Some of yall ain't ready to hear this (partly because I'm sleep deprived) but Asta is literally disabled in the Canon premise and it IS contextually important.
Asta, being manaless, is literally not able to do many things which in BC universe can be considered basic household skills or if he can, the way he has to do it would culturally be seen as a more roundabout and tiring way of doing it.
Broom Flying is a literal main form of transportation in Clover, similar to a bike and Asta cannot fucking use that. My midget king had to fucken experiment with his sword to turn it into a mobility aid to fly like everyone else. Hell, we get it in the first episode that any form of chore that Asta does "normally" (as per the audience) is something that Yuno can do in quick succession due to his magic. Is magic picky on what you can do with it in terms of household duties? Yeah, but every magic has SOME form of relevance in the household.
Antimagic can't count because its only useful against malicious mages or traps which, all in all, can't really offer a lot of flexibility. Hell, Asta could only figure out how to fly outside of Black form 2 whole ass years after he got his grimoire. And even then, NONE of Asta's swords are creation or healing spells, so Magic Knights technically IS the only place he can utilise his grimoire in.
Communication devices and other mana tools, chores that, by magic standards, need magic to be done efficiently and quickly, even FOOD (Heart Kingdoms coconut water being only sweet if you have high mana).
Even the poorest peasant in the boonies has mana. Asta does Not.
And even if he could get stronger and adapt antimagic to straight up anything, Devil Binding ritual and recent arc in Hino shows us that, physically, there are some limits he can't break. Actual, BIOLOGICAL, burnout and lack of professional tutelage/help reasons.
It also puts a lot of his social/inter-political challenges in a bigger depth and with more nuanced realism.
The nobles refuse to acknowledge him as a possible candidate for being the Wizard King because they see him as physically incapable of holding up the mantle, much less actually being one. The court throws him under the bus because its much easier and comfortable for them to sacrifice one orphan who can't even use mana than to make a massive rift between the population and the military when the kingdom is vulnerable, since they believe they wouldn't be losing anything. Hell, most of the captains don't even acknowledge him as an asset until Asta straight up busts his ass/arms with massive feats.
It also adds more value to his relationship with the Black Bulls and Yuno. Yuno DOES acknowledge Asta as a rival, and a very serious one too. His lack of mana isn't a reason for Yuno to be condescending or dismissive of him.
Black Bulls are also, in some part, similar to him and as such, inspiring them to be better as well (Noelle's mana control difficulties, Finral's spell execution and energy consumption issues, Henry's curse, everyone's literal trauma holding them back).

Black Clover Theory
Okay gotta credit where credit's due, so please check out this video by Plot Armor: SHOCKING BLACK CLOVER SECRET! THE TRUTH ABOUT LUCK'S MAGIC! - Black Clover
But to summarize the theory, it's that Luck is the illegitimate son of a noble, most notably Charlotte's father, which is supported by 1. Luck's incredible power that has him rivaling most captains in terms of strength, but also 2. That Luck and Charlotte were possessed by elves Charla and Lufulu who were siblings. And we know from Drowa and Eclot who are reincarnated to be Gauche and Marie that as siblings are likely to reincarnate again as siblings. Also Charlotte and Luck look alike, but Luck's mom also was blonde-haired and blue-eyed, so that doesn't say much, but more importantly their grimoires have similar motifs. Charlottes:
Tumblr media
Luck's:
Tumblr media
Both are blue, with a yellow border, featuring a floral/vines pattern. Which for Luck I always found somewhat odd, especially the grapes. But something to know is that, according to Fine Art Restoration, grape symbolism is "classically symbolic of the ancient god Bacchus, who was known for his debauchery." Which kind of matches the theory that Luck could be a bastard son of a noble. but taking a closer look I did breifly wonder if they were not grapes, but raspberries, which are an aggregate drupe conveniently related to roeses. But looking at the leaves on his grimoire, I still like they are just grapes. As these are are raspberry leaves:
Tumblr media
Versus these grape leaves:
Tumblr media
Which look more similar to the leaves on Luck's grimoire and other common depictions of grape leaves the longer I did some reasearch:
Tumblr media
(that and raspberries don't grow on vines). So definitely grapes! But I don't think that debunks the theory, if anything the symbolism of something that both symbolizes debauchery and wealth if anything supports it. And also somewhat Luck's mother's behavior, which Plot Armor says themselves. (Also would be really funny if the Black Bulls just have another sibling of a captain ™ in their ranks lol. Noelle, Asta, and Luck should really start a club).

