i go back & forth on whether Hunter was ❛ born ❜ - so to speak. as in, created as an infant, grew up for fifteen years. because on one hand it makes sense since he's, like, a fully functioning teenager with memories - & it would be absolutely insane for belos to create an army of grimwalkers that need to be raised from infancy only for them to be discarded ?? but also. do we really put that past him.

but it would definitely make sense for him to just - create memories, then shove a golden guard into training. it's quicker, easier, significantly less emotional.

kind of toying with the idea that the golden guards are usually constructed beings with false memories, but hunter isn't. if every previous golden guard had betrayed him, maybe a different process - raising one as a nephew, as family, indoctrinating him for far longer, would rectify that issue - ensure absolute loyalty.

I keep having Thoughts about Dread’s world state post-game. I don’t know if I’ll ever write a proper fic for it—if I did, it’d be a rambly multiperspective thing and I’ve never written one of those before. But here are the thoughts I have now:

After defeating the Netherbrain, Dread and Minthara want to take control of the Absolute, everyone else doesn’t. Tense standoff until Isobel offers to True Resurrect Gortash in exchange for Dread destroying the brain. Dread agrees, Minthara could become Absolute on her own, but chooses not to.

As they’re falling, Dread starts losing her illithid powers. She absorbs the astral tadpole fully, keeping her partial illithidication. Wyll and Astarion, who partook in a worm or two, go back to normal. So does Minthara, who also chose partial ceremorphosis.

Immediately after Minthara is furious and lost—especially after seeing that Dread’s retained her psionic powers while she hasn’t. She leaves for Menzoberranzan. Dread promises her they’ll meet again, Minthara tells her if they do she’ll kill her.

For the next few months, an assassin stalks the streets on Menzoberranzan, killing drow who carved out pieces of Minthara’s estate. The spree ends with the death of the Baenre matriarch and the descrecation of the House’s shrine to Lolth. Minthara then leaves the city for good.

Dread stays in Baldur’s Gate to see Gortash resurrected and Wyll inducted as the new Grand Duke. Aware that the people she loves most have, at best, mixed feelings towards her at the moment, she leaves. It’s the first time in her life she’s ever actually alone.

Dread returns to the illithid colony under Moonrise Towers. She picks up on Gortash and the Myrkulites’ study of psionics, and ends up establishing a psionic monastic tradition since WOTC isn’t going to. Us is her assistant.

Gortash leverages his knowledge of the Baneite strongholds to try to keep Wyll from exposing him to the Gate. Wyll realizes Gortash would only be making that offer if the Baneites were a danger to Gortash. Wyll agrees, under the condition that Gortash bring him his father’s remains so he can try to resurrect him.

Gortash reminds Wyll that a resurrection has to be willing, and asks him if he really thinks his father will come if he calls for him. Look my brain’s just kind of been stuck on a Wylltash hate hookup for a while. We’re probably doing Wyllstarion endgame here. If I ever write a postgame thing I’m probably not even doing this at all. I just think they could really fuck each other up in some neat ways and I keep thinking it.

Gortash got a taste of torture in the Banehold and will do fucking anything to not go back.

Wyll realizes he’s better than his father ever was at politics and it devastates him.

This is a bit of group hc with some discord folks—Wyll ends up hiring Astarion as his personal aide (secretary) to help with some of the legal and bureaucratic issues he’s unfamiliar with. Astarion thrives in his Joan Holloway era.

Wyllstarion drama where Astarion idealizes Wyll and feels like if he’s honest about some of the skullduggery he does on his behalf, Wyll will reject him and he’ll have to go back to the Underdark. Wyll worries he can’t live up to the image Astarion has of him, especially as he has to make hard, morally gray decisions as a leader.

Wyll becomes a tempest cleric of Bahamut post-warlock, to try to carry on Ansur’s legacy. He’s probably able to give Astarion some level of sunlight protection so people just think the grand duke’s bf is being dramatic with his umbrella and big floppy hat.

Lae’zel goes off with Orpheus to free the gith. The egg hatches soon after. Lae’zel immediately hands the kid off to Orpheus. Orpheus leads a revolution wearing a baby bjorn.

Minthara appears at the illithid colony one day, knowing it’s where Dread was most likely to go. Minthara doesn’t kill her. They reconcile. Minthara doesn’t have paladin or illithid powers so she’s an Eldritch Knight fighter now. She’s just like really shredded. She’s so jacked guys.

Realistically Karlach left the party when Dread agreed to work with Gortash. Knowing she’d either die from her engine or become a mindflayer without the artifact’s protection, she solo’d the Iron Throne. Gortash thinks no one survived it, but she managed to free a handful of the prisoners. Mizora made sure Ulder wasn’t one of them.

Gale’s bloody hand is still in Dread’s inventory.

Jaheira tells Wyll that as a Harper, she has a responsibility to hold those in power accountable and this will limit her ability to be a true friend to him. Wyll intellectually understands, emotionally feels like he’s constantly being abandoned and doesn’t handle it with as much grace as he could have. They probably reconcile somewhere down along the line and have a more Nine-Fingers-y dynamic. Just without the fucking.

