The Glass Coffin Mocktail! In honor of my most beloved and favorite Saw trap 5ever :)
#my recipe#Okay so some tips is the lemon juice will taste less artificial if it is freshly squeezed#But thematically I think the artificial is better and I personally like it more#Sugared rim is optional but fun to sugar a rim you just get the glass wet and turn it around upside down in a little dish of sugad#Sugar but I’m not retyping that#Simple syrup is 1 part water 1 part sugar just boiled together in a pot#Club soda and tonic water are BASICALLY the same. Club soda is more sweet and tonic water is more bitter#They can be used interchangeably most of the time. This is one of those times#If you want to make it a COCKTAIL and not a mocktail it’s pretty much a lemon drop with extra steps so just go with vodka#This recipe image has less flair to it because this is a less. Well the flair is in the drink itself#I’m tagging this as#saw v#but that’s it for theming related tags#The grenadine is the blood going on the glass btw (the glass is the clear liquid base)

#this poll brought to you by a reddit thread i stumbled upon complaining that it’s INSANELY SOUR (and in some cases: bitter???)#sure it’s tangy but do these people not eat citrus? do they not eat sourdough bread? do they not eat pickles?#like it’s fine if it’s not someone’s thing i was just baffled by people acting like it might as well be lemon juice#and also baffled re: the point of the thread which was basically ‘please tell me how to make it not disgusting’#i mean if you hate it just don’t eat it bro were not catholic here#polls#my posts

I changed the smokey special drinky drink a bit 🤏 but instead of actually altering anything I just went from the juice of a lemon wedge to half a large lemon 🍋
#smokey talks#everything else is still the same tho#1 part lemon juice (half a lemon) 2 parts blueberry pomegranate juice#then 1 half to 1 part lime juice + slap a mint sprig#then top up with sparkling water over ice#its the best refresher out there........#also u can make it fancier by adding flavored bitters and a splash of tonic water#it tastes great on its own but if ur looking for a kick add wildwoods vodka#they have like a toooon of fruit crushed into their vodka. i recommend the huckleberry one#either that or any unflavored vodka. i dont like flavored vodka but wildwood is just fruit + vodka

I am expecting Jon to betray/kill? a tyrant like Dany but also get the girl Sansa. That means the author will let him have the moral high ground for his actions and still be rewarded with a marriage. The hero gets to marry a beautiful princess. Essentially, he gets to have his cake and eat it too. A bittersweet cake. The bitter part comes from Dany while the sweet part Sansa.
#jonsa#Something something about lemon cakes#lemons are needed to make Sansa's fave#Jon will plant lemon trees#that dany refuses to plant#Something bitter an make it sweet#Idk man

Thank you so much for sharing your Tom Kazansky and related playlists because I’m obsessed with them and how perfectly the songs fit. Yesterday I cried on a plane to When All is Said and Done
uncritical support for abba and mamma mia! for providing me the perfect song with which to end my top gun fanfic series called “easier done than said”
#in our lives we have walked some strange and lonely treks….#slightly worn and dignified but NOT too old for sex…#clear headed & open eyed but nothing left untried!#standing calmly at the crossroads NO DESIRE TO RUN#there’s no hurry anymore when all is said and done ❤️#I keep forgetting to update the playlist list but if u want songs for the slider one shot#u basically only need 2: ‘pancho & lefty’ by willie nelson when slider finds out about ice & mav#where ice is pancho and slider is lefty#and ‘lemon boy’ by cavetown when mav is explaining his relationship with ice to slider#‘it’s actually pretty easy to be nice to a bitter boy like him cause we’re the bitterest boys in town’ etc.#the playlist itself should be updated on spotify#and i swear to fucking christ when i make a masterpost i will be unstoppable#thx for the ask <3 i too have cried on a plane about tom iceman Kazansky

everyone hi hello if the weather has gotten hot where you live please do yourself a favour and make yourself an iced tea for tomorrow <3 put a teabag or two (i use one teabag for milk tea, two for sweet tea) in two cups of cold water and put it in the fridge overnight :3 you will have iced tea ready for you in the morning 💖
#also! pls do not be worried abt it getting bitter from steeping for hours in the fridge!! since the water is cold it doesn’t release#any bitterness from the leaves c:#i do this everyday when the weather gets hot & it really is so refreshing#you can do it with any kind of tea btw!!! i do think black teas are better overnight and herbal or green teas just need a few hours <3#i usually do black teas for ~12 hours and other teas for half that!!! pls do go forth and make yourself some refreshments 💖💖💖#OH and of course sweeten with whatever you want :3 i use sugar in both and put lemon in for sweet tea!! honey is fine as well but i find it#takes quite a while to dissolve :o#🎆.txt

