HMB Word Darts: prompt for this one is Meeting The In-Laws ❤️
Marinette stretched and looked around at the full plane. It was six hours into the eight hour flight and she was anxious to be landing. She should have slept, she had meant to sleep, but her mind was blasting through very stressful scenarios instead.
“Nette, can you chill the fuck out?” Jason muttered from next to her. She blushed and grimaced apologetically but couldn't stop her leg from bouncing. Jason sighed and took her hand in his, stroking the back of it with his thumb. “What's on your mind?”
“I just…I haven't come back here since Hawkmoth was stopped and I don't know how to feel about it all. Like, I'm allowed to rage, be upset or whatever, but all I'm feeling is anxiety,” Marinette rambled, focusing on the calluses on his fingers and palm. They grounded her and made her exhale fully for the first time in an hour.
“You know, you still haven't totally explained the whole ‘Hawkmoth thing’ to me,” Jason remarked drily, frowning when she hesitated. “Mari, if you don't tell me I'll just assume the worst and I don't think either of us wants to deal with that.”
“Okay, okay,” she relented, squeezing his hand tightly. He didn't say anything and she blew out another breath before beginning. “So, I told you about Hawkmoth the emotional terrorist, right? And that the Justice League helped take him down about six months before you…returned to Gotham.
“Well, he was active before I came to Gotham. Like, very active and we had two superheroes: Ladybug and Chat Noir. They were young, like fourteen/fifteen when they started? But they beat his akumas and that's all that really matters.
“But then Ladybug went missing. She just stopped showing up and then there was a new Ladybug, Scarabella, who said she had to take over. And she was fine, Hawkmoth never got the earrings or ring, but they also didn't get anywhere with it?
“Anyway, after I spoke with Dinah and told her a little about my history she got the League to look into it,” she shrugged, still staring at Jason's fingers.
“...you realise that doesn't tell me nearly enough,” Jason said in a low voice, and Marinette knew that if she had the nerve to look him in the eye she would see a green taint. “Mari, please, just tell me whatever it is you're so afraid of.”
“I don't know, okay? The last time I was here I helped facilitate a conversation between the League and the local heroes. And that should have been amazing, I should have been thrilled to be a part of saving my home city. But all I could think was that it wasn't home anymore, and that I let everyone down.”
“That makes no sense,” Jason said after a brief and awkward silence. “How could you have let anyone down? You were a teenager and you lost your parents. It is a goddamned miracle that you didn't end up as a puppet for that Hawkmoth guy.”
“I guess you're right,” Marinette replied, knowing that he wasn't but not wanting to argue. He made a sound that crossed between a huff and a growl and she winced. “Look, everyone has secrets that they'd rather not share. All I can say right now is that I was connected to the heroes before I left. That's why I'm confident we can get their help now.”
Jason didn't say anything but his hand pulled away from hers before clenching into fists. Marinette wasn't sure what he was thinking but she was fairly sure the Pit was whispering awful things to him again. They had had long conversations about how he had come back differently and he had admitted that when the Pit was in the driver's seat he wasn't sure what lines he wouldn't cross.
It was the main reason he hadn't kissed her again, in spite of Marinette insisting that she would be fine. He had the idea that he would wind up hurting her if he spent too much time with her and nothing she said would change his mind.
The silence persisted through the remainder of the flight and he didn't break it until they were checking into a hotel. Once they were settled in their separate rooms, she knocked on the door that connected them.
“I don't know how to feel about you being connected to the heroes,” he said once they were sitting on his bed. She gave him a questioning look and he rubbed his face with both hands. “It just seems so twisted that we didn't tell you about the whole Robin thing so you didn't get hurt but, actually, you probably would've found it easier to talk to us if you'd known.”
“Yeah, believe me I've thought about it a lot,” she said in as light-hearted a tone as she could manage. “It all feels like some cosmic joke and I wish I could say that I found it funny but…it's just another thing I screwed up in the long list of my failures, I guess.”
“Hey, that's not true. You were a traumatised teenager and you had no idea if you could even trust us. It's not like we told you what was going on either,” Jason argued, pulling her into a hug. “If anyone's to blame for what happened, it's me and Bruce, not you.”
“How about we just agree not to blame ourselves,” Marinette laughed, holding carefully still so that he wouldn't push her away. “Anyway, the most important thing is that I know who the current Ladybug holder is and can probably get us face time with Tikki.”
“And Tikki is…”
“The Kwami of creation, counterpart to the Kwami of Destruction who has the whole green thing going on. She'd know if the Pit Madness is linked to Plagg.”
They chatted for a few minutes longer before Marinette stood and stretched. Jason gave her a quizzical look; she never ended a hug first.
“I already messaged my friend about meeting up but she hasn't got back to me yet. I figured I should probably visit the cemetery while I have some time,” she explained, staring out of the window rather than looking at him. “You don't have to come with me, I can call you when Alya gets back to me-”
“Of course I'm coming with you,” Jason said immediately, standing and grabbing his jacket. A wave of relief crashed through Marinette - she didn't want to go alone, but hadn't wanted to ask.
_ _ _
Jason wondered if he should feel weird, visiting a cemetery. Logically, he knew that he didn't remember crawling out of his grave but he still had flashes, sometimes. A feeling of slight claustrophobia, cool dirt under his nails and pressed against his face.
Perhaps if this was that cemetery, he would, but this Parisian cemetery was full of sunlight and fresh air. Not to mention he had Marinette with him, practically the only thing that he had in his new life that meant anything to him. So he was struggling to find anything to be anxious about.
“We're here,” she said softly, laying a bouquet of flowers on the twin graves in front of them. “Maman, Papa, this is the boy I told you about, Jason. Jason, my maman and papa, Sabine and Tom.”
Jason didn't say anything, a lump in his throat choking off any words he might have said. Marinette didn't seem to expect him to say anything anyway, her soft voice rambling on as she talked about everything and nothing.
She had just started talking about planning to see her friend when her phone rang. Apologising, she pulled it out of her pocket and stepped away. She was speaking very swiftly in French and Jason didn't bother trying to keep up.
“I’m sorry I never got the chance to meet you,” Jason said once Marinette was further away. He felt a little silly, talking to a couple of headstones, but Marinette had done it. “She talks about you now, but even before that I could tell she loved you. Whenever she talks about you she kind of…lights up a bit.”
He went silent, relieved there wasn't anyone else there to hear him talking to no-one. It wasn't too much longer before Marinette returned, looking pensive. She grinned sheepishly when he asked what was wrong.
“Well, my friend says she can meet up with us right away, but she's going to an event with our old class. So we can either wait until she's free next week, or suffer through rubbing elbows with a bunch of people I haven't seen in a long time. I'm inclined to head straight there so I can get some answers but I'd understand if you wanted to give it a miss and wait a little longer.”
