“thank you. it means a lot to me. i hope you know i wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.” after all, he’d only taken interest in theater because it was something that she was very passionate about. he just wanted to impress her. “i’ll be on TV this sunday, can you believe this? it sounds crazy when i say it.” he wonders if she intends to watch it, and if she does, what her boyfriend will think of that. right. her boyfriend. “i saw your comment on instagram, made me smile.” but he never responded to it, only hearted it, and now can’t help but feel silly. “oh, you create magic on stage. how do you do this? you open your mouth and people listen, hypnotized, unable to take their eyes off of you. i don’t know if you saw it, but you pointed a finger at that one poor kid and he nearly fainted on the spot.” it doesn’t surprise him one bit, though. she’s always been so crazily talented and could bewitch everyone in the room. smiling as he listens to her talk about their road to nashville, he can’t keep the look of pride off his face. “i’m so proud of you, too. look at you. a star in the making. are you planning on staying here a little longer? playin’ a few more shows?” he’d love to come to one more show before he leaves, would love to see her again. perform. he’d love to see her perform again. “mm, what’s that thing you’re drinkin’?” he asks, claiming the stool beside her and politely asking the bartender to give them two such baskets and double fries, insisting on paying for their whole order and tipping generously. “since when new you into… what’s that? vodka?” there’s no judgement in his voice, just genuinely surprise.

“billy!?” the brunette exclaims, still wildly doe eyed and in DISBELIEF that’s really, truly him. it’s so odd seeing him in real life, instead of just in pictures she’d see time to time on his social media. odd he’s at this same location as her. her body pulled into his arms from where she sits an even more surreal experience, nose diving into his neck and that homey scent that sticks to him engulfing her senses, the neck of her guitar strapped to her back hitting him in the cheek while her palms clutch his shirt. “so hard to believe it’s you. and your hair.” a hand has to reach up, touching the back of his head, fingers feeling dark curls— unable to stop the involuntary smile that spills over her olive features when it reminds her of the person she once knew. “your show.” that is right… she did see that on instagram and remembers leaving a small ‘congrats🤍’ on the post. even though she wanted to write more, ‘congrats cowboy. you were always meant to be one🤍’. but it wasn’t her place and it didn’t feel right so she left it simple. because despite how much he’s hurt her, she’d never snub him accomplishing something so huge. even if she felt he was letting it give him the big head, too. “i saw that. i’m so proud of you. how crazy to wind up here with me.” she spoke again in disbelief. “and thank you, that means a lot to me you’d say that.” that she hasn’t changed and that her song was good. “well, we’ve been playin’ in small places for awhile and made it on up here to the city,” she explains, turning in her seat once the moonshine is slid to her. thanking the bartender before taking a big sip, features twisting and turning at the flavor but she’s eager to chase after the buzz. “oh, yeah! can i get a basket of the grilled tenders?! nashville hot sauce on the side an’ the sweet potato fries, please.” lucy gray calls him back over before he can leave, remembering how vital it is she gets some food. “sure thing,” she hears him confirm over the music before he goes off to get that order in.

As someone who is very much into (indie and niche) fragrance and Pirates of the Caribbean, here are my scent picks for some characters absolutely nobody asked for:

Elizabeth Swann: Juliette Has A Gun - Vanilla Vibes (Sea salt, natural vanilla absolute, orchid absolute, absolute brown musk, bezoin absolute, sandalwood, tonka bean)

This is basically just a salty vanilla perfume and I’m all here for it; it’s beachy, light and totally pre-Pirate King Elizabeth.

For more of an indie choice, I’d pick Death & Floral’s “I could never stay long enough on the shore” (sand, salty air, smoke, cold coastline). It’s been a while since I’ve smelled this one but it feels fitting. But tbh, any white floral scent would also fit CotBP Elizabeth - so maybe something like Cloon Keen’s Lá Bealtaine.

