Meet the Saber-Skins
Helga is the companion of sorts to my Last Dragonborn, Elisere, and a few months ago I went a little ham developing her husband and kids. I've been meaning to draw them and introduce them for awhile now and thought this would be a fun way to do it!
I am incapable of just creating one single OC with no relatives. I always gotta give them a whole family. But this family is thematically important so I've put a lot of thought into them
#honestly this doubled as body hair practice lol because i always struggle with facial hair#tes#the elder scrolls#skyrim#tes ocs#skyrim ocs#nord#mine#my art#my ocs#i cant for the life of me draw elisere right. i have drawn her ina way i like once (and it was not this time)#but i get closer every time i do#oc: helga#oc: elisere#oc: helges family#im just gonna give them that tag because i dont think im going to be posting about them often enough anyway to justify them all getting#their own tags#i should do this same thing with el's real family at some point too

In Dragon Age Inquisition do you like the winter palace uniforms? Do you like everyone matching? What do you think the inquisitor and companions should wear? Please feel free to draw or add pictures of the outfits if you want.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.
I hate the uniforms! Every companion should have been styled differently, and buckle up because under the break are my OPINIONS. All images came from Pinterest, I am trying my best not to use art.
Cassandra: There is no statement quite like a warrior in full armor, and Cassandra Allegra Portia Calogera Filomena Pentaghast was born to make that statement. Add a cape with the Inquisitions heraldry and you will leave no one in doubt that the divines right hand is still strong.
Varric: Kirkwall’s most famous author has a brand— don’t taint it! Dark leathers and earthy tones speak of the adventures of Lowtown with the champion, off set by metallic accessories to remind all that the Merchants Guild’s deshyr is more than he seems.
Blackwall: If he is still known as a warden then you bring him in the full brilliance of his rank, in the blue and silverite of Thedas’s last and truest heroes.
If his secret is out best not to bring him to Orlais.
Solas: The Inquisition’s resident rift mage should not be relegated to a terrible hat and no introduction. Let the egg shine for once in the sort of graceful robes that put all the elegance of that long frame to use. We never see Solas fancied up, and for once we deserve too— while maintaining the more neutral tones he seems to prefer.
Vivienne: Let the woman shine. Morrigsn is almost swallowed up in her velvet monstrosity, heavy handed ina dramatic sweep of stuffy brocade. But Madame de Fer has come for war, and her dress is equal elegance and armor.
Sera: With the right mix of humor and haute, even Skyhold’s Red Jenny can turn heads in Orlais. If nothing else she will be a distraction.
Dorian: You know he wept over the terrible military coat. Dress the Tevinter mage in the shadows and secrets of his homeland!
The Iron Bull: Dress him down. Go the full rope work, the full paint . Play up the quantity element, the edge of fear, the strength of muscle and mind. Drive Orlais wild, and he will learn any number of things.
Cole: Gove him a fun hat and cape. No one will remember him anyway, might as well dress him up a bit.

Okay, so here is today’s P3 Morgen interview. Or at least most of it...
(I’m sorry, I love my art-y little son very much a lot - but at one part he reads one of his own poems and you’ll have to find a real norwegian for that one. I can do regular norwegian, but I draw the line at pretentious norwegian, please and thank you...)
(Also, link to P3 Morgen: x)
P3 morgen 201120
Interviewer 1: What a friday it is. My soul is thriving by what I’m seeing in front of me - and what you get in your radio at six minutes past eight - and that is Ina Svenningdal and Tarjei Sandvik Moe here with us at P3 Morgen in a small Skam reunion. Good morning and welcome, Tarjei.
Tarjei: Good morning and thank you.
I1: We, I mean, Ina you’re here because you were the ugly bear [don’t ask - apparently some kind of guessing game where Ina was wearing a bear suit and the listeners had to guess who it was?]
Interviewer 2: Stop calling her that.
Ina: Oh, but I’m kinda liking it, it’s pretty funny.
I1: Tarjei, you were supposed to come here today anyway, but we had no idea that Ina was going to be here, but now you’re here, so… what’s it like with you two, do you see each other often?
T: Yeah, I think so. Honestly.
I: Yeah. Well, it’s been a while now.
T: Are we going to sit here and lie on radio, going naeeeeeh.
I: No, but it is a bit on and off, I think?
T: Yeah.
I: Sometimes you coincidently run into each other a lot and then nothing for a year.
I2: But I guess it’s difficult now, too.
I: Yeah.
T: Yeah, but I thought about it recently, I thought about it because, “Oh, I’m going to go watch Ina act and maybe grab a beer or something”, but then you just...
I: Yeah. But nooo.
I1: Of course. But can I ask, do you have… this is typical, when we get to talk to you Skam people we completely fall back into the Skam bubble, but you have of course gone on with your lives and are doing new things, and we are going to talk about that, but is there a Skam group chat where you send memes or something to each other?
I: Yeah?
T: Yeah.
I1: There is?!
I2: No there isn’t.
I: There is!
I2: It was too long a pause there.
I: No, but I hesitated because I got like, “should I say that there is one or should I say that there isn’t one?” But there is…
T: There is still a group chat. We can’t say that it’s terribly active, though, but…
I: No, it isn’t.
T: But it does flourish sometimes. Like, like...
I1: Who’s the most active?
T: Well, maybe Julie Andem.
I1: No…
[I2, I and T all doing terrible impressions of Julie, going “What’s happening”]
I1: But… does it have a name? Because I feel like it says a lot about people, the name of their group chats.
I: Yeah, but… well, I’m so rarely on that chat that I can’t remember what it’s called.
T: No, I can’t remember either.
I1: We’ll just continue… Tarjei, you’ve been in a Christmas movie.
T: Yeah!
I1: That’s really great, I love Christmas movies.
T: Yeah?
I1: What movie is it?
T: It’s a film called “Gledelig jul”, which is shown at cinemas around Norway. But not in Oslo.
I1: No. Because you can’t go to cinemas here.
T: Because it’s not allowed. So… but, just watch it if you’re outside of Oslo or maybe when Oslo opens up.
I2: What’s the film about?
T: “Gledelig jul” is about Annemor, played by Anne Marit Jacobsen, who always, together with her husband, played by Otto Jespersen, has celebrated Christmas abroad but this year decides that, “fuck it, this year we have to meet up with the family for the first time in ten years”. And everyone thinks she’s got cancer, so that’s why they come, but then she doesn’t have cancer, so they’re like “why are we here?” and then the family bonds get unraveled and secrets are revealed, and… comedy happens.
I2: So she doesn’t have cancer.
T: No.
I2: Okay, great, then it’s comedy.
I1: So, who is it you play in this mess?
T: I play Anne Marit’s grandson, so I’m there as like a bit of a weird character.
I1: Okay.
I2: What do you mean by a weird character? You’re looking at the floor in a very suspicious way now.
T: No, but he’s, like, I never really managed to fully decide why, but he is a bit weird. And he’s really in love with a girl and he’s trying to learn hebrew through one of those kinds of language courses to be able to talk to her in hebrew.
I2: It sounds almost like you haven’t listened to what the director or anyone has told you, you’ve just decided that, my character does these weird things, we have to continue, he does these weird things like learning hebrew and stuff.
T: Yeah, it’s a very difficult job.
I1: But how was it filming a Christmas movie, are you a Christmas movie buff?
T: Yeah, I like “Home Alone” at least?
I1: Okay, that’s… do you have any more recent favourites? Or you’ve stuck to the classics?
T: “Home Alone 2”?
I1: “Home Alone 2”.
I: But not 3?
T: Nah, it’s not the same actors. It has to be Macaulay. [in english:] They don’t do it without Macaulay. [If I never hear Tarjei pronounce Macaulay ever again it’ll be too soon…]
I1: No, I agree, I love the “Home Alone” movies and I’m happy that there is a new Christmas movie that you’re acting in and I’m looking forward to when the cinemas reopen so we in Oslo can go see it. And remember, you who live outside of Oslo can still go to the cinema. Ina, you’re acting in front of empty auditoriums [during Ina’s interview they talked about her two plays still being acted out on stage during the lockdown just to keep up the flow and to be prepared for when the lockdown is lifted], Tarjei, you were supposed to premiere a play today…
T: Yeah.
I1: We’ll talk more about this…
T [sounding absolutely crestfallen]: I hadn’t realised that it was today?
I1: It’s 20 November today.
T: Fuck, I had…
I2: I just hope no one hears that.
T: It’s allowed on P3? To swear?
I2: Well, we get scolded by our bosses, but you know what? We’ll allow you to swear once, Tarjei.
T: Fucking hell.
I2: That was two. That was two.
I1: We’ll talk more about 20 November, the play that is, not just today’s date, after we’ve listened to some music here at P3. And to you, Ina Svenningdal, we’ll say thank you for coming and making our friday so much better. So thanks for your visit…
I: Thank you for having me….
I1: ...and this is “Mad At Disney”.
*****
I1: Rat City and Isak Heim with Kind Of Love [No, you didn’t miss anything, there were two songs with nothing said in between] sixteen minutes past eight this friday. We are visited by you, Tarjei Sandvik Moe…
T: Hello, hello.
I1: It’s very nice to have you here…
T: It’s very nice to be…
I1: How are… What kind of friday person are you? Are you one of those who gets extra excited by waking up on a friday?
T: I love fridays. Definitely.
I1: Okay, do you have a friday routine?
T: Umm… [laughs]
I1: Tacos or something?
T: No, not like tacos, nothing like that. All those routines are just [he makes a retching sound] so in case I ever had any then I’ve forgotten about them. No routines.
I2: I was wondering, like, do you live in a flat share, or?
T: No.
I2: Home?
T: No, I live in a flat with my girlfriend.
I2: Oh yeah, so you haven’t managed to make any taco routines with your wife? [wow, we went from girlfriend to wife really fast there…]
T: No, but we do eat together?
I1: I get really fascinated by people who have to decide on friday dinner like it can be anything, but that has nothing to do with you, Tarjei, it’s just me and my taco brain.
T: You’re very strict about that, you’re eating tacos every friday, or?
I1: Do I ever. And get all stressed out on saturdays.
I2: And talks a lot about it too.
T: Yeah. And you, Martin?
I2: I eat tacos on sundays.
T: Sundays? Yeah? And do you have any routines for fridays?
I2: No, actually no. No, I’m a bit on the no routines team there, I just take it as it comes.
I1: So what is it today?
I2: I’m going to… it’s not... let’s not talk about me!
I1: You haven’t planned dinner? That’s fine.
T: Disappointing, Martin. Disappointing.
I2: Yeah, it’s bad.
I1: But, Tarjei, how’s this year, 2020, been for you?
T: Strange. Um, like it’s probably been for everyone. But there’s something about… how to put it… being on the brink of film- and theatre releases and it’s not allowed. Then I could just as well be a pimp or anything else illegal, it’s just weird when what you’re doing is… has become illegal.
I1: Yeah, but…
T: I feel like a criminal.
I1: So in case you’d picked another criminal job, you’ve probably seen a lot of action movies and such things, what would you have been?
T: [in english] I would do a heist. A robbery.
I1: Yeah…
I2: Do you want to be a criminal? Do heists?
T: Yeah, yeah, yeah. A couple of years ago... [no, don’t stop there, Tarjei. Tell me more.]
I1: Is there something… because you haven’t done a real action movie yet, have you?
T: No… I’d say that in “Skitten Snø” there were some stunts and fight scenes and such when I played a security guard but not a “pure action movie”, I haven’t done that yet. That’s still lacking.
I2: What’s your dream movie to act in?
T: Umm… dream…
I2: Genre.
T: Yeah, genre. That’s... I don’t… I just thought… on an airplane, maybe? No, but it’s… I want to play a lawyer.
