fanart for Yustelle Week Day 7, “Solace” (self insert title)

Ookay, I actually almost forgot there’s a yustelle week because I rarely visit tumblr anymore orz since we’re in the middle of vesperia 10th anniversary and remake hype, I did want to make something to celebrate for it.

//welp that reminds me; lately I’ve been lurking on twitter and saw a report for vesperia 10th anniversary event. It’s kind of cute how Raven/Flynn’s VAs keep scolding Yuri/Estelle’s VAs (as event moderators(?)) for flirting lmao. They were all like, “Are you guys flirting with each other?!” , “It’s forbidden to show PDA inside the guild!“ 

(they aren’t actually flirting, but the VAs repeatedly scold them for being too close while reading the script pffftt ).

My favorite thing about yustelle is that, for Yuri, protecting Estelle is a knee-jerk reaction. And for Estelle, making sure Yuri knows he’s loved, appreciated and valid is a knee-jerk reaction.

It’s no longer May but I really wanted to scribble something for Mermay this year…… ;w; It ended up being half a painting just because HAHAHAHsieoajsoea anyway have some yustelle!

I tried not to come up with too much backstory for this but I’m Me so:

- Estelle is a princess. Her design is based on a pink full moon betta fish (geddit???)  - Yuri is human, not a prince - Flynn is the prince, and Estelle saved him from drowning once. He thanked her personally and asked if there was anything he could do for her, and Estelle requested for books from the human world - Due to Princely Duties, Flynn ended up being too busy to go, so he sent his friend (servant? sparring partner??) to bring her books - Yuri began to make regular trips down to the beach because he finds he kind of likes seeing how happy and excited Estelle gets over books, of all things.  - Also he thinks it’s fascinating to hear about the underwater world, and to tell her about what goes on on land.  - There’s no angst here this is just a fun mermay AU ok
