columbine flower - "decisive victory" (yearning for revenge no matter what), foolishness and innocence (a nod towards his childs self personality)

snowdrop flower - new beginnings, hope and rebirth (all tying to him being able to forgive himself and live again)

moonstone - often linked to the tides, and used for sleeping problems (tied to the sea, which is very important to him - and also a silly reference to his sleeping habits!)

the hermit - treason (his parents) and prudence, but also unreasoned caution (holding everyone at hands length)

other than that, his general symbols/themes include the stars and the sea!

tansy - "i declare against you," (him being antagonistic towards the society that rejects him; going against the wishes of his family) resistance, revenge (a nod to yuze and their bond!)

daffodil - new beginnings, forgiveness (mostly for himself, but also towards juliet) and rebirth; can also mean "beautiful eyes" (he hates his eyes, since theyre identical to his fathers, something his mother pointed out very often - just a silly ironic reference)

serpentine - associated with snakes and the lushness of nature

the magician - manipulation, illusion (manipulating others into believing his persona), being out of touch

other than that, his general themes include butterflies (rebirth and fragility), eyes, insects and nature in general

JULIET

ivy - fidelity and eternal life (ironically, its the way she knows her life wont be eternal, and how little she values it)

indian mallow - conjecture, love and protection (overprotective nature)

emerald - loyalty, peace and security (her sense of duty towards her family and their reputation, but also the wish for ange to live peacefully and to be safe)

the hanged man - sacrifice, rash decisions and letting go

red camellia - deep desire (just in general - but with him mostly to fit in and be "normal"), humility

red spinel - great passion, devotion and courage (ironic since he thinks of himself as a coward)

birdfoot - revenge (backstory related!), claws (nod to him being a vampire), but also sincerity (also kind of ironic, since he struggles a lot with it)

Story:

Roseclaw always thought that she was destined for more. As a kit, she could hear the voices of Starclan kits. But eventually, over time, they stopped speaking to her.

She hated herbs, and she wasn’t made a medicine apprentice.

Life went along somewhat normally, but she hated her Clanmates. All except one, who she fell in love with: Coyotetuft.

Or at least, that’s what she told Coyotetuft.

She vented to her a lot growing up, and Coyotetuft vented to her in turn. Roseclaw knew that if she was planning to  kill someone, which she had planned since she was a kit, she would need an ally. Someone to vouch for her.

Coyotetuft did vouch for her, and Roseclaw killed the Clanmates she deemed lazy to satisy her urges. Over time, it wasn’t enough.

Coyotetuft never got over the death of her littermates, and so she was easy to manipulate. Her siblings had died of kittencough. Roseclaw used this to her benefit.

She slowly fed Coyotetuft lies about how if there were too many kits, and how they would all die from kittencough.

That is why when Darkwhisker had five kits who she didn’t want anything to do with, and wouldn’t even acknowledge, Coyotetuft started getting worried. Then Pouncetalon had four kits. Birdfoot had six.

Two moons later, under the cover of night, they lured Milkweedkit, Garlickit, Bayoukit out into the forest. Roseclaw threw them into a fox den, and held her mate while she cried, listening to the pleasant sounds of the kits’ wails.

Four days later, they lured Skykit, Bloomkit, Twigkit into the forest and killed them as well. Roseclaw drowned Skykit, making the other two watch as she revived and killed him over and over again.

She slit Bloomkit’s throat, and made Twigkit try to stop the bleeding while he sobbed over his friend’s body. She crushed his lungs shortly after.

Coyotetuft grew quieter over the next few moons, flinching away from Roseclaw.

In the next three moons, ten more kits were born. She killed four, carrying the small newborn kits and tossing them to dogs.

But then seven more kits were born! Coyotetuft and Roseclaw argued more and more, and Coyotetuft started begging her not to kill. So, Roseclaw slashed at her with unsheathed claws whenever she spoke about it.

Coyotetuft went completely quiet from then on, barely speaking to her. After she killed Prancekit and Kalekit, having torn their ears, tongues, and noses off before killing them, she asked Coyotetuft to go grab the smallest of the litter, Cicadakit. 

