"Bad-jacketing" is when activists in a movement start making unsupported accusations and spreading unfounded rumours about other activists in the same movement, claiming that they are "plants" or "spies" or bad actors of some kind, or that they aren't who or what they claim to be and are really involved in the movement in order to sabotage it from within. Bad-jacketing is also a counter-intelligence strategy used most infamously by COINTELRPO to undermine the civil rights and Black liberation movements in the U.S. by attempting to instigate in-fighting within those movements. Most weeks, some goof writes to Antifa International, always pretending to be a different person from a different place, and then claiming that account X or blogger Y is secretly a nazi. They then back this up by making outlandish claims about the nazi stuff their target has allegedly been up to, but never with any supporting documentation, references, or information - expecting us to just trust that some Anon writing to us is on the level and not at all trying to undermine the movement via bad-jacketing. These attempts are ham-fisted enough for us to see through for what they really are - obvious attempts to sew distrust and discord in the anti-fascist moving via bad-jacketing. But this week's was especially funny for us given that the person they were accusing of cozying up to "neo nazis" and "neo colonizers" - kroptokindersurprise - IS A LONG-STANDING AND ACTIVE MEMBER OF OUR OWN ANTIFA COLLECTIVE! On top of that, trust us when we say that kropotkindersurprise wouldn't be messing with people in NJ or the University of Pennsylvania because they are thousands of miles away from and have zero connection to either of those places.
Nice try Anon, but you should maybe think twice about who you're trying to bad-jacket next time. Or better yet, just stop and find a more productive way to spend your free time.

Calling all book bloggers! Sign up today to get a review copy of my novel, "From A Youth A Fountain Did Flow." Here's a sneak peak of the first chapter.
1
SCARLET
With each step, the city sucks a little more light from me. I’ve become a shriveled fraction of my former self. My insides let sorrow and darkness take hold. It grips onto my heart and seems to weave a thread through my core, sewing torn and broken pieces together again. I want to stop walking and lay down to die. But giving up is only an option for the broken. I’m patchwork now. So, I keep walking.
I’m not sure why I follow the old woman and a boy named Marcus. We walk for twenty minutes in silence. I consider leaving, turning right when the others go left. Each step is moving lead. I am dead weight.
I should have called the police myself. I should have stayed behind with mom. When I think about what’s happened, it feels like lies slipping off my tongue to speak my truth out loud. A tightness rises in me, choking out my ability to ruminate rationally. I don’t think I would even believe it had I not witnessed it myself.
The pizza delivery guy crouched over my cat’s slain body. He looked up at me with inhuman black eyes.
I’m going crazy.
The scene plays over and over in my brain. Like a movie on repeat, I can’t shut off. I was backing out of the bedroom, knocking things over along the way, stumbling into Mom as I clamber over the top of the couch to get away from the black-eyed man.
Limp fur, black eyes, and Mom telling me to run.
I don’t let myself think past that. I don’t want to remember.
“Run.”
It is the last word Mom ever spoke to me. She looks at me with chocolate brown eyes and points.
“Run.”
Mom’s voice is calm, collected. It’s not a question.
“Run.”
It’s not a demand either. I want Mom to grab my hand and drag us out of the house together.
“Run.”
It’s a plea.
All I want is her, whole and perfect. To be in her warm arms one more time. Hear her voice whisper me to a safe harbor. Only I know one more time would never be enough. No amount of time would be.
Her screams still echo in my mind.
I can hear her begging for a savior, for someone to help her.
But nobody came.
My mom is dead, and it’s all my fault.

so ive seen some people mention a filter so do you know if there is a filter for asks and/or what it is? i curse a lot (curse of being a nero ig) and was worried my anons might get banished by the Tumblr overlords or someth idk
- nero
I have no idea what those people are talking about and they are probably crazy I mean neurodivergent /joke at the last part.
I'm not fucking tagging swearing and never will. If you're unable to handle an fuck or shit then you are too goddamn young to be on tumblr in the first place. The legal age limit is 13 years old.