This soup was almost a disaster: in the broth, i used too many herbs, so it came out bitter. Thankfully, the chicken breasts I roasted saved it. I added a can of fire roasted tomatoes to help take the edge off a little more. Only needed a 1/3 cup of pre-made stuff.
#i roasted the breasts with lemon#tangy mellowed the bitter#without negating the spice from the jalapeños#cooking again#i bought more groceries than i have in a couple months#im making a chuckroast tommorrow for famiwy

Hey google is it weird to be 21 with no relationship experience in an age where it seems like if you’re not experienced by your late teens/early twenties you’ll never ever get to experience it?
Google??
Hello???
#lemon talks#like if I could properly articulate my feelings on this#I could write an entire book on the feeling of being behind in age of social media#like#there are people younger than me with more experience than me#and honestly it’s one of my biggest insecurities#something that genuinely makes me sad#the only ‘relationship’ I ever experienced was an extremely toxic online one when I was like#maybe 14 or 15#and even then I got cheated on multiple time#got TOLD by my partner I was being cheated on multiple times#and thought ‘this is ok :)’#n e way#just me being bitter about it

I can’t really drink normal tea#al haitham is kind of a weirdo for liking coffee but then again Arab coffee is soooo popular in the Middle East so that’s a cute addition on#their behalf :> !!! but if you’ve tried middle eastern coffee it’s so bitter it feels so concentrated 😭 I dislike bitter things sm#I don’t know how everyone tolerates it tbh#I’m not a fake Iraqi I swear don’t boo me off stage 😞😞😞

Protip: if you make vanilla tea with (oat in my case but I reckon it works with other types) milk it tastes really good. It tastes good with water too ofc but for some reason making it with milk tastes better.
#the oatmilk gives it a nice nutty taste and creaminess that it would not have with water#it also doesn't taste like demons when it cools and you can add honey without it again tasting like demons lol#as far as I know this only works with vanilla tea as I am a fcking baby and have not tried any other black teas#out of fear they'll be bitter and yucky despite the fact this one isn't#and something about making mint tea or green tea w/lemon with milk of any kind sounds really strange#mint moreso because I have never seen it made with milk -- unlike green tea but that's usually matcha#and not with the kind of tea bags that I have on hand#ramblings

There is easy low hanging fruit here, especially about the US and salty tea. And I'm so SO tempted.
But also I'm super in to tea and I'm bored.
The perfect cup of tea is how you want to drink it, and if you do not LIKE tea then drinking it a different way, or a different kind of tea, vastly changes it.
A pinch of salt makes things less bitter, this trick also works with coffee. But other things that affect taste are tempriture, length of time it brews, where the tea was grown, the climate, the soil, and how big the leaves are. Some of the cheapest tea has little more than dust in the tea bag while more expensive teas you will notice have more structure to the leaves.
Tea brewed in colder tempeitures needs longer and creates a different taste. It may require more tea to get the specific flavour you want, and generally it is less bitter for it. Similar thing to spices where if you cook them, use them hot, toast them first, etc, you get a different set of flavours to using them cold.
Like wine, tea can have lots of flavour profiles and colours. Assam for example is very dark, malty, and strong, it can get quite bitter. Ceylon is much lighter. Darjeeling is good with lemon, but Assam is better with milk, in my humble opinion. Lapsang Sushong is very smokey. Earl Grey
Most people will drink a mix. English breakfast is usually a mix of Assam, Ceylon, and Kenyan. Earl Grey is flavoured with bergamot.
White, green, and black tea all come from the same plant, just different parts of it, treated differently. Black tea can take a higher tempriture, but boiling water on green and white tea will scorch the leaves and make it very bitter. Agitating the tea can also have this effect as it releases more tannin.
As a general rule there is a tea for everyone, and a way to drink it that you will enjoy, whether that's hot, cold, mixing it with spices, flavourings, fruit, milk, sugar, lemon, and yes, even a pinch of salt.
I would not, however, recommend tea that has been in the Boston harbour.
