'mewling virgin orion this' and 'experienced top megatronus' that. WRONG
Orion Pax is an experienced playboy city mech that's had the finest spike and valve from Praxus to Polyhex. He gets to sweep Megatron off his feet and deflower this previously untouched and unshakable fortress of a mech. Why? Because I SAID SO

With more older anime I watch that’s specifically about androids the more I noticed all the influence mega man pulled from it despite it not being a anime nor the robot timeline ever getting a proper anime but I think what gets me more then “the basis of mega man is like astro boy, casshern and POSSIBLY kikaider all in a blender with mega man x making the second two inspos more apparent” is realizing how many villain characters inspired proto man.
You have the obvious one, char from Gundam, you have rock holmes from Astro boy who’s not a confirmed one but seems to track given classic takes a lot of Astro boy influence and then you have Saburo from Android kikaider, the most likely inspo for proto in EVERY category- and then you remember how while these characters are evil for a complex reason, proto man really shines to be different as he changed his ways. He’s still a rival to his “brother” in a sense but bass takes more of the role of the evil mega man, while proto just watches from afar and comes in to help when he thinks he’s needed.
I’m going to rotate this red robot fuck for awhile again FUCK

"i read the wiki and i saw the pages/panels already, why do i need to read the comics?"
because a) some those comics fuck with awing dexterity and stamina b) there's a good chance shit is out of context or simply misrepresented (innocently, humorously, ignorantly or maliciously) and c) you know the beats/endings of tons of shit, but it doesn't impede your enjoyment of it, now does it? sure it's nice to go in spoiler free, but if the gimmick of spoiling material is all a piece of media has, then that piece of media is meritless. you knew who luke skywalker's father was before you saw the movie. is it still worth watching? you knew romeo and juliet died before you read the play. is it still worth reading? do you not want to go on a journey? do you not want to feel something? do you not want to commiserate about the human experience through art? a wiki will never be comprehensive enough to cover everything you would have read or seen yourself--it can't be, not without being the thing itself. even then, you still miss the things not on the page/screen, the things that are only implied, the things that go unstated, or else conspicuously omitted. don't talk to me about shit haunting the narrative if the only haunting you've ever been apart of was your passing despite your dogshit analysis skills haunting the conscience of your eng 101 adjunct professor in perpetual fear of losing their contract and being relocated from their car to under a bridge by demanding college students demonstrate basic reading comprehension, critical thinking, and coherent argumentative skills. boast about killing the author? my friend, you are cain advancing in the fields, skulking, stepping in abel's footprints, filled with murderous intent, with nothing but the chinese telephone-equivalent of a description of a weapon cutting into your soft palms.

Saw your post about people acting high and mighty in fandom over how they write their ships and I wanted to say thank you for that. May seem silly, but it's def one of the more demoralizing takes I've seen around (the idea that they're inherently better because they write things the 'right' way). Like it's one of those things where you have to realize it genuinely doesn't matter. It doesn't affect my life if people wanna indulge in some soft Seed content and it's okay if I do too.
It's honestly really annoying and I'm sick and tired of seeing that attitude. It's one I used to have, sure, back when I was 19, 20, and stupid as hell.
It really just comes down to those people thinking they're better than everyone else and have some kind of moral high ground for not having fun in the way other people are.
I'm not even someone who particularly likes soft content, it's just not my cup of tea, but that doesn't make me better than anyone else. Who cares if White Woman #7 is writing about John being the perfect baby daddy who serves breakfast in bed and gives kisses. Who cares about Jacob being a protective husband. We're literally just everyday people hanging out on tumblr to have fun. This holier than thou attitude is gettin' on my nerves and I'm gonna start going for kneecaps.
Post soft content to your hearts content. Who cares if it's OOC. who cares if your character is a thinly-veiled self-insert. Write what you want and have fun.