“I don't think I want to waste any time on this,” Jason answered immediately. She beamed at him before leading him out of the cemetery and, hopefully, to answers.
_ _ _
As they approached the park outside the old collége, Marinette felt her eyes straying to the newly finished apartment buildings that stood where the bakery had previously. She had known it was happening, they had been blocking it off the last time she was here, but it still made her ache to see anything other than the bakery standing there.
“Marinette?! Oh my gosh, hi!” A pink blur launched herself at Marinette, who caught Rose easily. She hadn't changed much; her blonde hair was still in a pixie cut although there was now a hot pink streak running through it. Her clothes had aged with her and she sported pink jeans, a black vest and a white jacket, but she was still bright and bubbly.
“Hey Rose, long time no see,” Marinette replied softly, hugging the other girl back. Jason stayed back, not interrupting but not being too far away from her. “Alya mentioned you all were going to be here, I'm glad I managed to see you.”
There were excited shouts and greetings all around as Marinette came closer to everyone. She spotted Alya, who grinned at her, standing with Nino and Adrien. She made her way around everyone she could before reaching the trio and gave Alya a tight hug.
“Girl, it's been way too long,” Alya said in a low voice, full of affection. Nino took a turn squeezing her as well, although Adrien merely lifted an awkward hand in greeting. “How have you been? I haven't seen you since, what, a year ago?”
“Something like that,” Marinette said, smiling before she gestured for Jason to step closer. “Jason, these are my old classmates, Alya, Nino and  Adrien. All of you, this is Jason Todd.”
“Nice to meet you all,” Jason said, not stepping close enough for any of them to touch him. “Nette’s told me about you all before, it's nice to be able to put faces to names.”
“I wish I could say I'd heard of you,” Alya replied, gaze turning inquisitive behind her lenses. “But as I said, Marinette and I don't actually talk too often anymore. So what brings you-”
“Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I'm late everyone! I was just helping one of the heroes with a statement to the Italian Embassy and lost track of time.”
Marinette felt a detached amusement when she turned and saw her one-time enemy, Lila Rossi. The young woman was dressed in a ridiculously poofy dress, the sleeves almost comically wide. Her looks hadn't overly changed, her hair still in ponytails.
“Wow, Lila, that's so cool,” Juleka muttered, blushing when everyone looked at her. Marinette refrained from rolling her eyes - it was hard to get worked up about someone lying for clout when it didn't impact her directly, after everything she had been through.
“Yeah, it's really something else,” Alya said through slightly gritted teeth. Marinette almost jolted when she realised that Alya would obviously know that Lila was lying now. With a vague sense of detachment, she wondered whether Alya had tried to call the other girl out at all.
“Alya, just leave it,” Adrien muttered, giving Alya a reproachful look. Marinette looked at him quizzically, curious as to why he was trying to talk Alya down. “The high road, remember? It'll all come out in due time.”
Nino didn't seem to be paying the pair much attention, but Marinette was very interested in what was going on. Alya took a deep breath, and forced a smile back onto her face. She turned back to Marinette and released the breath before moving past it.
“Anyway, what were you saying? About why you're back in Paris?” Alya continued, brow furrowed in concern. “And who's tall, dark and handsome back there? Jason, you said, right?”
“It's…complicated,” Marinette hedged, glancing at Adrien and Nino briefly. “I kind of need to talk to our little friend, T? And maybe our other mutual friend, P?”
“Oh,” Alya said, eyes widening behind her glasses. “Right, okay, sure thing girl. Is it, like, time sensitive or…”
“The sooner the better, honestly. I know you're having a party right now, if you could just let CN know that I need to talk to P, I can wait for him somewhere-”
“Um, give me twenty minutes? And then the party should be in full swing and I won't have to watch every little thing.”
It was more like half an hour later, and Alya dragged Jason and her away to a secluded alleyway. She pulled up short when she saw both Adrien and Nino standing there, looking confused and a little concerned.
“Okay, so this is going to be a little awkward. Mari knows about me,” Alya said to the other two. Nino nodded, but Adrien started, his eyes wide and brow furrowed. “Honestly, if Mari hadn't chosen me, I wouldn't be who I am, so…”
There was a pause as Nino and Adrien looked at her confusedly before something apparently twigged. Nino did a double take and made a noise of comprehension. Adrien's was by far a more comical reaction. He flushed red and practically jumped towards Marinette.
“Wait, you were Ladybug?” Adrien whisper-shouted, grabbing hold of Marinette's shoulders. She winced almost imperceptibly and Jason snarled as he grabbed Adrien's upper arms. “Sorry, I'm sorry, it's just- I can't believe it was you, all that time.”
“The fuck does he mean, you were Ladybug?” Jason hissed, eyes beginning to glow green. Marinette felt a distant panic, not knowing how to pull him back. But apparently she needn't have worried because Plagg was suddenly in his face, staring at him.
“Pigtails, how did you find someone who's been in the Lazarus Pits?” Plagg asked, his tiny body inches from Jason's face. “Don't you know how embarrassing it is to have awful things you created waved in your face? How would you like it if I found something you made when you were a kid and showed everyone?”
“Plagg, this is not the time,” Tikki chided, floating over to Marinette and nuzzling her cheek. “It is so good to see you again, Marinette! But you should tell your boy to put Adrien down.”
Jason released Adrien slowly, the green in his eyes flickering out as Plagg continued to hover in his face. Marinette watched as Plagg flew even closer and settled himself on Jason's nose, still staring unblinkingly. Her gaze flickered to Adrien, who was staring at her in amazement.
“Okay, so this is mind blowing for obvious reasons,” Marinette said, stunned. “But Plagg, the Pits are the reason we're here. Jason was exposed to them and it's making him a little-”
“Full of rage?” Plagg said snarkily, floating over to her. “Pigtails, the Pits are evil and if he was exposed to them…”
“I know, that's why we're here. Jason was a little bit dead a couple of years ago and now he's not but he's got Pit Madness. When I saw the green, I thought of you and we were hoping you would be able to help,” Marinette explained, only flinching slightly when she said ‘dead’.
“How can someone be ‘a little bit dead’?” Adrien asked incredulously, inching closer to Marinette again until Jason growled at him.
“She means I was very dead but, through some magic bullshit, I'm not anymore. But the Pit Madness is making things a lot harder and she's hoping someone here can fix me,” Jason said, conveying through tone that he didn't think they could.
“I just want you to feel normal again, Jay,” Marinette said softly, touching his hand. Alya shot her a scrutinising look but didn't say anything. “So, can you help?”
“Sure thing, Bug,” Plagg said, eyes glowing brighter. Jason turned rigid, eyes wide and also glowing. Tikki shrieked and cut them off before it could go any further.
“Plagg, what are you thinking?! Don't you remember what happened last time you cleansed someone of Pit Madness?” Tikki chastised. “If we're going to do this, we need to get him lying down. And maybe have a bucket to hand,” she added thoughtfully.
