Yknow one thing I just realized for this versatile ship is that, another canon proof that they treat the other like nobody else does.

Like, most of the countries feared / are kind of scared of Ivan, and Alfred is one of very few nations (other than his sister Belarus) who isn’t afraid of Ivan. And he also often proactively approaches/interacts with Ivan casually.

And also, while most nations also are annoyed by Alfred’s obnoxious chatter, Ivan is one of few nations (if not the only one) who is shown in canon to praise that trait of Alfred, and even said it’s a positive thing.

You could interpret those as just passive aggressive sign or “fake” kindness but, it’s canon both of them often conceal their true emotion with cheerful face so, who knows when they’re actually lying or genuine.

Why do we have to segregate this ship fandom just bc of top/bottom preference tho..both are good. Popularity has nothing to do with it if it makes you happy.

I do understand the desperation of wanting to see things you love have more coverage. But doing so by only saying "this should be more popular than that!!" "Why is that more popular than this?" continuously is just like whining imo. The more productive way is to make fanworks or opinion post why your fave thing is great.

BUT dont do it while dragging other "more popular" thing down bc you will piss other people that way, making people less likely to consider your opinion. For example dont do things like "this is better because that thing sucks/overrated". "I dont understand why that thing is more popular than this".

For example my NOTP just happens to be the most popular ship in western hetalia fandom but I never try to make RusAmeRus more popular by making posts comparing it to the NOTP/dragging the NOTP down. I focus on elaborating why RusAmeRus is great because it's great in itself. Not because it's better/more superior than my NOTP bc shipping is all about preference so it's all subjective.

All in all we both love seeing aph america and aph russia together so why do we have to focus on difference of preference in seeing who top/bottom? Why cant we just focus on discussing why we love them together.

my mood was pretty decidedly sour all day today but guess what 16 hours after it started the day is finally over and I am five minutes away from zzzz. one positive thing: I have spent the last four and a half weeks feeling mostly totally normal apart from periodic waves of nausea or days when I felt really bloated… like if I didn’t know I was pregnant I would’ve just assumed I had a weird stomach bug because everything else feels so normal. but today I was sitting in an interminable meeting and I was like wow for the first time I feel pregnant. can’t really describe it but I just have this sense of fullness/slight heaviness that feels very different from being bloated… idk I just feel like I could tell that there’s something going on in there and it was a Brand New Sensation. anyway blah blah very exciting times also hard to believe I’m only eight weeks it feels like an eternity of waiting. makes me laugh to think some people manage to keep it totally secret for four MORE weeks after this phew. I was not built for not sharing every single thought and feeling I’ve ever had

RusAme has many ship names because their dynamic is versatile :)

Also here is a timeline if you wanna know its history:

1. Mutually Assured Destruction: back at 2009, it was mainly depicted as violent pairing (bc cold war perception even though it is not war with actual direct battle). Basically most fanworks were about them fighting or having sex in violent manner.

2. Mutually Assured Devotion: some times later, fans suggested the d is changed for Devotion bc hey, their history started great actually in imperial russian era. So there were some fluffy fanworks and some angsty fanworks for them. The famous fanworks for them for this era is https://the-chosen-end.livejournal.com/1263.html back at 2009-2010

3. Waiting for Spring: This is from japanese fandom HaruMachi (meaning spring-wait, so translated to waiting for spring). Idk if this started before or after mutually assured devotion. But I guess later, maybe 2011-2012? the term is finally spread in western fandom. And in this term RusAme is depicted in lighter and softer manner, with romantic/comedic tone.

4. Space Gays: This started back in 2014 iirc, when some fans suggested it bc Russia and USA have many space related achievements. And a popular tumblr blog who often created memes back then (who happened to ship RusAme as well) popularize the term and boom. Many fanworks are created based on meme. RusAme became moderately popular thanks to this term at western fandom.

Maybe Russian fandom has other names for this ship but idk.

And tbh this is main reason why I cant move on from this ship since 2013 lol. This ship has many dynamics and versatile, that is why I am still not bored with it even 10 years later, hha

I started putting together a list of all the hetalia ship names that are not [character name x character name] so if anyone knows some niches ones let me know so I can add them 👀

I'm admittedly more interested in fleshing out Horangi personality and relationship wise rather than pin down all the nitty gritty military stuff zzzz but knowing some of it does help at least assume some of his specific combat skills so consider this all the research I'm doing until they spoon feed us canon facts lol.

So I'm not sure what rank Horangi would have been by the time he joined ROK/13th Special Mission Brigade since I can't find a concrete answer on needed serve time or rank. They apparently joint train often with Seals and Green Berets and were modeled after the latter.

Other fun tidbits being that particular unit used to be referred to as "The Decapitation Unit" since they specialize in high-priority targets like politicians, etc. and apparently has the most intensive training out of all the korean special mission brigades. One of the requirements is a black belt in taekwondo or similar martial art. Typical training to operate under guerilla or single op. parachuting, special weapons training, blah blah.

We know like ALL the operatives mean business skillset and experience wise. but sheeeesh, Horangi. Slaaaay. Like, literally though.

My crushing life always sabotages me!! For real. So the first one is from my class 😶 and he's super smart, really cute and is into this one thing that I'm really into too!! How fantastic! But after watching him I saw that he wears a ring and after, you know, some stalking yeah he's definitely taken.

The 2nd one is from another course. Now, I remember seeing him during the first week there and thinking damn he's really cute!! After making some friends in class this other girl, my colleague, was talking about her crush on him to our group slsjskks and I was like well not like I was gonna make a move anyway. But!!! Turns out he's taken too 🫠

There's probably a lot other more, there's this one so far I have only seen twice, at the bus stop. He wears glasses /actually all three of them do!!/ And god such a cutie, no idea if he's taken or not, but with the way my lucky works if he's not he's gonna be soon. All the guys I end up liking get a gf after some time.

Don't know if this is worth noting, I feel like a teenager but I'm actually over 21, and definitely a late bloomer, still waiting to bloom!

Comic book reading blogpost X-FACTOR (1986) #46

I feel that, by insisting on powering through my chronological reading of X-Factor and being stuck on the Judgment War story arc, I might be inadvertently preparing myself for the A.X.E. event. Because that one Weezie X-Factor arc deals with both mutants and celestials.

I know nothing about Eternals (too lazy to watch the movie, and even lazier to read the comics) because I find them kind of.. boring? I actually dislike most cosmic things Marvel has to offer, and sometimes even their own terminology is confusing. Inhumans this, Kree that, the Eternals aren't the same thing as the Externals, etc. etc. And regarding the Celestials, all I know is that they exterminate things. Something something deviation.

Judgement War is like a fever dream and some attempt at giving you some moral lesson about accepting those who are different from us, cooperation, eugenics and blah blah blah. The usual X-Men plots but this time with a bunch of literal who tertiary characters and (some of) the O5 X-Men conveniently being amnesiac and scattered around the weird Earth (mutant society?) analogue.

I just can't bring myself to skip it, even if I'm being half bored to death. Not gonna lie though, the stuff with Angel/Archangel is good enough. The rest is ZZZZ.

That said, if A.X.E. doesn't bring Judgement War up at all I'll be a bit disappointed.