However there is goddamn a 'no hate speech' rule in tumblr's own TOS. However this only applies if you are a minority, such as lgbt, not white, and visibly disabled. All of which depends on visible you make this on your blog. See also the trans women who have been harassed by staff and the community itself. See also all the Black bloggers who had been purged under the lies of fucking 'russian spies'. [holy shit who would believe that garbage?]
All the same, don't use slurs in the inbox as I'd rather not have white supremacists spam reports on this blog and get it permanently deleted. Yes, even ones you can reclaim. That means on shitfucking racial slurs or lgbt slurs.
ps please do not obfuscate words outside of typing quirks. I an neurodivergent and visually disabled. It's difficult to understand things like 'kermit sew slide' or 'd3//4th'. Just said commit suicide or death. It's fine There is no panopticon on tumblr.
pps yes the word bitch is tagged with slurs because technically it can be considered a gendered, misogynstic slur. It's easier to type 'slurs' than it is 'misogyny cw' which prompts anon confessors to ask what the fuck they said that was fucking misogynystic.
ppps FUCK

when fascists want to sew discord among leftists or convince them to self sabotage, the strategies involved are usually something like targeting groups with more power in a situation to get them to backstab the others, and also making sure to not do anything to push people away from what they're saying. black bloggers who endure harassment on here to the nth degree for pointing out anti-blackness and telling white gays that voting for biden out of their own self motivated reasons is bad are not russian bots, and i really fucking doubt any "russian bots" would be so well versed in antiblackness and how that affects black americans or especially black people from outside of america. If someone wanted to be a psyop they'd be fucking stupid to pick one of the most difficult demographics to fake on a site where the people most likely to listen to them only make up like 10% of the userbase iirc lol

30 day lolita challenge, day 2
I haven't forgotten about this. It's just that day #2 is "10 things you love about lolita" and this crap with my local community mods deciding that they rule the world and banning someone for not knowing their made-up redefinition of a term used for a very serious crime into accidentally posting selfies without asking has made me, you know, not really love lolita right now.
So let's go.
For those of you who missed the last post, I'm doing the 30 Day Lolita Challenge (in more than 30 days) that was created in 2011 by The Random Lolita. This series is tagged "20dollarlolita 30daylorlolita challenge" in case you want to black list that tag.
Okay.
One, I love the rules. I love having a really firm guideline on what elements of a look to build and wear. I spend a lot of time in normal fashion worrying about "this is wrong" but without anyone to explain why, so I love being in a fashion where it's more spelled out.
Two, I love the details. I like that, when you zoom in on any part of a nice lolita coordinate, there's more and more to look at. I like that our dresses are the high-resolution image and the rest of the world is a 3 megapixel JPEG.
Three, I love the absolute absurdity of it. I spent almost all of high school trying to not be weird, and I think that reflects in adult me by latching onto a fashion where no one outside the fashion will think it's normal.
Four, I love the way people react when they get to see a nice piece up close. Any time i get to show a dress to a coworker or friend who sews or does fashion, and they go, "I get why you're into this." It's just so nice.
Five, I love building things myself. I know how to make a dress, but when I make a really good lolita garment, I have a price tag to compare my work to. It's kind of discouraging as someone who sews when you spend $90 and 25 hours of work to make the same blouse that you can get at Walmart for $11, so the fact that a lolita blouse can be $200 makes me feel less bad about my work. I love creating my own lolita fashion for the same reason I love making my own coords. There's a set of rules, and I get to follow those rules, and I can do absolutely anything in the world as long as I follow those rules. The level of freedom you get when you go "You can do anything as long as it's X" is something that I think everyone craves in some form or another, so I love that I'm in a hobby where that's what it is.