Marinette glanced at Alya before announcing that their hotel would be the best place to go.
_ _ _
Marinette paced in her room, Nino sitting on her bed as they waited for Alya, Adrien and the Kwamis to finish whatever the heck they were doing to cleanse Jason. She had tried sitting still but she had picked at her fingers so much that they had started bleeding.
“It's awesome to see you by the way, Dudette,” Nino said at last, looking up from the music app on his phone. Marinette shot him a tight grin but didn't say anything back. “And it's really freaking cool that you used the earrings before Alya.”
“It was a lifetime ago,” Marinette muttered, fingers stroking her ear lobes absentmindedly. “I can't believe you know about Alya and Adrien, but she didn't tell you about me.”
“Yeah, but it wasn't really her secret to tell,” Nino said in that relaxed way of his. “Thanks for trusting Als with everything when you had to go, she's been a really good hero.”
“I knew she would be,” Marinette said quietly. They lapsed into silence until both Adrien and Alya came out of the adjoining room. Immediately she was upon them. “How's he doing?”
“Tikki says he's going to be fine,” Alya reassured her. “But it's going to be several hours before you can go in to see him. Which gives us plenty of time to catch up, okay? Starting with how Jason got exposed to the Pits.”
“Well, he was killed in a joker attack…” Marinette began, launching into a brief explanation of Jason's story. Or at least, in so much as she knew it. Adrien's eyes were fixed on her as she talked but she mostly just stared at the door separating her from Jason.
The others were silent while she spoke, and for a time afterwards. Marinette paid them very little mind as she waited for Tikki to come and explain what was happening. So she was surprised when Adrien came and sat down next to her.
“It is so good to see you again, M'lady,” he whispered, grinning brightly at her. She smiled back, but the old panic that used to come when Adrien looked at her didn't surface. “I can't believe that we were in the same class.”
“It is a little crazy,” Marinette said, a giggle bubbling up. “God, if I'd known you were Chat I don't think I would've been as nervous to talk to you. I used to have such a crazy crush on you.”
“Wait, are you telling me that I was the other boy?” Adrien's eyes were wide and it made Marinette giggle even harder. She was gasping for breath as she nodded, the situation finally fully hitting her. “This isn't funny, Bugaboo!”
“Yes it is,” she gasped back, tears of mirth prickling her eyes. “It's almost…as funny…as Lila…saying she…was with the heroes…when you were…right there…”
“Ugh, don't get me started on that,” Alya grumbled, throwing herself dramatically onto Marinette's bed. “Girl, why didn't you stop me from putting the video of her claiming to be Ladybug's best friend on my blog? I can't believe I fell for that.”
“Jagged Stone's pet kitten, anyone?” Marinette said, snorting when Nino leveled a tired look at her. “She was so obvious with her lies, but now I guess I get why you were a little willing to believe her, chaton.”
The conversation turned to complaining about people lying for clout, Adrien sharing some crazy fan stories and Marinette talking about famous people at galas who somehow still did it, bragging about knowing the Gotham Bat because they'd been saved once.
It successfully distracted Marinette and she jumped when the interconnecting door opened, revealing a pale Jason. Immediately, she leaped to her feet and pulled him over to the bed so she could check him. She was completely oblivious to Adrien handing Plagg some camembert, or Alya letting Tikki nestle in her hair.
“Mari, chill out, I'm fine,” Jason said at last, although his voice rasped slightly, like he'd been throwing up. “The little demon cat thing purged me or whatever, I'm just tired.”
“Well excuse me for worrying,” Marinette sniped back, forcing his chin to point in her direction so she could look in his eyes. “May I point out that you were just cleansed of Pit Madness by miniature gods who have the powers of creation and destruction? They're cute but Plagg literally sank Atlantis and destroyed the dinosaurs.”
“Pigtails, I'm pretty sure I said not to bring up my past failures,” grumbled Plagg from inside Adrien's pocket.
“Sorry,” Marinette said, sounding anything but. She continued to stare at Jason, even after she was sure he was okay, until Alya cleared her throat. She looked questioningly at the current heroine, head tilted slightly.
“If Plagg and Tikki are done here, I'm pretty sure all Jason needs now is rest,” Alya said warmly. “And I'm sorry to cut a very entertaining visit short, but I have to get to work. And Adrien, you have that appointment?”
After that, Marinette was left alone with Jason. She promised they would be in Paris for a little longer and that they could meet up for dinner in that time. Then, she crawled onto the bed next to Jason, resting her head on the same pillow.
“Hey,” he whispered, turning to look at her. His eyes were so blue and so much clearer than they had been that she couldn't make a sound. “I guess this means I don't have to worry about being a danger to you anymore.”
“Mhm.” Marinette didn't know what else to say, her heart swelling in her chest. Tentatively, she moved until she was resting her head on his shoulder, his arm curving around her.
They lay like that until they both fell asleep and Marinette knew that she would have the best sleep since before donning the mantle of Ladybug.

Who made me a Villain (3)
[Masterlist] [Ao3]
(Part 1) (Part 2)(here) (Part 4)
------
Rebel hummed to the tune of Jagged Stone’s newest single as she spray-painted her newest masterpiece on the wall of some office building. The full moon shone bright enough for her to see without the need for a flashlight.
Then a dark shadow loomed over her.
Rebel ignored the glare Batman was giving her, focusing on the shading of her mural.
“Rebel.” came his one-worded demand.
She didn’t look at him and took a step back to admire her nearly finished handiwork instead.
“I feel like something is missing here.” she said, slightly tilting her head and tapping her lips in thought. Or the approximate location where her lips would be since the lower half of her face was covered by a mask.
Batman kept staring at her. Perfectly still but his impatience was still obvious from his body language.
“Oh.” She clapped her hands as inspiration struck her. “What if I added some thorny vines here?” she said. She motioned with her hand where the vines would spread out from her portrait of Poison Ivy.
“Add a subtle threat, don’t you think so, Monsieur Bat?” She turned around to face him, finally acknowledging his presence.
“Rebel.” He narrowed his eye lenses to show that he was giving her the ‘tired dad glaring at her’ face.
“It’s not like I am doing anything bad.” She shrugged her shoulders and rummaged through her duffel bag for her green paint can.
“You are vandalising the property.”
“So do you on a regular basis.”
“Hn.” He grunted, not able to refute that statement.
A snort came from behind her, “Hah. She got you there, B.”
Rebel jumped, startled.
“Damn it, Robin. You know I hate it when you bat-people sneak up on me like that.”
Robin just smirked at her.
“This is completely unfair, you know. Ganging up on me like this.” Rebel complained as she uncapped her green spray paint can and shook it.
“What do you know about the Red Hood?”
Oh no. Rebel hated that voice of Batman. If she was on less friendlier terms with Batman, like the Penguin, she probably would have been thrown to the wall. She would have to get an arm cast, just like the Penguin had for the past month.