Oh also more classes: Lae’zel is a blade warlock (great old one) with Orpheus as her patron. Astarion is a College of Lore Bard because I like having two people with Healing Word in the party. I mean because it’s in character. Jaheira’s a multiclass Gloom Stalker and Spores Druid. I still need to nail down Shadowheart but I think she’s a Beastmaster—I keep thinking of her postgame as a cleric bc Asheera fics, but I think in a Dread-helmed party she’d turn from gods more. Karlach was an Oathbreaker, in the NADDPOD antipaladin sense—not actually a fallen paladin, just a hellish version of one. Minsc is a wildheart barbarian with the aspect of the hamster.

Zack is hilarious, but annoying when he bypasses boundaries for the sake of a joke. Nasser is super nice but also too stressed out and Bjorn is a good friend, yet sometimes he turns cold and ignores you for no apparent reason. That kinda hurts, but oh well!

Armand (Armand is a French name/surname, the closest Arabic (Persian) name/surname is Arman, meaning “wish” and “hope.”).

Headcanons:

He is a patient person and usually maintains a good mood that is hard to spoil, tending to see the bright side of things, and having a very positive attitude toward life.

The relationship with his family, namely with his French-born father, is strained due to how contrasting their outlooks on life are. That is, much to his dismay because Seiyd's family is well-known around their hometown for their chronic pessimism.

Seiyd spends most of his time arguing with his overly dramatic father over daily events and how much his apparent bad luck influenced them.

If there's one thing Seiyd is not neutral about is how much he dislikes fatalistic individuals. However, it's not like he can just get rid of his own family, especially because despite all that negativity they seem to possess, he loves them to the moon and back.

Seiyd and Talal are really close friends. He also has a strong bond with Far, Bjorn, and Musa.

Well I have spare tlotd hcs for the class:

After they have a kid they both exhibit some fancy war PTSD re: all the nephews/nieces/siblings they lost and both panic about the baby Not Being SafeTM, especially Aemond since he was sort of around for b&c/it happened because of him, and to counter that they don’t really trust nurses/anyone to watch the child out of their sight so they hold it in council meetings and stuff even though the council keeps heavily “hinting” that it’s unorthodox and unprofessional and we end up with Aemond holding their kid on his lap when he’s on the iron throne or shushing it while pointing to a map of the riverlands and explaining his plans. He’s a baby bjorn father through and through

Also I could see them moving in to the same chambers after they find out she’s pregnant but it’s not a decision they really discuss. Aemond’s just already in the room or he sneaks in when she’s bathing or whatever and if anyone ever brings it up he’s like she’s with child????? The guards aren’t protective enough???? He still does not use her actual door for a minimum of six months so the servants have to guess if he’s lurking in her room. Nobody is brave enough to suggest it to him.

They spend weeks agonizing over if they’re going to give baby a cradle egg (because neither of them hatched one) and, furthermore, which one they want to choose. After multiple attempts where they put each egg in the cradle to try and see which one “feels right” they give up and decide to wait until the baby can crawl and choose its own. All the eggs are kept in their shared chambers for protection until then.

Toddler’s First Valyrian Sword. Aemond wants Visenya 2.0 (3.0???? Vhagar has thoughts) and spends no small amount of time analyzing when it would be best to get them to the training yard. She has to keep reminding them that the baby still needs its grapes cut in half, maybe wooden weapons are best

Boy or girl, Baby grows into Child that really likes their father’s hair and insists on having the exact same look. Forces him to help them straighten it after baths

Baby cries when Aemond wears the eyepatch because it’s scary but not when he has his sapphire eye out so he has to stop wearing it in private and occasionally in meetings when Baby gets fussy. The first time they’re holding court and Baby throws a fit because Kepa Doesn’t Look RightTM he sighs and whips off the eyepatch everyone freezes because he so famously Does Not Do That Around Ladies and so his wife hands Aemond Baby to distract him and Baby takes the patch and it immediately puts it in its mouth. The leather dye def messes up Baby’s chin and it takes a royal decree and three baths to fix.

For all those hungry for TLotD. I absolutely agree with the no cradle egg and Aemond just kind of moving into her room with no warning

Two last questions and then I'll stop bugging you. Regardless of what comes next for Trevor and Hetty do you think we'll ever get to see them having fun subplots/moments in episodes again? And what shenanigans would you want to see them cause or get involved in?

By fun I mean like the whole back rubs business in The Baby Bjorn, or Hetty asking him to look up stable boys on the laptop in The Tree, or watching the Cult members doing yoga and the whole "did you watch him change?" "No further questions" exchange in Jay's Friends. Or even a little bit similar to the dinner party stuff back in season 1.

I love asks - I have been so excited to get them so feel free to keep sending them! :). I will always answer even if I need time to think about a good response.

This is interesting, I do think there is a lot of potential for fun subplots with them even when they resolve the relationship - them together/not together. & I think that there will be. The writers are probably just working out some of the friendships first.

I imagine if they're together, there could be bad date plots, getting caught plots or 'ugh you're too mushy' plots.