Six, I love how people react to my clothes. I used to joke that it was because people see the clothes and judge based on that, so no stranger is judging the rest of you. You stand out, but that makes you more anonymous. Now, I say the exact same thing, but it's not a joke. I think being somewhat socially awkward often leads people to lolita fashion. I often joke that I'm not a person, and am actually either a time-traveling android or a hallucination caused by a sentient cloud, because it feels like the entire world got a How To Be Human manual except me. Well, when you don't have the manual, you make up the rules, and wearing lolita fashion out means that I take those rules away from everyone else, too. No stranger knows how to react to this shit, so it doesn't matter that I don't know what I'm doing, either.
Seven, I love the old Livejournal and Blogger and Wordpress blogs that are still around. I'm doing a lolita challenge that's 12 years old. When you read one of those, you're connected to them through time. Our lolita ancestors aren't too far away, but even if they've left the fashion, their wisdom lives on. So many people are still being helped by @lolita-tips even though the blog is no longer active. Connected to this is every Lolibrary post made by AmethystCitrine, who died in about 10 years ago (at the age of 25), but whose contributions to the lolita community are still used every day. We're connected to the people who've helped the lolita community before us, and we're connected to the future by the resources we create today. What people have given to the community will
Eight, I love Lolibrary. Y'all ever think about how absolutely insane it is that we have every single piece of the fashion that we can get our hands on documented and easily searchable? I don't know anything else that is like that. I love just looking through various years and trends. I love finding something online and immediately having access to what year it came out. Prior to Lolibrary, there was a site called HelloLace that tried to document all lolita fashion history, but it wasn't as thorough. Even though it's long gone, every time I see HelloLace links, I'm filled with massive nostalgia.
Nine, I love connecting with people through the fashion. Seeing people who are dressed in lolita, and having a secret kind of language like JSK and OP and knowing brands, sharing Taobao shopping services, all of that. It's an immediate connection with someone. I think this links back to socially awkward people using lolita fashion to help with social skills, but it's also a kind of connection that I just love.
Ten, I love how much everything is reused. Buying broken things and fixing them, restoring or reusing or recycling things. It gives us a connection to the past. Our culture of reuse before disposing of things isn't something I see so much in the rest of my life, so I love that I can retreat into it in lolita. Skills like how to fix and modify things are much more valuable in lolita fashion than in mainstream fashion. It's just very cool to me. I love finding things as class D on Wunderwelt or Closet Child and making them valuable to me.
I don't know if that's my top 10 things, but it's ten things. If tumblr would stop absolutely forcing things with 1) at the beginning into a really ugly looking list, I'd like that.
And with that bit of semi-forced positivity, it's time to go to sleep. Good night everyone.

Get to know the blogger game!
I was tagged by: @dinluke 💙 [blue heart emoji]
• Share your wallpaper:
My redflag is that my laptop always has the default and I haven't set my phone background since I got a new one last year
• Last song you listened to:
"bad reputation" by Joan Jett. @psionicowl has a CD and that was playing last time we were in the car together <3
• Currently reading:
"Devotions" by Mary Oliver! It's the first time I've read a poetry book before, and several months later I'm 90% of the way through it! I like most of her stuff I've read so far. I also finished "Time is the Simplest Thing" by Clifford Simak, which I really loved! It's a sci fi novel published in the 60's. I'm going to start "Borne" by Jeff VanderMeer. I like most of his other stuff I've read so far, so I'm looking forward to cracking it open.
• Last movie:
"Logan" (2017), which was a few months ago. I really prefer TV shows to movies most of the time. Logan is one of my favorite movies though
• Last show:
The last show I finished was "Shadow and Bone", and I'm currently (re)watching "Better Call Saul" (with an odd "House M.D." or "Psych" episode thrown in here and there)
• Craving:
Human companionship 😭[crying emoji]. Also artisan mills farmhouse cheddar crackers [link]
• What are you wearing:
A dark green short sleeve tshirt and brick red sweat shorts, and wristwatch (digital, black, and definitely not smart)
• How tall are you?
5 feet 8 inches
• Piercings:
I have an eyebrow piericing and an industrial piercing! I'd love to get my lobes pierced (again...) and maybe a second eyebrow piercing!