I1: Yeah, why? Is it based on a series you’ve seen?
T: I’m really fascinated by what happens in a courtroom, and also, my sister is a lawyer and she has a lot of exciting stories from her studies and what she’s going to work with and stuff and her…
I2: I think it would fit you to play a shady lawyer.
T: Yeah, right? So that would be absolutely amazing, to play a lawyer.
I1: Is it because you can see so clearly how you walk around the courtroom in a suit and just holding a long monologue and hitting the table, giving all the reasons for why your client is innocent.
T: Yeah, maybe a bit. Yeah, I watched the OJ Simpson series, fuck, that would be really cool to play. So, something like that. Maybe there’ll be a film in twenty years on the Laila Bertheussen lawsuit and then I can play prosecutor Frederik Ranke.
I2: So you want to play something that somber?
T: Somber?
I2: You want to do those kind of serious things?
T: Yeah, yeah, [in english] fuck yeah. Is it that.. It is serious…
I2 [giggling]: Yeah, it’s serious. And like the OJ Simpson series, “yay, cool”, and it’s about some of the darkest things that has happened. You have a real darkness inside of you.
T: Yeah, well, I do a lot of dark stuff. That’s just how it is. To be an actor is a bit like throwing up, you have to get the garbage out.
I2: Oooookay…
I1: Ooooookay… this is exciting, I’m looking forward to hearing how you “got the garbage out” in the way you’ve prepared the play that was supposed to premiere today. It’s called 20 November and we’ll talk more about it after Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper with “Holy”.
*****
I1: It’s so beautiful, it’s Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper’s “Holy” in P3 Morgen, it’s twenty past nine, and this friday we’re visited by you, Tarjei Sandvik Moe, who today, 20 November, were supposed to premiere a play with the same name as the date, 20 November. That won’t happen, unfortunately, because of these times we live in, but we can talk about the play anyway, so…
T: It can suddenly be that it’s allowed, so then you’ll just have to throw yourself into…
I2: One day we’ll get to see the play.
T: Yeah.
I1: What is 20 November?
T: 20 November is a monologue written by the swedish playwright Lars Norén and is about a school shooter who was a real school shooter in Germany in 2006 and is based on the diary, notes, manifesto and photos he’s posted online, so I’m playing a real guy who actually died on that day, 20 November 2006, but no one else died, so in a way it’s the story about Sebastian Bosse.
I2: He was the school shooter?
T: He was the school shooter. So I am he, who’s explaining to the audience why I’m going to do what I’m going to do on 20 November, and… [in english] That shit is going to happen.
I1: It might be one of the darkest things you’ve done, or?
T: Yeah, I have acted out rape scenes and stuff, but school shootings are… it’s extreme.
I1: Yeah. And you shouldn’t compare dark things because that’s…
T: No, that comparison was completely…
I2: But I was wondering, when you act in such a dark play, or with such dark themes, isn’t it a bit strange… or, because you’re really looking forward to going out there and performing, isn’t that a strange feeling?
T: Yeah, it’s… it’s a mixture there, the performance is a visual… we could call it a feast, but it isn’t… I think it will be a very good performance that’s interesting in many ways. Art isn’t necessarily good because it’s important, but it gets important by being good, so I think a performance can be good in itself and exciting to act and exciting to watch. So I’m really looking forward to do it, and it’s hard to having started rehearsals in february and still not being allowed to perform it.
I2: So you’re ready.
T: It’s been postponed two times, so I’ve had to go bald twice in a year to do it…
I2: You’ve shaved your head for that part?
T: Yeah, that’s the thing, he shaved his head because he was doing it like a kind of military thing, but, so I do a lot for this, but…
I2: Couldn’t they have said that it was postponed before you shaved your head?
T: Yeah, yes…
I1: I’m going to disagree a bit because I think a shaved head suits you very well, Tarjei.
T; Thank you very much.
I1: But… how is it, now that it got postponed again, how does that feel when you’ve worked that hard on something?
T: When life goes against you, you just have to laugh at it.
I1: You have to do that. And did you manage to laugh at it?
T: Yeah, I did laugh. Because we were closing in on the actual premiere and I went into the lounge and sat by myself and checked the mobile and there it said that Raymond Johansen had decided that we were to close the theatre. And I just laughed.
I1: Yeah, you can’t really do anything else. You either laugh or cry.
T: I saw myself from the outside, the tragic character of Tarjei who keeps shaving his head. It’s a bit like the greek story about Sisyphos or whatever his name is, who pushed that stone up and up to no avail because when he reached the top the stone just rolled down again.
I2: Your stone is the razor?
T: Yeah, that’s… that’s… I’m the modern version of Sisyphos.
I1: But when things close down you can start new hobbies, I feel like 2020 has been a good year for that. You have got a new hobby and we’ll talk some more about that on NRK P3 very soon, but right now we’ll listen to some music. Ava Max, two minutes before half nine, “Who’s Laughing Now”, guess it’s you, Tarjei.
*****
I1: Thank heavens for Sigrid [yeah, another one with multiple songs with a newscast in between] and for the kind of music that we just heard here on NRK, “Strangers” in your radio, twenty two minutes to nine here on P3 Morgen, which today is visited by you, Tarjei Sandvik Moe.
T: Yeah.
I1: And you were supposed to premiere…
I2 [giggling]: It was just such a good “Yeah”.
T: Yeah, it was just… continue with the show and I’ll think about it.
I1: Today you were supposed to premiere the play 20 November. It didn’t happen, like so much else this year, 2020, but when things halt for a bit you can do things you’ve never done before, try a new hobby. And that’s what you’ve done.
T: Yeah. That messed things up a bit because P3 was supposed to call me yesterday and I didn’t answer and then I had to call back half an hour later and apologise, “I’m sorry, the phone was in flight mode, I was writing a poem”, and that was an excuse that P3 had never heard before. They’ve had a lot of people saying that they’ve overslept, but never that they were writing poetry.
I2: Yeah, because that’s your new hobby, writing poetry.
T: Yeah.
I2: And I love that you used that as an excuse to not answering the phone. Because it’s something a bit classy about, “I was a bit preoccupied, I was writing a poem”.
I1: But, Tarjei, when you’re writing poetry and the phone rings and you don’t hear it, is it like you’re sitting at a desk by the window with a pen, like a quill that you dip in ink and a paper and stare into the air, or are we talking notes on the mobile.
T: I’m doing it on the mac.
I1: You’re doing it on the mac.
T: I have this very clever program called “word”.
Both inteviewers: Aaaah.
T: A lot of nice fonts. And… I turn the mobile off or set it in flight mode and put it somewhere else, which is why no one can get a hold of me because that’s often a part of the art of writing. I’ve, like, written other things like scripts and such, but I’ve never done any poetry. Nor read a lot of poetry either for that matter. But a couple of weeks ago I watched “Hannah and Her Sisters” where there was a poem by e e cummings, which I just loved and I immersed myself in him and then I thought, “fuck it, I have to try and write something too”, so this is a hobby that’s been going on for less than a week, hm.
I2: You said there were a lot of nice fonts in word, which font do you use when you write poems?
T: Oh, that… what’s its name, caruso or something like that?
I2: So you’re actually using a pretty font when you’re writing poetry?
T: Yeah, because I got a bit provoked when I looked at my poem in Times New Roman.
I1: And now my thoughts go to submitting works in secondary school, not to the kind of creative writing that you’ve chosen to do yourself. But I’m happy to have found out that you can’t answer your phone because you’re writing poetry because today we’ll get a poem by you. [The interviewer stumbles on the norwegian word for poem - “dikt” - and says “drikt” instead. Which is close enough to “dritt”, which I guess every Skam lover by now knows basically means “shit”. Believe me, you need this knowledge from here on.]
T: Because I’m writing shit?
I2: Yeah, I heard that too.
T: Well, it is shit too. Shit poems.
I1: No, no, no.
I2: Is it possible to get to hear a poem here and now?
T: Yeah, it’s from my poetry collection, Shit Poems.
I1: No, Tarjei, it was just a slip of the tongue.
T: Yeah, but this… it’s just amateur poetry.
I1: Have you named it?
T: The poem?
I1: Yeah.
T: Destination.
I1: Oh.
T: [Reads his poem - and I’m sorry but you need a real norwegian for this one because he’s being annoying and pretentious and uses words with double meanings. So for any poetry loving norwegian out there, just… please translate it and put me out of my misery…]
I1: Oh my. Oh, shit.
I2 [applauding]: Wow.
I1: Oh my god. And you began just a week ago, it was really beautiful.
T [awkwardly]: Thank you.
I1: Tarjei, you’re so multi talented.
T: Eeey. Shit. Shit.
I1: I just get so…
I2: I really liked the part with [yeah, so… something about crooked teeth - ask a norwegian, I don’t know…], was that it?
T: Yeah.
I2: Amazing.
T: Can we… should we just let it be and let us interpret it for ourselves or do you want to say anything else about it?
T: Interpret it yourself, art isn’t supposed to be explained. If I was a theatre director - which I’m never going to be - I would refuse programmes. People would just sit down in a dark auditorium, not knowing what they were about to see, and then walk away without anyone analysing it afterwards.
I1: Oh, rats, then we’ll just let you walk away without analysing this poem too much. Tarjei Sandvik Moe, thank you very much for coming…
I2 [yelling]: You have to explain what it’s about!!
T [yelling back]: NO!!
I2 [still yelling]: I can’t live like this!!
Music starts.

DO WE WANT 2,200 WORDS ON REI’S PERSONAL GROWTH IN EPISODE 23 GOD I HOPE SO
So one of the things that comes up over the course of these four episodes is Rei and her personal growth as manifested through her Senshi power. This also comes up in earlier episodes, so I’ll be drawing from them a little bit, too. (Also Minako being a manipulative troll)
Rei is a pretty standoffish and grumpy member of the Senshi, and I really love that PGSM gives her the space to be that. She’s been working on a lot of this youma stuff alone, because that’s how Rei is used to doing things: Alone. She’s spent most of her life alone, and life has taught her that to rely on anyone is a mistake. It takes time to unlearn that, and I really appreciate that PGSM allows her the time for that.
Usagi powered up in the last episode by learning the shocking truth that she can be really fucking selfish and self-centered, and I love that it works as an aspect of her power but not Ami’s evil, because apologizing is one thing, but that doens’t make everything right, right away. Why should it? And so we have the genius of “Fuck your friendship mittens” even though USagi’s power-up magically heals the mittens as well just to remind us all that we are in a Sailor Moon joint ANYWAY, this is about Rei, and how Rei needs to grow.
Rei’s problems aren’t are the same as Usagi’s and it’s a mark of the quality of PGSM that it allows each of the girls to go through their own growth in order to power-up. It’s not just a leveling up, it's a better understanding of how to be a team member, the ways in which each of them can greater contribute to the whole. It’s an important part of teamwork that I think gets glossed over oftentimes, that to really be in harmony with each other we have to change the ways we’ve done things. If you do this portrayed in media, it’s generally only in a romantic setting. The idea of a group of magical girls having to grow and change to fit each other isn’t that common.
Admittedly the title of this episode is a little fucking crackers, even more so when you consider that it is in fact literally what happens here: Rei sings to get her power-up. That’s nuts. That’s wild. Why am I holding this up as a paragon of character development? Because, as with all crackers things that actually work, it’s not about Rei singing at all. It’s about her learning important object lessons that the leader of the senshi has to convey through on the ground knowledge, because Rei won’t fucking listen to a thing she says.
