Who wants to see some neat stuff I found poking around the Bi Women Quarterly archives
"Bistory at the Lesbian Herstory Archives"
"I talked with Joan about the principles behind the LHA and her vision of its future. She said that the LHA is dedicated first and foremost to being a lesbian space.
When I asked her what she meant by "lesbian" she offered "any woman who has at some time in her life loved another woman" She also remarked that she would rather err on theside of inclusivity than be too exclusive, which explains the large collection of materials relevant to both lesbians and gay men(such as the Gay Community News), feminist materials, and a small but growing collection of materials on bisexuality. For Joan, the mission of the LHA is "to preserve the multiplicity of lesbian presentations." There is something of interest here for any woman who identifies herself as a dyke, a feminist, a mother, a butch or a femme, a prostitute, a worker in a traditional or a non-traditional occupation, a practitioner of S&M, a woman of color, a Jew, a witch, a teenager or an olderwoman, a closeted woman or an activist, a bisexual, an artist, and the list goes on. The sheer amount and variety of the stuff is testimony to the diversity of the lesbian experience and the vitality of lesbian communities"
A poem "Here I Am" by latina bi dyke Laura Perez
"we dream a world
which bridges the barriers,
i, this
bi-coastal, bisexual
dyke of color
have living proof
the distance is
not so great"
Here's the whole thing go check it out
I also found a bi femme and trans lesbian butch couple- and my freakin heart I wish them the most wonderful things wherever they ended up in life
"How I Learned to Love My Femme Self, Butch Dykes, and Transgender Warriors" by Liz Nania
"Laurie honored my bisexuality and I honored her proud trans butchness. We often felt like poster girls for Bi-Trans Unity. She stood up for me to her separatist-lesbian friends who were disapproving of her dating a bi woman; I stood up for her when I heard trans-phobic remarks- We both know bisexuals and transgendered people are truly natural allies and need to celebrate and further develop our bonds i the community"
And here's a lesbian identified bisexual talking about assumptions
"Dont Assume Anything" by Amy Wyeth.
"They say, "Don't Assume Anything" and "Question Au- thority." No one, including gays, bis and hetero- sexuals, should assume anything about someone's sexual preference based only on the way that person looks. Everyone should question the notions defined or perpetuated by those in positions of authority (e.g. the media, certain powerful icons/members of gay culture, and cer- tain dangerous bigots) as to what a lesbian or bisexual woman looks like. Not all of us feel we are well represented by such narrow definitions."
Just goes to show how timeless the bi witticism of Assume Nothing! really is. I highly recommend just perusing through the archives or even the current isues there's loads of interesting history

Exclus: “Bi Lesbian is a new made up term”
Actuality: “Bisexual Lesbians are a large and irremovable part of the Lesbian community, even if many Lesbians treat them with insults, ignorance, stereotyping, exclusion, rejection, invalidation, and worst of all, silence”
- Bi Women Quarterly, 1983
(Not that it matters if the term is “new” or not to begin with)

American Psycho has been hijacked by ideological misogynists; and the most common counter argument I see is people pointing out that the film was directed by a woman, the book was written by a gay (or bi, depending on who you ask) man and therefore it should be obvious that it’s a satire. This is true, but it doesn’t touch on just how anti-manosphere AP actually is (despite predating online in-cel culture) and I want to explain what I mean —
Bret Easton Ellis explicitly stated that AP is not only a satire on materialist culture, but that it’s primarily a self-directed critique — he had a period in his life where he aspired for the ideal male lifestyle presented in magazines like Gentleman’s Quarterly. This alienated him from the people around him. It made him miserable.
We see this in Patrick as well, though it’s exacerbated by his presumed AsPD and very clear mental illness. His pathological need to be the perfect man, to have the perfect life, completely isolates him. Women are nothing more than objects, prey, meat. They only serve to satisfy his desires — in the film, he and his friends laugh about how “there are no girls with good personalities” and the ideal woman is “a little hardbody who will satisfy all sexual demands without question”. (A conversation which also occurs in the novel almost verbatim). Sound familiar?
In a particularly gruesome scene near the end of the novel, Patrick says: “though it does sporadically penetrate how unacceptable some of what I’m doing actually is, I just remind myself that this thing, this girl, is nothing, is shit [
]”. This is exactly the way that manosphere content conditions men to think.
A few sentences later we get the kind of thing you see “blackpill” guys saying when they explain their plight: “And later my macabre joy sours and I’m weeping for myself, unable to find solace in any of this, crying out, sobbing “I just want to be loved”, cursing the earth and everything I have been taught: principles, distinctions, choices, morals, compromises, knowledge, unity, prayer [
]”
Tl;dr: Patrick Bateman is explicitly (albeit sort-of inadvertently) and fundamentally an anti-in-cel figure. He is a warning.

Okay which one of you gyns on here recommended the "bi women quarterly" paper because this current edition is so, so absurd. Like idk how the editor read this and was like "eyup this belongs in here" but there's multiple pieces in this issue that I feel that way about. It's so fucking misogynistic and homophobic this time around what the fuck.