• Tattoos
I have the solar system across my left collar bone and a blackwork cloud with lightning coming out of it, and an eye through the center (almost an exact, just slightly cleaned up reproduction of a sketch I did!) On my left shoulder. I want to get a sleeve on that arm of cryptids and vines, and I'd love to tattoo my scalp some day with vines.
• Glasses/contacts:
I can only see 4 inches from my face without glasses, so I wear mine constantly! Sometimes I will get contacts during the summer to make outdoorsy activities easier
• Last thing you ate:
Those goodie girl thin mint knock offs [link]
• Favorite color:
Navy blue is my favorite, but I also love brick red, dark green, and yellow!
• Current obsession:
Having a sewing kick! Media wise I'm coming off "Shadow and Bone" lockdown and reigniting "Better Call Saul" brain. I have some lingering "Severance" and "Andor" brainworms too. "The Mandalorian" has been so disappointing lately that I barely care about it all.
• Pets:
I have a halloween moon crab named Candy Corn and an asian spiny toad named Breaker
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Favorite fictional character:
Fuck. Evil question. Castiel from "Supernatural" and Ahsoka from "Star Wars" probably
• Last place you traveled:
To work 😭[crying emoji]
No pressure tags!

9 Things to Know about Georgette Fabric
Get some extra tips on working with Georgette fabric for free.
What are 9 things you know about Georgette Fabric? This week I am doing a guest blog over at minerva.com reviewing McCalls pattern 7607. I use this particular fabric for the project. Be sure to give it a read, especially if this is a pattern that you have in your stash and haven’t used. I show you how it looks on a petite person in stripes. Personally, I am a fan of the look, but I am also biased…

Sort of inspired by the other idea, but Steph actually did die, and she was buried, but three/six months afterwards she came back.
Some bloggers were doing a six months anniversary thing and initially assumed zombie, attacking her hand with a shovel. On the second swing, Steph's hand grabs, it, pushes it into the bloggers stomach and uses it as leverage to get out.
She's very focused on her torso ideally not opening up and spilling her organs out everywhere cos coming back didn't fix 'everything'. She's somewhat hysterical, can't remember what brought her back, but also capable of wheedling a lot of info out of the bloggers, while subtly pulling bits of tombstone off and crushing them into dust.
Finding out the phone was doing a liveblog, she just uses a gust of wind and the crumbled stone to cover her 'escape'. Leaving the guys to run deeper into the graveyard looking for her, while she doubles back, grabs the shovel and leaves, shouting as she disappears into an alleyway "Sorry, East End Girls learn not to follow strangers anywhere!, even for doctors!" before vanishing.
Steph goes to a place she hid one of her old supply staches and uses it t patch herself up and trap an old bomb shelter or basement or what have you.
Meanwhile 'everyone' sees this, or more, lots of people do, there's investigations, plans and naturally Jason & Cass in their respective adventures flip out and race to Gotham. (Shiva & Cain are very upset Cass bailed on their fucked up family adventure with Mad Dog. That was all one thing right?)
Cass's motives are obvious, Jason's is that he knows Ra's will be after her and he is!
Bruce, Tim & Dick are on holiday and so are late to the party.
So, let's see. It's before Bruce dies, so Leslie isn't back in Gotham yet. There's no one in Batcave. Or Clock Tower. Or Batgirl's Cave. That's. Uh... That's okay. Fuck. Ouch. But - never fear! Stephanie can sew, and she can, in fact, sew herself together.
She can't go home, though, because with ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IN GOTHAM: LOCAL VIGILANTE THE FIRST TO RISE a lot of journalists and just busybodies hound Crystal, asking for a comment.
So. You know. Hiding it is.
She does phone her mom, but. Her mother is crying, afraid to believe, angry that someone possibly playing a prank. It doesn't go so well.
Stephanie goes to the only ally she knows she has in Gotham, still: Catwoman.
"Huh," Selina says, finding her in the living room. "Guess you also have nine lives. Or, eight now, perhaps."