Pirate King Elizabeth would absolutely rock something challenging like Beaufort’s Terror & Magnificence (birch tar, black pepper, saffron, incense, tobacco, papyrus, haitian vetiver, myrrh, labdanum, benzoin and pebbles).

Will Turner: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Asleep in the Deep (black plum, sea salt, opium tar accord, labdanum, and indigo benzoin)

Basically the dark and heavy counterpart to Elizabeth’s Vanilla Vibes, truly smells like you’re on the Dutchman in between realms.

Jack Sparrow: For Jack, I feel like anything remotely boozy with rum notes works, but if I had to name one scent, I’d pick Stranger Perfumery’s Cigar Rum (raisin, dried fruits (prune and cherry), rum absolute, mandarin, amber, tobacco, oakwood, vetiver, resins, labdanum absolute, seaweed absolute). Maybe layer that with a dirt single note or Fantôme - Bune (damp subterranean air, nagarmotha, smooth cave walls, davana, a cold marble altar, & glittering green dragon scales) for authenticity lol.

Hector Barbossa: Solstice Scents - Headmaster (Apple, bourbon, oak, cedar, pipe tobacco, applewood, amber, spices)

I just felt like I needed to pick a spicy, woody scent with apple notes in it. But any dark aquatic works too.

James Norrington: I associate James with any light aquatic or clean scents (at least when he’s not in his Scruffington Era), so I’d choose something like Solstice Scent’s Gulf Breeze (Saltwater, sand, seashells, sea oats, rain, ambergris (vegan accord).

Cutler Beckett: Histoires de Parfums - 1740 (bergamot, mugwort, patchouli, coriander, cardamom, cedar, birch, labdanum, leather, vanilla, elemi, helichrysum)

Idk, this is just giving off Cutler Beckett energy. It’s boozy, it’s rich, it’s dramatic.

And somehow The House on Widow’s Hill (brandy, old oak paneling, dusty thick carpets, a thread of incense & a roaring fire in the hearth) by Pulp Fragrance also fits. That one’s basically brandy, smoke and dusty carpets in a bottle. On second thought, that might also work for Papa Swann.

I also feel like a tea scent would suit Beckett, but only if it’s a bit heavier, so maybe something like Gris Charnel by bdk (fig, black tea, cardamom essence, iris absolute, bourbon vetiver, indian sandalwood, tonka bean absolute). …But I haven’t smelled that one in a while too.

Davy Jones: Zoologist - Squid (Pink Pepper, Solar Salicylate, Incense, Black Ink Accord, Salty Accord, Opoponax, Ambergris, Benzoin, Musk)

Pretty self-explanatory. On my skin, it’s very musk-forward though.

Ian Mercer: Beaufort - Tonnerre (smoke, gunpowder, blood, brandy, sea spray and citrus)

…Yeah, I guess that one’s also pretty self-explanatory.

Yup, that’s it. Make of that what you will.

A/N: i said i was gonna make a headcanon post about trigun and perfumes didn't i 🥸 i had fun actually putting my frequent times smelling the perfumes at the Macy's perfume section to wORRKKKKKKK,,, have i smelled all of the perfumes listed before? yes, my friends and I are fiends for perfumes hehehe so we usually gift them out for birthdays or holidays. maybe i'll make another post that includes knives, roberto, zazie, etc. but I'll have to go perfume smelling for them. Enjoy!~

Vash The Stampede

Dior Sauvage Elixir

top notes: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Grapefruit

-Vash would totally wear this perfume my top headcanon

-I can see Vash not being a fan of overall too sweet scents, but just a tad bit.

-This is his main perfume to any occasion,,,,loves that people can recognize he was there by just his smell heellloooooooooo? o//o

-He runs through this like crazy, but he does have the mini version!

My notes: This perfume starts off with a woody, musky and earthy scent at the first spray but as it settles, it leaves a very honey-like faint after-smell that makes the knees jelly. How wonderful for the Humanoid Typhoon! pheromones whoooooo :P

Nicholas D. Wolfwood

Versace Man Eau Fraîche

top notes: White Lemon, Rose Wood, Carambola

base notes: musk, amber, sycamore wood

-I can see Wolfwood lean more towards the woody yet aromatic/clean scents.

