oh my god the neverending desire to be the world's biggest brat. making ur dom so fucking angry because you wont stop bitching no matter what they try. all of your normal punishments dont seem to shut you up this time.

so they leave you. they just leave the room. you'd been mouthing off for over an hour and they'd had enough, so they shut the door on you, keeping you tied up all spread out on the bed, fully naked. the marks they'd inflicted across your skin are darkening in the evening light and all you wish you had was their attention on you again.

about half an hour later (though you couldn't have kept track), they come back into the room with a bowl. did they bring you a treat for being so patient??

they sit down on the foot of your bed and lift up the spoon. your heart sinks as you realise they brought a bowl of ice cream for themselves to eat while watching you. food as company to watch you squirm under their gaze.

"that's not fair," you whine.

"did i say it would be?" they take another mouthful.

they drag the metal spoon up and down your legs, smirking when goosebumps ripple over your skin.

"can i have some, at least?" you ask, hopefully.

"why would you ever deserve that, my love? you really think you can act like an asshole and still get a treat?" they ask, raking their eyes slowly over your body.

you muster up some confidence to look them in the eyes, and say, "...maybe..."

they tilt their head back and laugh at your pure stupidity, getting so riled up they almost drop the bowl. when they calm down, they stare at you coldly.

it's uncomfortable. to break the silence, you ask, "what do i have to do to get a treat?" you put on your best pleading face.

"oh honey, that shouldn't be your question right now. you should be pleading and begging me to not leave you here for another few hours, leaving me ample time to think of a punishment that would be your worst fucking nightmare, darling."

Dear Yuletide Writer!

Thanks so much for checking my letter! Most of what's here is also in my sign-up, but I've added some extra bits, including my preferences for stories in general. Have a very happy Yuletide - it's my favorite time of year!

First things first: With absolute honesty, I would much rather you write something you are comfortable with and that interests and inspires you, rather than struggle to make your fic conform to prompts and suggestions you’re not feeling. I’m assuming you signed up to write my fandoms and characters because you have a genuine love for and interest in them, and that’s what makes for good stories. So let the optional details be optional, and take the below as a guideline for those who prefer it.

I would be delighted if you would consider the below:

Things I really enjoy:

Humor! The perfect story, to me, has a curated balance of comedy and drama. I am not, of course, suggesting that everything should be comedic, but I do feel that humor complements tragedy and vice versa. Make me laugh at some point in your story, and I will be very happy indeed.

First time stories! I absolutely prefer this to anything else, in relationship-focused stories. (I’m secretly an 19th century romantic poet.) Slow burn, UST, all that good stuff. I am not suggesting you have to write a longer story; this is more about vibes.

Casefic! I love detective stories, especially the classics, so anything in that vein will make me very happy indeed.

Plot is delicious. I don’t mind character studies, but a good plot will make me happier than anything.

Explicit sex. If you enjoy writing that sort of thing, I am a sucker for a well-written explicit sex scene. I'm pretty vanilla, but I don't mind reading kink. (See Do Not Wants for exceptions.)

World-building. In science fiction or fantasy canons in particular, I can never get enough of this. Let me know what people have for breakfast, how their clothes are made, where they shop, where they go on vacation. In short, tell me about the three seashells! (#ObscureDemolitionManReference) In short: Details! 

A note on shipping/ship focused stories: If I’ve specified a ship and you don’t like it, please don’t feel obligated to write it. However, I would really rather you did not write those characters into other ships in the story (unless it’s canonical, or mentions of past relationships). Likewise, please don’t erase canonical love interests. AUs are OK, but I would really rather read about the canon universe.

Now, author, if you’ve read the above and think “but I only write gen” or “but I hate plotty stories” or “I couldn’t write casefic to save my life” - don’t worry. You matched with me because you like one or more of the same fandoms and characters as me, and that’s more than enough. I trust you to write the best story you can, and that means writing it the way YOU want to. I’m obviously very happy if you chose to include some of my likes, but don’t feel forced to do so.

Lucky Starr - Isaac Asimov    

David (Lucky) Starr

John "Bigman" Jones.