"About that," Steph says. "I kinda can't go home, and with this stupid zombie panic, I can't just roam the streets as Spoiler. Or Robin."
"Oh? So what did you have in mind?"
"I'm so glad you asked!"
So Stephanie becomes Stray. Her costume isn't much like Selina's, though. It's a mask, cat ears, and gloves with metal claws.
If anything, you could say Cheshire could be cited as an influence, but the color scheme and the suit style are different. It's a dark gray jumpsuit that covers all her body to hide the scars but still allows free movement for parkour and fighting.
There are claws in boots, too, so Steph can literally go up a wall if needed.
Batgirl and Red Hood find her pretty much at the same time. It's not that they tracked her down, it's that she's robbing Black Mask's warehouse, where he's keeping the guns and other illicit goods he's planning to fund his operations with. If you take away his money, Black Mask really can't offer much else in a fight. He's pretty pathetic, actually. Steph again congratulates herself on making the right choice not killing him: she doesn't need it to bring him down. It's just her death put something of a hamper on the timeline when she can actually finish him off.
Well, not anymore!
"Smart," says Red Hood.
"You're the literary last person I want approval from, Hood, you didn't have any hangups about killing anyone and still didn't manage to put him down!" She says.
"Okay, this was uncalled for. I had other priorities. Now, do you want my help or not?" Hood says. "You may not like me, or approve of my methods, but I am excellent in robbing Black Mask of valuables and pissing him off."
"Okay," Steph eyes him warily. "You're on probation as my sidekick."
"Sir yes sir!" Hood salutes.
And then shoots a ninja down. Because, it turns out, that's the real reason he came back, to keep her safe from a cult.
"They have the means to resurrect the dead, it's literally fine!" Hood replies when Steph is like: probation is over, you failed.
Steph: "Do I look like I care?"
And then she's attacked again, but now it's by Batgirl, and it's with a hug, not a knife.
"Stephanie," she says. "Is that really?.. I don't understand..."
"Shhh, names in the field!" Stephanie says.
"Come on," Hood says. "I know your name. The whole Gotham knows your name."
"They don't know Stray's name!" Steph argues.
"Like it's so hard to deduce, after you crawled out of your grave and then, a week later, a new crime-fighter appeared. At least I managed to get through my resurrect without being live-streamed."
"Who's the guy?" Stephanie asks Cass, because it's obvious that she's missing something. Like whoah, is she not the only zombie in Gotham?
(if that's what she is; so far, no cravings for brains)
Cass looks at Red Hood and shakes her head.
"I have no idea. And I don't care."
"Okay, that one really hurt. Batman didn't talk about me? Really?"
His shoulders snoop. Steph feels kinda sad about him.
"Alright," she says. "You can come with us. But - no guns, they're loud, and we're trying for stealth."
"Yeah, okay," Hood says. |It's not like I don't have knives. Or aren't as deadly in hand to hand.|
"No deadly force whatsoever," Cass says.
"Try and stop me," Hood grins. "If I don't kill it's because I don't want to. Not because you told me so."
But he does, indeed, refrain from using guns or killing anyone. He says that he doesn't need to, the mission parameters could be achieved without it.
So it goes. They completely devastate Roman Sionis' resources. He can't pay his people. They turn on him. Tragically, Black Mask dies. They were busy saving other people from getting caught in the crossfire, so it's not like they're to blame.
They do round up the rest of False Face Society pretty quick, working together.
And then Batman, Nightwing, and Robin come back.
They're like: "Spoiler! Batgirl! You're working with a known criminal and a killer! We're disappointed in you."
Cass is like: "Not for the first time, for me. I believe everyone can change and redeem themselves. Don't you?"
Stephanie is like: "Well, he didn't actually kill anyone when he was working with us, because my plan was much more superior to his own and could be implemented without any murder. So there."
Red Hood: "Alright, so? I didn't change a bit. I am as I always was. Ruthless and ready to go where you all can't, do what needs to be done. I am. And now is my cue to leave."
Exit stage left.