-Settles in well with his skin, giving the perfume a better twist with his own smoky/natural musk scent and the clean/fresh scent of the toilette mixing.

-Sprays once in a while, he's kinda broke :/ but it's okay! The bottle is a pretty nice size so it lasts a pretty long time!

-I didn't give him any deep musk scent bc mf already kinda has that smoker scent he's on his 100th pack atp

My notes: This scent delivers a faint musk smell but honestly it kinda reminds me of what the woods would smell like but amplified 2x if they were by a waterfall.

So moreover, if water smelled like a man. But honestly, I like this scent, it doesn't burn the nose like other man colognes/perfumes. Touché Undertaker!

Meryl Stryfe

Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Giolia

top notes: Lemon, Jasmine, Cedarwood

-Meryl is more of a fresh scent kinda person and this is that scent.

-It smells like peace tbh, and Meryl finds the fresh airy scent to it very comforting in the sudden chaos and trouble that always surrounds Milly and her.

-gets the smell of gun powder out of her nose palette.

my notes: if you're into very fresh scents that remind you of the nice scent of the sandy beaches or honestly like summer you'll like this one! Personally, this kinda reminds me of a freshly cut green cantaloupe(very specific hehe)

The tint of jasmine and lemon touches when you smell it give the calming effect it focuses on. Very Nice! Has to constantly rebuy bc she loses the bottle often

Milly Thompson

YSL Black Opium The Original

top notes: Black Coffee, White Flowers, Vanilla

-TOTALLY A MILLY SMELL

-LEGIT SMELLS LIKE A SOFT CARAMEL CANDY

-It's a very warm and sweet mix that I think she'll love smelling on her clothes and just generally the tint of vanilla in it.

-Honestly smells like flan,, or caramelized sugar :)

-tbh its my next perfume purchase They say it has coffee in it but it doesn't smell like it.

-I was torn between this perfume and the pink or green Burberry Her for Milly (the pink one smells like sweet strawberry yogurt and the green one smells like those lil containers of jellies that had little fruit pieces in them if you know you know) yes i have both of them

-But i found this to be a more fitting smell for her!

-Steal her jacket and it smells like Vanilla extract in the best way

My Notes: With a very caramel and vanilla smooth smell, this perfume leaves behind quite the scent of sugar and spice! A very sensual yet playfully smell of autumn! Nice taste Milly!

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

26 at the moment.

2. What’s your total AO3 wordcount?

722 309. I’d have thought it would be more considering how long some of mine seem to get, although looking at other people’s answers to this meme, I guess 26 isn’t really a huge number!

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

My first fic ever was a little Lord of the Rings experiment for an exchange thing. But my first proper dip into writing for a fandom would have been Breaking Bad, where I wrote for a couple of years before it felt like my ideas had run their course. Then there was a Kingsman fic, and then Mag7 where - similarly to BrBa - wrote feverishly for a couple years until it felt like the well had been plumbed. Oh yeah and then jumped into the Marvel fandom to drop one Marvel fic before immediately jumping back out lol.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

So the Marvel fic has officially just become my most kudoed fic, which is kind of hilarious considering it was a SUEZ! CANAL! FIC! But in my opinion, a good one lol. So yeah, it would be 1. The SamBucky Suez Canal fic, 2. The Kingsman soccer AU, 3. Desert Sand, 4. Chisolm’s 7, and 5. Blue Devils. That last one surprises me, but I guess it was an early one for the fandom, so I think it became an automatic read.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not

