Darington December One-shots 2: Dance

“Wait, wait, no. Hold on…” Darington pulled away from the other monster truck. A big rig hybrid with dark blue paint and a cyan lightning mark. “You’re supposed to move forward if I move back.”

“Sorry, sorry…” The larger monstruck apologized. 

Darington giggled and said, “it’s okay, Crusher. Now, let’s try again…”

Slowly, Darington guided Crusher forward in the little room they were in. Backwards he slowly went, looking up at Crusher’s nervous face as he taught him how to dance. Unfortunately, two clumsy trucks dancing wasn’t a good idea, and they both ended up falling. 

Crusher landed in front of Darington, and they both groaned as the pain of each other’s hold settled. Crusher stood back up and extended a tire to Darington. He asked, “are you okay? I’m sorry. I’m not good at this…” 

Darington gladly accepted the tire and let Crusher pull him up like he weighed nothing at all. Darington gave Crusher a sweet smile and said, “it’s okay! You’re doing better than my first time!”

Crusher sighed. “I can’t do this…” He muttered. “I’m going to make a fool of myself in the winter dance!”

“Hey, hey! Don’t say that!” Darington said. He held Crusher’s tire and said, “look. You’re not good now, but it’s still a few weeks away. With constant practice, I’m sure you’ll get better. That’s how I got good!”

Crusher sighed. “Okay…”

“Okay. How about this.” Darington held Crusher’s tires up and positioned Crusher to be the way he was positioned before. “I lead. And we’re going to take it slow and steady okay?”

Crusher hummed and adjusted himself to be more comfortable before he nodded. “Okay.”

Darington glided down the little room with Crusher, counting the steps as Crusher watched his tires from below. Surprisingly, Crusher was better being the one to be lead. He seemed to be more comfortable, that’s for sure. 

“See?” Darington grinned. “You’re doing better!” 

Crusher smiled down at Darington and said, “yeah… But isn’t this awkward?”

Darington gave him a smirk, then twirled the larger truck then dipped him. “Not at all!” he laughed. 

Crusher’s face erupted in a blush. 

Darington pulled him back up and they continued to dance.

Let’s start with Zeg so I can pretend I’m not biased for any character in particular lmao

My NOTP for them: honestly, aside from the obvious stuff, I don’t really find myself disliking certain ships for anyone that often. I’m usually down for whatever as long as it’s not illegal

My BROTP for them: Zeg and Darington. the sillies. the goofy guys. I love them

My OTP: Either Zeg x Starla or Zeg x Pickle. It’s a tie lmao

My second choice pairing for them: Zeg x Blaze. This is mainly because of Big Ant-Venture but in general they’re just really cute together. (Ironically I feel like this ship has more in-show evidence than my actual OTPs)

My fluffy pairing for them: Anyone honestly, Zeg just radiates the Good Vibes™️ and makes every ship he’s in wholesome

My angsty pairing for them: I can’t actually think of one and it’s for the same reason as the fluffy pairing one. He’s just too wholesome for this world. (admittedly if I rotated him in my head as much as I did other characters I could probably think of one)

My favorite poly ship for them: Zeg, Darington, Stripes, and Starla. They are so cute you guys

My weirdest pairing for them: I feel like if they actually interacted, Zeg and Gasquatch would be really cute together.

My angsty pairing for them: Maybe I’m just not as in to angst as I thought because ya girl’s struggling for this category fr. I guess Blasher generally has the most potential for angst with the whole “one’s a good guy and one’s a bad guy” thing.

The smell of hot cocoa filled the warm wooden room of the tiger. A TV portraying an old Christmas Movie was on while Christmas lights hung around the windows and around the Christmas Tree sitting in the corner. 

Stripes Willow, a tiger hybrid monster truck, stared out of his window in his tree house, his tail wagging happily as he watched the snow fall and snowflakes stick to the glass of his window. Beside him was another monster truck. He had a color scheme of white and blue and yellow stars printed all over him. Darington Dior. 

The two sat in comfortable silence with hot cocoa in front of them, on Stripes’s coffee table. It wasn’t Christmas yet, but just a normal winter. How lovely it was for the both of them to spend it together, in the comfy of the tiger.