But! Jason has to stick in Gotham, because League of Shadows is still lurking around. To get Batman and the rest off his back, he decides to just walk into GCPD district and be like: hi, yes, I'm Jason Todd. No, really. No, I really died. No idea. Also no idea. Well, maybe connected to Stephanie Brown - I also crawled out of my grave, it's actually why I found the courage to come back to Gotham, because I am not the only one anymore. Who can testify? I would think my father, Bruce Wayne, could. Or Alfred Pennyworth. Or Dick Grayson. Or Commissioner Gordon's daughter Barbara, she was tutoring me in Math, did you know?
And it's like. What Bruce and the rest of them can do? It is Jason. Denying it's Jason will only raise more questions.
But, also. If Stephanie was the only one to come from beyond the grave, it would be freaky. But now...
Besides, there's also the Court of Owls. They let themselves be known right around the time Jason reveals he's alive. And, what do you know: they're using people who are presumed dead - brainwashed and augmented humans. So, when Batfam uncovers this plot - Jason helps, and he almost doesn't kill anyone here, because in his interest that as many Owls as possible are alive to be dragged into the light of the public eye. To answer in the court of the law, yes, but also, because Jason plans to blame his and Stephanie's resurrection on them.
It works. If all of them, who are in custody, die under mysterious circumstances, who's to blame? Not Jason, he was here reading this book the whole evening.
Look. Batfam doesn't trust him. They are basically certain that he orchestrated the deaths. The irony is, he really isn't responsible. Again, it's in his interest that Owls are alive.
Some of the Talons, who were deprogrammed, weren't as kin on letting them live. Honestly, Jason gets it. So he doesn't say anything and lets everyone, including Cass and Steph who's like: I was rooting for you, how dare you! just believe what they will.
So. With the explanation out in the open, Ra's - maybe he doesn't believe fully in the story Jason is selling, but he's not as keen to waste resources, especially with the uprising in the League, led by his daughters.
Steph patches up things with her mom. Crystal is devastated when she realizes that the girl who called her was really her daughter. But Steph doesn't blame her. Anyway, she couldn't have come home before she figured everything out, so. She shouldn't have even called. "No," Crystal says, "you should have, I should have... "
There's a lot of hugging and crying and it takes time, but then life goes back to normal.
Damian arrives at the Manor. Because the League is going through a rough time, it's safer for him in Gotham. He bosses Jason around because, well, isn't Jason his mother's pet project? One of the reasons the relationship between Mother and Grandfather soured? And he's not even there, fighting with her?
Jason, who was kinda cut off from the League news for a long, long time, is like: what???
So yeah, he's leaving Gotham and going to Talia. It's not like she needed him much, but it's thought that counts, Talia decides. So Jason stays with her until everything is said and done. Ra's dies, Nyssa dies. Talia doesn't.
In Gotham, things move on. Stephanie becomes Batgirl. And also a college student. Bruce dies. Cassandra becomes Batman. Damian becomes Robin. Dick becomes a parent to a ten years old child. Tim becomes obsessed with trying to clone his friend, proving Bruce is in fact alive, and Red Robin.
Jason, when he finds out about Bruce's death, blue-screens for a short while.
"So," Talia asks him. "What are you going to do? I know Bruce left you a message. Are you going back to Gotham? Find out what he had to say to you... Take the mantle of Batman..."
"No," Jason says. "Cass got it covered. And Bruce had all the chances he wanted to say something to me while I was living at the Manor again. But... You know. I made him a promise, once. If something like what happened to me, happened to him, I would have..."
He trails off. Then looks at Talia.
"I guess I have an evil god to kill."

Finally, an Easy Solution to Repurpose Your Old Jeans
I finally found an easy solution to repurpose an old pair of jeans I purchased years ago. Along with sewing my own clothes I like to go thrifting from time to time. It really is a fun pastime that I highly recommend everyone try at least once. Hitting the jackpot with a find online is not always possible. Places like Poshmark do not give you the option to try on the clothes before you buy them so…