I'm not quite sure what it is about this series that appeals to me so much; on the surface, they are simplistic adventure stories, albeit competently written, set in a universe of naive scientific optimism and (heavily) implied misogyny. But my goodness, how much heart and charm they have! I adore both Lucky and Bigman, their relationship, and the fascinating world in which they live. There is, perhaps, something soothing and satisfying in imagining a word in which science and rationality triumphs, and our lives are made better by technology, never worse.

Wants: As with Daneel and Elijah, above, casefic with angsty romance, please! For this fandom, I would very much appreciate some worldbuilding and expansion on the ideas presented in the novels - why are there so few women? How does society work? All that jazz. And again, if you're not comfortable writing slash, I would love an exploration of Lucky and Bigman's relationship, no matter what you consider the nature of that relationship to be. My dream response to this request would be something in the style of Asimov, but updated with modern sensibilities.

Do Not Wants: I'd prefer that you don't pair either of them with other people, though past relationships are okay to mention. Lucky or Bigman explicitly written to be straight. No PWP, please, I prefer my porn with added plot. No hurt without comfort. No mention of bodily fluids other than blood, semen or saliva in a sexual context. No body horror/permanent disfigurment.

Oxventure: Blades in the Dark

While I love the ending, I am dying to know what happens next! I adore both the setting and the characters, and particularly how the tone walks such a perfect line between horror, humor and realism. Can there be three sides to a line? There can now; Edvard will make it work, somehow. I've picked my two favorite characters - I enjoy Edvard for his delightful and wild innoventions, and his eclectic personality. He's an interesting mix of cynical and blindly optimistic, with just a hint of madness. That being said, Barnaby is my absolute favorite. The idea of a man who takes to a life of crime because he thinks it might be "a bit of fun", and then ends up being accidentally really good at it is absolutely brilliant. He also seems to have some unexpected character growth, particularly toward the end. Last year I said that I do not ship these two, but the idea has since grown on me. So feel free to write gen or slash, as you prefer! It is also more than fine to pair either or both of them with other characters.

Exception to both characters being featured: As I mentioned, Barnaby is my absolute favorite. So long as he is featured, it's okay to not feature Edvard. That doesn't mean I don't want to see Edvard, just that it's okay if you'd prefer not to write about him.

Wants:  I really just want to see what happens next. That said, if you haven't finished the series yet - don't worry! I'm more than happy to read a story from earlier in the series. I'm a sucker for casefic, particularly detective fiction, so if you'd like to try your hand at that, I'd be a very happy recipient! I'd also love to read more about Barnaby in general, and perhaps something more about Edvard's past? And of course, there's worldbuilding - what is the world like, now? (Or what was it like, if you're writing from before the ending.) Oh, and references to other Oxventure stuff would be wonderful; I would love to see more than the few glimpses we got in canon.

Do Not Wants: Alternate Universes. So much of what I enjoy about this series is the setting. Explicit sex is fine, but no PWP, please, I prefer my porn with added plot. Robot Series - Isaac Asimov

R. Daneel Olivaw

Elijah Baley

Caves of Steel is probably my favorite novel of all time, but I adore all of these books. I am very fond of Daneel and Elijah. I find the world they inhabit fascinating, both the future society of Earth, and that of the Outer Worlds. As I love detective fiction, science fiction and especially robots, these stories may as well have been written specifically for me. Part of the appeal, for me, is how they manage to deliver both an entertaining mystery and heart-felt interpersonal drama in a world that feels real. Daneel is one of my favorite fictional characters; the way his empathy and personality shines through his programming and limitations. And Lije is the ultimate cynical, world-weary everyman - together, they are a pair of detectives that deserve to be up there with Holmes and Poirot.

Wants:  Casefic. Seriously, if you can write me casefic for this fandom, I will be delighted. A murder mystery would be fantastic. I do ship Daneel and Elijah, and I would love to read about the unresolved tension between them. Explicit sex would be great! World-building and exploring whichever location they are at, be itsomewhere on Earth or one of the Outer Worlds, or on a space ship or station, etc. Exploration of Daneel's character; Lije stuggling to come to terms with his feelings for him - preferably romantic feelings, but if you don't want to write that, feelings of deep friendship. Bickering and banter and held-back affection!