Rebel paused in what she was doing.
“Why are you asking me about that?” She asked, genuinely confused about why Batman had asked her of all people about the newest vigilante/maybe villain in Gotham. “Like you aren’t the head of the Rebellion, the biggest gang in all of Gotham.” Robin said, with a wide grin. “And best information network on all things criminal.”
“Don’t call me that.” Rebel groaned.
People seemed to think the ‘Rebellion’ worked for her no matter how much she corrected them on the misunderstanding and she was getting tired of correcting them.
“I am not leading the gang. I am just their consultant. For commiting crimes. A Consulting Criminal if you will. They were shit at planning so all I did was come up with the plans. They get great results and a good rep. I get paid. Mutually beneficial arrangement. Just because they named themselves after me, doesn’t mean I lead them.”
“Riiight.” Robin didn’t sound convinced. “Anyway, you gotta have heard something.”
Rebel sighed.
“Red Hood. Red Hood.”
She tried to remember what Lay, her main contact with the gang and the actual leader of the Rebellion, said at their last regular meet-up at Bat-burger.
“Oh, the decapitated-heads guy.”
Batman’s face became frownier. Rebel took that as a sign to continue.
“Yeah, the guy showed up at the latest meet of every top group in Gotham. The big players, you know. Which was only held in the first place to discuss what they were going to do about him.”
Rebel chuckled at the slight irony of it. She had turned back from Batman to continue on her mural.
“Ten minutes in. He showed up with a duffel bag filled with the heads of every lieutenant. Said that he accomplished the act within two hours. Doesn’t seem to be a lie. Lay said that she last saw Erwin’s head on his neck 2 hours before the meeting.”
The sounds of spraying paint stops. She grabbed a new can and shook it.
“He threatened them to give him a cut of our profits each month and laid down a few strict rules. Lay said it was all already what we are doing. Don’t involve kids. Don’t sell drugs to kids. Main point, don’t get kids involved in the drug trafficking shit. And human trafficking.”
“Anything else?”
“She thinks the Red Hood dude is trying to be some enforcer type guardian angel of Crime Alley. Described him as a big guy. Built like a fucking tank and wears leather. No face because he has a red helmet even though he called himself Red Hood. The name sounds like that old gang Harley told me, used to run around with Joker.”
“Joker did once have a crew that called themselves the Red Hood.” Batman mused. “He also called himself that too.”
“Thank you for your help. Let’s go, Robin.”
“Bye, Rebel. I will come see your painting when you are done.”
Rebel absentmindedly sent them a wave. Too focused on her mural.
-
A moment later, a dark shadow blocked her light again.
Rebel sighed. “What more do you want from me?” She turned to give a glare to Batman.
Only to see that it wasn’t Batman.
Rebel squinted.
“You are the new big bad in town that everyone is gossiping about, right? Decapitating heads and taking over the drug market scene.”
“So you heard of me.” Red Hood stepped closer towards her. She remained unfazed.
“I try to keep up with the latest gossip in the city.” Rebel shrugged. She tilted her head, “Any reasons why you came to see me? I hope it’s not to kill me.”
She said as if being killed was just a mild inconvenience. But that’s just how most Gothamite lived their lives
“Rebel. Relatively new to the Rogues Gallery. Mainly works with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. And… Daughter of the Joker. Following in your father’s footsteps, are you?”
Rebel’s face became dark.
“I do not like associating myself with him. I am more of… the occasional chaos maker than whatever insane and mad thing he usually does.”
“Is that Daddy issue I hear?”
“Are you sure you aren’t just projecting?” She was definitely smirking under that mask.
“Fuck no.”
Rebel laughed as she stepped closer to Red Hood, unafraid. His stature meant that he completely dwarfed her petite figure but he still subconsciously took a step back.
Whether or not Rebel didn’t like to be related to him. They sounded the same, especially when they laughed.
“Because I am pretty sure you are the one with Daddy Issues. After all, it comes with the territory of being a Robin. Having the Big Bat for a father.”
How did she-
Red Hood whipped out his pistol. The nozzle was a few inches away from blowing Rebel’s head off.
“How do you know?” He growled out.
“Like, it’s hard?” Rebel moved the gun away from her head. “Besides, the writer won’t be happy if I spoil a story which everyone already knows.”
“What on earth are you talking about?”
Rebel hummed instead of answering like the little shit the rumours claimed to be and said, “How many Jokers can be found in a pack of cards?”
“For someone who claims not to be like her sperm donor, you sure do have that same vague philosophy thing going on.”
Rebel frowned. Jason thought he finally hit a nerve on the teenager.
“Two Jokers.” She calmly continued instead of getting angry like he thought she would. “In countries like Germany, you can find three in a deck. In video games, you often get three lives. Unless you have a cheat code. Or get very lucky. Or you don’t die, ever because you are in creative mode.”
“What are you trying to say?” Red Hood demanded, done with Rebel’s riddle-talk.
“What I am trying to say is, Buckethead. You do have to wonder, despite all the wrong he has caused, why no one has managed to off him yet.”
“My name is Red Hood.”
Rebel walked to the edge of the roof, stepping up onto the parapet wall.
“Whatever you say. Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Buckethead.” Rebel said, turning to face Red Hood. A few inches was the only thing that kept her from falling to death.
Red Hood tensed, realising what Rebel was going to do as she leaned backwards.
“NO!”
Rebel took a step back.
The former Robin leaped and tried to catch her. He failed, missing her fingers by a few centimetres.
After what felt like an eternity, he stared unseeing at the corpse decorating the sidewalk below and twisted at an awkward angle. The sickening splat when her body hit rang in his ears. The streetlight nearby illuminated it like it was some grotesque artwork.
What the fuck just happened?
Jason’s thoughts were jumbled as he tried to make sense of it.
The girl just stepped off a roof. She didn’t even use a grappling hook, no secret trampoline on the ground or even a rope. Just stepped off and Bam!
She was lying dead on the ground.
Was she insane? Given her father, it would make sense but why jump off a roof without a back-up plan?
Red Hood sat there for a while in shock and tried to collect himself. A girl, he was talking to, killed herself for no reason. That was fine. It wasn’t important. He shouldn’t care. She was the clown’s daughter. All the more reason he shouldn’t care that she just died in front of him.
But he did care. Despite the fact that he had only talked to her for a few minutes.  He had killed people without mercy but the fact that he couldn’t save the daughter of his murderer made him feel… like a failure.
The clank of metal broke him out of his reverie. He looked up to see a very much breathing, walking and very much alive Rebel who had a deer-in-headlights look as she was caught slowly putting her paint cans back into her duffel bag.
“What?” He gasped out, his voice coming a tad hysterical. He slowly looked over the edge of the roof. The bloodstain was still there but the body was gone. Like Rebel’s corpse had gotten up on its own, walked away, gotten up to the roof via the fire escape and currently, standing in front of him.