(It’s actually hilarious how little the senshi listen to her given that they think she’s the actual fucking princess. Rei wouldn’t go after the youma, Usagi wouldn’t fight Ami, like I need PGSM background that’s just Mina swearing about how SHE IS LITERALLY THEIR SUPERIOR WHY DID I EVEN BOTHER WITH THE TOY R US CROWN IF THIS IS WHAT I’M GETTING)
And admittedly, this first lesson I’m about to point out is the less important one, but it is the more hilarious one: Mina told Rei to leave her the fuck alone and she won’t. The fun way of thinking about this is that Mina knows Rei has feelings for her even if Rei doesn’t quite know that yet because our darling and beloved Rei hino is a little bit of a repressed sunflower. Mina knew that Rei would, in no way, listen to Mina or keep her promise to leave Mina alone and stop following her. Mina knows a dumb lesbian when she sees one, and she can see the writing on the wall, but if at least for this moment, she can teach her: Fucking listen to me.
Now the less fun way (for most of us, but not for my evil ass) is to remember that MINA IS GOING TO DIE. She knows this. No one else knows this. Mina has a vested interest in getting everyone’s shit together before she fucking dies, and has no interest in anyone’s pity. For all she knew Rei was never going to listen to her, no way no how, there has to be a small part of her that hoped Rei would. Because Rei getting closer to her is a mistake, no matter how much Rei wants it. Mina is distant for a reason. There’s no benefit in letting anyone get close to her when she knows that her Narratively Convenient Illness is going to claim her sooner rather than later, and I admit that I LOVE THIS SHIT. People covering up their illnesses to try to spare those around them is a trope I fucking feast upon like a fat Roman emperor with a grape. However annoyed I get with the conclusion to this whole fiasco, AND I DO, I love that I got a little bit of this delicious angst.
That isn’t to say that MIna really spends a lot of time beating around the motherfucking bush
The absolute shade that she has going on here, the way she says “that sure surprised me” and Rei of course takes it personally from Mina in a way that I’m not sure I think she would from anyone else, because she respects Mina in a way she doesn’t anyone els eon beyond her being “the princess” A lot of people wonder where I get this idea about Mina being the leader and specifically Rei being the second in command, and it’s pretty much here in PGSM that all of that arises from, although given my general feelings on Rei I admit it may have come of its own accord eventually.
Rei takes that role as leader so seriously, and she feels in her heart that’s why she’s a fuckup, because fucking USAGI powered up before her, before any of them, and how is she meant to be leader, when she’s failing so hard? Her immediate lead in for Rei is that Mina will think her shameful, that she should say Rei is shameful, and you know what? Mina fucking does it, ebcause she does not have time for this shit and she is not here pat heads and make everyone feel better. She’s working on a tight timeline, and I LOVE that she doesn’t hesitate before saying “Yes, I was going to say that you’re shameful, actually.” And then she points tot he fact that awakening is a problem of the heart (which is what we’re going to get into with what she needs to learn) and without telling her what she’s lacking as leader, simply tells her that, she is lacking.
Mina’s not going to leave her to twist in the wind here, even if it feels like it--her grand plan for Rei Hino with all of this is coming down the hallway just shortly--but I like that she doesn’t spoonfeed the answer of “You can’t do all this shit alone (she said, doing everything alone, Mina you hypocrite) and you have to learn to ask for help. That’s how you become leader” because Rei wouldn’t learn anything from that. Rei reacts to asking for help like a cat to a fucking spray bottle. She wants nothing to do with it, and while, yes, this is a bit of goofy way to cast the idea she can trust her team and ask them for help, I think it still manages to be effective.
AND THERE IT IS, HER MASTER PLAN. This is particularly hilarious given the fact that we know Rei fucking hates karaoke, and so maybe that particular aspect of it isn’t exactly for Rei’s edification so much as MIna’s amusement, but there we are.
AHAHHAHAAH oh Mina how I fucking adore you.
Anyway, Rei goes to go sulk in the batcave over Mina’s challenge, is beleagured and thrown to the ground in a definitely unnecessary and highly dramatic sense, and then, the worst thing that could ever happen, happens. SHE IS FORCED TO ASK FOR HELP.
I want to give full credit to the actress who plays Rei here, because she makes the absolute awkwardness of this, the way this is like pulling teeth for Rei, so clear. This is the Fareeha Amari experience of asking for help. Usagi is the only person she knows that can help her with this, because I feel like mad karaoke skills don’t necessarily get a lot of play over at the shrine, and you can tell this is just killing her. She never expected to have to ask this kind of help from anyone, let alone Usagi, who is immediately thrilled and runs to her aid. (It must also be noted that Rei stays in this exact dramatic position on the floor until Usagi gets there, Rei, my god, please, you lesbian bowl of porridge, Mina is not wrong and you desperately need to pull it together)
Even when Usagi gets there, her body language is so stilted and uncomfortable, this is so foreign and almost frightening to her, which was pretty much exactly Mina’s point: It’s easy for Rei to fight, easy for her to curse, but it isn’t easy for her to put herself in a place of vulnerability, in a place where someone can say no or otherwise reject her, leave her out on her own, which we all know Usaig as no intention of doing, which was also, I think, why Mina chose this exact mode of torment. She’s setting Rei up for success.
Rei expects so much of herself at all times, and is so used to being alone in the world, and its really very striking the way she reacts to this entire thing. Rei, you’re singing for children not letting someone die on the battlefield.
But of course we get around to the day, and Usagi gives her what I think Mina always knew she would, the reassurance that not only would Usaig help her, but that Usagi genuinely wanted to and enjoyed helping her, and also that it brought them together as a team. Usagi knows, really for the first time with Rei, that she’s trusted, that they are doing this together, and it reaches Rei, too, in such a way that we actually see her tear up:
I’ve thought about this a lot over the times I’ve seen this episode, but I think what I finally land on for Rei and her tears is that sense that she’s been holding back so much aand being so strong for so much of her life, and maybe, just maybe, she doesn’t actually have to be literally all of the time. Maybe she’s allowed to get help, and to face things with people who care about her, and this is something she’s been able to do on the battlefield, but really not translate into her real life, and here Usagi and Mina have really woked ina tandem that Usagi didn’t even know was happening to show Rei that her life is not just her own, and that she matters and that when you have a real team, help is expected.
And then rei sings a deeply overserious song for a group of seven year olds but I will get into that in detail next post.
ANd then that trust is immediately reciprocated by Usagi, who goes to fight the youma on her own and simply mouths to Rei that she will go on ahead and Rei can come afterwards. It isn’t as if Rei has ever particularly been unrelaiable in a fight, but I think given the exchange they just had, there’s definitely a sense of it having greater weight here, where Usagi would be delighted and surprised when Sailor Mars shows up. She knows she can trust her, and Rei knows that she is trusted, and that they are part of a far greater web than she ever assumed was possible in her life.
And with that, in the battle:
The deal with PGSM is that there are largely your finest cheapest MS paint special effects, and none of us really care because the senshi are people. BUt even with the finest cheapest effects the emotional impact of this moment really hits. It’s done in slow motion, and you can really see on her face the realization that her power has grown within her, that she has known grown as a person and as a soldier, and there’s this look of competence and of self-assurance that runs through her every movement. It’s just something that was shot and done in a really compelling way, and given that this whole episode has really been devoted to Rei’s growth (with a mamoru B-plot, to extra assure we don’t care about anything else) I’m glad they gave it the emotional gravitas it deserved.
MIna, as ever, gives her effusive praise, immmediately after saying “But there’s a lot more you have to do.” this inclusion is only for me to profess my love for her and that’s all I’m sorry. And also for Rei to finally get what I’ve taken over 2,000 words to say.
And then the most perfect ending to an episode ever, Rei re-asserting that she is still the same grumpy gus, and just because she trusts Usagi doesn’t mean she’s going to put up with the horseshit Usagi loves. THERE IS TRUST BUT NEVER KARAOKE >:(

The Coming Storm
A soft shuffling, surrounded by the songs of crickets and fauna filled the empty air around the homestead; Andel’s hooves were muffled by the swishing red grass, which shifted to soft clicks as he stepped up onto an outcropping of rocks. Something was calling to him. There was always a contrast of oranges and reds against a dark, violet skyline, but today... today the contrast was unnatural, even for the magic-saturated landscape.
In the distance, a vortex of red and near-blackish purple clouds swirled and roiled, a faint rumbling of thunder that only teased at fruition. Flashes of brighter red pulsed in the epicenter like a heartbeat... As the half-elf inched closer to the edge of the rocky outcropping, one hand raised to block some of the winds that had begun to whip around him, pushing him this way and that with the stronger gusts; he squinted against the flittering debris, was that...? A sudden crackle of lightning blinded him for mere moments, causing him to shield his eyes even if it meant he wouldn’t see the oncoming shadows that followed. When he next opened his eyes, the land around him, his home, was ablaze.
Glowing eyes blinked owlishly as he regained his bearings, his chest tight as he realized the flames were roaring, hungrily devouring the farmlands and buildings, feverishly rushing towards his home. No no no no!!
His legs ached and strained from the desperate attempts to gain any bearings in this fire-engulfed land, but he didn’t care, he couldn’t... “Astraea!” he called out as he clumsily landed at the front door of the house, the flames already clamoring up the rafters of the porch, racing towards the door. Using his shoulder, he rammed against the solid door, then again once it gave only slightly, and again... On the fourth shove, the half elf toppled into the house, greeted by a cacophony of screeches and cries,
“Children! Where are you? Yerin? A’lora?” he called out again, his words broken up with coughs as he navigated through the thick smoke. “An’da, we’re here!” a small voice called in turn, his fears already faintly soothed.
As he trudged through the house, he gathered any cloth he could grasp, using it to cover his mouth and clear the air he breathed before he heard the shrill cries of the youngest, Inea. This time using his horns, Andel powered through the door and found his family gathered around Astraea, all doing their best to stay calm just long enough to escape if they could- Thick, thorny tendrils burst through the walls and the ceiling, earning more startled cries from the younglings, “Andel what is that?!” the Astromancer’s voice was a hiss as she manifested a ball of cosmic energy in her palm, but before he could even begin to comprehend a guess of an answer, another thorned limb crashed through the house, its careless thrashing piercing through his middle and stealing the air from his lungs- --- Andel shot upright, gulping down air into his lungs as his eyes frantically darted about the darkened room. He... was it a dream? His hand instinctively touched his stomach, there was no wound... not even a scratch; his jaw clenched and his mouth pressed to a firm line. He’d never had a nightmare so severe... not for as long as he could remember, anyway. “Andel...?” Astraea’s soft tone muttered, drawing his attention over and seeing her rubbing her eyes. The druid sighed, leaning over and pressing his forehead to hers, closing his eyes, “Bad dream.” “I’d say, you’re trembling...” a pause, then feeling one hand reach up and rest on his cheek, “How bad?” He hesitated.