But the more fun plots would be like... scheming to get something. Like Hetty really wants something and Sam says no so Hetty has to con Trevor into schoomizing (WHY CAN"T I SPELL IT? - hopefully you know what I'm trying to say) Jay into getting it for her.

Or things like using the Back Rubs to get what they want - like Trevor doesn't have the capital to get the Shaft from Sass, so he convinces Hetty to give hers away to him and trying to figure out what he could offer her to get them.

Or (total HC after the Backrubs plot) Trevor finds out that she completely lied about having back rubs (and actually has none, but they can't right things down so she just says with authority that she has many back rubs and no one questions her) and he decides to mess with her on that someway.

Or Hetty gets banned from the TV (for something idk) and has to convince Trevor to give her his TV time for B&B.

I'm not terribly great at coming up with plots, but I love the idea of them just like disagreeing and playing around with that or the other ghosts teasing them about being a couple and whatnot.

Also, how much fun would it be for them to just watch Sam's yoga or find something else sexy to watch together (maybe even guests) would be great!

Something fun. Some of these work if they aren't together and are trying to hide their feelings / acting out not being together.

Also Jealous Trevor or Jealous Hetty. So fun!

Two hc Drarry questions if I may and one request (again if I may)-

if each of them had a perfume, which would it be and why?

And if each of them had to their their shared kid, independently on a plane, and their toddler was creating a bit of a ruckus, how would their parenting react or try and mitigate their kids fuss?

Finally, I saw you made this wonderfully long guide to getting into dramione with a bunch of recs, would you mind making one for Drarry? It really read like Ravenclaw’s guide to dramione (compliment), which was wonderful, I just thought it would be cool if maybe u could indulge drarry 😊(like I’d love to know for you what u think ur intro to drarry is like you did for disappearness of Draco malfoy and all the other categories yk? Given ur the goat)

Hi anon! Let me answer your last question first. I did do a shorter list for an intro to drarry, as well as a follow-up post with more recs here. I don’t know that I’m the right person to make as in-depth of a post as I did for dramione. I’ve read dramione for 20-plus years, drarry I’m still fairly new to, so though the lists I linked above are filled with great fics, I’m not the best source. I will say that if you’re looking for the perfect intro to drarry fic, in my opinion that’s Away Childish Things. I recommend it to anyone looking to give this ship a try. I just re-read it last week and I’m already itching to do it again. It’s the perfect story to show how these two could overcome their differences, forgiving and communicating under some strange circumstances.

Okay, now perfume I know next to nothing about, so I’ll give scent profiles instead. Draco I think very crisp, a hint of floral, a whisper of sugar. Harry I’ll say more earthy, hints of fireplace but also fresh air. Again, not a perfume person so *shrugs*

Okay, toddler on a plane. Draco is not getting into this situation because you are not getting that man onto a plane. He is strapping that kid to his chest with a baby bjorn and they are taking a broom, portkey, apparition, Floo, the Knight bus, horseback, muggle car, literally any other transport.

Poor Harry is going to resort to begging and bribery immediately. That toddler is going to get so much candy and the promise of a unicorn.

Eu só acho que existem tão poucos hcs/fanfics de Vinland Saga. Eis então minha contribuição:

🩶 Eu li isto de um perfil daqui do Tumblr e concordo tanto: Thorkell precisa de roupas sob medida porque ele é enorme, mas então ele sempre volta à sua costureira porque continua rasgando suas roupas. A verdade é que ele está interessado nela e essa é sua desculpa para vê-la mais.

Agora, imagine que ele, apesar de ser quem é, fica todo sem jeito perto dela porque quer impressioná-la, mas tudo o que vem a sua mente são suas histórias brutais de batalhas.

Ele só quer cortejá-la direito, só que não faz ideia de como, então continua voltando e continua contando suas histórias na esperança de que dê certo.

Quando ela diz que gosta de ouví-lo, ele ficaria tão feliz e animado!

🤎 Ainda sobre homens de VS que não sabem como cortejar uma mulher, Bjorn seria TÃO tímido sobre isso. Quero dizer, ele é um viking e tudo mais, ele já esteve com outras mulheres antes, especialmente prostitutas, mas essa? Ele está encantado. E desnorteado. Então ele tenta gestos fofos e pequenos como dar uma florzinha ou roubar alguma jóia para ela em alguma vila que ele e o resto da tripulação de Askeladd forem saquear. Bjorn faria beicinho e ficaria amuado se sentisse que seus atos não estão surtindo efeito.

🖤 Tá, mas Askeladd já disse que com o trunfo certo, pode conseguir o que quiser de uma pessoa, e isso se aplica aos seus interesses amorosos também. Como está sempre de olho no que chama a atenção daquela pessoa, não como um stalker, mas casualmente, ele sabe o que deve fazer. Também, suas habilidades em ler alguém o tornam excelente em flertar. Estou dizendo, se alguém despertou seu interesse, ele vai além para conquistá-la, e isso envolve desde presentes (e ele dá os melhores) até levá-la para viver algumas aventuras.

Não acho que seja fácil despertar um interesse mais profundo nele, por isso quando acontece, Askeladd mergulharia para ver até onde iria.
