I see your “river’s kits have a vicious power struggle after his death” and raise you “River adopted a kit later in life, and made this kit his heir”, leading to civil war as Riverclan almost fractures between those who value the Park Kingdom bloodline more and those who recognize that family doesn’t end at blood

I just get the idea that there are some older cats in Riverclan who have a more feudalistic mindset, old fashioned cats who believe the right to rule is in the blood, who believe Arc’s bloodline should continue to rule, not some dirty stray Riverstar took pity on. Of course this might not work with what you have in mind, but I thought I’d throw it out there

I’m also going to throw a free space on the bingo square, being “some characters have completely different personalities from previous books and are practically unrecognizable

(EDIT FROM THE FUTURE: Riverstar's Heir now takes place BEFORE Cloudberry and Ryewhisker.)

I like that idea a lot, I'll do that.

What I'm thinking at the moment is this; several of the "deputy" stories of DOTC will get combined into one, HUGE story that follows long after the last book in BB!DOTC. It happens in the Code Era of the Ancient Period.

Plots from COTC being thrown into this story like a soup;

possibly Acorntail's Blunder (also I forgot the canon names of these stories.)

The basic plot is that Riverstar, the final founder, is on his deathbed. He is ANCIENT by Clan cat standards, with many of his lives lost simply to old age. He's floating around 20 years old... and in his youth grandpa was WILD

He was in a QPR with at least 3 RiverClan cats, plus a happy, mutual fling with someone in ShadowClan. This is long before Honor Siring; it was well known that he fathered a bunch of kits. But, in his last days, he adopted a child who he was raising as his heir.

Now that he's dead, there's at least 3 major characters gunning for River King;

The Heir Child that Riverstar has adopted and is raising as his successor

The Blood Riverstar's oldest living biological child

The Advisor The cat who was the most qualified in the River Kingdom, equal to the deputy role in ShadowClan, SkyClan, and ThunderClan.

Another Clan (possibly Wind Coalition) even sees the opportunity to absorb the River Kingdom into itself. This has to take place AFTER Cloudberry and Ryewhisker, so maybe in this moment, Wind Co decides that they actually DO want to bring up the deceased Ryewhisker's claim to the kittens. Make Cloudberry a child of Riverstar, with a claim to the throne herself.

At the moment, I'm also thinking that the other leaders are currently Duststar of WindClan, Ravenstar of ShadowClan, and Owlstar of ThunderClan. I'm not sure who rules SkyClan, because I need to know if Sparrow becomes Sparrowstar.

Anyway, my BB redux of Riverstar's Home will probably be Riverstar's Heir.

I have updated our rules for the season! Please take a little time to read them over when you have the chance. Most everything has stayed the same, but there are a few little things that I wanted to talk about, to make sure we clarify expectations:

the waiting period between muses has been moved to two weeks. 99% of pick-ups were waiting this long anyway, and we think it makes sense as far as settling in first!

every other FC you pick up must be diverse. however, once you reach 3, you are no longer allowed to play more cis white muses than diverse muses. that means that if you play 2 white and 2 diverse, to pick up a 5th, they must be diverse. the goal is that half or more of your characters must be diverse.

for activity checks, I will be looking for bubbling every week instead of every other -- however, you are only interacting with one writer that week, we will give you a warning, instead of an automatic strike. this way, you have a chance to fix it for a whole week before you will be given a strike!

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT !

Genuinely, from the bottom of our hearts: we love this group. But of course, there is always room for improvement, things that we can all do to keep dash a more fun, productive space for everyone. This month, we're asking everyone to be mindful about maintaining interactions / threads with everyone in the group. Avoid dropping threads that people might be relying on for activity -- for example, if you want to let something from the carnival go, hey, no one's going to mind that, it's older! But if you're dropping beach bash threads on day four of the beach bash, that's not so great. Be sure that you're keeping up with all of the threads you have. It's okay if you have heavy muse for something, as long as you are still working on other threads and not letting them fall behind. With the start of a new month, it's always a good time to get into new practices! Maybe make yourself a thread tracker, so you can keep track of what you owe, and things aren't left by the wayside, or just get into the habit of double, triple checking that you're replying to everything, and not just the most recent things that come up (older stuff gets buried). Whatever works for you. And it's also a good time to start new things! To reach out to writers that you haven't gotten the chance to write with yet, or maybe to reach out to those you are writing with and say hey, let's start something fresh! xx

A bit of a struggle to get the words out this week -  I touched three fics (1 new & 2 WIPs) - for a total of 1946  words.