Do Not Wants: Daneel or Elijah paired with other characters. Canonical relationships are okay to mention or feature, so long as they are not the main focus of the story. Daneel or Elijah explicitly written to be straight. The Twilight Zone

My favorite kind of story is one with an unexpected and clever twist, so it's no wonder that I adore The Twilight Zone. It's not just the twists, of course. I love well-written mysteries and "what-if" stories; science fiction and horror (and to a lesser extent fantasy) which is speculative in the utmost sense of the word. Stories that explore the unusual, the unknown, the delightfully unfamiliar. So essentially: More, plz!

Wants: Above all I would love an original story in the Twilight Zone mold, though I understand that not everyone will have signed up with that in mind. If you have offered this fandom with a specific episode or character in mind, I am fully okay with a story featuring worldbuilding around that. Though an episode-like story would be my preference, I am genuinely easy when it comes to this request. If you are looking for inspiration, here is a list of (some of) my favorite TZ episodes:

ah yeah I think overall this fest was a rough one when you were to take on the question logically, even when you didn't and had been here since the beginning, it was still a rough call for me as I looked it all over and used my brain for my choices due to playing for as long as I have with these games, sure I could go the idol route but usually I had never done that before. and while I did explain my reasoning for which I picked and why here. The present is so important to me and like you mentioned, sometimes the memories of things, unless I write them down, take a picture, or make a video about it, I'm about just as lost. but of course that isn't the only reasons for my choosing

when the first game had came out, I was getting burnt out from call of duty's some matches were so easy that there was a part of my brain that would just unwind until the next game as I got thrown to the wolves, forcing me to lock back in and repeat after repeat and it just...unraveled me in the worst of ways. Splatoon...god it was beautiful to my un-diagnosed brain, colors, funky creatures, a world jam packed with potential lore and yet to be discovered! My brain enjoyed and brimmed and loved it all, I got absorbed into the world and it was fantastic to see it all, and I enjoyed the squid sisters, and hearing their music made me so so so happy whenever I played. I finally had something new, something interesting to my brain and a new series at that! I got to watch a series grow and grow with it! it felt amazing.

after being an enjoyer of splatoon for a bit and managing to get splatoon 2, I have got to say, this was a wild time in my life, spirals, figuring out my gender from octo expansion, enjoying the hot new zombies-esque mode that had its own map pool, its own objective and its own batch of refined enemies. the game was a whirlwind between the updates, the stuff happening to me during this time, and around it, it felt all so surreal. pearl and marina, where do I start with the cutest idol couple this side of inkadia, pearl having all of my gremlin energy while mrs."I can ramble about my favorite things for hours while also being a real threat in combat" marina made my brain so so excited when it came to lore with them whenever we may get it! The interest had its roller coaster at this point but it was and still is big!

ah, splatoon 3, not too long ago had its 2 year anniversary....2 years of splatoon three, which of course has alot of thoughts when it comes to its existence as well. Let's start with the idols themselves right out the gate, I love the trio of bigman, shiver, and importantly of all to me, frye. They were a fun introduction to the world of the splatlands center town at all the madness and their inclusion in the story mode was unique and I did love it though I do wish we had gotten more of them in some sort of story thing as it felt more like, as others had said, the poor trio got sidelined in their own game to a degree. Salmon run for me really did begin to shine here, the launchers and the new special enemies and waves really brought forth some well needed new things and sometimes let us navigate old maps that were brought back with some more ease then prior, some issues were indeed solved with the old maps with their inclusion though not all. and goodness the feel of this game though with the newly added free version of a battle pass and other grindy elements plus how long I was playing the series made me realise I needed to take a break here and there

so ultimately I picked Present for the final fest, to focus on staying in the moment, to focus on the here and the now. and even with the whole thing with idols....I probably still would have picked the same team, as marina and pearl were the two that saw me change, that saw me start presenting myself online female and stuff...even if its silly my connection with them is important to me.

it was nice to play with friends like topaz and my boyfriend 7 (seen in the picture above) this fest made me emotional and I broke down and am still very emotional after it all, so in my emotions because of being in the feels about this game series that celebrates art and music and their creations. and I think thats what gets me, game development, the development of art, the development of music, all celebrated. it's special to me.