“You can tell me when you’re calm, love-”
An infant cry shattered the quiet of the house, making both wince before Andel hurriedly slipped out of bed and out of the room to the nursery. Brushing past the silken curtains in the door, his footsteps slowed, approaching one of the carved bassinets and carefully scooping up the baby inside, feeling her tiny hands grasp the fur of his shoulder as they wailed, “Este, little one, este, papa’s here...” he softly cooed, cradling them close to his chest and hoping his breathing would help the infant... “Papa...?” another voice piped up from the doorway, seeing that it was the eldest, Shalae; brows crinkled and her tiny hands balled into fists, gripping the plush Sabercat she carried. Andel frowned and turned to face her, “Did something scare you?” he murmured, still gently swaying Inea back and forth as the cries softened into whimpering hiccups; Shalae nodded, ears drooped, “It was a bad, bad dream, papa...” she squeaked, “We were all together... but then there was fire-” Fire...? “A-and... we couldn’t find you... mama didn’t k-know where you were but then... you were there a-and a monster!” she trailed off into sobs, glowing golden eyes welling with tears as she shuffled across the nursery towards Andel. Shifting Inea to one arm while the other scooped up the eldest, feeling her release one hand from her plush to hug his neck, “I-I was scared you were gone, papa...” she whispered, Andel doing his best to return the embrace, “I had a bad dream too, sprout, a lot like yours...” he paused, trying to not distract himself with the unnerving realization that he wasn’t the only one having the same nightmare, “But we’re okay... we’re going to be okay.” “...Promise?” she sniffled, “Yeah, I promise...” he smiled faintly, now gently swaying back and forth with both the eldest and youngest on each arm; his attention was drawn to the doorway where Astraea stood, holding a blanket over her shoulders to keep warm. He smiled at her, but the Astromancer could see through the facade of calmness, walking over and gently coaxing Inea to let go of the druids shoulder, cradling them with ease. Her celestial gaze fixated on her mate, “I’ll handle the little one, go ahead and get the sprout tucked in again.” With a nod, he leaned over to softly peck Astraea’s cheek as he walked past, making his way to the older ones’ room. Judging from the others being fast asleep, they had been lucky to avoid the nightmare... even if that meant he had more questions than before. As he stepped softly across the bedroom floor to Shalae’s bed, he spotted one of the manasaber kittens prowling around the room, quietly coaxing the cat over and seeing them expertly traverse from bedframe to bedframe. Laying the eldest down, he made sure she was comfortably covered and surrounded by her favorite blankets, picking up the kitten he’d called over and setting them beside her, “It’s not much,” he said softly, “but little Shimmerpaw here should help fight off those bad dreams from here on out, he seems pretty good at it.” “Are you sure?” her voice was sheepish, but thankfully tired this time around. Andel smiled this time,
“Of course, even if you don’t see him there, he’ll be around, fighting off any nightmare creatures that try to ruin your dreams.” Though she still didn’t look entirely convinced, she nodded and reached over to pat the kittens head, “Okay An’da...” she muttered. He sighed, leaning down to place a gentle kiss atop her head, “Better dreams, little sprout.” As he carefully stepped out of the room, he found Astraea in the hall, Inae now sleeping peacefully in her arms, “Well?” “I did what I could, Shimmerpaw was in there so I’m hoping he might help...” he shrugged, crossing his arms and shifting his weight from hoof to hoof, “She had the same dream as me.” “She... how?” her brows furrowed, looking up to him for any kind of answer, “I... I don’t know. I have a theory, but I really don’t want to be right about it...” “Andel...” she placed a hand on his crossed arms, “Please, you can tell me no matter how ridiculous something may sound...”
Andel averted his gaze, fixating on the wall hanging down the hallway,
“I’ve been hearing talk when I go into town, lately, after what happened at Orgrimmar’s gate. There’s something coming...” he paused, reaching up and frustratingly rubbing his face, “An old god that attacks the mind, planting doubts and nightmares... In my dream there was a storm, something was in the storm but I couldn’t see what. Next thing I knew, our home was on fire and... I died. We were attacked by this old god and I wasn’t...” He stopped, chewing on his lip as he replayed the dream- what he could remember by now- and felt that familiar gripping sensation in his chest. Andel hesitantly met Astraea’s eyes again,
“I feel like I can’t escape this storm, no matter how much I’d like to... I just... don’t know where to start. Or how.” Silence settled between them, both uncertain of what to do, even if the safety of the life they’d built was in jeopardy try as they might to maintain it. “We’ll come through in the end, I know that much.” He nodded, stepping closer and reaching out to softly place his hands on her arms, leaning down and resting his forehead against hers, savoring this quiet moment as much as he could. He would start planning at sunrise.

The Violet Paladin (Keith x Reader) Ch 1
Summary: (Y/n) was just a normal girl with a normal life. She’s always been a dreamer looking to the stars and the future. When one fateful night changes her whole life what secrets lie beyond in the unknown?
[masterlist]
Word Count: 2447
It was just a normal day of classes at the garrison. I was standing in the back watching my best friend Katie and her teammates fly, unsuccessfully I might add... the simulator, which had resulted in a failure. I watched as Commander Iverson slammed open the pod door and yelled at the trio to get out. He used them as an example of a bad team.
Comparing them to my own team I think they're better than us. I'm on the team of Ina and Jacob, I hardly knew either of them before getting teamed up and even still I don't know much other than the basics like their flying and comm skills. I'm the team's engineer, I hope after I graduate I'll be able to help build new ships with my idea's.
I had been so zoned out in my thought's that I hadn't realized it was finally my teams turn in the simulator. Unlike with Katie's team, we hadn't crashed or anything so the rest of the class was as uneventful as usual. Thinking about it, it wasn't always like this. It used to be kind of fun, though I never really got to see it being in the engineer's class I had always heard of these two boys, I only learned the name of one, which was Keith because we were in a class together but he got kicked out not long ago.
He used to be one of the perfect models for when I was drawing, having this look about him that made it seem like he was never really here. I probably have more drawings of him than I'm willing to admit but I could help it. I grabbed my backpack with my drawing pad, pencils, and some snacks to go meet Katie on the roof. It had become a nightly routine for us, ever since she sneaked in after her father and brother went missing. I would spend the time sitting next to her either sketching the sky or when I listened to her machine I'd try to sketch what I imagined the voices to look like.
Tonight wasn't going to be any different, I walked onto the roof seeing I was alone I plopped down dangling my feet over the edge and grabbed my sketch pad and a pencil. I began drawing as I heard footsteps behind me and a heavy backpack sat next to me.
I looked over to see Katie. She quickly set up her machine and plugged in the headphone to listen.
"I hope we find out what Voltron is." She said with her eyes closed. "Me too, If it's as dangerous as I think it is, I hope those people we hear never find it," I told her. I went back to sketching the stars again but was soon after interrupted.
"You know it's not polite to ignore your girlfriend." I heard the familiar voice speak from behind. I turned to see none other than Lance and Hunk. "Oh, Lance, Hunk..." It seemed like it took her a moment to register what he had said, "For the last time we're not dating!"
"We're just looking at the stars," I told the Cuban teen. He'd looked pasted Pidge and me to see her tech.
"Man where'd you get that stuff it doesn't look like garrison tech at all," Lance remarked.
"I built it," Pidge smirked.
"You built all this?" Hunk slowly approached her gear to touch it but was slapped away.
"With this puppy, I can scan all the way to the edge of our solar system," She proudly started.
"All the way to Kerberos?" Lance retorted, Pidge immediately shrunk at the mention of that. "You go ballistic anytime a teacher mentions it!" I turned to Lance, "There are just things you don't understand," I took the liberty to slap Hunk's hand away for the second time.
"Well Pidge, if we're gonna bond as a real team we can't have any secrets and it seems like you're most comfortable with (Y/n) so we can bring her along too," Lance gave me one of his looks like he was trying to flirt with me, I had only known the looks cause I've seen him use them on other girls in the garrison. "Fine..." Pidge sighed. "The world as you know it is about to change," She had a sad look in her eye.
"The Kerberos mission wasn't lost because of pilot error or otherwise-"
"STOP TOUCHING MY EQUIPMENT!" Pidge shouted angrily at Hunk. You took note of this to keep an extra close eye on your sketch pad. "Anyways," She said after calming down, "I've been scanning the system and picking up alien radio chatter," She turned to look at Lance.
"Woah! Wait, Alien?!" Hunk panicked.
"Okay, so you're both insane," Lance crossed his arms and glared at us. "We're serious," I matched his glare.
"They've just been repeating one thing, and that's Voltron, and from what I've heard tonight it's been going crazier than ever," Pidge informed them.
"How crazy?" Lance questioned. We were interrupted by Iverson over the P.A. system
"What's going on?" Hunk looked around. "Is that a meteorite?" He pointed out something in the sky.
"Can't be," I mumbled.
"It's a ship!" Pidge announced.
"Holy cow! I can't believe what I am seeing! It's not one of ours,"
"That's because it's one of theirs," I almost wanted to smirk.
"So wait there really are aliens out there?" Hunk began to freak out yet again. Pidge and I immediately packed up and started to leave.
"I've gotta see that ship!" She cheered.
"Hunk come on!" Lance called following us.
The four of you sat on rocks near the base they set up but far enough away that we wouldn't be caught. I watched as Pidge hacked their systems to get a look inside. We watched Shiro on the feed surrounded by men in hazard suits. We had all perked up at the mention of Voltron from Shiro.
"We need to get down there and save him," I said.
"Hate to be the bearer of bad news but weren't we watching on this because there's no way to get down there past those guards?" Hunk pleaded.
"That was before we were properly motivated. Now we just gotta think. Could we tunnel in?" Lance was talking to himself. We all bounced ideas of how to get in (Or to go back to the dorms in Hunk's case), before agreeing on needing a distraction. That's when you heard explosions in the distance.
"Like that!" Lance shouted. Hunk began to freak out thinking it was aliens.
"No, that was a distraction," You commented.
"Yeah, for him," Pidge pointed out someone approaching from opposite of where the garrison had left.
"Oh no way, that guy is always trying to one-up me!" Lance shouted looking through the binoculars.
"Who?" Hunk asked as Lance jumped down.
"Keith!" Lance shouted as Hunk followed him down.
"Who's Keith?" Pidge asked, then turned to me since I was the only one with her still.
"He got kicked out," I told her as we followed the boys. When we made it down everyone but Lance (who ran in) stayed by the entrance and watched the exchange between him and Keith.
Pidge, Hunk and I all kept watching for a minute while Lance and Keith carried Shiro back to Keith's hoverbike.
"Is this thing going to be big enough for all of us?" Pidge asked.
"No," Keith replied. Lance handed Shiro over to Pidge and I as he sat on the wing. Keith quickly took off with the Garrison not far behind us. I helped Pidge keep Shiro on the bike as Keith was telling Hunk what to do to get the officers off our trail. So far it was successful except for one very persistent pursuer.
"Guys it that a cliff up ahead?" Hunk asked.
"Yup." Keith almost playfully said as he speeds up with us all screaming no.
"You're gonna get us all killed!" Lance shouted.
"Just trust me!" Keith said. How we survived that I may never know but we did.
Keith drove to a small shack in the middle of nowhere and parked, by this time it was almost morning and Shiro had woken up.
Everyone except Keith and Shiro was inside just kind of talking. "You realize how much trouble we will be in when we go back right?" I asked. We all remained silent for a moment that's when Keith and Shiro walked in.
Keith walked over to a board covered by a white sheet and ripped it off to reveal a bunch of pictures and diagrams.
"What is this?" Shiro asked.
"I don't really know, I've been working on it basically since I was booted from the Garrison, like some energy out here was telling me to search,"
"For what exactly?" I slightly zoned out from the conversation as I looked at the picture of the lion carvings. I only started paying attention again when I saw Shiro had turned to us.
"I guess I should thank you all, Lance right?" He shook Lance's hand. Then turned to Pidge, Hunk and I.
"(Y/n)," I shook his hand as well.
"The nervous guy is Hunk I'm Pidge," She introduced herself. "So did anyone else from your crew make it out?"
"I'm not sure. The last things I remember are the mission and when we got captured, other than that it's just bits and pieces,"
"Yeah sorry to interrupt but back to the aliens. Where exactly are they now?" Hunk began to panic yet again.
"I can't really put it together, I just remember "Voltron", Its some weapon they're searching for, but I think we need to find it before they do,"
"Well, last night I was rummaging through Pidge's stuff," As soon as I heard that come from Hunk's mouth I clutched mine tighter. "I found this picture, look it's his girlfriend," He chuckled a bit.
