The billboard year end charts expose Hybe so nice. Jungkook didn't make it into "Billboard streaming chart". Lol.

How does the kpop solo artist pulling "massive streams" not enter a literal streaming chart? I mean, if you have loads of streams, you enter the streaming chart. That's basic, isn't it? Even Jimin made it into that chart even though he has less streams for the period than Jungkook.

So most of Jungkook's streams are ad supported and paid playlisting streams. Those don't count for that chart. And free streams (most from streaming farms obviously) don't weight much for the chart. So actual people listening from proper premium accounts are way less, that's why he didn't make it into it.

Someone needs to expose Hybe and Bongo and end their fake success nonsense.

What do you mean by the “Billboard Streaming Chart”? Do you mean the weekly streaming songs chart, which is counted from Sunday to Sunday? Or are you talking about a year-end list of most streamed songs? I struggled to find a billboard list of most-streamed songs and to find a precise list of their methodology for streaming chart rankings. However, one thing to keep in mind is Billboard is in the US. It is only counting US streaming, unless it is specifically specified that they’re producing a global/world streaming chart. We know that a lot of JK’s streams come from outside the US, so is this that surprising?

If you could write in with the specific chart you’re referring to, I can take a look at how that chart is compiled and comment further. I can’t make any comment on paid or ad-supported streams without knowing how the chart is put together.

Yes, yjh did regress but he was made that way. Iykyk he is a letter from hsy to dokja so in every way he IS going to circle back to him at the end. yjh is hsy's desperation, her yearning to save Dokja.

We all have read the same texts and we know yjh is not that incapable that after 999th turn it'll take him 864 more regression turn to reach the wall again. NO! It happened that way because it is written that way and being a "character" he could not break free of that .

It's his 1864 turn that is unwritten...!!

The sheer hatred SOME joongdokers have towards doksoo (and by extension, yoohankim) is so outstanding to me that I joined this fandom shipping kdj/yjh quite a lot and even enjoyed writing for the ship… but the people of Tumblr have convinced me to hate them forever and never write for that ship again. 😇 

This attempt to “validate” joongdok has the entirely opposite effect and they just don’t get it. I want to boycott joongdok after reading those posts. In fact, I do. Hope they’re happy.

The ORV fandom can be so exhausting.

This whole thing about “hsy only wrote a novel” are coming from people who don’t understand ORV whatsoever.

Yoo Joonghyuk IS a living love letter. 

Han Sooyoung spun the threads he is made up of and wrote every word with her blood. She loved him enough to make a whole person, and in putting herself into her own work, her creations loved him too.

Everything that Han Sooyoung has made loves Kim Dokja. Because the universe was built on her love.

If Han Sooyoung didn’t love Kim Dokja to the extent that she did, Yoo Joonghyuk wouldn’t even exist. 

Arguably, yjh was “only” curious about how there seemed to be more to the story when he was in the 0th round and regressed to discover it. It wasn’t only for KDJ. In fact, it was barely for kdj. YJH accidentally saved kdj in the process of living his life.

Meanwhile, HSY intentionally and deliberately did everything for kdj’s sake right from the start.

If this is a contest about who loves who more, then consider this:

Yjh loves with conditions attached. “I must be by your side.” He is the character that’s meant to reach the reader, you are correct that’s what he is thematically…

If yjh would give up everything to reach kdj, then hsy would give up even that.

Anyways. The argument falls apart since these guys can’t exist without each other and they cannot love without one another. The novel is yoohankim and anyone who tries to remove a part of that equation in “canonverse” is not an astute reader. I do dislike how I get worked up over people who have little to no literacy… 😔 shame on me. 

I understand that other people have different interpretations but this is like reading the bible and coming to the conclusion that we should kill people. Sometimes the writing/interpretation itself isn’t bad, but the people who act on it are. 

Notice how some joongdokers have a problem with doksoo, but doksoo truthers don’t have a problem with the jd ship itself… our problem is with the bad people shipping it instead. Sorry to hear you ran into bad people on your Tumblr scrolling 😔

What are your thoughts on Bakugou being ranked 15? Ignoring that rankings still exist.

Do you think this is Hori saying that Bakugou doesn’t care about being number one anymore and that his main goal is to be heroes with Deku? And that being rivals with Deku is all he wants now?

Or is it saying that Bakugou never grew or developed since he was a teenager to better conduct himself in public?

I kind of answered this question already when Ch 430 revealed that Shouto was ranked higher than Bakugou.

Basically, no, I don't believe that Bakugou is holding back (for him that's a sign of disrespect, and he has no reason to be disrespectful towards people like Mirio, BJ, Mirko who are all ranked higher than him, plus saved his life).

Also, since higher ranks get better money, if Bakugou wanted to finance Deku's suit, it makes no sense for him to not try to get the best ranking possible.