Grand Fest Recollections. Thank You For Two Years!

My heart feels so heavy today. As I woke up to see a sunrise that matched the one we finally have in Splatoon 3, reality settled in.

Life has to go back to normal after a splatfest weekend but this celebration truly changed everything.

The Grand Festival was such a wonderful celebration of Splatoon in its entirety. 

I felt the most unbridled joy experiencing that magic brought to the in-game performances, the live renditions of each song in carefully crafted set-lists and seeing Liquid Sunshine choreography and its vibrancy for the first time.

On and off stream the three stages are where I spent the most time during Grand Fest when I could. I sat around the venue and just took in the details of the concerts and the setting; enjoying that moment in time was how I kept myself grounded.

But I think what had me start to unravel is realizing that I let the actual splatfest battle experience slip away.

I’d seen a Twitter comment on Sunday while I was taking pictures of Three Wishes that mentioned again how we would be able to return to the venue because of a datamine (granted I knew of this from months ago) about the amiibos.

I had no idea when the feature would drop and when we would be able to revisit the Grand Festival Grounds again. It could have been a week from now for all I knew. 

We got the confirmation almost instantaneously. I was overjoyed to be able to go right back but I also felt a little ridiculous for not playing the fest more if this would be the case.

I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who did play matches with me for Team Present though—especially my homies @Chandlier1229, @mxntymoon, @semisentientseafood, @epicyoshimaster and @kosirenn

Big ups to @CJHyperfresh and @Jasbiskus for inviting myself and my partner @squidryder to collab on an amazing stream. It was an unforgettable time and we had so many laughs.

Thank you Ryder for joining me in Tricolor and reacting to the results! You make me smile so much and your presence is a present.

Emotions were high throughout this whole event for a lot of us but personally, I wasn’t able to fully process it until things were ending.

I know I got overwhelmed with the vastness of everything and other more existential thoughts. So, I can only imagine what developing all of this was like.

Admittedly, I felt my reaction to Three Wishes was lackluster. The whole reason I went for an IRL stream was in case I didn’t say much and so that some emotion was visible. 

I cried the first time I heard the song and saw the lyrics but the tears weren’t happening that Saturday.

Granted, there’s a lot happening the first time you experience Three Wishes in-game, but the way the VOD turned out is something I can’t change much like my splatfest team.

While I had my reasoning for joining Team Present, perhaps I was too logical about it. Although that’s what the theme asks of you, I can’t help but lament on this a little bit. I want to work through this feeling.

I went in thinking that the present is where I can experience all of time. It’s a difficult concept and a part of me wishes I had treated it differently. Seeing clips from people playing the splatfest also got me in my feels, too. I wonder if I did enough.

As someone who chose Team Marie and fawns over her the most (Frye is probably a close second at this point), I thought about joining Past simply because she was fighting alongside Callie this time. 

The Squid Sisters had the most compelling splatfest art by far for the event and I know their Grand Fest outfits were my favorite. 

Their music saved me from the moment I played my first Splatoon 1 splatfest. I cried over the Plaza, over seeing them back in the DLC, over hearing City of Color leitmotifs to this day.

The Rainbow Color Inkantation version of it has so much urgency and emotion in the vocals, as if they’re urging you to remember them and fight for the past.

That’s not to say Off the Hook isn’t also meaningful to me, however. They are the reason I was able to pursue voice acting as a hobby in the first place, starting out with voicing over their splatfest dialogue. 

And of course, we all know their formation is still so closely linked to the Squid Sisters existing. Anyone who watches my streams can tell which group I go crazy over the most but choosing in terms of the passage of time may not let your choices align and check both boxes. I agonized over teams for a while.

Ultimately, I stuck to the question as best I could. 

Which is the most important to you?

Experiencing the now. Finally reaching that promised day. 

My memories are never super clear for me unless I preserve them in some form of writing, video or photo. Skill issue on my part but all brains are different. 