Jason closed his eyes and opened them again. Nope, the bloodstain from her fall was still there on her jacket.
“How- how did you- ” Jason swallowed before asking the obvious.
“How am I alive?” Rebel shrugged. “I just am. I am alive so I am.”
“And you are fine.”
He looked at her leg which he had last seen being bent at an unnatural angle moments earlier.
“No one could survive that fall.” He said.
“Eh. I did.”
“That’s cause…” Jason got struck by a horrible realisation, “The Joker is an immortal motherfucker, isn’t he?”
“In a way. Yes.”
“What do you mean ‘in a way’?”
Rebel opened her mouth.
Then thunder boomed and lightning struck the nearest lamppost. Making it dark for a moment before the lights came back on. No rain fell from the sky.
“Alright! I will keep my mouth shut. Happy?” Rebel screamed at the sky. Then, she gave Red Hood an apologetic look.
“Sorry, looks like I am not allowed to tell you.”
“Why the fuck not?”
“Someone would be angry if I revealed too much of its secrets.”
“Who? The universe?”
“Yes.”
“I can’t tell if you are genuinely insane or your life is actually that crazy.”
“I would like to think that it is both. But you got the message, right?”
“The Joker can’t die by any means. He will just come back to life.”
“Eh. Close enough.”
Jason was quiet for a moment.
“Does that mean he can still feel pain?”
“When I fell off the roof, I felt my bones break so I am going to say yes.” Rebel replied as she finished packing up her things.
“How the fuck is he even an immortal anyways?”
Rebel looked around, looking for a sign that she won’t be hit by divine punishment if she told Red Hood the answer. When there was no thunder.
She answered, “This sounds the most hippie shit ever but the closest analogy I can think of. Imagine that the Universe is a writer and our lives are the stories it writes. It loves a good story. The story of Batman and Joker is one of them. Because it is such a good story. It never wants it to end and it has the choice to not write an ending. So the Joker is written to be the most evil, the silliest, the most dangerous, the luckiest, the smartest and the most insane man to ever walk the planet so he can be Batman’s enemy in a war forever locked in a stalemate. Until the Universe gets tired of the story.”
“And then, what?”
“I wouldn’t know. I have never heard of a story that ended.”
Jason stared at his hand and closed it into a fist. “Is that why I am alive? Why you are still alive?”
Rebel shrugged as she picked up her duffel bag. “Probably. Then again,” She walked to the edge of the roof, stepping onto the parapet wall.
Jason got hit with intense deja vu.
“I might have made the entire thing up just to mess with you.” Rebel said as she stepped back for the second time that day.
Instinct made him try to grab her again. This time, however, he watched her hands glow and a portal appeared under her. She disappeared through it and the portal closed.
Red Hood stood there on the rooftop, blankly staring at Rebel’s half-finished mural when he heard a familiar thud behind him. That’s when he finally realised her plan.
He laughed and then turned to face Batman. Right on cue, thunder boomed and rain fell.

(Batman & The Signal #3)
The more I read about Duke the more I realise the fandom knows literally nothing about Duke except:
"he's a Robin!" (not really, by any real standards of 'Robin'. He was a leader in We Are Robin, but he's never worked with any Batman under that title)
He's one of Batman's kids! (he was fostered for MAYBE 18 months our time and his parents were also living at the Manor at the same time. He's been with relatives since early 2018: first his cousin Jay and now I believe his mum Elaine since 2022 or so?)
He is a meta with light-based powers (which he does not discover until Dark Nights: Metal and rarely uses on page instead of hitting things with batons)
The other Batkids consider him a sibling! (Uhhh well he has a relationship with Cass, and appeared in several family group scenes while he was fostered, which mostly noted that none of the others knew him as more than 'the new kid'; since he moved out of the Manor he has not done so)
Look, at this point he's an outer Bat family member, on a similar level to Harper Row, Helena Bertinelli, Julia Pennyworth, Luke Fox or maybe at best Stephanie Brown.
Unless you're talking about WFA he's not an inner circle character who is a 'Wayne'.

Why Batcest is not only harmful but also dosen't work with the characters
Jason has explicitly stated he's disgusted at the thought of kissing his brothers(any of his four brothers was his exact wording i.e Batcest!Jason is debunked but core Batkid!Duke is canon)and shown dislike for older men on the basis of being older men at multiple points, ntm he's implied to have a daddy kink on the recieving end but he's also anti-sa(pushing a man off a roof as Robin for running a sex trafficking ring and killing a pedophillic teacher for abusing one of his student's)
Dick is romani,Cass is an easian woman and Damian is arab and there's stereotypes about inherently being into incest against all three of those groups
While this rarely happens,Duke Batcest is racist too because of the deep,DEEP history behind incestous abuse on black people by antiblacks and incest fetishes presented as 'gay culture' are a result of the whitewashing of queer history to exclude and demonize black people and include incestous white abusers
Devin Grayson has apologized for her B.rudick writings and said it was a bad coping mechanism on her part she should've never written that only hurt her further and was offensive to other survivors on her part, especially ones of color
'Batman and Robin are a gay metaphor' is not something actual comics writers belived and was simply an innapropriate rumor spread by the pedophiles of the time looking for validation and the actual comics writers created love interests for Dick and Bruce to dispell the rumors because they were correctly disgusted and offended at the implication they were writing an adult man as dating his adoptive elementary school aged son and the fact the LI in question were female is irrelevant and not 'homophobic' as they were trying to avoid homophobic stereotyping with them in addition to the decent human being thing called 'hating pedophiles in all contexts'
While T!mcass was indeed canon at one point, this was all pre-Cass adoption when they weren't completely concrete on where her character was going but post-Cass adoption, these elements of implied romance between them were removed and completely ignored
Bruce's dynamic with Dick is described as a mix between brothers and father and son,Jason,Tim,Cass and Duke textually view Bruce as good as a biodad,Bru.dami has zero canon incarnations and with the exception of Stephanie,The Batkids all have multiple instinces of refering to eachother as siblings both individually and as (a) group
Relatedly(lmao),Robins 2022 was mid and a waste of paper for the exact reason of the Duke exclusion to pander to the Four Batboys + 'Token' Stephanie fanonization that is universally present in Batcest fake fan content. There's no Robins without Duke and there's no Batkids with Batcest. The BatCREST is the FAMILY legacy for a reasons sweetcakes

Hear me out for something Silly. Jack is not Tim's biological parent. Jack, Janet, and Tim all know this. So does Tim's biological parent. Tim does have contact with his Biodad and they do get along wonderfully. When he has time off from his very busy job and thinks it's safe, he will 100% drop by Gothem to see his son. Even if they can't see eachother a lot, Tim and his dad are still very close.