I’m juggling  20+  active/semi-active WIPs with my current  deadline being the July Break Bingo, which runs until mid-August, and Hot Bucky Summer and Tony Stark This or That, which run til the end of August.  

See  below cut for what I’m working on/planning to work on - arranged more or less by bingos/challenges/etc.  As always, feel free to send me   prompts or plot bunnies as well as asks regarding  any of these projects  or any other WIPs I’ve got out there.   Interaction really helps feed the Muse and keep me motivated!

July Break Bingo [JBB_24] (runs 1-31 Jul  14 August) 

@julybreakbingo  is a fantastic any-fandom bingo event designed to spark creativity during the month of July - plus the first two weeks of August, thanks to an extension! I’ve combined squares with  multiple other events this month and as of today, I have 22 prompts filled and 1 in WIP form, with one or two more  potentially planned. 

* B5 - "Wanna practice?" -  filled this with  Practice Makes Perfect as a crossover with the Flash Fiction Friday prompt [#FFF 261 Maybe One More]. It’s a Pre war Stucky getting-together ficlet that came in at 541 words.

* I5 - Engage - filled this with Engaging with the Enemy. A Bucky & Sam TFAWS scene retelling, it crosses over with the Flash Fiction Friday prompt [#FFF 263 In The Meadows]. It came in at 356 words.

* G2 Hurt/Comfort - another Flash Fiction Friday crossfill, where I combined this with [#FFF262 Run Far and Fast ] for  Beating a Hasty Retreat, where teenage Steve & Bucky get in a scrape.  It came in at 410 words.

* G3 - "I can't breathe."  - see G3 above. 

* O2 - Betrayal fic - didn’t manage to figure out a crossover on this, so I wrote & posted  The Bloom is Off the Rose, where a note tucked into an apology bouquet Ty gave him leads Tony to meet two handsome florists.  It came in at 655 words and posted on Monday.  

Hot Bucky Summer 2024 [HBS_R2] (Ends 31 Aug)

More fun from the @buckybarnesevents folks - this time weekly challenges to create (usually NSFW) Bucky-centric fanworks!   Thanks to plenty of cross-filling with other events  (I’m looking at you, July Break Bingo)  I’ve submitted something for the first nine weeks and have at least ideas for the remaining three - now  to see if I have time/inspiration to write them!  

* Week 9 July 27th - August 2nd - FREE WEEK | Optional Prompts: WAM (Wet & Messy).  Posted Overflowing with Passion  this morning -  more wartime Stucky sexy shenanigans.  Post-Rebirth, Steve is very … productive when he comes, and Bucky is 100% here for it.  It came in (heh) at  571 words and crosses over with  BaBB: July: Bukkake,   BBB: B4 - Showoff  JBB: I2 - "I feel disgusting." + N1- "Are you done?" + Alt2 - Love as passion.  

* Week 10 August 3rd - August 9th --  “Shhhhhhhhh…” + Gagged  + Voyeurism - Working on Chapter 3 of  Coming Clean. Bucky’s POV - Tony blabbering about how he doesn’t want to come between Steve & Bucky - so the two of them shut him up in the best way.  Currently crossing over with my TSB_R8 - K5 - Misunderstandings  square and  TSTOT_24 -  Row 2: Omega Tony prompt - going to see if I can squish in any  Aug BaBB prompts.

* Week 11 August 10th - August 16th  “You look good like this.” + Kneeling  + Tied Down  +  Ruined.   Probably Chapter 3   of  The Business of Pleasure -  picking up with  Steve’s  POV?  It’s currently sitting at   71 words and I want to see if any Aug BaBB prompts fit.  