So, I repeated this a lot that fateful weekend: the present moment will always become the past so make it count. Choosing one doesn’t mean the other isn’t important but again it was truly difficult.

My past self got me where I am now and every decision I make in the present sets me up for success in the future. 

I grew up hearing that we don’t know what tomorrow looks like and you can’t obsess over it. Although, when you have good things to look forward to you can’t help but anticipate how they’ll play out. 

Past, present and future are intertwined and if you look at the splatfest theme graphic, you’ll see that all the ink swirls connect despite being different colors.

I think that’s why they called the second night of the Grand Festival the Day of Unity. We were all together to witness that performance regardless of team choice.

Music will always be the core of Splatoon and it will carry on across the sea of time, imbued by our passions and joys.

Good games, well played to everyone! I’m really grateful to have been here and seen every splatfest from the beginning this time around. Splatoon has been with me through every season of my life and it's ink-redible.

I have so much appreciation for everyone who stopped by the streams over the weekend. Doubly so for those who shared messages about when they first found my videos and the impact they’ve had.

I’m glad my enjoyment of Splatoon could resonate with you and go so far as to brighten your day.

We reached 3K followers on Twitch (another yearly milestone) with everyone’s support and I met so many new people. To those who know me from my videos only, I hope you’ll stick around for the ride.

Looking back, I started broadcasting there in late 2022 so I’ve streamed every Splatoon 3 splatfest since the World Premiere (aside from the ice cream theme since I was visiting family).

Thank you for letting me share my thoughts this weekend. It had been a rough few weeks leading up to Grand Fest, so, once again I’m glad I could be there in any capacity.

Thank you Splatoon team for everything you’ve created and I hope we can continue to show just how much this series means to us. It’s time for me to finish up some projects from the past.

Ok so I was tagged by @hyena-frog and uhhhh yeah here it be.

Last song: I think the last song I listened to was Under My Skin by Taemin because Taemin always Vibes, but if you really want the good shit, Poor Man’s Poison is something I just recently found and cannot recommend enough. I feel like such a bad bitch even tho I do not have the ability to raise my voice.

Last movie: I really don’t watch movies, I mostly watch serials, but I think the last movie I watched that I actually enjoyed was Grave of the Fireflies, because I like being sad apparently. Lemme just say though, Suicide Squad is not good. It’s just not, but if you have someone to make fun of it with boy oh boy is it a good time.

Currently watching: I am watching both the last season of Castlevania and the first season of Altered Carbon. Funny edge and cyber-future edge. God I want that to be my aesthetic.

Currently reading: I just finished Dumas’ The Three Musketeers and I could have piked such a better book. You can literally choose The Count of Monte Cristo instead. Don’t read it. It sucks the juiciest ass, and not in a good way. I hated everybody from start to finish. The only things interesting was the historical backround. Watching the revival of courtly love is so fun to see in it but also I could talk about it for wayyyy too long, so I’ll spare the details.

Physical books: I also don’t exactly know what this one is supposed to mean, so I’ll take it as ‘what are your favourite books that you own?’ I love all my books, but I’ll narrow it down to three; Sleeping Gods by Sylvain Neuvel, The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu and Morning Star by Pierce Brown. All science fiction, all so goddamn good for different reasons.

Fics: I keep up with three fics, or in once case, a series on ao3: Hunter and Gatherer + A Night at the Oasis by @skullharvester from the video game Baldur’s Gate and Life after Shadow by portabello_road from Horizon Zero Dawn. Both of them are written beautifully, and are interesting everytime I find the time to sit down and read them in one sitting.

Currently craving: Sleep because it is 6:30 and no one awake at 6:30 is actually alert and if you are then I fear you.

Creative Writing Week 25: The Crown of Elders (Rewrite)

Oops, sorry these are late! Gonna start writing some more posts to prepare for.

“The Crown of Elders” is a story that’s been in process for a while- Yet I’m gonna throw all that away and completely rewrite the story! Most things will stay the same, like how and why the crown was stolen, why it’s important and has a strange power to it, and how they get it back.

The story is very basic at the moment, and is one of the earliest stories based off of “The Scourge Family”, and I’m really excited to show you guys all the process we’ll be making on it! I plan to get a few friends to join me and we can have a “writer’s circle” and we can discuss some more details.