Asta is most likely a virgin-born savior of the world.
I said Richita might’ve had him from asexual reproduction before from all the magic she has absorbed but there’s a more eloquent way to put it😅

I’m desperately trying to figure out if Langris and Finral are just *under* a year apart or just *over* a year apart and when exactly Finral’s mother died bc I have a crack theory that Lilianne is such a wretch to Fin bc she was Ledior’s mistress and Langris would have been born a bastard if Fin’s mom didn’t die and Lil didn’t marry Ledior. Also very here for evil stepmother murder/mystery 🤷🏻‍♀️

On the topic of Vermillion theories, we talked a bit about the Vermillion eye markings with Koneko ( @koneko-pi) yesterday.
So, we have the Fire Vermillions (with markings) and the Flower Vermillions (no markings). Papa Fire Vermillion and Papa Flower Vermillion were brothers
Tumblr media
Which means that either the markings are not of Vermillion origins since the last name comes from the father’s side in both families, but instead come from Mama Fire Vermillion who married into the family, or... OR then the markings are passed down from the father in some strange manner. I was thinking that it could be an “eldest son” -thing (why? I’m just going to say magic which would be, and I do agree with you on this, in this instance, dumb.) So that said markings are passed on through the paternal lineage from the eldest son onto his children.
This I got from the idea that the eldest sons of the Vermillion Houses already have their earrings going on for them, so it could symbolize something. And serves a fun headcanon of the markings simply skipping generation in the Flower Vermillion family tree and be inherited by Kirsch’s kids, because genetics are weird. (Is it unlikely for this to be a thing? Yes. Very much so. But is it entertaining? A bit amusing at least.)
However, long story short: I propose that the eye markings actually come from Mama Fire Vermillion.

ok here's another theory(?)
at some point, rill will almost be defeated (by one of the paladins or some other opponent during this arc), but then he'll see charmy (in her more adult-like(?) form) and then he'll suddenly get a power up

Hey! Can I ask why you think Rhya's human host is an Adlai? Thanks!
Hey there! I was hoping for someone to ask me this haha... it took me forever to answer this though, sorry about that.
Before I go any further, trigger warning: mention of suicide.
I'm gonna be honest and say that my reasons behind this theory are mostly personal - I like the elves, Rhya is my favorite out of the main elves, Gauche's elf, Droit, is my favorite out of the side elves... this is their first meeting after the massacre, they high-fived - and I've been fascinated about their friendship ever since, coming up with theories and scenarios to highligh it (yes the bulls aren't the only people I stan; elves are my second beloveds).
Very self-indulgent of me. I know. But aren't we all? People do that shit with their ships, I can do it with friends ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyways I didn't truly consider this theory until fast forward later when I came across this interesting piece of info about the human Rhya reincarnated into:
Tumblr media
(Tabata's Q&As in Volume 25)
Pretty interesting, right? There's not that many named characters in the manga who are fallen nobles/aristocrats, the Adlai House is the only name whose members were referred as Disgraced.
Here is the thing though, I've seen many people interpreted what I believed the "Fall" of House Adlai as simply a case of Gauche and Marie's parents getting murdered and betrayed by their relatives of the same family and the results only caused harm to their children and that's about it. I don't think it's the case, not with how Damnatio victimized Marie during Asta's trial by exposing her ruined nobility and ties to House Adlai with the implication of it being a sensible excuse to execute her. I'm positive the Adlai House has been pretty much taken down completely by another aristocrat/noble family and the surname became as good as dirt afterwards, which forced all members of the family to be labelled as disgraced and ruined because there is no hope for a house with neither heads nor heirs to keep it kicking in an aristocratic world.
This leads me to my theory - Rhya's human host is an Adlai. I have no reason to think otherwise since Tabata left the specific details of his origins unknown and it's always more interesting and fun to connect characters with similar background and develop canon events that happened in the past. In my theory, Human Rhya is a branch member of the Adlai House and has been surviving for years before the toll of his situation became too much to endure and, as Tabata worded it, he was this close to end it all, and I think this is kind of ironic because Rhya is one of the few characters in the series who showed suicidal thoughts. It also explains why Rhya didn't need a new body to remain in the living world like Vetto and Fana since his human host has no attachment to his own body.
One more point that is likely me reaching, but Rhya's Imitation Magic which is for sure shared with his Human Host, and Gauche's Mirror Magic are the only two magical attributes that have copying abilities, and in this series characters with blood ties tend to share similar if not identical abilities or themes, so who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My other favorite "they're related" theories are Half Brothers Henry and William, Noelle sharing blood ties to the Seabed/Underwater people from her Father's side of the family, and Half Brother and Sister Luck and...... Sally! I bet you didn't see that one coming 😛