Coyotetuft shook, terrified, but she stood over the small shaking kit, and killed Roseclaw, praying that Cicadakit was too young to remember.

Story:

After killing Roseclaw, she found out that she was expecting kits. She had two kits, and supported her Clan as best as she could, hoping to repent for what happened. 

Her family grew, and she got even closer to her brother, Rookstar, who became her best friend. Their kits, too, became best friends, as did their kits.

She even ended up with more littermates! She supported her family, and never told a soul what she did.

Her heart was starting to fail, and not long before she passed, Cicadakit, now Cicadatail, came to her on her deathbed and thanked her for saving them. They cried, and he stayed with her and her family when she passed. She just hoped Starclan would accept her.

I don't know much about Purpled's character but Forget-Me-Nots or Meadow Clover or Birdfoot Deervetch

Forget-Me-Nots: Do not forget me, Clinging to the past, memories. I just kinda think it fits with his whole UFO deal. A bunch of people I've seen headcanon the UFO as his only way back home and I just think the flower fits this headcanon :)

Meadow Clover: Revenge, I promise. I honestly don't why this fits but it's purple and he's got a bit of revenge thingy going on so-

Birdfood Deervetch: Revenge, Retribution. Mostly the retribution, which is defined as 'punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act'. Something about the UFO and Quackity :}

The proposed diversion is in realty a 50-year flood of polluted, chemical-laden Mississippi River water that will change the water composition of the Barataria Basin forever. Confusing nutrients with toxic chemicals from upriver farm runoffs, municipal waste systems, hundreds of manufacturing facilities and riverboats and barges doesn’t seem to be in anyone’s best interests.

A report generated by Environment Missouri concludes that more than 12.7 million pounds of toxics including nitrates, arsenic, benzene and mercury were dumped into the Mississippi River in 2010 alone; that number has obviously increased since then with additional industrial development up and down the river. Courtesy of MBSD, all those pollutants will end up in Barataria Bay and surrounding waters and in prime fishing, oystering and crabbing grounds that satisfy our appetites, support our restaurants and go a long way to defining our unique culture.

And while project advocates have spent a lot of time and millions of dollars branding the project as a “sediment” diversion, it is clearly not. Studies demonstrate that the Mississippi River carries only a quarter of the sediment it did in the 1950’s. The latest projections show that the water to sediment ratio generated by MBSD would be 98% water and only 2% sediment.

Moreover, despite claims that the project will somehow miraculously save our coast from the wrath of Mother Nature, the federal government’s own draft Environmental Impact Statement affirms that with the MBSD, total wetland acres would be 85,500 by 2070 but, with no action at all, the total wetland acres would be 72,800 in Barataria. The birdfoot delta would ultimately lose 2,900 wetland acres with the diversion than without it. This means an expenditure of nearly $2 billion to create a mere 9,800 acres – more than $204,000/per acre – of new marshland over 50 years.

Project planners claim that MBSD will reduce storm surge by one foot over that 50-year period through building 20 square miles of marsh. Yet forecasts show that sea levels may well rise by two feet by the year 2050. Clearly, MBSD will do nothing to reduce storm surge or lower flood insurance costs.

Casting MBSD as a job creation project is also disingenuous. It should be fully disclosed that the 7,500 jobs claimed in Maloz’s op-ed are construction centric and of a temporary nature, not permanent jobs Louisiana can build an economy around. And in no way are they a replacement for the nearly 35,000 jobs already provided for by Louisiana’s seafood industry, an industry that will be decimated by MBSD’s five decade long freshwater flood. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Impact Statement is unambiguous in stating that the project will result in “major, permanent, adverse impacts” on brown shrimp and oysters, two mainstays of our fishing economy and the jobs that depend on it. The trickle-down negative impacts on our tourism, hospitality and restaurant industries should not be hard to imagine.

Viable, proven and cost-effective alternatives do exist that can be built out in far less time, for far less money, with far greater impact than MBSD, although CPRA has consistently refused to consider them despite the fact that Louisiana has been using them for decades. These alternatives include dredging and strategic placement of rocks and berms to guard against and reduce erosion.