The basic story centers around the king’s (Uncle’s) crown, dubbed “The Crown of Elders”, due to the spirits of the past kings being “placed” into the crown. It absorbs the previous king’s energy and strength, which causes its own strength and powers to grow. If it falls into the wrong hands- It could mean the END OF THE WORLD. . .

But not to fear, cause Vix is here! She, along with her team (Oil, Scourge, Stars, along with Uncle, Flame, King, BigMan, and Aunt) stay within the city walls and search for the bandits who stole the crown. I personally can’t wait to get this story finished. As said before, it was one of the very first stories written about “The Scourge Family”, and I feel so bad for letting it sit around for so long! So, I’m gonna work on the story whenever I can, and I will even try to get some more character sketches out based around the story.

I love the spatoon community on reddit, because each idol has their own subreddit, and they are all named in similar ways. Callie has r/callieism, Marie has r/marieism, you get the idea. There is an r/pearlism, r/marinaism, r/fryeism and an r/shiverism. But big man's subreddit doesnt follow this convention. While there is an r/bigmanism, it has only 71 members at the time of writing, as opposed to the 1k-4k every other sub has. The actual big man subreddit is called r/BIGMANSWEEP

What do Frye and Bigman think of Birch?

They actually like them quite a bit. 

Frye thinks that they’re a perfect fit for Shiver, and is excited that she’s moved on past Four. That is, until she finds out that Birch is related to Four, then she gets just a little bit scared of Birch. She knows how strong Four is and, seeing Birch’s sharp teeth, knows that she should not get on their bad side.

Big Man thinks that Birch is wondeful and fully supports their relationship with Shiver. He doesn’t really care that they’re related to Four, if anything he sees it as an opporunity to get to know Four better.

fav moment: IN CYBERVERSE WHEN HE GETS EMBARRASED DOING THE SPEECH AT THE PARTY. OR IN TFA WHEN HE FINDS SENTINEL DURING THE HEADMASTERS ISSUE AND HE LETS OUT JUST THE MOST GLEEFUL FUCKING LAUGH. OR IN G1 WHEN HE SAYS BOOBIES.

story idea: g1, tfa, and cyberverse optimus meet idw optimus and proceed to have a communal "haha what the fuck 😬" moment. why are you a cop.

unpopular opinion: idw1 optimus did actually have a really interesting POV and i liked reading what barber did with him, i just wish it was a tinge less grimdark. and also just because i think he was morally abhorrent doesnt mean i think the story wasnt worth reading. like it did kind of suck but it was partially interesting and had a lot of potential! barber just needed to commit to some things more than he did. ironically, it was his centrist writing tactics that made optimus prime go from "interesting look at why centrism doesnt work" to "mediocre grimdark cop story".

fav relationship: in idw, its his relationship with rodimus. in general, probably bumblebee. in war for cybertron specifically, megatron & elita. in g1, elita. in tfa, i really liked him and sari interacting, tho im also fond of the dynamic he had with the various members of the elite guard, and if blackarachnia wasnt so Manpain i think that couldve been really cool to see them talk more/to see her get some closure! their dynamic was very batman/catwoman i liked it a lot. also honorable mention to cyberverse megop its the only continuity where megop means anything to me other than "just some guys".

fav headcanon: that he was way smaller pre-matrix and had to get used to being Bigman. also that hes a working-class icon, a communist, and not a cop, ever.

Sam and Dean

“Why do I need this when I got this?” Gunman said, holding up his gun.

 “First things first, what are your names?” Dean asked. “We’re gonna need to communicate and we need names.”

 “Thomas,” gunman said after a moment. Blondie was Axel, Bigman was Big Tiny, Shortie was Andrew, and the one with kids was Oscar.

 “Daryl,” Daryl said.

 “Sam.”

 “Dean.”

 “T.”

 “Rick.”

 “Alright, now that we’ve introduced ourselves, tell me why I need a crowbar when I’ve got a gun.”

 “You don’t fire guns. Not unless your back’s against the wall,” Sam said, closing his eyes in frustration.

 “Noise attracts them,” Dean said.