As for how this happened, Janet and Jack had a three way with a *very* interesting stranger about the time Tim would have been conceived. Since he didn't exactly look like Jack, they did a DNA test and then called the guy and asked him to do a DNA test. He told them he would but only if he got his DNA back after the test. Just one of his weird quirks that worked as Rizz on the pair.
Honestly though, it's nothing short of a miracle that they got The Question of all heroes to do a paternity test, but then again. He has always wanted to be a dad and this is an opportunity that just fell into his lap! And the day he walked into his son of 7 years old standing infront of a corkboard covered in pictures and string? It was the proudest day of his life. He had little Tim talk him through all of the strings and explain his theory and Tim started by smacking his little hand on the board and saying in the most manic voice, "BATMAN IS BRUCE WAYNE."
By the end, Question was pacing around the room as Tim also paced around the room, both rambling at eachother as they used Bruce's connections to uncover who well over half the leauge are. Does Question feel a little guilty about finding out his coworkers identities? Maybe. But he doesn't care, he's bonding with his son! His son is brilliant!! Not even he knew who Batman was!!! He could never have been prouder and it nearly made him cry.
Years later when Tim became Robin, he freely told Question about it and while Question didn't approve fully, he knew there was nothing he could do to stop his brilliant, wonderful, adorable, *stubborn* son. Tim could out stubborn a hundred mules, just like both his mother and his father. Maybe he could even out stubborn the both of them, as evidence by Question being the one to cave first. He caved on the condition that Tim get *proper* training and go to a few people of his choosing after he trains under the people that Bruce wants him to train under. Tim agrees and gets a few extra teachers in his time away.
Tim does not tell the Bats that Question is his Dad, simply assuming that if he could figure out who they were at 7 years old, they can figure out something as simple as who his parent is. Turns out, all of the Bats think that Jack Drake is his father and he doesn't find this out until Jack dies. When he does so, Bruce asks where Tim is going to stay and he replies, "with my Dad and his wife, obviously." To which there is quite a bit of confusion until Tim scoffs and crosses his arms as he states, "Jack Drake was never my father. He and Mother were very open about the fact that they had a 3 way and the other guy there is my biological father. I've been in contact with him regularly since I was 3. Sure he's not there all the time but he makes sure to visit minimum once a month. Usually at least twice a week. He's a good person and I'll be fine living with him and his wife. Hell, he's been trying to get me to move in with him for years anyways! Honestly, I thought you already knew this Bruce. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see my Dad." And simply walked out if the cave.
The Bats. Don't know who his father is. Nor for lack of trying though. His dad is The Question that man leaves no evidence of anywhere he has been and never walks into cameras. He leaves just enough that they know he's real. Jason has seen the man with his own two eyes and swears he is a red head, but the man vanished before Jason could say a word to him. However Damian saw Tim talking to someone with black hair and and blue coat on patrol, but didn't get a look at his face. The guy was gone before Damian could get there and Tim tells him that it was his dad doing a mid patrol check in, which he does sometimes.
There is nearly a very big fight about civilians and identity hiding until Tim snaps, "HE KNEW FROM THE DAY I KNEW. HE HELPED ME WITH MY FUCKING EVIDENCE BOARD AND ENCOURAGED ME. BESIDES, HES NOT EVEN A CIVILIAN ANYWAYS!" And before anyone can question it, he goes on a long rant about how it can't be that hard to piece together who his dad is because they haven't been hiding it from them At All and how disappointed he is in them. As he does so, he is texting someone and when asked who, Tim snaps, "my Dad! I'm telling him to come to the Batcave because you're all idiots who couldn't find the link between us!" This leads to Bruce getting angry about inviting strangers to the Batcave and Tim scoffs about Bruce having invited his dad there before.
30 minuets later, when The Question walks in and says, "Hello Batman." Bruce turns to him to ask why he's there but Tim cuts in and says, "finally! Dad, can you believe that none of these idiots put it together?! They have no idea were related!" And Question just says, "but. We've been living together for nearly a year. I've known you all your life and you are the greatest thing I've ever helped to create." And Tim blushes a bit at the last part but plays it off by insulting The Bats, "right? And they call themselves Detectives!"
They spend the next hour roasting the Bats together and also mentioning off the walls crazy theories that are actually true.
Years later when Tim goes on the Brucequest, he doesn't go alone. He shows his evidence to his dad and Question and Huntress both come with him to help. Tim doesn't loose his spleen thanks to them but they do have to team up with the LOA because they have Tam held hostage. They also blow up the leauge but all credit goes to Tim and when they get Bruce back, they try to give credit to Tim but the Leauge just points at Question and Huntress and says, "those two did it."
Holy shit. This AU is fantastic.
I do not know nearly enough about Question, and you've pointed out the errors in my ways. I should know more about him because you are absolutely correct (also, AUs that speculate who can be Tim's bio parents are hilarious to me).
Fuck. I just binged some of his content (a very small amount), and I swear to gods this man is hilarious. His dry wit, conspiracy theories, humor, and overall demeanor is grand. I should find more.
Anyways, I absolutely love how Jack, Janet, and Question are peacefully coparenting. There's no drama or tension. Jack isn't jealous or mad. They just raise Tim together.
Tim and Question bonding over theories, research, stalker tendencies (referencing when Question said he goes through everyone's trash), and pin boards is adorable. This is a friendship/mentor bond I didn't know I needed in my life until now.
I'm also vibing with Question messing with the Bats while Tim us legitimately confused how they haven't figured anything out yet.
I'm also imagining post Jack's funeral (if this is a good dad Bruce AU), that Bruce turns to the newly orphaned Tim. He has adoption papers metaphorically behind his back and does a blue screen at realizing that Tim has been hiding even more parents all this time. It seems his adoption addictions were stopped this time, dagnabbit.

Danny taking Red Robin by the face: stop thinking of yourself as a disappointment to your parents be disappointed in them instead
Danny @ Red Hood: idk why you think I'd know what your dad thinks I only deal with the dead
Dc x Dp Prompt #41
Daniel Nightingale, previously known as Fenton, was on the watchlist of all the bats.
Not too long after Nightingale arrived to Gotham, something strange began to happen. The dead began to walk.
But not zombies that mindlessly arose and killed others, but people that have been deemed dead all over Gotham have suddenly appeared out of nowhere. And what was even stranger, was that they all seemed to be looking for Nightingale, follow him to wherever they went, before never being seen again.
Now they were following him to see what he could have been doing. Necromancy? The Lazarus Pits? Some sort of demon spell?
Danny on the other hand, began to notice how the ectoplasm became more palpable in presence. No doubt Gotham herself feeding on his power to become stronger.
But another thing that he noticed was that many ghosts came to him one after another. Either asking him to help them move on or to do them a last favor before they did. All of which he was willing to do since it was so easy.
Though, on the downside, he seems to have caught some attention of some bats and birds in the process.