Theory’s & hopes after reading Black Clover chapter 354
Obviously manga spoilers for chapter 354 below the cut:
I have a feeling that Yami will become a paladin.  The story parallels are just to good for me to think that Tabata Sensei, in his love of parallels, won’t do it.
It’ll mirror Yami and efl!Charlotte’s battle if she were to fight paladin!Yami.  I mean, I can just imagine her telling him that he’s never been that weak of a man to hurt his comrades and let someone control him.
Ickika.  After realizing that her big bro didn’t kill their clan but instead took the blame/left to protect her; I can SO see her arriving with Asta and gang, and fighting paladin!Yami to stop him from basically doing what she did back then in killing a lot of people.
The Black Bulls.  And yeah, I think it’ll take Ickika, Charlotte, and all/most of the Bulls to face and not die against a paladin version of Yami.  This one is similar to Ickika’s in that Yami basically saved all the Bulls in giving them a home, and now it’s their turn to save their Captain so he can return home without the regret of what his paladin self did.
This one is more of a hope not a theory.  I hope Yami’s dark/devil heart plays into something, somehow, somewhere.  Sadly, so far, Tabata Sensei has crafted a number of really cool threads like Yami’s dark/devil heart and, so far, has either dropped or seemed to have forgotten about them.
Of course I think Natch will have to face Morgen.  And that Noelle will return with the Bulls from finding Asta, and have to face her mother.  Can we say, Silva sibling pain and bonding time.  And then I think there will also be a really heartfelt and painful battle of Asta and Liebe vs. paladin!Richita, who I think those two will have to face before finally getting to go up against Lucius.
In any case those are my hopes and theory’s after reading chapter 354.  But there was something else I wanted to add.
A friend and I were chatting and they mentioned how, as much as they liked BC, it was hard to have any real invested worry for the characters since no one will die.  And while I do agree in thinking that at least none of the “good guys” will die, I have to say I think it’s because BC (like BNHA) is written for/or to include a younger audience.  I mean there’s JJK, which like BC and BNHA is also published in Weekly Shonen Jump, but is definitely written for a somewhat older audience in that there’s death and horror, and more ‘shades of grey’ when it comes to good vs bad.
So in my mind, not having any of the “good guys” die is somewhat expected for series like BC and BNHA.  But, for me, that doesn’t mean I don’t read without worry for the characters.  There’s Aizawa in BNHA (my poor anime husband needs a break, and no I don’t mean a further breaking of his body and soul Horikoshi Sensei).  Then there’s Fuegoleon in BC.  The man lost an arm!  Sure he can fire magic one if/when he wants, but it’s proof that Tabata Sensei can and has left character’s with life long physical damage/injury; and what’s to say that he won’t do so again?