 “We’ll run in two by two. Daryl will run point with T. Sam will be in the middle. Dean and I will bring up the rear with you,” Rick said, pointing his knife at Thomas. “Stay tight, hold formation no matter how close the walkers get.”

 “Anyone breaks ranks, we could all go down,” Dean said.

 “If anyone runs off, they could get mistaken for a walker. End up with a knife to the head,” Rick continued.

 “That’s where you aim. They’ll only go down with a head shot.”

 “You ain’t gotta tell us how to take out a man,” Thomas said.

 “They ain’t men. They’re something else,” T-Dog said.

 “Just remember to go for the brain.” Axel and Big Tiny looked nervously at each other and Thomas picked up his weapons. Daryl and T-Dog left first, Sam and the prisoners following them, and Dean walked behind them all with Rick, shouldering his pack. It was time to go.

 ---

 Everyone but the prisoners were light on their feet. Every time one of them made too much noise, Dean winced and looked over his shoulder.

 “Man, it’s too damn dark in here,” Oscar complained.

 “You’ll hear ‘em before ya see ‘em,” Daryl said. “Hold your weapon up high.”

 A noise was heard in the distance and Axel freaked. “It’s coming!”

 “Shut up,” Sam hissed. Looking at the wall, Sam saw a shadow moving towards the group and he could hear the tell-tale snarl of a walker. They all got ready to fight but once the walkers were both in sight, the prisoners ran towards them, yelling. It was pure chaos and Rick pinched the bridge of his nose. Looking at his family, Rick saw that they all held the same expression as him.

 “They’re going to get themselves killed,” Dean muttered. Daryl shot one and Dean pushed Andrew out of the way before plunging his knife into its brain. Yanking the knife out, Dean looked at them.

 “That’s how you do it.” Taking his place next to Rick, Dean flicked some of the blood off his knife.

 Moving forward, the group ran into more and Daryl shot one again.

 “Go for the brain. Not the stomach, or the heart. The brain,” he said.

 “I hear you. Brain,” Axel said. Another walker came up and Oscar was quick to put it down.

 “Like that?”

 “Uh-huh.” Axel got the next one and then Sam.

 “Stay in tight formation. No more prison riot crap.”

 More snarling was heard and Sam and Dean watched as the prisoners killed the geeks. They didn’t notice Big Tiny stumble away from the carnage, but when they heard his scream, everyone went running. Rick killed one and Thomas fired three shots into the last one. All the walkers were dead and Dean looked at Thomas.

 “Are you out of your fucking mind?” Dean hissed. “What did we say about guns!”

 He ignored Dean and stared down Rick. With a shake of his head, Sam pushed past Thomas and looked at Big Tiny. He reached for his back and blood was on his hand. Turning him gently, Sam saw scratch marks and he frowned. His eyes met Rick’s and Sam shook his head. Rick shined his light on Big Tiny then turned away.

 “I’m telling you, I don’t feel anything. It’s just a scratch.”

 “I’m sorry, man,” Rick said.

 “I can keep fighting!”

 “You cut that old guy’s leg off to save his life,” Andrew said.

 “Look where it is,” Sam said. “Can’t cut that off.”

 “Guys, I’m fine! Look at me. I’m not changing into one of those things.”

 “There’s gotta be something we can do,” Oscar said. “We could lock him up.”

 “Quarantine him?” Axel suggested.

 “You gotta do something! Why you just standing there, we gotta save him.”

 “There’s nothing we can do,” Rick said.

 “You son of a bitch,” Andrew said. His bat was raised and Dean stepped forward. Then, Thomas hit Big Tiny in the head, knocking him to the ground. After looking at his crowbar, he went to town on Big Tiny, bashing his head in so much, nothing was left. Blood splattered everywhere and Thomas had an unsettling look in his eye. Rick could tell that the other prisoners were slightly in shock and he cleared his throat.

 “We gotta keep moving you said. Shouldn’t stay in one place too long,” Rick said.  

 “He’s right. Let’s go.”

 T-Dog took the front with Sam and Dean was in the back with Daryl and Rick. Thomas was directly in front of them and they kept their eyes trained on him.

