Finally drew a cover for The Tale of William Nolis :D
Tumblr media
From left to right, William's dad Norman, William's adopted brother Gabriel Nolis, Karlos Naica (Kryptos), William Nolis himself, Hector von Gahn (Hectorgon) and William's mother Clarissa.
The star OC, Gabriel, isn't mine, but he belongs to an old friend, the same old friend who collabed with me on A Triangle in the Stars, which this story is a companion to. :3
And that's a card Norman's holding.
The story can be read here!! and under the cut is the traditional version!

Sonnets of Euclydia - I.
In all Euclydia were none so dear
As two triangles of the Cipher name:
Scalene and Euclid lived in comfort here
Without the knowledge of their future shame.
An equilateral, a baby boy,
An unassuming child of yellow hue,
Lit up his parents’ lives with all the joy
Of anyone observing something new.
But something had gone wrong, that much was clear—
Poor Billy had a strange deformity:
He’d spend his hours lost in joy and fear,
Distracted by the great enormity
Of millions of stars, both great and small
And nobody but Bill could count them all.

So big difference in my birth family than the BoB and website one. My home was LITERALLY Flatland, just later than the book. (A Square was history to me; You might see some similarities to a famous fanfiction too.) But my birth family was a line and an isosceles triangle of lower class. Workmen class. I don't know much about them. My adoptive family was merchant class, a line, another equilateral triangle, and an irregular triangle (Liam).
But the tradition of moving an equilateral to a new family didn't stop years ago. Which sucked. I wonder what my life would have been like with my birth family--probably stuck very poor. The only one of my adoptive family I really cared for was my brother, and I lost him at eight-years-old. I ran away at 15. And a sphere (Z sphere) found me.
Z sphere continued to raise me, and was probably more of a parent than anyone was to me. I appreciated him, but the damage was done to my mind before that. Trauma had set in.So while I was happy in the 3rd dimension, I was plotting.

So when I went back, I tried to get people to follow me and see what they were missing. But it ended badly.

probably a dumb question considering THEY'RE a god, but how quickly does VENDOR generate new planets? can THEY ever run empty before THEY need to create more? also, are THEY limited to third-dimensional planets, given how the Vitruvian Mandala was said to be curved uncomfortably atop one?
I think THEY don't generate THEIR own planets. THEY have to restock them just like any other vending machine.
Remember: being a god just means somebody looked at the person and said "holy shit that looks like a god." VENDOR would (and does) get called a god just by virtue of the fact that THEY're a machine the size of a dwarf star that can vend planets.
THEY're no creator god, just a... well... a vendor god. Someone else makes the worlds. THEY could probably custom-order some to be fabricated to THEIR specifications, but THEY probably usually just keep a default stock of popular worlds. Y'know, the coke bottles and lay's chips of the planet vending business.
Hypothetically THEY probably could vend higher- or lower-dimensional planets, but THEY'd have to switch out their trays to accommodate them, which is a whole damn process, and I'm not sure anyone's even manufacturing VENDOR's parts anymore, THEY'd probably have to get THEM custom made... It's a lot easier to just stick with three dimensional worlds. And VENDOR's a three dimensional machine, it just makes sense.