"Hey, give me that! Why were you in my stuff?" She asked him.
"I was looking for snacks."
"Did you go through mine?" I asked.
"No," He replied "Anyway's I found these series of number that looks like a Fraunhofer Line,"
"A what?" Keith asked.
"It's a number that describes the emission spectrum of an element, that is not found on earth, So it might be this Voltron and I can probably build a machine to look for it," Hunk quickly explained. "The wavelength looks like this," He pulled out a paper which Keith took and held to his board and it matched up with a series of rock formations.
After Hunk built his machine the six of us traveled out there and followed Hunk and Pidge to a cave with more drawings of the lions. I looked at each one, they were all fascinating. When they started to glow, I backed up a bit when the floor crumbled. We all screamed as we were on almost like a water slide and landed in a little pool of water at the bottom.
"Ow," I mumbled and looked up to see a lion.
"Is this it?" Pidge asked.
"It must be," Shiro said.
"This has got to be what's been causing all this crazy energy out here," Keith walked towards it.
"There's a force field around it." I said, "And probably for a good reason." I mumbled the last part, everyone had already started walking towards it I sighed and followed. Keith put his hands on the force field.
"I wonder how we get through?" He asked no one.
"Maybe we just have to knock?" Lance knocked and the Lion roared to life it seemed like we all had the same vision of six lions forming one giant mecha.
"Whoa," We all said.
"This is only one part of Voltron," Shiro said.
"I wonder where the rest are?" Pidge questioned. The lion lowered down and opened its mouth.
"Hey we probably shouldn't," I started but Lance already ran inside. "Touch anything..." as everyone else walked up.
"Come on (y/n)," Pidge said, I walked up behind her and into the head. The controls all powered on and were in a language we couldn't understand. I stood in the back between Keith and Shiro.
"Okay, guys, I feel like I need to point out just so we're all aware, we're in some kind of futuristic alien cat head right now," Hunk said.
"Whoa did you guys just hear that?"
"What?" Keith asked.
"I think it's talking to me," Lance turned to look at the controls.
"Wait Lance don't touch anything," I said but too late he already started to push buttons.
"Don't worry I've got this," He said and blasted out of the cave and started flying crazily. I grabbed the nearest thing, which happened to be Keith who was also holding onto something for dear life.
"You are the worst pilot ever!" Keith yelled.
"This is awesome!" Lance cheered.
"Make it stop!" Hunk pleaded.
"I'm not making it do anything,"
"Where are you going?" Keith asked as we took off towards space.
"I just said I'm not doing anything, it says there is an alien ship approaching Earth I think we're supposed to stop it," Lance said.
"What did it say exactly?" Pidge asked.
"It's not saying words just idea's... Kinda,"
"If that's them and this is what they're coming for maybe we should just give it to them," Hunk said.
"You don't understand, these monsters spread like a plague through the galaxy, giving them this won't stop them," We all glared at Hunk who shrunk back. As we turned back, we were face to face with a large Alien cruiser which began firing at us.
Lance avoided the blasts. "Okay, I think I know what to do,"
"Be careful man this isn't the simulator!" Pidge warned.
"Oh, good, cause I always crash those," Lance said. That didn't make any of us feel any better but Lance shot a beam from the lion and attacked it before flying us away from the planet and towards deep space. We passed Kerberos and we were all in shock, and a wormhole had opened in the distance. "Where does it go?" Pidge asked.
"I don't know, Shiro, you're the senior officer, what should we do?" We all turned to Shiro.
"I don't know what's happening but the lion seems to know more than we do, so, for now, we should trust it. However we're a team now, so we decide together," We were all silent but it seemed like we agreed to go through the wormhole was the best option.

Fankid Kill List
I was going through some of my fankids I’m not feeling as much and debating whether I should scrap anyone. To help organize my thoughts, I wrote notes about each character to see if things could be salvaged.
Kanto
- Blue “Leaf” Greene (Beta) (Single Mother) Quill Greene - Beta!Boy
Pros: While a bit of a con since it makes developing him daunting since too many possibilities, he has an in with Team Cross and Team Rocket, so there's a wide range of possibilities here. A unique position other kids don't have. His design is also open to whatever cause his father doesn't matter so sky's the limit. In some ways it's wasted potential to scrap him?
Issues: He is, without question, the oldest fankid if I stick to the original plotline. That is truly why I have issues developing him. He's disconnected and by the time TC is taken down, he'd be 24-28. No longer a kid, an adult with his own life by this point. Which further disconnects him from the rest of the cast. Leaf isn't going to be able to justify shielding a 28 year old either, the way she could if he was in his teens.
Solutions: Scrap Leaf. But to keep him, I really do need to modify things with Leaf. Because I don't want a fankid that much older than the others. Maybe Leaf really is just a villain. Joined TC because why not. She was in TR already. Maybe the group wasn't as bad early on. Plus she had already experimented on Pokemon. In this scenario, she doesn't take the job for her son, she does it for herself. Quill is either the result of sleeping with someone in the group, or full on science baby. This would allow me to make him younger, but amps Leaf’s villainy, to the point she approaches irredeemable. Or at least Karma Houdini. He requires a lot of consideration, which since I forever neglect Kanto, is why I consider cutting him. Save myself some headache. Although if he goes, Leaf might go as well. I could also just make him evil. Science experiment kid that attacks others. But again, Leaf’s villainy increases as his does. Basically, kinda start fresh.
Johto
Perfect as is!
Hoenn
- Liza Remwood (Alpha) & Flannery [Moore] Remwood (Beta) (FiregirlShipping) Scarlet Remwood - Alpha!Girl
(Flavia can live)
Pros: Liza knocking up two ladies during her world tour through Hoenn is so good. I love this plotline. The kind of drama I crave. I also love this ship idea, one of my pair-the-spares I got more attached to.
Issue: I just...have no role for her. Flavia is friends with Ina, and I really really like the potential of this ship as well as the way they get together. So they have to have at least one kid. But there's a reason I don't give two kids to side ships unless I'm super passionate about them. She just feels like a placeholder character.
Solution: Obviously develop her. In theory, she should be around the same age as the older Hoenn kids. Thus she needs a role related to them. Gym Leader like Micah and Neil? E4 member? I think designing her might help. Alternatively, she could maybe work for Interpol and interact with Lonan, Rosette, and Lynn. Take the role Kalei was meant to have. Be a tough independent girl like Liza.
- Greta Walter (Alpha) & Liza Alvis (Omega) (MartialArtsShipping) Alyssum Alvis - Alpha!Girl
Pros: Her parent ship is cute.
Issues: Like all the Hoenn kids on this list, I have no role or development for her. She literally only exists because I’m very taken with Tate’s family, so I had to develop his twin sister by default. I also like her parent’s ship in theory, but they have no development. So I actually just don't care about this family at all outside their connection to Tate’s family.
Solutions: I really am drawing a blank for her development. She could possibly interact with Armel, Mara, Corin, and Lotte, which would imply an interest in contests. Make her someone's ex? Liliana or Kei’s? There is no loss or gain to her, so unless something comes up, it might be best to let her go and add her back down the line if needed. Alternatively, doing something drastic to her parent’s ship might help. It’s why I like Tate/Tucker, so adding some kind of edge could go a long way.
- Sidney Cethin (Alpha) & Glacia [Foyr] Cethin (Omega) (HoennEliteShipping) Damien Cethin - Omega!Boy
Pros: I'm starting to grow really fond of his parent’s ship.
Issues: Don't care for his name. No role. No real feel for his character at all.
Solution: Change name. To Lumi perhaps? Even though it's an ice themed girl’s name, I've wanted to use it for a while and could swing it for an omega. He could maybe work for the E4. Have a crush on Dylan? Interact with main Hoenn kids more. Maybe completely swap the roles I was thinking of for him and Scarlet. He's in Interpol? Ice king. He and Scarlet could also be bitter exes with lingering feelings. I suppose that would give Lonan someone his own age to go to for advice. With Scarlet they're just bros, but I suppose with Damien, they could also “help each other out” during that time of the year.
- Zinnia Draconid (Omega) (Single Mother) Eurybia Draconid - Omega!Girl (Other parent is Liza Remwood (Alpha); IotaShipping; one night stand)
Pros: The plotline for her conception is so good. I want to keep her for that reason alone. Potentially cute design with parents like that.
Issues: No development. She’s also kinda tied to Scarlet, so if one goes, the other likely follows.
Solutions: Develop more. If I keep Scarlet, she lives by default. So prioritize Scarlet for development. Since character wise, I was picturing her somewhat priestess like. The other way to interpret “lorekeeper.”
- Riley Roscoe (Alpha) & Wanda [Lorn] Roscoe (Omega) (TunnelShipping) Ander Roscoe - Alpha!Boy
Pros: He's Peyton’s cousin so from a story standpoint, I like the idea of Wanda helping Wally out with pregnancy stuff since she already had a kid.
Issues: I feel nothing for the parent ship which is the major issue with him. I also picture him taking after his dad more , so not a cutie and pretty boys are my bread and butter.
Solution: Give him a cute design? Change his design and character so he takes after Wally’s half of the family more? Bryne could maybe date him, which is an idea I've had for a while anyway but I should develop Bryne more first.
Sinnoh
- Maylene Hendrick (Alpha) & Candice [Iclyn] Hendrick (Omega) (GlistenShipping) North Hendrick - Alpha!Girl
Pros: Pink hair. Her parents are an obvious f/f alpha/omega couple I've considered since the beginning.
Issues: Don't feel much for the parent ship. Have no role other more interesting characters can't serve. The issue truly is that for almost everyone else I consider cutting, I either like the parent ship or I sort of like the idea of the character themselves. North has neither quality.
Solution: She's #1 on the hit list, so I truly do think I will cut her. That's the solution. Otherwise….while there's no character/personality to scrap cause she has nothing, try to start from the ground up?
- Thorton Withrow (Beta) & Marley [Austin] Withrow (Beta) (BriarShipping) Ivy Withrow - Beta!Girl
Pros: She actually has a design sketch started! A potential science kid Oralie could interact with. Or just provide tech support from the background. Quirky and eccentric.
Issues: She's actually low on the hit list since my main issue is that I'm just not feeling the parent ship as much, over having issues with her? It was a pair-the-spares that stuck, but never rose in interest for me. I'm neutral on them over disliking them. She's also just not that well developed, but same with everyone else on this list.
Solution: Consider changing parent ship? I want her tied to Thorton over Marley if this happens. Parents divorce? Finish the sketch of her, since actually drawing the character almost always helps.
Unova
- Curtis Mirren (Omega) & Rosa Blanc (Omega) (LiveCasterShipping) Briar Mirren-Blanc - Omega!Boy
Pros: Protag ship so kinda have to keep per my own rules. Has a unique family dynamic and conception method. Cute. Potential actor kid. Creepers would be into him which is easy drama points, so an avenue to explore even if I've maybe overused the idea at this point.
Issues: I don't like his parent ship much. That's really a big part of it. They're fine. But just boring. I have no alt ship for either of them though so this isn't easily fixable. He’s also disconnected from everyone since I don't have him interacting with anyone yet.
Solution: Either the parent ship needs to be scraped or heavily modified, or Briar just needs to suffer. Throw shitty omegaverse tropes at him so his life is angst, and then maybe I'll care. A different route I haven't actually used tho is he could be a fankid hit with a teen pregnancy. Cause what scandal. Bonus points if the father is either his manager or just some older actor guy he co-starred with in something. Someone playing his father.
- Lenora Carter (Alpha) & Hawes [Howard] Carter (Omega) (AloeVeraShipping) Amber Carter - Omega!Girl
Pros: Her design would be cute as hell. Sorta fro-ish hair the same color as Lenora’s. Sorry Hawes, she's gonna look like Lenora. Also a friend for Bailey, which is an idea I've had for a while.