 “Ya see the look on his face?” Daryl quietly said. They both nodded. “He makes one move, just give me the signal.”

 The group kept walking until they got to the laundry room. T-Dog entered first, the prisoners second. The room was quiet, no walkers present. Sam’s eyes landed on the clean sheets and he stuffed some in Dean’s bag. Rick had his attention turned to the double doors, walkers clearly behind it. Daryl threw his set of keys to Thomas and stood slightly behind him.

 “I ain’t openin’ that,” he said.

 “Yes you are. If you want this cell block, you’re gonna open that door,” Rick said. “Just the one, not both. We need to control this.”

 Thomas picked the keys up with a huff and walked to the door. Dean steadied his knife, stance wide. Glancing at Daryl, he nodded. Nodding back, Dean faced the doors. Thomas struggled with the keys and Daryl rolled his eyes. When he found the right one, he tried to open the door, but it was stuck. Looking back, he muttered something and then opened both doors.

 “I said one door!” Rick yelled. Dean swore and started swinging at the walkers.

 “Shit happens,” Thomas spat back.

 He hit one and it fell to the ground. One of them got close to Sam and he hit its head, his knife getting stuck. Another one was getting close, so Dean rolled to the ground, taking his knife and driving it up through the geek’s mouth. Out of the corner of Dean’s eye, he saw Thomas shove a walker at Rick. Dean scrambled towards Rick, but Daryl got there first.

 Soon, all of them were gone and Dean stalked towards Thomas. Sam held him back and he struggled to get out of Sam’s grip.

 “What the fuck was that!” Dean yelled.

 “It was coming at me, bro,” Thomas said, shrugging his shoulders.

 “Yeah, yeah, I get it,” Rick said. “Shit happens.”

 They were staring at the other, everyone seeing Rick’s jaw tick. The room was tense and when Rick heaved his machete into Thomas’ skull, Andrew swung his bat at him. Rick kicked him down, Sam and Dean quickly pointing their guns at the other two prisoners. Andrew ran away and Rick chased after him. Dean was facing Axel, Sam and Daryl facing Oscar.

 “Put the weapons down,” Sam said.

 “Get down on your knees,” Daryl spat. Carefully, Oscar knelt down and threw his axe away.

 “We don’t have no affiliation to what just happened,” Axel said. “Tell ‘em Oscar!”

 “Stop talking, man.”

 “Put your weapon down and get on your knees,” Dean said, cocking his gun. He did it with shaky movements, and T-Dog kicked their weapons away. Once Rick got back, he questioned them.

 “We didn’t have nothing to do with that,” Oscar said.

 “You didn’t know? You knew. Daryl, let’s end this now.”

 “Sir, sir, you gotta listen, please! It was them that was bad, it wasn’t us!”

 “That’s convenient.”

 “You saw what he did to Tiny. He was my friend. Please, we ain’t like that. I like my pharmaceuticals, but I ain’t no killer,” Axel said. He was scared and they could see some tears in his eyes. “We ain’t the violent kind, they were! I swear to god! I wanna live!”

 Dean kept his gun trained on Axel and Rick went over to Oscar.

 “What about you?”

 “I ain’t never pleaded for my life. I’m not gonna start now. So you do what you gotta do.”

 After a moment, Rick pulled his gun away and gestured for everyone to do the same. Quietly, Rick led the prisoners to Cell Block B. Daryl unlocked the door, and Rick shoved Axel inside, Oscar following. Bodies were in the opening of every cell, their brains splattered all over the floor.

 “I knew these guys,” Axel said. “These were good men.”

 “Let’s go,” Rick said.

 “So you’re just gonna leave us here?” Oscar asked. “Man, this is sick!”

 “We’re locking down this cell block. From now on, this part of the prison is yours. Take it or leave it. That was the deal.”

 Rick walked out and Dean looked at the two men.

 “You think this is sick? You don’t wanna know what’s outside,” Dean said.

 “Consider yourselves the lucky ones,” Rick said.

 “Sorry ‘bout your friends, man,” Daryl said.

 “Word of advice,” T-Dog said. “Take those bodies outside and burn them.”