New theory time before any leaks drop.
Had this one in the back-burner for a long ass time but now we're sitting down and writing it at last.
Each and every fight between the black bulls and the paladins of sort WILL have a devastating impact on Lucius and chip away at his mental stability and confidence. Each Lucius fight fuck him up mentally like taking the horcrux tally off of voldemort.
We'll start with the first one we know: Magna and Luck.
Chapter 369 Lucius' thoughts are first that from Magna's spell, his magic is split in thirds, then his regeneration being slow from antimagic, that they're chipping away at him and that he "only needs to endure it for a little while" before he can start fighting back.
Tumblr media
The wording implies that Lucius just needs to endure it a little and he'll win. The problem? He doesn't, a clone gets busted up out of the 11 ones they have and the angel homunuclus amount dropped too damn fast. Magna and Luck aren't even done, I'm not sure if it's the panels or not but it looks like they're in the Black Bull Mecha too.
What does this mean? Magna and Luck fucked up his confidence in winning just with his clones so he started the shit early to finish it. Them beating the clone into the ground and at the end of the chapter, Asta saying "So which one of us has the advantage now?" Is telling Lucius that yhe plan is no longer in the position to just keep going with the plan. He can't wait out the clones to fuck them up, so he's panicking and starting the tree spell early.
And the same is gonna follow with everyone else.
Gauche will fuck up his confidence in being a proper elder sibling. Man's has in previous chapters stated that he and his siblings will remake humanity, but later it was shown he's got their bodies in cocoons and using their magic to make clones and homunuclus. Man's essentially walking around saying "this is for the good of the world" while desecrating the corpses of his siblings.
I know in my heart Gauche will call him a piece of shit brother. If dark triad being ..like that due to Lucius tempering with their souls, then it would also put him in shit brother category. It would also add to character development for Gauche, showcasing him becoming more aware of things outside of his sister and caring for other people while also not choosing to be narrow-minded in one thing/person entirely. I'm basing this off of the fact that he's teamed up with Rill, who's also very focused on his art but as a result his interpersonal life is struggling.
Plus Gauche big brotherism vs Lucius negative 2 star big brother behaviors would be hilarious.
Tumblr media
Noelle, Vanessa and Grey together shit would be realising that him being a noble didn't mean shit for talent. He calls himself a prodigy that's able to purify devils, but Noelle didn't start off with even basic magic control, Vanessa was literally shut off from the rest of the world to make a red string of fate by her mother, the Witch Queen, and Grey, assuming her father is also a noble, was harassed for her magic and lack of ability to do anything or stand up for herself.
We know that the Zogratis were a noble family in Spade so it wouldn't be surprising that that added to Lucius' pride, and being a prodigy it would've elevated that he didn't have to worry about power coming to him.
A noble with social anxiety and ptsd, an alcoholic immigrant and a royal with an undiagnosed learning disability beating his ass would show that having a lineage ain't worth shit. None of them were remotely talented because of their lineages, they had gotten to the point where they were through their own efforts and challenging themselves.
Henry vs Lucius would be a disability on disability violence fight. AGAIN, showing that his disability, while it did hold him back, was not a definitive show that he had to do shit on his own. We could get a possible flashback of Lucius being abandoned by his parents, left to fend for his siblings, as a parallel to Henry being left to die in the house he had. The difference is that Henry was found by Yami, who reached out to him, and Henry never stopped hoping to have a family, even if one wasn't bound by blood.
Tumblr media
The Lucius Clones vs Black Bulls quartet would be his realisation that you can get stronger by means that don't require you to be a genuis and he didnt. ALL of them have some form of unorthodox magic that, reasonably, couldn't have worked on the battlefield (ash, sealing, spacial with no offensive traits, cotton/cooking).
Considering Lucius has soul magic, he thought the only way to get magic would be to hijack other people's souls. Vs Finral, Zora, Charmy and Secre who at SEVERAL points in their flashbacks/backstories were alluded to being out down by others for having simple or weak magic types, but didn't give up and instead found to use their magic to help their allies in unorthodox means (traps, food buffs and sheep soldiers, sealing entities/enemies, speed boosting teleportation and likely more).
Tumblr media
Yami, Ichika and Nacht? Something along parents being hoes isn't an excuse to be a sociopath witn a hint of scary magic doesn't define you as person. The fact this is Ichika saving Yami from someone he can't fight against (paralleling Yami protecting her from their dad) and Nacht stopping Morgen from doing something he's gonna regret (paralleling the Faust Devil Summoning Incident) is just chefs kiss.
You could also say that, since both of them were in devil related clans (Yami's being partially mixed with devil hybrids, Nachts family just being the Clover equivalents of Zogratis.), this could challenge Lucius' views that he HAD to fo some devil/forbidden magic shit to become stronger, because that's the type of family he has and that's the only thing his magic can do.
Tumblr media
Gordon will fuck up his confidence in dealing with devils/curses, assuming the disability will also be a curse thing/metaphor/his curse and disability are a hint at comorbidies. The fact that Gordon is teamed up with William AND Charlotte? And being able to absorb their curses, taking off their supposed handicaps?
Gordon is handing this man the L, as well beating up some supposed idea of, since Lucius was cursed, he was shunned. William and Charlotte are both leaders in their respective squads, highly respected and looked up to, Gordon himself is part of the squad and he's cherished as well. The curse is not an excuse to act like an asswipe.
The fact that Noelle, Vanessa and Grey are paired on the same page spread as Gauche and Rill could hint at familial relations frictions, while Nacht and the In-Laws group and Gordon pulling up with the Cursed Captains Crew could allude to friction/trauma in relation to his family history/traditions.
Henry, Magna and Luck could hint at his struggles with managing his disability (Henry is chronically ill, Luck may have a neurological disorder due to ptsd, Magna needs glasses and has severe scarring on his head, likely brain trauma). The Zora, Finral, Charmy and Secre lineup could deal with his issues of being born with a seemingly strange and unorthodox magic and how he'd focus on developing it.
Asta and Yuno? Obviously dealing with his dreams, goals and aspirations as well as mental instability caused by all the aforementioned.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Black Clover thoughts and ramblings.
The BC devils recieved the 'Elf treatment' too.
Like how the Elves had their magic stolen by royals, in way, way, back from the canon timeline the devils were mistreated or misused by humans. I have no strong arguements to this idea other than saying how this is Tabs using parallels in the story.
I just want to think about the devil binding ritual that the Faust family performs. Perhaps back in time the devils were used for their magic but were eventually forced to become slaves to humans. At first, the humans form contracts with them, while the devil fulfills it fairly. Until one day their contracts were abused and led to the ancient devil war that was shown from the old Heart Queen's memories.
....Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind.

The images are pretty self explanatory, but here's the run down Start of series; Luck says "I'd like to fight you in 3 years" *3 years pass* Lucius brings back teammates / dead comrades as enemies, Luck could be one of them (?)

Just a quick thought for this morning:
What if Lucius isn't healing his siblings
Tumblr media
What if he's using their magic to grant the "salvation" he did to Morris? What if he needs his siblings' magic to create undying bodies, which is the only reason why the rest of the Zogratises are alive. A kind of a mana extraction
Tumblr media
Just a thought