* Week 12 - August 17th - August 23rd  – “What should I wear?” + Nothing -  Got inspired by a song lyric to come up with a Greco-Roman wrestling challenge - if I go WinterIron I could squish in  TSB S4 - "Get it over with"  or  S2 - Tony's Poor Life Choices …? I will also see if any Aug BaBB prompts fit.

Hawkeyes Bingo [HB_R2] (Ends TBD) 

Working on this  Tumblr event - got a 3x3 card and am looking forward to creating more  Clint-centric content and trying my hand at a bit of  Kate Bishop fic as well!    

* A3 - Awkward Flirting – this might be a good entry into my first femslash fic with Kate/Yelena?    

* C1 - Magic -  Combined this with a previous Flash Fiction Friday prompt  [#FFF259 House of Cards]   for   Keep a Steady Hand.  Clint notices Bucky getting frustrated with a task and offers to help.  It came in at 632 words and will post to Ao3 possibly later this month.

* N5 - "I'm here for you."  - Possibly the next chapter of  Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion ?

Ah, thank you for ask. I'm gearing up to maybe put some of Bingo card ideas for season 2, but not have ad time yet. Also heard that some S2 episodes were leaked, thankfully I was away for from internet during that time. In a way its sad because some people were spoiled and it takes wind out of mystery guessing since some people know the answer. Anyway.... Caitlyn

First, I don't think she will become somehow more of brutal 'enforcer' but I also don't see her reforming enforcers when becoming the sherif because she has such a strong justice sense. I think her story arc will revolve around uncovering the mystery of the opening on the bridge. It will not be task she sets out to do, that was pretty much explained in the trailer, but that will be what will happen imo. There are key people that are connected to her that she will uncover more depth to, including:

her link to Vi - their both mentor's relationship they still don't know about. While we saw Greyson in very favourable light, who was in charge of enforcers just a few years prior when the bridge massacre happened? Even if it wasn't her, Greyson knew about the bridge and more likely than not was on the bridge as part of enforcers as per episode 1 conversation with Vander. Imo Greyson was the sherif during the bridge scene or next in line and after seeing the carnage, made the whole under the table dealing with Vander. Unless she was in contact with him before the opening scene,. Vander in the end is a character that I'm unsure of, he could have sold out the uprising for something safer offered by Piltover that in the end wasn't delivered on by people in power. He's very ashamed of trying to kill Silco (which was clarified that it happened after) and hides that scar.

2. Her family as part of the council link to the bridge massacre. While I don't think council said anything explicitly, enforcers don't just do things for fun and giggles because their evil. They're pawns. They answer to the council as we've seen from S1 part 1, and it's council unyielding position to turn the screw just a bit tighter instead of any sort of reform that fans the flames. Her mother for sure was part of the council during that time, as the governing body her so Cait's family's governing legacy is death of Vi parents. (the only council member who was probably not part of that day is Mel, who I think was not yet exiled to Piltover.)

Yes, she was told pieces of these informations by Vi but being told is not the same as having to face facts. (We've seen the same thing with Jayce and Victor in S1.) So anyway, I think Caitlyn's will set out to capture Jinx etc. and will be pushed to become the sherif because that will give her modicum of ways to protect Vi plus council needs one of their own after Marcus' betrayal, but while doing that she will uncover all of Piltover's council's corrupt dealings and what really enforces do (definitely not protect justice). The tragedy will be that knowledge about reality of Piltover and Zaun relations will come to late to be in position to change outcome for Vi and be a real force of change. Instead she'll probably have to settle for a desk job which is just ceremonial position of sheriff that sweeps council's dirt under the rug to protect Vi, just as Marcus had to settle for being Silco's pawn for his daughter, etc. Hindsight is 20/20, but she is not yet in position at start of S2 to see the whole picture of Piltover and Zaun's relationship; nor did she directly cause harm in the undercity like Jayce to have to face that a person from Piltover may not actually know better. She will but imo. it will be too late to break free from Piltover's system grasp.

All of sherifs we've seen so far in the story had to go behind council's back to do anything for undercity, or positive, so likely so will she... for the rest of her life.