more jaytim actors au tidbits
a good chunk of the cast are close and did know about jason and tim before they were revealed publicly
tim was never technically "out" but he also wasn't really "closeted" either
steph offered to be tims beard and even tho he turned her down, the paparazzi still got pictures of them hanging out (platonically) and spread rumors of them dating
jason and roy became best friends irl after meeting on set (their friendship is what inspired the writers to start an outlaws subplot which had a backdoor pilot and spawned a spinoff)
bruce isnt damians biodad irl, but he is a close family friend and filled that role for him periodically over the years (he doesn't know his biodad bc talia had him via sperm donor on her own)
dick didn't actually date kori or babs (only in the show) and despite many rumors that they dated irl too, he's actually dating a different costar 🤫🤭

Onto Day 20 of @maribat-calendar-events Maribat BioFamily September and we're back in my BioDad Bruce Wayne AU!
Marinette sat in the exam hall, powering through her maths paper as fast as she could. She had been working hard in her classes and was confident that she was going to pass with flying colours. So taking her time seemed pointless and she was determined to enjoy the very little sunshine that was peeking through the constant cloud cover.
When she was finally free, she raced out of the room, dropping her paper on the teacher's desk. She breathed in deeply when she stepped outside, smiling up at the weak sunlight. She missed the sunny afternoons she used to enjoy in Paris, and still felt the dull ache of missing her parents.
When Alfred turned up to take her and Jason home she was quiet, though she didn't feel as hopeless as she did when she had first arrived. She felt like they were starting to get to a place where she could start healing from the loss, not only of her parents, but of her friends too.
She had begun to talk to Jason a lot more, about her parents, about the life she had left behind in Paris. In turn he'd shared some of the details of his upbringing, such as it was. Of the man who had died at the hands of Two Face and the woman who had overdosed not long before he met Bruce.
And he had told her excitedly of the woman that it turned out might be his biological mother. She had been sad but encouraged him to do what he could to find her. After all, as they both well knew, there was no guarantee that family would still be there later.
When they arrived back at the manor that afternoon, however, Jason was whisked away by Bruce to talk about something privately. Marinette, used to these little tête-a-têtes, sat down in the kitchen with Alfred. She chatted about her favourite recipes and baked goods. It had taken a long time for her to get comfortable with talking about anything related to her parents, but it was slowly improving.
After a solitary dinner, Marinette wandered over to Jason's room, curious. When she arrived, he was packing a bag, flitting around the room anxiously. She cleared her throat and knocked firmly. He cursed when he dropped what he was holding but turned to her and grinned.
“Hey Mari,” he said, resuming packing. She stepped into the room, picking up a shirt he had dropped near the door. She waited patiently as he rushed around, throwing everything into his bag. Eventually he stopped and sat on the bed, glancing over to her. “Bruce found a lead on her. Sheila, I mean.”
“Oh! That's good news, right?” Marinette was pleased for him, even as envy spiked through her gut. She knew that their situations were actually pretty similar, parents he had known his whole life being dead only to have someone new who might fill the space. But he had had time to grieve his first parents before finding Sheila, so he was only excited.
“Yeah, only I have to travel to find her,” he grimaced, taking the shirt from her hands and stuffing it into the bag. He wasn't looking at her any more, twiddling the straps to his bag nervously. “It means I won't be here for a while, I'm sorry.”
Marinette focused on her breathing for a moment. She knew she didn't have a claim to Jason's time, that she was just someone who had been foisted into his life, but he had been hugely supportive. And she would be lying if she said she wasn't harbouring a small crush, even as she tried to push it down.
“I mean, if you need me here, I can stay,” he said after a few minutes, sincerity obvious in his tone. But Marinette shook her head, knowing that Jason was desperate to find his mother.
“No, you have to go. It's not like you get the chance to find a parent every day, and you don't want to be t-too late,” she felt a cold lump settle in her stomach and wrapped her arms around her middle. “Just…just promise you'll come back as soon as you can?”
“Promise,” Jason said, beaming at her before jumping back up and grabbing the bag. He faltered as he touched the door handle. “Listen, Bruce isn't exactly thrilled with the idea of me going to find her. Will you cover for me? Just say we're doing homework or something and then that I went to bed early? I don't want him trying to stop me.”
“Sure thing, Jay.”
_ _ _
When Marinette woke up the following day, Alfred was knocking on her door and reminding her that she needed to have breakfast. She was sitting at the breakfast bar when Bruce swept into the room to talk to Alfred. Marinette was surprised; Bruce was usually even more chronically late to things by sleeping in than she had been.
“He isn't in his room.” Marinette froze, dropping the cutlery as she flicked her gaze to the adults in the room. Alfred gave her a quick, searching look, which she couldn't hold. Bruce turned towards her, as though he hadn't realised she was in the room. “Marinette? Have you seen Jason since he went to bed last night?”
“Um, I- no, I haven't seen him,” she said, picking at her fingers nervously. She could almost feel the scrutiny from the pair and quickly shoveled some food into her mouth. She glanced up at them, only to see them exchange a look. She swallowed hard and hoped that a night was enough for Jason to make headway in finding his mother.
“Miss Marinette, when did you last see Master Jason?” Alfred asked, his tone kind but firm. Marinette focused on her plate, chewing her cheek furiously. He waited patiently, something that made Marinette feel even more nervous.
“I…saw him last night?” She said weakly, cursing her inability to tell lies unless her secret identity was on the line - which was no longer an issue. The silence that followed her statement made her wince and she glanced at Bruce, who was watching her with a furrowed brow. She cracked. “Look, I know you didn't want him to go after her, but it's his mother and if he doesn't go now, when could he?”
“He could have gone when we had made a plan,” Bruce said in a clipped tone he had never directed at her before. She could almost feel the anger rolling off of him in waves and shrank in on herself. “Jason has a tendency to rush into things when he should wait, and it could get him seriously hurt, Marinette.”
“But what were the chances of her disappearing before he followed, if he waited?” Marinette shot back stubbornly, not expecting Bruce to be able to counter it. So she felt her cheeks redden when he did.
“Given that she's been in the same place for quite some time, I'd think he had time to plan,” Bruce snapped, fist thumping onto the counter in frustration. Marinette felt herself getting angry too, standing up so she could glare properly. It made her shorter, given the stools were pretty tall, but she felt silly arguing while sitting down.
“Listen, it's Jay's choice if he wants to go and find her. Now, I'm going to school,” she said, dismissing him with a glare. She turned to Alfred, losing some of her steel when he gave her a disappointed look. “I'm sorry, Mister Alfred, but he asked me to give him the chance to find her.”
“I understand, Miss Marinette. I only hope he is safe, following after a woman he has never met,” Alfred replied, making Marinette feel small. She hunched in on herself, flinching when Bruce muttered something darkly and swept from the room. She assumed he was going to drag Jason back and then she would get a punishment for her insubordination.
