You all know the item 'Midday Tryst' that Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk used to communicate right? '밀회' basically a secret love affair. It's funny to me that they are so bold to have a damn date in the middle of the day and called that 'secret'.

somewhat inspired by @/hehearse's high contrast pieces (i failed but like, next time! I'm just glad to have thrown my brain at this piece, since it's what caused my art block last year)

anyways, some thoughts on novel episode 4:

Okay, so. I'm rereading ORV for this small (ish) art project, and one thing that stuck out to me this reread is just how tired and disappointed kdj is in the apocalypse. It’s a really subtle thing, and I didn’t pick it up the first read, only when I wondered what the purpose of the first few arcs were, besides character establishment and world building. Obviously, kdj’s not panicking, but there is this underlying sense of disappointment as he finds that people will continue to throw others under the bus and be terrible people, even while the world is ending, just because of the mindset “well, it’s not me”. (which is…a thought.)

It’s kind of heartbreaking since we know that kdj is not a particularly optimistic person, but I feel like he always carries hope with him, especially early on, that the end of the world may bring out the best and kindest part of people. And he's wrong so many times, and it's just the first four episodes in 

still, episode four has been a struggle, because there's so much going in at once, but I was hoping to at least illustrate disappointment! i have better ideas going forward though haha,,

ORV reels you in with the "What if all my useless interests were suddenly SUPER important in real life and I was better than everyone for investing all that time in them" isekai power fantasy and then when you're invested pulls a bait and switch like "Actually they WERE always useful and necessary! They are what kept you going through life all this time! Even if that was the only way they ever served you, it still was not a waste of time because the only thing that matters is that they helped you survive"

Apparently yjh (helped) raise lgy while kdj was gone, I found out about this and began (artistically) vomiting all over my screen

I really like when these two interact. Especially their early-orv interactions. Lgy wanted desperately to dump ice down yjh’s shirt while yjh was trying to concoct plans to steal custody of lgy from kdj