Also pretty sure Renni's goons will be hunting down Vi and Jayce, seems so from the trailer where they attack Kiramman's tent where Jayce and Victor's stuff was presented.

Anyway, that's what I think her storyline will be - she'll uncover the mystery of who's behind undercity violence which she asks in S1 E4 - it's Piltover - but it'll be too late to do anything to extract herself from being Piltover's for show sherif.

1. For some reason, Jack and Crutchie seemed to be sleeping on the fire escape or the roof of some kind

2. The lighting is amazing! The blue lights with an orange background (which is kinda like Jack is blue and Crutchie is orange) but it also show sunrise.

3. This is so random but I know they make the newsies shave their facial hair to seem younger but they made Jeremy Jordan shave under his arms as well.

4. The watch me stand bit is the only part of the musical for the next 30 minutes Andrew isn't smiling

5. Sky and Ben's voices

6. Mush/Nick checking out Albert's/Sky's ass.

7. Finch appears out of nowhere just to yell at Albert

8. Sky seemed to have trouble with his suspenders so they just cut half of it out

9. Buttons had his hat in this back pocket idk if that's important

6th March M.S.G. meeting

Well, the much rearranged meeting went ahead after numerous reasons for it to be cancelled. Originally it was booked at the TWMC for the usual first Tuesday in the month but then Mary put a spanner in the works and her very belated cremation and celebration of her life was booked for the same date and time and so it was thought that the date could be changed to the following Thursday , the 7th March but hey hoe, Jane at the TWMC couldn't do it, and she offered Wednesday the 6th and so it was. So a big thanks to Jane for opening up just for us and after a few telephone calls a very fine turn out ensued, some 14 or was it 15 if one includes little Maisie and that with cry offs and some serious and genuine apologies.

So, once everyone had caught up with everyone and local news and gossip prevailed, including sightings in the streets, meetings at funerals or wakes and being ignored by insignificant individuals by so called very important people, it was concluded that we could quite easily get back to days of old and maybe have our sights on 20 turning up. Who nose

Nevertheless, today's main job was to sort the junk out of the cupboard and once it was opened this task was set about.. Lots of paperwork, lots of photographs, games and a cup plus a bingo machine.

So the photographs would be sorted and passed onto the relevant persons involved, the cup would be given to Headcorn Scout Group for their annual quiz contest and the bingo machine might be lent out to other like minded groups.

Other ideas included a Spring Break, which now might become an Autumn Break and a ew are looking into ideas.

It was decided that the next meeting would include a bite to eat at the Fields restaurant with members going free and guests being asked for a donation. the 9th April, so put it in yor diary right now

I absolutely love writing Sean Hotchner and Jessica Brooks, too.

List of genuine enrichment activities for Trans GFs (applicable to other S/O and besties)

Old \ Broken Computer - Charity / Thrift shops or old family computers are a good place to find these. To maximise enrichment, I recommend something bulky she and roughly 20 years old (think windows 97/98/XP) This will have a good blend of nostalgia, and won't be too frustrating like a more modern small-formfactor computer or laptop If it's not broken when you get it, you can try things like unplugging cables or un-seating cards & memory (Warning: Old computers aren't as well made as they used to be and can contain sharp metal, make sure to have plasters on hand!)

Lego - Who doesn't love lego?! It will keep her entertained for a good while building, and then some playing. Plus it will give you a little quiet time ;) (I will not be held responsible for the mess... or hurt feet)

Go for a walk - Getting out can be really good for your mental health. Make a game of it - play silly fun games like eye-spy or make up stories about people you see, take your mind off life!

Old Cooking Recipes - We've all seen Dylan B. Hollis' fun videos, why not try them out as a couple ? Plus ya might get tasty treats out of it (or a huge mess)

Programming Challenges - (really hammering home the stereotype I know, but trans gf suggested so ....) There's plenty online, and if you really want to keep her entertained for a while - make it a real challenge by suggesting she use something like Haskell or Cobol >:3c

Treasure Hunt - Hide small n fun things around the place. Works well for all types of doggirl and catgirl!
