Week 9
Week 9-Industrial Design
Milwaukee fits into the history of industrial design because there used to be large factories located downtown that would make leather products, huge motors and so on. The Pabst brewing company come about in 1882 but then eventually closed down in 1996 for various reasons. The Bucyrus Erie Company is one of the biggest manufacturers that produce mining equipment along with several working class small businesses. We have evolved quite a bit from back then, but this just shows how far we have come with industrial design. Brooks Stevens decided to stay in Milwaukee for his career because he said that was where his business was.