Issues: Don't care about her parent ship. I don't dislike them. I just couldn't care less. So like Ivy, she's low on the hit list since it's related to parent ship over disliking the fankid herself.
Solution: Draw her so I like her more? I don't think much can be done about her parents tho. They're canon and no reason to ship them with anyone else.
- Benga Asquith-Dragwald (Alpha), Iris Asquith-Dragwald (Alpha), & Shannon [Cecil] Asquith-Dragwald (Omega) (DragonheartfullShipping) Kino Asquith-Dragwald - Alpha!Boy (Biological parents are Benga/Shannon) Aspen Asquith-Dragwald - Alpha!Girl (Biological parents are Iris/Shannon)
Pros: A unique family dynamic I don't have anywhere else. In theory, the kids have good color combos for designs.
Issues: I kinda...don't care about any of these characters as much? As terrible as this sounds, Iris is a character I never felt any attachment to. She's fine. I just don't care. And Benga and Shannon aren't actually interesting enough on their own to fuel this family. It's a ship I consider dropping because I don't care.
Solution: Change things around with the ship? I don't know what. I'm not against this pairing, I’m just not super feeling it as it stands. That needs to be resolved before I can make progress with the kids.
- Stephan Moray (Alpha) & Montgomery Vilis (Omega) (GekiShipping) Wyatt Vilis - Alpha!Boy
Pros: Interaction with the Grimsley/Marshal kids, who I love. I like the basic idea of the connection between their families as well. Exists to be someone Colvin can use once he's rescued. So Colvin’s sad future ex-boyfriend.
Issues: He's very undeveloped and I actually don't feel strongly about the parent ship. Making them connected to Grimsley/Marshal just means they’re overshadowed by that ship’s greatness since that's a ship I really really like. Also, any number of characters could be Colvin’s kinda sorta boyfriend once he's rescued. I don't need to make a character whose only role is that. So he needs more. Needs to be his own person.
Solution: Obviously just develop him more. Also consider doing something to switch up his parents dynamic a bit? I think if I can make myself feel that ship more, things will fall into place.
Kalos
- Olympia de Vere (Alpha) & Fantina Belaire (Omega) (CirqueDuSoleilShipping) Sybil de Vere - Alpha!Girl
Pros: Gonna have a bitchin design with those parents. Can be the Gym Leader of Anistar, a role I need. Psychic chic who can see the future, so useful for plot purposes if needed.
Issues: She's very disconnected from the other Kalos kids, who all are interwoven through each other. That’s really her biggest con.
Solution: Make her interact with more characters. Also make her a bit younger, maybe only a year old when the game ends? She could very well be Casimir’s age as well. No reason a 14 year old couldn't be a Gym Leader. Something she feels super strongly about, given her heritage. Also instead of her being cold like Olympia, switch things around and actually make her kind of petulant. Butts heads with other characters. Really, just get her interacting with someone. She has relatives in Hoenn and Sinnoh so no reason to lock her to Kalos either. Which if I keep her older, is an option for the other characters to have her interact with. Travels with Felix for a time?
Alola
- Hapu Makua (Alpha) & Acerola [Kealoha] Makua (Omega) (SilkStoneShipping) Akoko Makua - Omega!Girl (Twin) Akia Makua - Alpha!Girl (twin)
Pros: I said I'd do parent ships people recommended and that's what this is. I also don't think I'd pair these two with anyone else? They have ghost potential with is always a plus
Issues: I don't care about this pairing or the parent characters. Either of them. Hapu is just kind of boring while Acerola is one I want to like in theory, but don't. And unlike most of the other kids in this situation, Akoko and Akia don't have anything going for them that makes me consider holding on for that reason alone.
Solution: They're very high on the hit list. Hard to say if they're #2 or #3 (tied with the kid below). Since while I could do something drastic with their story to make them more interesting, nothing will change the fact that I just don't feel anything for their parents. Maybe it's better to scrap them and cut my losses. I can always add them again later. Plus easier to start fresh if they've been scraped.
- Kukui (Alpha) & Burnet (Beta) (EternalHoneyMoonShipping) Kalei Burnet-Kukui - Beta!Girl
Pros: White hair! This is such a blessing, it's a shame I don't feel this kid at all. From a narrative standpoint, I also feel these two would have a child. It makes sense given how they were acting as parents to Lillie. They really truly should have a fankid.
Issues: I don't care about the parent ship and never will. It's cute, but I have no desire to develop canon ships. This is a curse I have as a whole in any and all fandoms. And while this is true for every Alola character, I got no role for Kalei.
Solution: I do think cutting her and Akia and Akoko would go a long way to making me like Alola more. If I could make myself happy with all the fankid in the region, it'd make me want to develop them more. Because I don't actually like Alola all that much. Doesn't have the advantage the other regions have for me (except maybe Kalos) where I really like the region as a whole. I've thought about her a lot, and at this point, I can't think of anything that would make me like her more. Cause the parent ship will always be the issue. If I do scrap her, I might give her name to the Lillie/Hau daughter, cause I hate Leila’s name.
Orre
Perfect as is!

Chapter 12 - Part 2
Everyone has their stories and their pasts. And sometimes they catch up.
Start Here Previous Part
Frecker still coughed a few more times when he finally got up. That girl sure was strong. He had worked with many female guardians and soldiers before and they all passed tests and fights as easily as the males. Never would he look down on a fighting woman.
But Inarya had already been a special case with her dark magic. Now this other girl, only slightly taller than Falenyo, had a punch that sent him flying so easily.
Maybe he was just wounded in his pride.
Yet, he couldn’t stop eyeing Shijira who just went back happily to the others.
Falenyo and Ina were already prepared to follow that cat boy. Both were looking at the archer curiously. Each of them had her head tilted in another direction.
“Zesa …”
“I have heard that name …”
“Ah!”
At the same time, their eyes lighted up. They looked at each other and nodded.
“You are the famous archer!” Inarya exclaimed.
“We know someone who was looking for you,” Falenyo explained. “His name is Acha and he wants to learn from you!”
A bashful look appeared on Zesa’s face and he lowered his voice, “But … I’m not that good. How does he even know about me?”
“Don’t talk about yourself like that. You are amazing!” Shijira chipped in.
They kept on talking but Frecker didn’t listen to them anymore. It was nothing important. What irked him more was the fact that his charge just followed the stranger without coordinating with him.
Hence, he looked over to Filian and asked, “Do we even have the time to follow them?”
The tactician raised his brows slightly. He surely wouldn’t have expected for Frecker to start talking to him.
“Ah, well …” Filian’s eyes wandered to the sky. “That … priest wasn’t wrong. You won’t get them to come down so soon. We have to let them calm down first before we can continue and since the village is on our way anyway, it’s okay.”
He shrugged. The moment he had let the griffons loose, they immediately rose to the sky and were now drawing circles above the small group.
Hearing that, Frecker just grunted and nodded. If it was like that, there was no way for him to convince Falenyo to keep on going. Especially not with Inarya around.
Then he would just keep an eye on the little cleric. To make sure that she would not get into any trouble. There was nothing else for him to do, after all.
Nature was even very quiet today, as much as he didn’t trust the strangers, it didn’t seem like anything would happen so soon.
When Frecker looked at Falenyo again, he grabbed the hilt of his sword a bit tighter.
An animal. He would have never thought. He would have never fathomed. Those beings that were neither human nor magical. They were just … different. He had always accepted it as normal. They were nothing that belonged in this world – or so he had thought.
Why else would they exist if they shouldn’t be in the world?
Even the demons, born from the sins of the humans, had formed a society and strived for freedom.
Frecker loosened his grip a bit as he pressed his lips onto each other. Prejudices. He should stop have prejudices. He should protect. That was his duty. He would never arrogate the Goddess of Light’s benevolence to him. He just wanted to protect.
Benevolence was Falenyo’s job. And she did a wonderful job. She accepted everyone and everything, smiling and forgiving. Maybe that was even why the Goddess gifted the girl her blessing. Because an animal would understand. Because they had been treated unfairly their whole life. They wouldn’t jump into any conclusions when they met someone new.
Finally, Frecker sighed and took his hand away from his sword. But seeing the priestess, he couldn’t put away his doubt. It was not because of her. No, even if she didn’t trust him, he had long decided to give his life for her if necessary. But there was still that one question lingering in him.
“Would you be ready to kill your charge if needed?”
The very first words that head priest Valténs had directed to him.
After everything that had happened, Frecker thought that nothing could faze him anymore. But hearing that question, he looked up in bewilderment. So many things were wrong with that. Mostly the fact, that a priest of Light was asking it.
The guardian couldn’t even find a proper answer. Or at least not the words. He hadn’t talked in such a long time …
But he would never kill someone without a good reason. Especially not someone who was entrusted to him!
Even if he didn’t say it, his gaze must have given him away.
At least, Johannes Valténs began to smile faintly. He didn’t continue pressing for an answer. Instead, he just started with the administrative work.
“You can stay here as long as you want. I do not care who you were or who you are, even if I know. It would be against the Goddess’ teachings if I were to judge you. If you can, please help with the sentry duties and the maintenance of this place. But we will not turn you away if you are just seeking refuge.”
That was everything the head priest had said at that time. Their paths didn’t cross anymore after that.
Frecker was just a simple temple guardian, a sentry, nothing more. He didn’t even have contact with the common priests – neither in the temple nor in the village that the priests built around the holy ground.
Johannes was the head of the Temple of Light, the person who was blessed enough to personally talk to the Goddess and brought even more blessings to the Tower.
It surprised the guardian even more when he was asked to meet head priest Valténs on that day. Johannes had an inscrutable look on his face. Maybe he was even a bit distracted.
Because Frecker still knew how the priest was looking at him and yet not really.
Guilt.
Now that he thought about it. It was the same way Frecker avoided everyone else. A guilt not to be spoken about.
“Would you be ready to kill your charge if needed?”
The question again. Once again without any introduction. Once again Frecker wasn’t prepared for it.
After his own failure, Frecker had sworn that he would never let anyone stray from their god anymore. Especially not priests. But would that include killing? It would never be that severe, would it? Because if you killed priests, who would be left to praise the gods, then?
Why was he even asked that question?
Before he could decide what he should reply, Johannes had already continued himself.
The head priest ran both of his hands over his face while muttering to himself, “No, they asked for him specifically, his answer wouldn’t matter. And she isn’t a high priestess … it’s going to be okay … it’s going to be okay …”
Johannes looked up. Tired. Exhausted. He couldn’t even bring himself to a smile. The one Frecker had seen so often when the head priest saw off priests who were leaving for wanderings.
“I know, you are in fact not affiliated to us in any way. But Her Majesty, Queen Cecilia, has an assignment for you, Frecker, herald of Hope.”
That was how the man ended up here.
There was always a bad feeling in his stomach when he looked at Falenyo and remembered the conversation.
He wouldn’t be able to do it. He was hesitating when he found out that she was an animal. But he never thought about drawing his sword against her even once. No, he was here to protect. That was his job.
The moment he found that resolve for him, a sudden voice sounded next to him, “Can I talk to you for a bit?”
It was the archer, Zesa, who was next to him.
When Frecker looked forward, he saw how Shijira had engaged Falenyo and Inarya in conversation.
The women were talking eagerly, not caring a bit about others.
Hence, the guardian looked back at Zesa and nodded.
The man had a stoic face again, all traces of familiarity, that he displayed in front of Falenyo before, were gone. But his voice was not cold. It was very soft, deep, and reminded Frecker of someone he used to know.
“In your eyes, where do the powers of a priest come from?”