I do! It’s possible I’ve missed some here and there, but generally I try to get them all.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I don’t think any of them! While my fics definitely include angst, ideally it’s still in a fun way, or at minimum, bittersweet? I don’t generally want the last taste in a reader’s mouth to be angst. ALTHOUGH. I really really wanted to include an epilogue to the selkie fic that’s kind of angsty. Basically the story would end, but then many years later we’d see an old man get off a bus on the coastal road, carrying a suitcase. He’d be wearing a suit, clearly back from many years travelling. He’d walk to the coast, back over a hill where there’d once been a little fishing cottage, long since torn down. He’d walk down to the beach and into a little cove where he’d kneel by the water he knew better than anyone. Opening the suitcase he’d take out a box which he’d then empty into the ocean, ashes spreading across the water. He’d take out a folded bundle of cloth and wrap it around his shoulders. Then he’d dive into the water, disappearing into the waves, leaving nothing but an empty suitcase behind him, and a folded pile of clothes.

I loved that ending but I’m still not 100% sure if it was keeping in tone with the actual ending, so I left it out. Maybe one day I’ll go and add it as en extra chapter snippet.

7. Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I don’t know if I’d call them ‘crossovers’ exactly, although I did stick Goody and Billy into a Some Like it Hot ‘jazz band on a train’ situation, and I also did a Breaking Bad one that used some elements of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Those feel more like ‘AUs’ though. I like situational crossovers, but I’ve never been super into fics where characters from different fandoms actually interact.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Thankfully not. The most off-putting comment I’ve gotten was someone who - despite being very complimentary - decided to make a full-on laundry list all the anachronisms in a chapter lmao, like what. Stuff like "interesting that this character used this expression when XYZ would only been invented 10 years later!” etc. I’m positive they didn’t realize how it came off, but still, that was kind of hilarious in its.....obliviousness lol. It was special.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I do. And I guess I’ve done the full spectrum of ‘fade to black’ to ‘describe every bead of sweat in pearlescent detail’. It really depends on what the fic calls for! I’ve done some I’m quite proud of tbh, but there are others I’d like to go back and have another stab at, just because they felt kinda cookie-cutter.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of!

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

There’ve been a couple! I can’t remember which ones specially, but I had some people asking to translate some Breaking Bad ones, and I think a Mag7 one too. I remember someone messaging to ask permission like “We love your fics in Russia!” and that was a very sweet and wild thing to hear.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes, I wrote one with @yoporkchopsandwiches! Our Victorian opium dens Breaking Bad AU lol. I was just thinking of that recently actually and remembering how fun it was to read what the other wrote! We plotted out most of it together, and then took turns writing chapters or scenes. But of course while writing you come up with other details or ideas, so we’d then present the new chapter to the other with all the new bits added. And it was so fun to read what the other came up with like ‘omg no way didn’t see that coming/good idea!’ and then picking up their idea from there. In that sense it was almost like improv but for writers.

13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

That I’ve written? I think I’ve had the most fun with Goodnight/Billy, partly for the time period, partly for the dynamic, but mostly for the plausibility. While I really enjoyed writing BrBa, it felt more like it came from enthusiasm for the show, not the central ship lol. Don’t get me wrong, the chemistry and its potential was extremely fun to write in a fic setting, but I don’t find I actually shipped it while watching the show itself. Whereas it’s been nice with Mag7 to write for a ship that’s actually....more believable lol. 

14. What’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Ugh I can’t beLIEVE I have an unfinished fic up on ao3 lol it haunts me. I was sure I was done with Goodnight/Billy, and then early quarantine last year I had a train robbers AU idea, so I posted a couple chapters. But I don’t think my heart was super in it, I was more just messing around with the idea. I don’t want to delete it, but I’m also not super motivated to finish it haha, but we’ll see what happens. But tbh I like the poem summary better than the fic itself:P

15. What are your writing strengths?

Plotting, keeping things moving, and making stories feel visual maybe? They’re almost all movies in my head anyways, so I think I have good instincts for ‘cinematic moments’.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I think I’m a little lazy, and also ‘end-product oriented’. In some ways it’s helpful to picture the whole fic before you write it, but sometimes it results in some scenes feeling slightly slapdash because I’m just trying to get them out to move onto the next. Like ‘everyone did everything I wanted to in this scene? Great, next.’ I could stand to ‘stop and smell the roses’ more while I write, and actually see what else I can do to improve a scene.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

