Tumblr Sexyman, a title bestowed unto only the (un)lucky few.  Oncler, sans, Bill Cipher, Reigen, Komaeda, dear god wheatley somehow, i think maybe prussia, that spider from hotel dusk or whatever, there are a good handful to keep track of.

However, to counter balance that, there are hundreds if not thousands of characters that, with different circumstances, could have become Tumblr Sexymen, but fortunately evaded such infamy.

32 Competitors that could have totally been Tumblr sexymen, whether they match the tropes or simply have the vibes, but never got the chance. Some, due to another character stealing their spotlight, others, from a franchise obscure enough that nobody noticed or they didn’t get reach outside of their own fandom, and others, simply nobody realized their true potential. Who will win and earn the ultimate title of the ultimate sexyman couldabeen?

(I would love to say the winner gets to legally be considered a tumblr sexyman for real but i sadly do not have that authority.)

i originally was sorta happy in a bittersweet way cause i thought, well at least marcille has company, they have eachother to lean on now!

...but then i realized marcille isnt immortal. shes gonna live LONG, but shes not immortal. AND I GOT SO EXTREMELY SAD

can you imagine, trying to convince your friend not to extend everyones lifespans to a scarily long degree. and then having to help her deal with that fear and grief of losing her loved ones. AND THEN REALIZING YOURE IMMORTAL AND OUTLIVING ALL OF YOUR LOVED ONES INCLUDING HER. imagine being marcille as she gets older watching laios experience the same exact fear and grief she knows so well and knowing she cant do anything other than reassure him itll be alright. imagine being so scared to die and now suddenly you know someone who CANT die and realizing thats SO MUCH WORSE paces in circles. AAAAAAUGH

additional thought of this au, what if this was part of the demons curse to never allow laios' greatest desire to be granted? i mean laios is a very simple guy with simple wants, he wants to be loved, to eat good food, to study monsters, to be around his friends, and generally just live a normal life. being immortal would definitely complicate things... he'll be able to see and experience so many things but he wont be able to do it with his loved ones, not for long.

and also, being king, he'd probably be in that position for a long long time - maybe he'd willingly retire at some point but even after that where would he go then? what would he do? he cant go and find monsters to study, they all avoid him. i guess, explore the rest of the world? watch everything move on without him?

speaking of, imagine if he lived up until a time like modern day. so many years so many friends (gained and lost) and so many changes... that would be insane. THIS IS SPIRALLING INTO ME JUST GOING "WOULDNT IT BE FUCKED UP TO BE IMMORTAL" AJDNSJXBAH

anyways, final note, im reminded too of this "hand my my shovel, im going in!" animatic that haunts my mind forever AUGH its so good, and captures my immortality thoughts perfectly

The “you think this has nothing to do with you” scene in The Devil Wears Prada is so interesting to me, because on one hand:

It is precipitated by the protagonist openly scoffing at a discussion over which belt the model should wear because they look similar, which is a silly thing to do, both in the sense that of course visual details matter at a fashion photography shoot, and in the sense that it’s generally inadvisable to go to your workplace and let everyone know how stupid you think the work is; and

It is interesting to think about how fashion trends travel across different markets.

But, on the other hand:

I think that one is morally justified, if impolitic, to show disdain for an industry where everyone is always calling you fat and stupid and ugly. Normal workplace rules don’t exactly apply;

Miranda called her sweater ugly in the same scene! Is she not, by her own logic, responsible for the sweater’s ugliness? If she can sneer at clothing from less expensive retailers, why is it a problem for Andy to indifferently wear an affordable sweater and scoff at high fashion?;

Kind of embarrassing in 2006 for Miranda to not acknowledge the downmarket to upmarket fashion influence at all; and

Andy, as a member of society and a resident of a city that gets cold sometimes, kind of has to wear clothes. I don’t think any points are actually being made here.

My beautiful kitty, little Killah, passed away today. She would've turned 17 in September. A beautiful and stubborn little lady, I loved with my entire heart.

We buried her in the garden. Just before we placed her there, a group of 7-8 pigeons stood in a circle, with a white dove in the middle. We think it was her way of saying thank you and a final goodbye. Sleep well, lille mis.

Leosagi dating across dimensions except Raph, Mikey, and Donnie don’t believe he exists would be so funny because Leo tries to explain like “Yeah he’s a cute rabbit samurai from another universe! Well no, you can’t meet him yet, he’s currently in his own universe taking care of some stuff but— he’s gonna visit soon!” And they’re all like, “sure… your ‘boyfriend from another universe’… uh huh.”

Bonus points if Usagi DOES keep visiting regularly but due to a comedy of errors, Leo’s entire family keeps missing him and never actually meeting him and Leo screams his frustrations into the void because Donnie keeps making “Does he go to another school too?” Jokes and it drives him up the wall.

