unlike what i think most people would think, i can see this being from bakugo's perspective, even if he "pushes" deku away and if izuku ever complied to it, i don't think bakugo would contain himself, he would somehow make himself present again just because i think he would not handle well not being a big part of izuku's life

how do you feel about your legal name? are you using it online and/or online? i don’t rly like my name as it is but i associate it with me so i use it everywhere. even the letter L lmao. my grandma picked my chinese name to mean jade which represents wisdom but my mom wrote the english translation as ling on my birth certificate. it’s so much better than lin tho so we ball 😭🙏

what’s your earliest memory related to your birthday? my sister printed out bakudeku fanart in black and white and pasting them on the walls as a surprise back when i was more obsessed with them. so i was like 14?? the fanart wasn't even saved it was screenshotted on google and printed on computer paper so the quality was not good lmao it's the thought that counts i guess

i'm thinking pro hero bkdk who eventually drifted apart bc in their last year of HS they did get their shit together, but they tried a lot in too little time and dating didn't work bc apparently lifelong trauma does not resolve itself in 6 months!

they weren't trying to hurt each other but they did it anyway and ended up heartbroken, they would not say it but they secretly wished they never tried to be together and ruin the friendship.

of course, they are very much still in love with each other, even if it hurts, even if they haven't talked in a year.

But off the top of my head, the first ship that I think of when thinking of it's nice to have a friend has to bkdk. They have the entire childhood friends-enemies-lovers thing going on, and I think they fit perfectly!

But if we're talking genshin, I think Kavetham and cynonari might fit. Hear me out, I know they met when they were in high school-college age, but hey. creative liberties.

AND DEFINITELY BENNETT AND RAZOR. They fit perfectly. I imagine the second verse is where Razor learns that his feelings aren't completely platonic and the difference between platonic and romantic. I think it's adorable.

What type of music do you think bkdk listen too I want to project onto Deku and say jazz cause it what I listen to but it probably anime soundtrack that edits all might and bkg I know people like saying rock but I think he listens to rap cause of the art hori did of him beatboxing

Huh! That's a fun question. I think it's probably a variety. But given their background and the sorta-meta conversation happening around how much US influence both boys experience and like in their daily lives, this is what I think they'd trend towards. It's funny you mention jazz, because there's a lot of history behind the Japanese jazz scene and music scene in general in response to westernization.

I've never really thought about it in seriousness, just like a passing joke, so here's what's coming to me off the top of my head.

Deku: modern pop, J-rock, anything in an action movie soundtrack and almost anything that has been touched by westernization into the main stream. Somehow, besides themes commonly used for his favorite heroes or in All Might cartoons and shows, I'm not sure how deeply he might think about music on its own instead of just like a casual consumer saying, "oh! I like this!" but if Heroes put out CDs, I'm sure he has them all because it coincides with his other, more obvious obsession. I can see him listening to a lot of different stuff, though.

Given Izuku's admiration for the "very aggressive" and western-like Katsuki, he probably has a collection of very intense and anti-authoritarian rap and heavy rock mixed within all the more general mainstream stuff, too.

Bakugo: I think Katsuki likely has a surprisingly varied library, too, but with a more noticeable trend towards blatantly US or the UK's bands and more of a penchant for heavier rock, metal, and rap than Izuku does overall. Stuff with the rhythm section very prominent rather than just plain "loud" music only. Whatever it is, it is likely more contemporary stuff with a few surprise tracks thrown in. However, I have a gut instinct to say that, of the two of them, I could see him having a fondness for jazz before Izuku, or at least a more noticeable one. I have nothing with which to justify this except a gut feeling.

And, again, to mirror what I said about Izuku's taste probably dipping into edgier territory as a flip to the "expected standard", I think Katsuki probably has the cultural equivalent of, like, what I like to call "sad girl music" - some Taylor Swift, Mitski (actually, yeah, for post DVK2-Katsuki, there's probably a lot of Mitski in there if he ever discovered it considering the topics of many of her songs), and stuff like that - on his playlists.

The Taylor song that describes Bakudeku best has to be The Great War, it very literally and metaphorically applies to them. Considering it's about making assumptions about your beloved and jumping to conclusions, and then creating a fight about it ("maybe it's the past that's talking... telling me to punish you for things you never did") which Bakugou has done through out their whole relationship, and also because it uses the metaphor of fighting a war, which bkdk are literally going through right now. "Your hand was the one I reached for all through out the great war" summarizes their entire relationship since the entire manga is building up to the moment they finally hold hands. That's why I think The Great War resembles bakudeku perfectly and I made a post for it.

But since I've already made a post about The Great War, I'd say a close second is actually The Way I Loved You! We know TWILY is about missing a toxic relationship even though you know it's not good for you, and while I don't think bkdk is toxic, I do think a lot of the lyrics check out. "I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain...so in love that you act insane" "it's a roller coaster kinda rush" are the most bkdk lyrics to ever exist, don't you think? Anyway, it's about missing a relationship and knowing that no matter who you try to date, they will never be good enough and you will always come back to your beloved because even tho you might've fought a lot, you guys just had something special. I think this is very bkdk coded considering they are literally soulmates LOL.

And of course, how can I forget It's Nice To Have A Friend? It's honestly self explanatory. I don't even need to say why.

BONUS NO ONE ASKED FOR: I really think that Anti-Hero accurately describes Bakugo's relationship with himself. He's aware of what people think of him, and he agrees with them ("I'm the problem, it's me, at tea time everybody agrees") . He doesn't like himself and deals with self loathing on a large scale. And although he is training to become a hero, he doesn't see himself as one. Or at least not one as worthy or talented as Deku. He sees himself as an Anti-Hero at most.
