serial murderer that massacred his temple...

A Shuriman vigilante, a member of the Sentinel of Light who battles agaisnt the evil in the shadow isles, looking for justice and hunting for the warlord that killed the woman who took him from the streets...

You want family drama, someone who can understand the sibiling bond Mel and Kino had? Aphelios and hist twin sister Alune were treausured by the Lunari, as they considered them fated children. As they were considerated heretics by the Solari, Aphelios dedicated his life to protect his people, while her sister got involved with the mystical arts ending trapped in the spirit world. But when the Solari army reached the Lunari, Alune reached to his brother with her magic, and together they protected their people. Now Aphelios is a weapon, with her sister as his guide.

But of course we have some more...complicated guys. If you thought Heimendirger was paranoid about magic, you have to know about the city of Demacia, where magic is forbidden and mages are prosecuted. For Demacia, Sylas is a terrorist , for the mages, a liberator...and he won't stop until they are free, no matter the cost...or the collateral damage. Think of Magneto, from the X-men.

And of course , I have another I can fix him trope. Are you into Dark Romance? Into vampire aesthetics? There you have Vladimir a blood mage, ancient enough to have seen the foundation of Noxus itself. A member of the Noxian socialite, involved with the Black Rose, and leader of his own cult. A lot of things going on, indeed.

The potential of the shipping is endless...

Dragon Age Specialization Variation Between Games

So I was noticing something, and so I decided to do a count on all Dragon Age specializations per game, and came up with some interesting stuff.

First off, the data:

That is the count of each named specialization per game, with me counting Origins and Awakening as the same game.

Notably, the no specialization has been in all 4 games. I initially thought Champion was in all 4, forgetting that it was Berserker that carried over to DAII. Warriors overall just have the least amount of variation, as Champion, Templar, and Reaver have all been repeated over and over again. I'm not sure if Reaver and Reaper will be different/same/similar, but they did name them differently.

Mages come in with the highest variation. In fact, in DAII, mage was the only class that got a new specialization (Force Mage). All 8 other specializations were holdovers from DAO, with Shadow being unique in that it came from Awakening instead of base Origins. Shadow is also unique in that it's the only specialization introduced in Awakening to carry over to a future game. It's also the only class to have 3 brand new specializations in any single game, and it has done so twice (Inquisition, Veilguard).

Mages also have the gameplay pattern that has repeated the most with the most variation. Arcane Warrior, Knight-Enchanter, and Spellblade all build on the gameplay pattern of "hit people while also casting spells", but do it in very different ways, and with very different aesthetics.

The only repeats for mages have been Blood Mage and Spirit Healer, both of which are in base Origins and DAII. Rift Mage and Force Mage are pretty similar, but are definitely not identical.

Rogues hit this middle path, with only Assassin and Duelist being repeated in 3/4 games, with Assassin missing DATV and Duelist missing DAI.

Rogues also got the most unique new specializations in DAI, with warriors getting only repeats, and mages getting 2 specializations similar to past specializations and 1 that's just DAO/DA2 spirit tree. The Tempest and Artificers are entirely new rogue gameplay patterns unique to DAI.

From a game perspective, what we have seen is: DAII had almost exclusively old specializations, DATV is having almost exclusively new specializations, and DAI plays a middle ground of being almost half and half.

So yeah, that's me just having some fun and looking at class specialization variance across 4 games in advance of said fourth game coming out NEXT WEEK.

Dungeon Meshi Liveblog: Falin's Back! Everything Will Surely Be Okay Forever, Now

the bath scene is so good and not just for shipping reasons, honestly. Falin going, "I hope you guys didn't go to too much trouble to save me? That magic circle looking kind of fucked up..." and Marcille going, "NO IT'S FINE, EVERYTHING IS FINE NOW AND WAS WORTH IT, WE'RE GOING TO LOOK BACK AND LAUGH."

And Falin going directly to offering mana, in a way that's clearly standard for either mages in general or at least Falin to Marcille, and Marcille very reasonably freaking out because by all logic there's no WAY Falin should have any energy to spare right now - she must just be being self-sacrificing! And even if she does have a smidge of energy, who knows how soon she'll need it again! She died in her last fight!

Srsly I could spend all day watching Marcille ancient magic!counterspelling these blood pterodactyls one by one. Her research is validated, and not just with an arguably self-serving resurrection! She has skills that are vital to saving all their lives! She's so fucking good that the Mage drops them all in a pit rather than continue to uselessly throw monsters at her!