This old post is doing the rounds again, which is timely! I (OP) have recently joined the editorial team of Bi+ Women Quarterly, a publication featuring the art and writing of bi+ women globally. BWQ has been around since 1983 and exists as an entirely free resource for folks across the world. (You can find past issues at the link above!)
We're currently fundraising as part of Give OUT Day to keep this resource free, accessible, and to share it out as widely as possible. There are a lot of really, really important places to put your money right now, and I know most of us here on Tumblr aren't swimming with cash; if you can spare a few dollars and would find value in supporting this, either by donating or reblogging, I'd appreciate it. You can donate here.

So! This is tumblr's staff asking for your input on what pride merch you, as a user, are interested in seeing, and which charities you as a user are interested in supporting. This is a public interest question.
It is not, as far as I can tell, a request for free labour. Hence the addition at the end about wanting to explore distribution with tumblr's existing artists.
Don't get all Fucking Weird about this. If you have an opinion, share it politely. Remember that there are human people who have to read your messages and turn them into useable information. If your opinion is "I would rather not see this post" you can always unfollow me instead of being mean to people paid to take it with a smile.
So, all that out of the way!!!!
Pride shoelaces are a must. Maybe the kind that you don't have to tie, as a nod to Queer Wrath Month also being Disability Pride Month. There's lots of variety in no-tie laces, but I personally like the ones with the coil and the ones with the lock:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One benefit of the locking kind is, the lock and tab can be different colors/designs from the main lace, eg a rainbow lace with a tumblr blue lock.
A quick search here on tumblr turned up creator @robynochs's pride shoelaces from last year, which may be a good starting point too!
Heres a tip: Do not make limited edition pride stuff in the tumblr shop! I know June is coming up, But if your gonna add pride stuff actually give it a lot of thought, Come up with the designs, Maybe make some subtle pride for people to buy who don't want their parents to know? That'd be cool! But don't make it a limited time thing, A lot of people see it as people using a money grabber to take our cash then we wait for another 11 months
I think it'd be cool to have pride merch, But only if its well thought out. You should ask the community and make polls about it, See what we all think! It should be like that for every merch piece honestly, Then we can help you mold it into something the community will genuinely like and buy
Please Please Please help me with this. I've been wanting to make Pride stuff for a while but this is one area I don't have any experience with and I really want to do it right. Can you help me out? What can we make that is meaningful and respectful? I don't want this to be a cash grab, something we all feel icky about. I want this to be something that brings us all closer together and make merch that means something. Also would it make sense to donate a portion of the sales to a charity. If so, which one. I would love to do some good with sales of this merch but I didn't want it to see like a marketing tactic. Please share this with your friends. I usually promote posts like this to get more visibility but I don't want the hate that I usually get to transfer over to any of you or this initiative.
Edit: I'd love to collaborate with tumblr artists/store owners on this. We could sell Pride stuff they've already made or make new stuff. Send people my way if you think they'd be interested.

What Do You Need to Know About Magazines?
Unquestionably, magazines are a mine of information and entertainment. People who are regular magazine readers are usually the most informed about the world. The subject matter of magazines tends to differ.
The choice is completely up to you: It could be health, education, fashion, movies, technology, science, business and the economy, sports, lifestyle, travel, tourism, or anything in between. Besides reading magazines at your abode, you’ll also find various Men’s Magazines in hotels, airplanes, offices, salons and just about any place with a waiting room.
It is seen that women are more inclined to read magazines more frequently than men. They usually like to read about fashion, beauty, health, celebrity gossip, and home-care magazines. Men, however, are gravitated to read on topics like sports, technology, and business. You can find so much information about Gadgets for Men in magazines.
Tumblr media
There are plenty of magazines to satisfy their interests, too. Regardless of your gender or your interests, there’s a magazine to satisfy your informational needs and appetite. The frequency of publication is generally weekly or monthly, though there are some bi-monthlies, quarterly and annual magazines.
Who is Likely to Read and Subscribe to Magazines?
Just like groceries and electricity, many households think of magazine subscriptions as one of the regular expenses. These families can stay well informed regarding matters all around the world and stay up to date on their favourite subjects. And all this information is delivered straight to their mailbox and these days inbox every week or every month.
Many offices also subscribe to magazines, mainly for two reasons:
1. To keep employees knowledgeable regarding the latest development in the company’s industry.
2. To engage guests while they wait for appointments.
Magazines are excellent for this situation, as they equip customers with a chance to catch up with world events and other interests while they wait. A comprehensive selection of magazines in a waiting room is considered to be quite professional and considerate.
Online Subscription:
At present, it is possible to buy almost everything online. Cheap magazine subscriptions are no exception. By subscribing to a magazine online, you can get instant access to excellent articles in the print edition as well as content published outside the regular publication cycle.
Publishers are delivering nearly all their magazines online, and you’ll frequently find them for less cost than a regular print subscription. Try it now. All you need to do us enter your favourite magazine’s name into your favourite search engine and pick the deal that works for you.
You can also find so much health regarding information by reading the best Men’s Health Magazine that are also available online.

Hell hath no fury like a woman!
(10/2022)
a pen drawing representing my feelings surrounding the fight of feminism across the world over this year...
the reference image I used was from these very invasive but powerful photos of Algerian women during the Algerian War in the 60's taken by Marc Garanger, which I feel adds to my intentions of this piece...
I can't give these women their respect or privacy back, all I can do is channel their anger and pain into this art to represent all women who have had their rights eroded!