All for it! Depends how it’s done though. I personally find long scenes of dialogue where you have to constantly jump down to the author’s notes for the translations to be distracting. I like when it’s integrated more naturally where actual translations aren’t super important. Like in River Grit, Billy overhears this little exchange between Goodnight and his childhood nanny:

“Ah c’est vrai, mon petit Bonsoir! J’en peux pas le croire!” she cried out and laughed as she embraced Goody. Billy realized with a start that he actually recognized one of the words: ‘Bonsoir’. Goodnight. (insert brief flashback of Goody teaching him the nickname) / “Ma Serafine,” Goodnight said with a laugh. “C’est vrai que tu ne vieillis pas. Tu vas me rendre jaloux, heh?” / Billy had no idea what Goodnight was saying, but he sure as hell recognized Goodnight’s tone for flattery, and it was confirmed when the old woman laughed and smacked his arm.

What they’re actually saying is: “Oh it’s true, my little Goodnight! I can’t believe it!” / “My Serafine, it’s true you never age. You’re going to make me jealous”. But it doesn’t matter because this fic is from Billy’s POV so it’s about how he experiences the language around him, which is why I wouldn’t have included a translation for the reader. If you understand it then it’s a bonus, but the words themselves aren’t really the point!

Hmm for Mag7 I’ve always liked River Grit and love how it turned out. I also think Ashes feels very complete as a fic and I liked the flashback format. And while it’s not my favourite fic, in hindsight I’m impressed with the Kingsman football fic and how I had to write about 5 different soccer games and make them all feel different and exciting, and not just some variation of ‘He kicked the ball!’ I’m really pleased with how those sequences all turned out.

worst quality: Their brutal pragmaticism tbh- it’s a side effect of living for so long and seeing such dramatic and drastic changes, but they’re very good at doing whatever it takes. They’re a little bit more at peace/resigned with this than someone like, say, India.

What they smell like:

Roman, of course, usually smells lile one of his many expensive colognes. Even after a shower or coming home from the gym, there’s always a faint trace of one of them on him somehow. As if years of using them have left him permanently stained.

While there are definitely times when the kids are all little that bunny smells baby barf, she normally smells sweet. Her favourite perfume is black opium by YSL but she also has some old favourites that she’s loved since high school. I’m talking about those old ass Victoria’s Secret body sprays here guys. Like bunny definitely has a couple bottles of lovespell lying around.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc):

I wrote a whole thing about their sleeping position here but in terms of schedule, it varies on how old the kids are, how many times they have sex, nightmares (kids or theirs), if they’re fighting because then they’re both restless, and how early romans meetings start the next day.

Roman definitely gets nightmares and they can get pretty rough. Since they sleep so close, it def wakes bunny up and then she gets him up, repositions them so that he’s laying on her chest, and strokes his hair/forehead softly until he calms down and can fall back asleep.

Bunny also totally makes Roman get his peachy ass back in bed whenever he tries to get out. Like the moment she feels him start to leave the bed, she literally reaches out for him, grabs onto whatever part of him she can and mumbles something along the lines of “no come back. It’s still bedtime”. To this he just checks his schedule to see when his first meeting is, sighs, and gets back in bed telling her she only has another hour or two before he really needs to go.

What music they enjoy:

Bunny loves pretty much anything with a good beat. She likes stuff that gets her energy pumping and makes her want to dance.

She also has some favourites that are a bit slower when it fits her mood a bit better , like post Malone, Lana del Rey, Daniel Caesar.

And then of course she has the classics that she adores.

Roman loves LDR, mainly because bunny plays it 24/7. He also likes the darker classical music sometimes. His favourite genre is probably alternative rock.

Bonus: although neither of them actually enjoy it, by the time their on their 4th kid, they know every song to every Disney movie by heart.