She only hoped that Jason had the chance to find Sheila before Bruce found him.
_ _ _
Marinette sat in the drawing room, hands shaking and stomach rolling. Bruce had returned that evening - alone. Alfred had asked her to wait for them in the drawing room and they had yet to return for her. She was desperate to know where Jason was. Had he decided to stay with his mother for a while? Was he coming back separately but soon? Or had he and Bruce fought, and he was cooling off somewhere else?
She was broken from her thoughts by the door opening again, Alfred and Bruce coming in. They had grave looks on their faces, and Marinette began to panic. Why weren't they saying anything? She looked to Alfred desperately, searching for some sign of what was going on. But it was Bruce who spoke.
“Marinette, we need to tell you what happened, and it isn't easy,” he said, voice stilted and stiff. She flinched, turning wide eyes onto Alfred who shook his head gently. A cold feeling spread through her, starting at her fingertips and toes, and creeping along her veins into her chest.
“Okay, but can you tell me when Jay's coming home?” Everything stopped when Bruce flinched, her heart trying to push itself out of her chest. Her lungs couldn't get enough air, but she tried again. “Mr Wayne, Mister Alfred, when is Jay coming home? I- we have a test on Wednesday, it's literature and he would hate to miss it. I know he said he'd be gone for a while, but I don't think he'd like to fail a test just because-”
“He's dead,” Bruce said, cutting her off. Marinette froze, her breath shortening painfully as she tried to process the words. She looked back at Alfred, waiting for him to deny it, to say that Bruce was playing a cruel joke to teach her not to lie. But he merely looked at her sadly, his eyes red.
She didn't remember much after that, she thought that someone had wrapped an arm around her but the only thing she could feel was a dragging, crushing sensation, as though someone was pulling her heart out of her chest and squeezing. She vaguely recalled Bruce saying something about a funeral - how did she have another funeral to attend, for people who had lives ahead of them? For someone her own age? - before leaving the room.
She went through the motions of nodding and listening to snippets as Alfred explained in more detail - Sheila, the Joker, a bomb - but mostly she was crumbling. She felt the piece of her that had been repairing, with every shared evening, with every heartfelt conversation she and Jason had had, crack apart. And this time, she didn't think she could put it all back together.

[2023 Prompt List 1][Previous] [2023 Prompt List 2][Here] [2023 Prompt List 3][Next]
|The MANY Bloodlines of Constantine (Its by pure dumb luck Danny is crowned Ghost King before his 18th, because he learns his biodad had sold his soul, its void now, and not just his but also his half-siblings as well... Constantine is getting decked.)  (Psst read the reblogs, everyone had fun adding to this one) |Daughter of Phantom, Lady Gotham. (Lady Gotham, is Danny Phantom’s daughter) |No Longer In Service (Ghost King Danny has an idea how to get summoners to stop summoning him) |Overdue Payments (Ghost King Danny finds Ra’s al ghul’s overdue payments and a request to repossess it) |For Them (Danny uses his ice to save Dani (Ellie) from melting and does so in front of one Dr. Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze) |In A Single Night (Vlad is taken down by either Selina or Tim in a single night due to being a creepy creep) |Assassin Heir? Crime Fighting Furry? NOPE NO THANK YOU! (Danny wakes up in a DC version of himself and tries to nope out of the Assassin lifestyle and avoid becoming a crime fighter. Now if only the others understood that) |Playing Dead AU (Danny is the dead body for those Murder Mystery parties and gets a gig for the Gotham elite. I strongly suggest reading the reblogs, they get amazing for this) |Of Godsons, Fruitloops, and Lois ‘I will drag all secrets out into the sun’ Lane (Lois Lane is Danny’s only godparent, Vlad better watch out) |Recluse Owner, Bookshelf Gremlin, and the Cute Cafe Guy (Danny and Dani have to leave their home dimension behind and decide to open a cafe with Ghostwriter whose been wanting a way to get new books without having to go out and deal with people. Jason is sus of the new bookstore that opened up overnight) (Very hinted Dead on Main) |Cujo is.... Trying (Danny gets hurt, Cujo and him are yeeted into the Gotham, and Cujo... Cujo is trying to do his best even as he’s chased after a sword wielding bird boy)  |Tim, buddy, what do you mean you might had accidentally made a Love Child?! (Danny learns is the love child clone? of Tim and Kon that Tim accidentally made during his bad year of losing everything and Danny gets deaged and tossed back into his home dimension. It was due to Clockwork that he never noticed the life he created (cause villain Tim timeline was nearly on set) but finds out what he created when said love child shows up at a Gala wandering around just after he announced he’s dating Kon) (a TimxKon story where they try to raise their clone love child) |Bellatrix Star ( a TaliaxDanny idea. Queen Talia and Ghost King Danny) |Joker Messed Around and Found Freaking Out. (Joker messed with the wrong person when he took a visiting class hostage) |Fenton Ethics and Test Tube Babies (Jazz and Danny aren’t Fenton’s but are half-siblings and cousins (basically same mom, different dad’s)...The Fenton’s have some... questionable ethics and moral) |Timelines, Red Robins, and Kings (dont ask about the title, it was only thing I can think of) (Tim crashes in on Danny’s ghost King lesson’s during his Red Robin run. Clockwork is excited for this timeline cause he gets to have some fun) |Beloved Beyond Time (Due to weird time-traveling, Ghost Prince Danny is summoned and mistaken as King by the LoA. There he meets a smitten young Damian al Ghul who proclaims they will marry... Later Danny finds himself cornered by a year older Damian when he returns to his own time) |Over Tea (Gotham gets a sudden and strange weather that shakes it to its core. The Batfam is trying to find the source, meanwhile a young Ghost King and Lady Gotham are discussing things over tea. |Good Doggos Give Hope! (A self-indulgant idea of Cujo wanting to help his fav ghost boy and meeting a very special ring wearing Corgi) |Taking a Chance (Good!Mom Talia! DannyxTalia (Royal Errors) and half-siblings Damian and Ellie (Danielle). Talia discovers Ra’s future he set out for Damian and is at the ends of her ropes, she is given a chance to leave in the form of a cryptic time being. Meanwhile Danny needs someone to become Danielle’s mother before she completely destabilizes)

Did anyone else grow up with 90’s teen DC fans, bc shit was crazy?! My biodad’s ex!-wife legit told me that there was only 1 Robin, Dick Grayson. Like my whole childhood if I tried to talk about Teen Titans jokes (they loved to hint at Jason) and other child appropriate comics that jokes about Batman’s many and ever growing amount of sidekicks I’d be shut down with “Dick is the only Robin.”
AND TO THIS DAY IF I TRY TO TALK TO MY LITTLE (half) SISTER ABOUT THE ROBINS MY SISTER WILL TELL ME ONLY DICK IS A ROBIN THE REST ARE FAKE
the worst part is it doesn’t even make sense
