I had the realization that swapping BioWare main characters (and SO’s) still gets you to the same place but in wildly different ways
Like do I think Hawke and Fenris could have taken on the ME2 suicide mission successfully? 100% absolutely as soon as someone explained what the hell a space ship was. Do I think they would have burnt Cerberus to the ground the first time someone looked at Fen’s ears funny and just gone wholly fucking rogue? 1000%. Fenris would have found a way to rip the illusion man's throat out through his ass via hologram tops five minutes in.
Similarly I think Shep and Garrus would have handled Kirkwall but i do think the fight with the qunari would have happened so much sooner and would have ended with Shep full head butting the arishok and knocking his ass out cold. also Merideth would have gotten her ass sniped approximately five seconds after she was rude to Shepard for the first time

Since we haven't fully met the companions yet, and this is just going off solely on descriptions here's what I'm planning lol
Soft elf mage x Davrin (just tickles my brain in all the right ways, him having a baby griffon as a pet is actually jUST)
Cassia, Mourn Watch human mage x Taash (very opposites attract, cassia is kind of weird and careful and taash is adventurous/risk taker I love pairings like that)
Bellara with Caridad (reviving old oc lol) a mage Crow because the idea of romantic Bellara w Caridad who refuses to believe in love again is everythin to me OR a John Mark (another revived oc) who is a stoic Grey Warden warrior
You can tell I love opposites attract lmao

DWC 3: Velvet/Consequence
She'd felt alone, even then - amidst the velvet cushions and gossamer curtains - the sultry tones of one singer or another as intoxicating to the Elves gathered, as the drugs and alcohol that had no doubt begun making the rounds, as well.
La Bella Morte, in its heyday - why was it always at nightclubs? -surrounded by people, by the press of flesh, by the casual intimacy of others, that she felt... what, existential?
These people had known each other longer. Loved each other more.
Who was she to them?
Everyone she knew had owned everything around her - or was fucking someone who owned this place, or that business.
There was a sort of irony to being born a noble, and never once fitting into that space... while a convicted felon and enemy of the state slid right into their ranks - and their beds - with ease.
Lily had never been cut-throat enough. Never cruel, or petty, or self-interested enough to be like the nobility around her - and yet, by commiserating with the lowest in society, she had inevitably ended up tied up in noble's business again.
But if she'd learned anything from all of it, it was that you can't run from what you are - and that there's always consequences... eventually.
She could be patient.