How much time they spend getting ready every morning:

Roman - 1 hour and 15 minutes. He spends 45 minutes on his hair alone.

For bunny it depends on the occasion. If it’s on the daily or just to run errands, probably the same as Roman (including a shower but not including the many interruptions from the kiddos)

If they're going out then probably around 2 hours.

For anything, formal bunny would have her hair and makeup done so it could potentially take even longer.

Their favourite thing to collect:

Roman likes to collect expensive limited edition bottles of whisky. Bunny does the same with really old bottles of wine.

They are both travel bugs and bunny starts a family tradition where they take at least one picture all together at every location. She puts them all on one of those digital picture frames and has it in the living room.

Romans absolute favourite thing to collect, though, is based off his own tradition he starts with bunny.

So we all know they met at a club and went outside into an alley to fuck like ... well ... bunnies.

That becomes his thing. Whenever they travel, wherever they go, Roman Snaps a pic of them fucking in an alley.

I’m not sure what I made tbh,it was 1 AM

A quiet day it was for the oriental duo,the darker and shadier streets of London are completely silent,not even a single peep was heard that day. Fog was surrounding the area like small translucent clouds outside,similar to the smoke that’s barely absent inside the local opium den,as if they were Christmas ornaments that people tend to forget to clean up for months.

Of course,if it wasn’t for Lau’s habit to smoke up a whole stash per day,oxygen wouldn’t be so hard to find in the already cramped and slightly humid room.Then there they are,both of them comfy on the slightly worn out sofa,just lounging around with Lau’s head on Ran Mao’s very exposed lap as she slowly run her hands through his short dark hair.Of course,considering on the way they sit on each other,they’re nothing more than mere co-workers,in fact,Lau thinks of Ran Mao more of a little sister than a lover material.

Anyways,a slow day like this is highly appreciated by the two,it may not seem like it but even *they* have days where it’s packed full of work,it’s just that being a drug dealer just made it look like he’s living the easy life,*which they obviously don’t*.It’s the things like the people who are in debt and new stock shipments,*not to mention having to be sneaky in placing the new shipments* that are quiet bothersome but unfortunately something they have to go through almost on a daily basis.Lau’s surprisingly great acknowledgement in these kind of stuff helped them in surviving and not getting caught by the local law enforcers. “I’m glad that we have a whole day dedicated on doing nothing today,don’t you,Ran Mao?” Lau finally spoken up after what seems like hours of silent bonding as Ran Mao nodded in agreement with a soft ‘hm’.

As if on queue,men in the same uniforms bursts into the door like a bunch of angry bulls making them jump off the couch in shock.Furnitures were broken,stashes and more stashes of opium were confiscated,girls were screaming and begging to be let go but alas were ignored by the tyrannical trespassers.Lau managed to fight his way out of their grip and helped Ran Mao out of it too,but only to be bashed on the head with a porcelain vase,where it smashed and injured his head,making him black out not long after their mini victory.

The last few moments he saw before the black out was nothing mere than blurs of Ran Mao’s struggles and faint echoing of her pleads..calling for him.

*Oh dear,she never looked so afraid before.*

*I thought we’re on the clear this time,I thought whatever happened in China stays in China.*

*Clearly I must’ve not seen this through,I was blinded by the greed of my own success here and all the beautiful maidens that surrounds me whenever I sit like a bunch of thirsty leeches.*

*Now every bad deed that I made in the past until the current present...*

*Every bad deed I made Ran Mao do..*

**It’s all coming back to us.**

*I was delusional to think that England was a safe house for me to sell dreams to the ones who crave them.*

*To think that we could escape this time.*

**To think it was home.**

*Turns out we were just twisting ourselves in our already tangled up rope,we just didn’t notice it until it finally starts to leave a rash on our delicate skins.*

*But for now..I guess this is where our story ends.I never pictured it like this,my own empire,the world I’ve created for myself,a safe bubble for the both of us crumbling down right in my very own eyes.*