I was a bit surprised that he was 15th - I thought he would be 8-10 based on what Deku was saying in Ch 430, with Shoto, Shoji, Kirishima and Iida all ranking above him.

So I personally think that the type of hero work that's mostly around these days is not the best fit for Bakugou and the way Hawks changed the ranking criteria (which is never explained by the way) doesn't favor him.

What I mean is:

Bakugou has a highly offensive quirk and great battle sense. But big threats like AFO don't exist anymore. When it comes to catching car thieves in a highly populated urban environment, his quirk does not give him edge over someone like Sero or even Mineta.

He has to hold back his power all the time. Because his quirk is so offensive and destructive at full power, he has to constrain it. If he let out full-power cluster, he'd be faster than Iida probably, but also would destroy all the buildings along his path. So he has to tone down his explosions, so they don't break the windows or even disturb people.

His quirk is also not great for rescue. Not useful in fires, only so much he can do in earthquakes, in floods, not to mention never put him close to a snowy mountain, if you don't want an avalanche.

His quirk is not great for little crowd pleasing. E.g. Shouto can go on patrol on a hot summer day and earn lots of favors with the public just by cooling down the streets - Bakugou at most could entertain the kids with fireworks - but does he do that?

Attitude - he's just not interested in pleasing his fans and has no natural desire in him to make random people happy like some of the others do.

Lack of charity work - he is focusing his caring on a smaller group of people; Deku's suit, giving rides to Edgeshot, others too probably, but he gets no points for that.

Basically, Bakugou's quirk, battle tactics, leadership skills and attitude is built to shine in big, legendary fights and there are just not that many of those anymore.

He became the shonen comic book hero who struggles a bit with the realities of a peaceful, mundane life (431 was a bit tongue-in-cheek about that).

[The only thing that really puzzles me is why Mirko ranked so much higher than him, when she's just a female copy-paste Bakugou with the same attitude issues]

Why is the cult making joint billboards for TK welcoming them back together, when they didn't even enlist together and enlisted miles away from each other? They're really gonna dismiss for the rest of their lives, Jikook enlisting together and just gonna move forward pretending it never happened. They're so freaking weird.

JK who literally mentioned JM on his own several times on weverse, JK who didn't mention his own MAMA win but was playful with JM about his daesang (even JN asked them what they were doing), JK who told us about them singing together in the shower or how he goes to find JM when he’s done with his duties so they can go off to the side and sing together? Occam's razor says that she probably just said it because cardinal directions in minecraft make no sense so landmark based directions are easiest.

Mumbo's base is one of the farthest bases from anything in the main inhabited area of the season 10 map. And he's far from the shopping district. Which means almost no one goes through Mumbo's base to see their friends or go shopping.

So building a billboard in Joel's base that faces Mumbo's means that basically only Mumbo would ever see it......

What’s going on with the Times Square billboard and what does it have to do with Bobby Nash?

From what I've seen (I don't follow that many 911 blogs still, but I did do some snooping around after hearing about the billboard), some very misguided fans pooled money for a billboard ABOUT Bobby Nash in NYC. Apparently there are some people who think this billboard will get people to boycott the show if 911 doesn't bring Bobby back. These people may or may not also be involved in an online petition to bring Bobby back. (The petition exists, I'm just not sure if it's the same people, but there's likely overlap. Very much feels like another heller situation, but I digress.)

Here is the first post I saw about it. It has this picture:

If you can't see in the lower left of the image, it says

This is how you can tell it's about Bobby Nash/Peter Krause.

But...for random people in NYC that don't know this is for a freaking tv show, at first glance this looks an awful lot like an IRL 9/11 attack memorial--with the ash on the helmet and the 118 and the name "Bobby." 🙃🙃 And the (AI generated??) "los angeles" maybe too blurry to read. I'm looking at it right now and still can't be sure it's even spelled correctly.

Now, should EVERYONE be rightfully expected to know/remember the names and stations of everyone who died that day? No. But should someone putting up a billboard of an ASH COVERED HELMET in NYC be expected to stop and think, "Wait, this imagery is a lot like 9/11 memorial imagery. Maybe I should do some due diligence before I put this up JUST STREETS AWAY FROM THE IRL TRAGEDY."??? 1000% yes. If you're old enough to have billboard money, you're old enough to realize how in poor taste this is before doing it.

Just saw your Jovial Contrarian cosplay contest posts, it is indeed a shame to see that kind of rare wheelchair user representation not being respected.

