I can't wait to put out more work but seriously everyone, I see your support and your love and I can't put into words how grateful I am for your ideas about what I should write and words of love.

I don't think you should get to go on here and post about how the evil Chinese government influenced book award nominations for ideological reasons and then later reblog something that reveals that this was all a distraction to keep all the Chinese language ballots that got thrown out for racism reasons a secret and everyone is just supposed to give you a pass?

As one of the people directly affected (episode 6 of my show Sandman would have got enough votes to be on the Hugo ballot, but was mysteriously removed as "ineligible"), I've been posting and reblogging the information that we've had as we've been getting it.

One of the best things about getting to blog in real time is that as more information comes in you get to reblog that.

Originally, what we knew from what people were saying or implying was that there was censorship going on.

We knew that a book, two people and a TV show had been removed from the nominee list before the final ballot. But nobody was talking on the record.

Then one of the Hugo Committee broke ranks, leaked emails and spoke to Jason Sanford and Chris M. Barkley, who released this report:

The most shocking part of the story, from the leaks, is that Dave McCarty, the adminstrator, appears to have thrown out hundreds, perhaps thousands of Chinese votes, claiming that they were a "slate". (Something that he doesn't have the authority to do, any more than he had the authority to mark things inexplicably ineligible.)

My art got stolen, edited and used for commercial purposes

This store claims to be "official" Grian merch shop and oH BOI they are clearly not. The amount of stolen art on this store is simply owherwhelming. This is just an example.

They took my art, made 5 designs and slapped it on everything they could mass produce, resulting in more than 55 merchandise pieces with art they have no right on. And I am not even counting Grian Official (like TRUE OFFICIAL) mech, and some other artist I don't know, but clearly they haven't given their consent to this. Examples below.

I'm curious because I've noticed that I always tend for side/smaller characters as my #1 favs compared to the main characters. I've seen many people who also fall in love with that character who you see in the background of that one scene (you know who you are).

This is subjective to how you view the positions of the characters but if you want here's my loose definition of each:

Main: Story centered around them, majority of screen time and development. Majority of merch features them, typically has majority of fanworks. Also can includes main antagonist(s), even if screen time is more limited.

Side: Typically seen with the main character, but not the central part of the story. Can support/hinder the main character through story progression. Usually seen in merch if it extends past the main character(s). Usually good fanwork following.

Background: Medium-low screen time and story importance. Might show up for a small part of an arc, or small periods throughout the whole show. Usually low chance to see in merch, but still may have a select few and lower fanwork following.

One scene: Self explanatory. Can include characters that don't appear enough to be a background character.

Other: Characters that are only mentioned, speculated, etc. Maybe your favorite is the author notes at the end.

i think that paul is obsessed with physical touch. as in, actually obsessed. as in, he's not able to be in the same room as you without having his hands on you. but not only is it something he craves and feels like he's starving without, but it's also his way of showing you how much he loves you.

he doesn't always like to admit just how down bad he is for you, though. when you've had a bad day, paul's excuse is wanting to comfort you; with you settling in his lap, his hands caressing your thighs as he listens to your rants, the proximity in itself lessening your pain. when you're in a crowded space, paul blames it on needing to keep you safe; with an arm slung around your waist, a hand on your side and his fingers grazing your ribs, he guides you through the mass of people at the festival, just to make sure you don't get lost and no one tries to steal you away (he doesn't know how to explain the fact that he keeps his arm there even when you're out of the crowd, though).

but a lot of the time, he can't be bothered to be shy about his feelings. in the mornings, when you're a mess of yawns and tangled limbs, paul will wrap you in his embrace and never let go, fingers brushing up and down your arms. when a race goes particularly well, he wants nothing more than to lift you up in the air and squeeze you tightly to him. and late at night, when you're wrapped up in blankets together and the movie on the tv is long forgotten, he loves to trace his thumb along your features, down the slope of your nose and over the apple of your cheeks.

but his favorite act of physical touch? hand-holding, 100%. he'll be holding your hand at all times – while sleeping, cooking, driving, eating, walking, cuddling, you name it! there's just no better thing to him than the feeling of your fingers slipping between his, the backside of your hand under his thumb, getting to squeeze your hand in his...

of course, he loves receiving it just as much. nothing beats the tingle that shoots through his body when your fingers thread through his hair, your nails scratch down the back of his neck, or palms glide over his muscular shoulders.

but not only is it in the needy way that he wants your physical affection; your touch really means a lot to him. it's comforting, stabilizing, soothing. and most importantly, it's reassuring, like a physical reminder of how much you love him.