Even though the strange question took the man by surprise, he quickly replied as if having learned it by heart, “They have received their blessings from the gods and are thus required to praise the gods for their power.”
“Indeed. So, do you think, priests will lose their power if they do not praise their god?”
“Of course, they will! If you fall from grace, you will lose your power! It is the reason of the existence of us humans after all!” Frecker’s eyes shone slightly furiously. But as he noticed what he just said, he cleared his throat to add, “And seemingly animals as well.”
A smile appeared on Zesa’s lips. Faintly. But most of all, only fleetingly. He didn’t engross the topic. Instead he just posed another question, “But … what if you never fall from grace? What if you always have believed but your god dies?”
Frecker halted. His hand wandered to his sword, unconsciously. In front of him, Zesa stopped as well and looked at him. The moment his didn’t hear his footsteps anymore, all the other sounds became so uncontrollably loud.
The chatting and shrieking of the girls in front of them. Filian’s slow steps, each of them placed on the ground with much thought. The griffons above them with the majestic flapping. And the wind. The wind that was said to bring a new season to Gladisu. The wind that brought warmth and life everywhere.
But it still felt cold. Frecker felt so cold. His mouth was dry, when he answered, “The moment a god dies, his magic leaves the world and with him the blessing he gave his priests.”
Zesa nodded. He still stood there, a few feet away from the guardian. He was neither agreeing nor disagreeing. He just acknowledged the answer. And then, another question. Quiet and almost flying away with the wind.
“But you can still protect, can’t you?”
The words were indeed flying with the wind. The wind blew in Frecker’s face and made the next words even clearer.
“Please be at Falenyo’s side, when we are in the next village. I am going to show her something. But I think … she is not the only priest who needs some guidance.”
With that, Zesa was smiling again. That brotherly smile that could warm a heart. A person that wanted to help and would even gently take your hand to bring you to your destination.
Herald of Hope. Frecker wasn’t so sure whether he was fit for the title or not. But to be a herald of something, one should have that thing, too, shouldn’t they?
And when Zesa turned to go to the girls because Shijira had called him, Frecker didn’t stay back. Instead, he stepped forward, to walk by the side of Falenyo.

Chapter 34: First night in Ueda
Ina looked at Masayasu and realized that his blue eyes seemed to reflect on having a possible kunoichi nearby. Even if Nadeshiko was not they should be suspicious that she could pass information to Sasuke, that was something they should consider.
She looked at the tea and then took the teapot and poured tea on the kobachi to Masayasu, he looked at her gesture, but she took the kobachi and sniffed the liquid just to be sure what was there. She felt only the scent of tea and then looked up at Masayasu.
He took the kobachi and also sniffed to see if there was poison, he knew Ina had checked, but all care was short.
While he was testing the tea, Ina served sake for him in a masu and took to the nose to fill, the sake seemed normal too, this seemed paranoia, but they had to be careful what they could eat or drink, at least until they were sure about who were really Nadeshiko and her mother, Kirisu.
Ina handed the masu to Masayasu and took her tea and took a sip. She started to eat using a pair of hashi, so she brought a sushi to Masayasu's lips. He opened his lips and accepted the food.
He chewed looking at her, so beautiful...a few minutes ago they had completely given up the passion they felt for each other. Ina noticed his gaze wandering over her, then quickly she touched his face worried.
"Are you okay? Are you thinking about your past? I'm here with you, you're not alone. No longer. You have me."
Ina spoke as she caressed his cheek with care, her violet eyes filled with concern. Masayasu realized that he had brought concern to her heart with his story, so he touched her face and smiled a little at her.
"I'm fine. I'm not thinking about my past, I'm thinking of you."
Masayasu spoke and a faint blush appeared on Ina's cheeks, she caught sight of those bright eyes as he looked at her. She smiled warmly, then let herself drift into the moment, drawing her face closer to his, her eyes glaring warmly at his, her lips parted.
Masayasu slid the hand that was on her face to her nape, he wished he had more of that moment of the ofuro with her, he wanted to feel her lips and her body again, but he also needed to keep his feelings calm, he could not let his body dominate his mind.
Their lips touched a passionate kiss, Ina slid her arms around his neck and felt him pull her into his lap. She allowed herself to be drive by him, their kisses getting more intense and deep, their tongues into a full hot dance, filled with desire for each other.
They broke the kiss and stared, still a little breathless. Their kisses were starting to have a greater urgency for each other. Ina laughed and leaned her head against Masayasu's shoulder, hugging him tightly.
"I've never dreamed of true love, it's always been something far from my life and thoughts, but now I have you and I long to live everything this life can offer me, by your side."
She lifted her face to meet Masayasu's blue eyes. He smiled a little at her, wrapping arms around her back, even now, in front of love, she does not dream, just hopes to have more opportunity for life to live next to him. She was a brave girl, he valued that much in her.
"Let's eat and lay down, this is our first night in Ueda, perhaps the only one really at peace, so let's rest early, we need to wake up refreshed."
Ina spoke and then saw a gleam in Masayasu's gaze and realized what he wanted. She laughed again, covering her lips with one hand.
"I understood your look, Masayasu-sama, be more careful, I know you wish for a night of love."
She spoke with a glare at him and a mysterious smile. Masayasu laughed a little, then smiled at her.
"I can no longer disguise this desire for you."
He spoke and Ina started eating again and looked back at Masayasu with a playful smile crossing her lips.
"You do not need to disguise when we are here, here I am your wife, Chie and you are my husband, Otsu, I want to have many nights or moments of love with you, many...."
She whispered the last part of the sentence and Masayasu spent some time looking into those violet eyes so full of life, he could easily say that he was bewitched by that young Hime, first taking his heart, now controlling his desires. But that did not hurt his pride, actually Inahime was his pride.
Again she began to serve food to his lips and sometimes softly kissed his lips. Masayasu thought that despite all the tension of thinking that he would have to face Ieyasu in the future, every moment was valid next to Ina, he did not regret anything at her side.
They finally ate, Ina was already kneeling again on the tatami and drinking green tea, she looked at Masayasu taking sake, it was good to have some comfortable and peaceful time. But her mind was already working with the idea of a spy inside the ryokan, if Nadeshiko was actually a kunoichi Ina would have to interpret her role as a merchant's daughter all the time.
"What are you thinking?"
Masayasu asked as he noticed her gaze wandering in nowhere as she sipped tea. She looked at him, her eyes meeting his. Her lips touched the kobachi, she took the last sip of tea and placed the kobachi on the tray.
"I was just thinking about spies around us. I'm going to play Chie at all times, to talk to you away from our room, maybe I'll use some codes."
Ina said looking at Masayasu and when she saw him serve sake again, she took out the tokkuri, that is the sake bottle from his hand and also the masu and placed they on the tray and smiled at him in a warm way.
Masayasu watched as Ina got up and walked into the closet and grabbed the items to arrange the futon for them to sleep, it was not night yet, but they would not sleep immediately anyway.
He watched her care in arranging everything, unlike any Hime that requires anyone to view them or organize their things, Ina had no problem doing so, in fact it made her surprise even more. She was an onna bugeisha, and even as one has her servants who do it for her and dress her, but here, in Ueda, she was just a simple girl. He smiled at that thought.
Masayasu got up and went to help Ina with the futon, she looked at him and smiled cheerfully, problems and thoughts about the mission were to wait, that day she wanted to have only one thought: Masayasu.
She came up to him and untied his kimono, opening it and touched his muscled chest with her hands. She slid through every muscle, he had a perfect body, although she always found scars on his body as she slid her hands.
He watched her with bright eyes, she could seduce him with so little, with such simple gestures. He touched the tie of Ina's kimono and he started to untie, she looked at his hands untied and then looked at his face and smiled warmly, she wanted to see his eyes watching her body again.
Masayasu opened her kimono and looked at her body, beautiful and perfect, there were no scars or marks, if she hurt herself in battles no marks remained, or maybe her armor had protected her body. He touched her face and she smiled tenderly.
Masayasu thought it was impossible for him to have control near her, not while they were alone in this way, he just wanted to feel their bodies again, and that was what he would do at that moment.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and back and brought his lips to hers as Ina wrapped her arms around his neck and looked at his lips, longing for that kiss, another kiss, surely he could not take it any longer, after that kiss their bodies would yield the passion again.
A kiss, now more ardent than before, full of urgency and passion. Ina grabbed the Masayasu's nape as their tongues played together, dancing with excitement. As they kissed, Masayasu laid Ina on the futon and bent over her, their bodies touching.
A soft moan escaped from Ina's lips and then Masayasu broke the kiss plus slid his lips down her neck, Ina just tilted her head back, grabbing at his hair and smiled feeling her whole body ablaze again. She longed for this moment again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Masayasu woke up and sat up quickly. It was night now, the room was in total darkness. He saw Ina sleeping quietly beside him. He covered her naked body and covered part of his own body as well.
He stared at her, sleeping soundly, relying on her safety. Perhaps she was fully aware that he did not sleep very well, so she trusted him and allowed herself to sleep through the night.
He did not want to wake her, she needed to rest, this trip had been really tiring, even more so for his wound that now just hurt a little, but maybe it was for the effort he did a little earlier with Inahime.
Masayasu heard a soft sound in the engawa and stared at the door. His hand slid up to his bag, from there he took off his holster with kunai and continued to stare at the door, his fingers already touching a kunai prepared to throw depending on whoever was behind the door.
"Handsome...."
A voice came from behind the door and Masayasu did not need to think too much about who he was, Ryouma. This mercenary never gave up. He frowned, his fingers still touching the kunai.
"You're awake that I know. Can I come in? I need to share something with you."
Ryouma whispered behind the door, his voice sounding urgent, and strangely trying to be discreet.
"Come in, but do not make a sound, Inahime is asleep."
Masayasu spoke in his low voice, but his tone was now cold and dry. He watched the door slide slowly with care, Ryouma entered the room and looked out still, for both sides on the outside, and then slid the door shut behind him.
He realized that the room was dark, but he could see well in the dark that did not make any difference to him. He approached silently from Masayasu, the shinobi staring at him suspiciously with this nightly visit.
Ryouma saw Ina asleep and then sat next to the futon and saw that Masayasu was half naked, a naughty smile appeared on his face instantly, he could not hide it.
"Oh good looking, good thing you're happy with Milady. I give my congratulations! But I did not come here to talk about her."
The mercenary looked toward the door as if waiting for something. Masayasu looked at the door and raised an eyebrow, then stared at Ryouma.
"There's no one there, say it or go away."
Masayasu spoke quietly and Ryouma looked at him and nodded.
"Nadeshiko...."
Ryouma started talking and Masayasu did not change the expression, but it seemed that Ryouma was finally being of help in some way, at least it was what it seemed.
"...I saw her talking to a man. I did not see his face, but he wore black like you, had a little messy hair and a red lock of hair."
Ryouma spoke in a low voice and looked at Ina, he did not want to wake her, it was not necessary at that moment. He looked at Masayasu who was now with his hand on his chin thinking, he knew who the man Ryouma was talking about.
"Sasuke..." Masayasu whispered.
Ryouma sighed, he had suspected, but did not know Sasuke, but when he saw Nadeshiko talking to him his instinct said it was a shinobi.
"Did you hear what they were talking about?"
Masayasu asked in a low, still cold voice. Ryouma shrugged.
"A little, they were in a dark part of the courtyard, Nadeshiko was whispering to him, I could only hear that she said that travelers had arrived and that one of them was apparently samurai."
"I suspected Nadeshiko from earlier when she came here. I think she's a kunoichi, if she meets Sasuke she may just be an informant, but my instinct says she's more than that."
Masayasu told Ryouma, who was watching him silently, if Masayasu suspected it was because she probably showed some gesture that he would recognize.
