You hadn’t expected any of this when you left the house earlier.

Kyle promised to exercise restraint upon stepping outside under the guise of getting some air, to keep his hands and mouth to himself. Yet here you were, pressed to the cold brickwork of the club’s building, ignoring the chill for the heat of his mouth on your neck.

He hums at the breathy sound his teeth scrape out of you, smirking into your skin at how you wiggle against him.

“Kyle—fuck, I told you to not leave any marks.”

“‘M not,” he whispers, knowing he’s left at least three.

Your hands tighten in his jacket, cursing a second time as he works his way back to your mouth to smother a third.

No. You didn’t expect to be here, waiting on a taxi, and definitely not with him. You traded barbs for almost an hour inside, having both been dragged out by insistent, mutual friends. Arrogant, you’d thought as he introduced himself, practically eyefucking you and winking when you glared in response. Annoying, when he kept popping up, insisting that a ‘cute thing like you’ didn’t dress up to not dance.

What you really didn’t do was this—make out with strangers or acquaintances or whatever. And you definitely didn’t fuck them.

“Kyle,” you murmur, shifting your hands to his chest, flattening your palms to gently nudge him.

He pulls away with a soft groan to meet your gaze. His eyes are dark and half-lidded, his breathing labored. “You alright?”

You lick your lips, nervous.

“I—I don’t usually do this,” You start, quickly continuing the second he squints. “I’m not a one-night stand kind of person.”

Kyle swallows, then breathlessly chuckles. He nods. “That’s fine, babe. You don’t have to be. We can go for a round in the morning, too.”

Someone: what religion are you/what do you believe?

What I think: I’m somewhere between a soft polytheist and a pluriform monotheist. Maybe henotheistic. Sort of hellenic, but open to other pantheons. I like the idea of a Mother Nature type entity, but more in a panentheistic way. But also not mother as in female or woman, mother as in it’s the easiest way for my human mind to conceptualize a being that is everything and nothing.