And this is very rare representation in any media indeed, you mentioned in your post knowing only 3 characters including Jovial Contrarian that fit your criteria and that made me realise... I don't know even one, so my question is about these two other characters you know that are truly well portrayed wheelchair users, I would love to know about them!

yeah it's very rough! althougu you know, i realized i remembered another character who... debatably fits my criteria? so we'll put him on here too cause this list is too small to get as picky as i would like

i will say up front, none of these characters are perfect, each have their own issue, however i do still love them, and they're the only ones decent enough to come to mind. So! let's begin

Lydia Fox from Arthur! She's the same-ish age as the rest of the kids, which has its pros and cons! I won't fault it for the cons though, because it'd a kids show geared towards kids, so it makes a lot of sense she'd be... a kid.

(The con being all wheelchair users portrayed in media tend to be either really old or really young, and then fall into certain stereotypes based on the designated age from there. All adults are old and feeble and ignored and pitiable and probably evil, and all kids are young and spunky and active and 'differently abled' inspiration porn who must educate others) (btw, did you know i had to see one of those bullshit "differently abled" billboards in my own city yesterday during my single weekly trip?)

She's plays basketball, and ends up educating one of the other kids and helps him stay active whenever he temporarily breaks something in his leg. I've only ever seen her debut episode, but i do like that it shows some issues specific to wheelchairs, like lack of sidewalk cutouts! I felt sometimes her stuff turned... a bit too 'inspiration'-y, and I really wish I had seen her disability have more of a tangible impact besides just being a wheelchair user. I wish i had seen her get tired from pushing herself or other things but, again, I like her, and she's an important character for the show to have had!!! can't say much about her, she only had three episodes and i only fully watched the one

according to the wiki, she was meant to have a spinal cord injury, but that was changed to her being disabled from birth which... also has its pros and cons. I personally like seeing characters who become wheelchair users later on and adapt to it, but i also have some disabilities that have been around since i was born, so i get it

the solution of course would be to just put another wheelchair user in the cast who got an equal amount of screentime. maybe a teacher even! but having even one is nice

She's... old. I love seeing older folks and older characters, but. Wheelchair users don't have to all be old. It serves a narrative purpose, but I can assure you, you can be forgotten about and neglected at any age when you're a wheelchair user </3

She gets ignored by and forgotten about by her family (save for Harlan, who took care of her, which I do actually really like and appreciate, cause clearly his kids aren'tdoing the same for him which is why he needs Marta), but I like that the narrative doesn't share this view either. The story itself makes it clear that she's a whole human being, and a bit of a bastard at that.

Listen. I fucking love when wheelchair users are allowed to be bastards. It is my favorite gddamn thing. You go through so much shit in a wheelchair, I think she deserves to laugh when the detective makes his breakthrough. I think she's allowed to eat an entire salmon spread on her own. (Although that line always struck me because. 1 yikes i don't like her grandson yelling at her cause he thinks she's deaf, that's not how you speak to d/Deaf people, 2 the character who said that is known to lie so like. did she really? and she may still be hungry!)

also, look at the way she dresses, she has a very clear taste!!!

she's not a main character, and she's mostly this way for plot points, so I can't win them all, but I love that marta and benoit treat her respectfully, and that she gets to have her moment at the end. 100/10 she's very old

Now. Again. He's old. He's the oldest one in these pictures. But again, if I looked for wheelchair users my age in the media I enjoy... I would have nothing.

I have plausible deniability that we're not told what condition(s) make him a wheelchair user, so. It's probably implied he has an injury in his lower or middle spine and is paralyzed. however. he could also still be able to move his legs bazeline and just doesn't! cause again, magical cures that erase disabilities... is a sticky subject, and that'swhat this scene would be. but as an individual, i hate seeing it for disabilities that put you in a wheelchair. i don't like erasure.

I like that's he's smart and a scientist, and i love that for some reason his rival's castle is WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?!?!?! he has a SPECIAL DEVICE to move dr scott around his house?!?!?! which presumably Dr Scott could use as well maybe? I don't know, but if Dr Frank-N-Furter can have a wheelchair accessible gothic castle, so can you!!!

He's also a bit of a bastard so. extra points there. my favorite thing though is that he also gets a sexy leg performance scene with the abled-bodied cast, and also that he gets to do sick wheelies on stage, hell yeah!!!

(bonus: edith from crimson peak, i love what the wheelchair represents, and how scary it is having someone have that control over you, but also she doesn't keep it so she's not on this list fully.)

in conclusion:

can i please get some wheelchair users who are ages 20-50? august is probably 50s or 60s so he's close! but y'all those kids are gonna grow!!! greatnanna did not spawn into the world at 100+ years old. i want wheelchair users who are written to be normal humans, not inspiration porn or pity porn. I also want for their disabilities to affect them and not to be taken away at the last minute, or revealed to have been faked the whole time. I am tired of wheelchair users who are evil because they don't want to be wheelchair users, because nobody else can do it with nuance or care, and nobody actually fixes or even addresses the situations that lead to it in the first place.