"I can help."
Ryouma spoke with an ironic smile appearing on his lips. Masayasu saw that smile and raised an eyebrow. What kind of help was Ryouma suggesting?
"Give me one day, I'll flirt with her, I'll seduce her and give you whatever information I can get."
Ryouma spoke and Masayasu sighed, he feared that this was the help, it seems that Ryouma only managed to get information using seduction, but if he trusted it maybe it was his skill.
"Ok, one day only. If you can not get information, then unfortunately I'll have to attack her directly. Sasuke already knows we're here, she's told of a samurai, maybe Sasuke still does not know I'm here, if he knows this can be a big problem. And be careful what you tell her, if she's a kunoichi will try to take information from you, remember you're Ryu, Chie's cousin, I'm Otsu, her husband."
Ryouma rested his hands on his thighs and nodded a few times. He knew he needed to be careful with the beautiful Nadeshiko, she could be poisonous, and not sweet like most women who cross his path.
"Hey handsome. Tell this to Milady only when she wakes up, I do not wish her to have a bad night's sleep, that's her first night here, and maybe she does not have any night like that here. Take care of her, she really looks happy at your side."
Ryouma said looking at Ina asleep. Masayasu stared at Ryouma with a frown, his lips creasing.
"Are you done? Go on, I'll still try to rest a little longer."
Masayasu spoke in a rough tone, his voice low and husky as his usual voice was.
Ryouma looked at Masayasu and leaned forward with an ironic smile appearing on his lips.
"It seems like you had a lot of fun today with Milady, so just relax, you seem to be angry at everything, she wants you, just you, so you do not need to be jealous of me."
He winked at Masayasu, letting another wry grin run down his lips. Jealous? Masayasu frowned.
"Who's jealous here?" He spoke in a dry tone. "If you do not have anything useful to talk about, get out! She needs to rest, and I need to rest too!"
Masayasu showed so much coolness in his tone that Ryouma realized that he was really serious. But he loved to tease Masayasu, it was great fun.
"Sleep well...with Milady..."
Ryouma said wryly and winked and quickly got up and went to the door, Masayasu staring at him cruelly. His blue eyes were cold as a glacier at that moment.
Ryouma wanted to laugh, but that might disrupt Inahime's sleep, he just smiled wryly and slid open the shoji door, left and closed the door behind him.
Masayasu still stared at the door for a few more minutes, Ryouma always irritated him and as much as he did not want to demonstrate it was visible. He looked at Inahime, she was still sleeping, he would not disturb her in trouble that night, he would tell Nadeshiko and Sasuke about her when she woke up.
He lay down beside her, turned to her side touched her hair and caressed, as he looked at her face, then he wrapped an arm around her body as he watched her beautiful face sleep soundly. So serene, he did not have that choice.
Black Rose Sesh Report V
i think it’s number five at least.
Here we go again:
fuck having a bum shoulder. again. seriously, fuck it. right in the asshole.
ok
the trip back wasn’t an odyssey so much as it was a revelation-filled romp.
also chillhop music makes me seriously so lyrical. it’s... it’s like I’m helpless, but I’m also scared that people might see me as a pretentious bitch or something, but I also recognize that maybe this is just my anxiety or some shit?
thought looops, like frooot loops
oh yeah!
revalations
one: holy fuck I am so fucking bi.
there was this couple heading back -- WAITTTTT
how could I almost forget Oliver?!
ok
People I met on the romp back:
(wait tags)
(ok, back to here - but ow, fuck)
Eric, Lisa, and Oliver the Dog.
amazing neighbors who’ve lived in the area for a long ass time. also Oliver is cleverly named due to the location.
the black cat that I thought was a little girl twin of my handsome boy? nope! He’s an adorable little psychopath named Merlin! he loves people, is adorable, vocal, cuddly, his owners are this amazingly punk rock lady and this guy who could be like a secret badass punk nerd from accounting or something. And he’s a bit psycho ‘cause he does the whole “snuggle up to your leg to purr and cuddle you, ask for belly rubs, then will attack your hand”. My Zi doesn’t do that at all. He will give you maaaaaany warning bops with his back legs, no claws, before he begins to lazily warning bite you.
Alright, ok.
Revelations.
one: I am so fucking bi.
there was this couple heading home from a run. both of them were HELLA FINE. I mean, of the two I’d prefer the dude, but if I could have both of ‘em, then hell yes I would.
I have the preference namely because the lady was wearing matching pink shirt and scrunchie - and that get up on a wavy blonde made me think of that character from the Arnold the Armadillo show and I don’t like her as much.
they were wearing matching running tights, the girl was wearing pink and the guy was wearing orange (my favourite colour).
Both probably within my age range, maybe in their 30s.
The guy was super in shape, bony, broad, muscled shoulders and a runner’s taper.
Gal was thicc and had a face that looked like Denaerys Targarean (idk how the fuck to spell that name rn)
two: I’m living in my dream neighborhood, basically, and living my dream.
where I’m at, I just went out for a walk to a park - it felt like I was at a lake.
there’s dogs everywhere, and friendly people who own those dogs. people with stories to tell, who are happy to sit down and chat.
there’s beautiful people where I live. All sorts of beautiful people. (see revelation one: I am hella bi - and for any biphobes out there, remember that bi means i find more than one gender attractive. think about that for a sec, I’ll wait.)
there are couples in their 30s with no kids, so this place is fairly childfree.
there are people leading alternative lifestyles all around me, mixed in and living side by side harmoniously with neighbors who are more traditional. including couples even who are made up of a “normal” looking person and someone visibly living that alternative lifestyle.
today has been filled with so many LGBTQ encounters of other LGBTQ people living visibly out - whether they’re living out to prove a point, living out because it’s right for them, living out despite the fear, living out because it’s fun to, etc, etc. - that it makes me so happy to see.
there was a dude in this really fancy sports car - likewise somewhere in this 30s - which almost everyone at the intersection had to turn their heads to appreciate
there was this guy with a beard (beards are so attractive) balancing on this fancy looking road bike (god, I love bikes) - makin’ that choice for whatever his reason is, but it’s one I love because we need more bikes and less cars
on my way home, and this ties into the point below, I passed under a balcony where several ladies where having a girl’s night and discussing things.
and it turned into this awesome look on feminism in a way because they were talking about I think female genital mutilation (these are all ladies in their late 30s or older - lots of talk of husbands, etc) and how there’s so many women still having it done to them.
one of the ladies mentioned how some man in her life somewhere (she mentioned how she knew, but there was a dog I was distracted by when she explained, so I didn’t really catch it) was talking about how less girls get mutilated than boys or something. And she was like “well i don’t know the numbers for boys, but even if it is higher, that’s still six--(some ridiculously large number like 600 million or something, or 600 thousand...) and then that means there’s even more children being mutilated than that because the boys get mutilated more often.”
like, holy shit, a man engaging in “oppression olympics” when a woman was just trying to express her shock that any children are being mutilated - and that he was being excited for winning a gender competition for “whose gender is mutilated the most as young, helpless babies?!”!
anyways, that little aside aside
holy fuck my shoulder hurts
I was thinking I could do this part as part of the stream of conscience further down, but I don’t think I can hold out that long.
So ok, I separated the AC joint (or something like that) in my right shoulder from some bungled board breaking I did during a parade with my karate club. Boards got rained on and my student and I still broke them.
I bungled this break only in that the first two elbow attempts didn’t work - the board was way too wet and it bounced both the elbows back. So I resorted to hammer fist to break it and boooooo. I wanted to elbow it.
But yeah, turns out I’m hurting.
But I’m not sure if I am or not. Again, this is probably anxiety? or maybe another revelation.
But like, I’m confused. Would a separated shoulder take 48hrs to fully onset in terms of the pain and symptoms? Cause I felt like I was sore, but still able to do thinsg. Then when I went in yesterday to see my chiro for a scheduled appt from way before the parade, I mentioned my shoulder pain.
he ran two quick assessments on me and diagnosed me with a separated AC joint. it’s on the mild side, but it’s still a separated shoulder he said. and since them I’ve been way more conscious of it and I wonder - is it because he told me something’s wrong and I’m “pretending” because I’m hyper-aware of any sensation in the area? Or did it really just take until now for it to start being so bothersome?
--- another aside within aside within aside: I’m starting to feel suuuuper sleepy.
but then also, I’m high. I’m high on 50mg edible THC and 1/2 a 210mg joint. I should be pretty medicated by now, we can all agree. And I do feel a familiar stoner feel from the indica. Nice heavy body feel. But through it all, my neck, shoulder and lat are just screaming at me occasionally.
Especially my neck.
And my shoulder when I go to use my right arm - reaching, etc. OHHHHHH!!!! It hurts more today than yesterday because I did karate this morning!!!!! And I pushed (but didn’t hurt) myself a bit because I wanted to train with our guests.
ok.
I get it now.
I’m not crazy, it legit hurts. I’m not being a wuss, I’m being realistic. Okay.
SEE!?! WEED! REVELATIONS!
Dammit, guys, weed really is a therapist.
Have I even told you guys I’m a relatively new stoner? Like, just since it got legalized in Canada, and like, in November? So a lot of those like random “crazy-ass” stoner stereotypical phrases that I used to make fun of and think were like “oh, hurr durr, only stupid stoners who can’t think straight think like that” - they’re TRUE!!!! holy fuck, guys.
Hm, also, I think I am definitely going to be able to ride along and let the shrooms take me where they will next weekend. I’m ready for it. I’m excited for it. I feel like there will be so many more breakthroughs.
OH! yes, returning.
So, those ladies and talking about not even feminism, but just out in the open, within earshot of people on the street (fair, they’re just having an open air convo on their own personal balcony - everyone else is on the public sidewalk, the acoustics in this area are just very conducive), talking about statistics about women.
It’s so awesome that I live ina place where that can happen.
That I live in a place where a trans woman and her lesbian girlfriend can walk through the park. Where an openly lesbian couple, an openly gay couple, two best dude friends (and or maybe another gay couple, it’s not like they were dressed in rainbows or held hands or anything), a single dad with two kids, a single stoner, and all sorts of straight couples can just all exist alongside each other without anyone feeling pressured or attacked or anything.
It’s awesome.
Ok. My shoulder is really hurting. I know I’m not being a wuss with this now.
Though I have to say, as much as this fucking sucks, I still wouldn’t trade it for my experience as a martial artist. Now I know for next year, and I can protect my younger students now since I know that wet boards are so harsh on even my body - it’d tear out the shoulder of some of our younger kids. And I can experiment with drying the boards a bit more so they’re more brittle and won’t bounce back.
I think if I had been doing a single break in a controlled setting like a dojo instead of needing to set up in as few steps as possible and break and move on quick so you don’t hold up the route, I could have broken it. But as it was, it’s not possible for me to courteously summon up the concentration for a break like that on a parade route.
I’m gonna just relax for a while. Probably find some anime to watch. I wanted to draw, but I don’t think my shoulder’s up for it. I’ll have to try to remember the imagery.
It’s like, space-sci-fi dystopia future-wave sort of thing but with lower tech and more slum-like. cartoony. cel shaded. primariy colours: orange-brown, blue/purple like vaporwave, red, orange-orange, maybe some yellow/yellow-white.
guys, weed is magical. I love weed. I mean, I’m a highly functioning member of society. I live a frugal lifestyle, but I kill it at work, I’m becoming highly involved in my community, etc.
it’s crazy how there’s that stoner stereotype, but honestly I’d say that’s just the entertaining minority. the minority we all like to smoke along with. XD
ok, that’s a wrap on this part. maybe more, maybe not. dunno.
in anycase, fuck bum shoulders, stay chill, and see ya in space.
...srsly should I do audios?