When they finally do meet him it’s while Leo is making a big speech to his family about how Usagi IS real and how great he is and that he’ll prove it one day because he’s important to Leo and he loves him. And once Leo has finished talking he notices his entire family is looking at something behind him and suddenly he hears, “Awe, you love me?” And Leo whips around and Usagi is standing in the entrance to the lair with a big goofy grin on his face like, “Hi. I’m Usagi, Leo’s Definitely Real Boyfriend.”

EEnE / Eddy EDit (Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In! - Will Wood and the Tapeworms)

I'm going to give some context because Will Wood's songs can be somewhat abstract, difficult to understand and have many different interpretations.

This song reminds me a lot of Eddy (in fact, a lot of Will Wood's songs remind me of him and I have several other edits planned) because it's about:

Self-destructive behavior

Having an unhealthy addiction

Never wanting to give up on going deeper and deeper into your goal

The desire to hit the bottom (which is mostly rock bottom)

Believing that you're special, "the chosen one", destined for greatness, that you have a greater purpose to fulfill, or that only you can do or solve something, and you'll do anything to achieve this

Desperately wanting to prove yourself

The desire to go even further down the rabbit hole

The addictive and obsessive desire to never stop even when it's taking you down a bad path and making you worse because you just gotta get to the bottom, and even when you seem to be at your worst you feel that it's still not enough and that you can still keep going, so you just keep going and going and getting worse and worse until you hit the bottom. You also start to lose your mind, go insane, and your addiction is so unhealthy and out of control and you're so determined to hit the bottom that you'll continue even if it kills you, and it even seems impossible to actually get to the bottom because you just go deeper and deeper no matter what

This is very worrying behavior, but hitting rock bottom is often necessary for people to finally understand that they need to stop, just like what happened to Eddy.

Some excerpts from interpretations on Genius to complement:

The phrase “I need to hit the bottom” may be a reference to the phrase “hitting rock bottom,” which addicts use to describe their lowest point that made them realize they needed to change. [...] He later on in the song comes to the conclusion that with the right kind of shovel or justification, you can always reach a deeper “bottom.”

He could be trying to prove that he needs help. A large portion of addicts/people struggling with mental illness don’t believe that they deserve help until they have reached rock bottom. Here, Wood might be saying that he needs to “hit the bottom” in order to deserve help.

I purposely chose scenes of Double D talking about already being enough, that he's had enough, to contrast with the "This is not enough" in the song (which represents Eddy) because while the others around Eddy (especially Double D) have had enough of his self-destructive behavior, he appears to be obsessed and desperate to prove himself and will do whatever it takes to do so, even if it leads to his own doom. The feeling is that he still needs to get even worse until he can't take it anymore to finally admit that he needs help, or even to feel that he is worthy of being helped.

It's a very chaotic song that I think suits Eddy perfectly.

How ironic is it that this was the edit I spent the most time working on non-stop? I swear, I worked on it from 3:20 am to 12:30 pm, I had lunch and went to the bathroom, then continued working on it until 9:40 pm. Yes, I hadn't sleep and that's not healthy, but I'm used to it and it's becoming more common since I started hyperfixating on Ed, Edd n Eddy. I swear I didn't even feel the hours passing, I'm just having fun as always when I make Eddy edits. I just totally got into the vibe of the song and was in full "This is not enough. I need to hit the bottom" mode. Never stop until the edit is complete... Whenever inspiration hits me I just have to work until I'm done because I need to make the most of that sudden moment of inspiration and hyperfixation because I'm scared that it'll disappear before I'm done, and my head starts coming up with ideas and more ideas and I get really excited to finish my edits while the ideas are fresh.

honestly? yeah! the first arc is pretty damn solid and a ton of fun, so even if the first five are the only ones you read, it'll be a good time. fun characters, cool concepts, Dragons As People... it's just neat. the first arc - Dragonet Prophecy through The Brightest Night - is the best of the three

the second one is fun too, with awesome new characters and concepts, but honestly? i'd recommend reading it just so that you understand the solo book Darkstalker, bc imo that is the BEST book in the series. it fucks so severely, im not even exaggerating. it. goes. Hard. but yeah arc two - Moon Rising through Darkness of Dragons - while not as good as the first one, is a fun read, and the characters are (with a few exceptions) bangers. shit gets crazy

arc three... eh. its mid compared to arc two, let alone the first. Sutherland's writing slowly starts to lose quality and the plot is... uh. interesting. some of the characters are fun, but it's just! it could be better! but there is another standalone that's a fun read, which would be Dragonslayer - if memory serves, you don't need to read the arc to understand it, since its new characters + takes place in the past (but i'd rec reading that after at least the first arc). it's not Darkstalker levels of good, but i could compare its quality to the second arc
