HIII I just stumbled across this blog and I think it is SO nifty! I had never heard any of the proper terms for coat colours before and I am really enjoying learning about this as someone who loves to admire cats! Could you perhaps do my kitties’ phenotypes?

This is Ludwig, he was actually from a litter of feral kittens my friend caught on her property, but he was definitely born to be a lap cat because he is just a big lazy teddy bear and has been soooo docile & cuddly from day one

This is Frankie, a moody lady who likes peace and quiet. Her mother was an elegant cream tabby. She likes to act aloof and standoffish around the other cats, but she’s almost pathetically clingy when there are no witnesses around

Finally, this is Pigeon, one of their kittens! Her coat is almost like a 1:1 mix of her parents’ coats. She is quite young-looking and only weighs 3kg but she is actually 5 years old, she just decided to be small forever <3

My fiancé’s cat, luna ! We know she is a Norwegian forest cat mixed with Persian of some kind, but we wanted to know what coat she has : )

She is a total sweetums and her coat has a cool variety of patterns at certain angles- like one pattern looks like a skull, and the other from another angle is a heart !

I'm assuming the red cat is intended to be a Somali, so they would be a longhaired (black) ticked tabby with low white and high rufousing (ruddy), causing the red effect.

First is my brother-in-law Oscar, second is the cute cat that hangs out on the path I take to and from work (at a university, so she gets lots of pets).

Aw, Oscar's ears are so Ears! He seems to be a black spotted tabby! The sunbathing darling is a black tortoiseshell self, high white. They are both adorable!
