Meet the Robinsons things I think about way too often.

I love this movie so much and have been fixating on it for like a year now, so here are some unsolicited thoughts of mine about it.

-How Lewis was so affected by the countless rejections from potential families that, never, in twelve years, did he ever think that there was a possibility that his birth mother might have wanted him until Mildred brought it up.

-How Bud and Lucille got to spend one more day with their son as a child.

-How guilty and hurt Franny must have felt after making Lewis the offer to adopt him and then taking it back right after it was revealed to her who he really was, knowing just how much her husband wished to hear that a family wanted him after being turned down so many times as a child, and having to take that hope away seconds after, making her husband's younger self feel rejected once again.

-How Lewis looks at young Franny when they meet at the science fair.

-How Lewis built the memory scanner to try and find out what his mother looked like, and when it finally works, we see Lucille.

-How Cornelius most likely had to wait 17 whole years to see his best friend again.

Honestly a sorry from Curly would mean nothing to Anya.

I’m not saying she wouldn’t want to hear it, it’s a hollow vindication. She told him and he couldn’t hear her. He saw it and he couldn’t understand it. They both experienced it and he should apologize that it took that for him to get it. She already knows he’s sorry but what’s the point if neither of them can do anything about it? It’s earnest but at the same time what she wants an apology for is what Curlu can’t apologize for.

He can’t be sorry for what happened to her even if he is. Even if he carries that guilt with him until the day he dies it’s not all his to bare. The most heinous parts aren’t his weight even if he tries to balance it. A part of her bitterness is the fact he can’t be sorry for it all. She can’t just direct it all towards him even if she wants to. She was failed in so many ways by all of them. It hurts with him the most cause he had the power but they all did nothing in the grand scheme of things.

The one person who should apologize would never and could never, it’s not something you can be sorry for. She wants an apology, she needs one but what would it fix?

I keep wracking my brain as to what benefit would be gained by spiking a large group of people with the devil’s nectar. Its effect doesn’t make a person more persuadable, it makes them more persuasive. If it were a player character’s consumable, it’d provide an advantage to deception/persuasion or something.

What’s unique about this substance is that, if consumed excessively, the user can become so good at deception that they believe their own lies.

What sort of strategy would benefit from a large group of people believing their own lies? Campaigners with free samples.
