Just when Edwin is making up his mind to put his crush on Charles aside and start looking for his "adventure of the heart" elsewhere, that's right when Charles starts to get more interested. And we may expect him to get all flirty but he actually gets more nervous and genuine with Edwin.

Monty becomes humanoid again and is learning who he is out on his own. Maybe he gets a job and apartment. Trying to figure out his purpose as an individual instead of familiar.

Cat King has a name, an animated backstory, and a new love interest that sees through his bullshit and keeps him humble

Heyy! I'm glad I find many people who are into respawning! Actually mine's a long ass story and you might wonder how am I even doing fine to this day 😭

Okay so long story short, let's begin.

Back in 2022, I discovered shifting. After finding out about loa in 2021, I was anticipated to shift realities just to escape this one. I hated being here. I was suffering with depression, bi polar, avpd, anxiety and maladaptive daydreaming, and I was from a toxic household with narcissistic, toxic and strict parents and fake af friends. It was really hard for me to even open up to somebody. It was hard for me to handle (actually I'm tearing up rn while I type this... Especially those traumas are the worst thing I ever experienced)

When I started my research about shifting, I got into amino. I saw the word 'respawn' and I was like tf is this?? I thought it was some gaming shit and then when I researched it on amino, I really wanted to go away from here and be happier than ever. I wanted to be in peace and do whatever I want in my reality. And no one should judge or stop me from getting what I want. I quickly scripted the place I wanna respawn, and other stuffs. I decided that I will get tf outta here.

Well because I had a reason that I'll respawn, I completely ignored my 3D circumstances. Like I stopped taking care of myself, stopped talking to people around me, stopped studying, stopped doing everything. I just was desperately trying to respawn every night telling myself that I will.

When in fact I was wasting my time and energy into lack. I almost didn't study for my finals and wrote the exams and hope that I'd respawn before my results will be declared. I used to keep time crunches to respawn, and when I didn't, I used to get so depressed, that I attempted to take my own life for the first time ever back in may 2022.

My brother accidentally entered my room and saved me from doing that. When I say I've almost attempted to take my own life for like 10+ times that same year, I still didn't give up. My exam results came and I luckily passed my exams.

So after all these I decided to give a break for 3 months completely for my own mental health. Ik my journey for 2 years wasn't smooth, it was full of ups and downs, and it messed my mental health up. I wasn't even using loassumption in a proper manner at that time. Ngl, I was so damn desperate for manifesting even the smallest stuff (I just wanna time travel back in time and slap the shit outta that version of me that I was back then 💀)

So when I got into a medical university in 2023 January, I completely forgot about respawning for a while. And again in October 2023, I logged into Tumblr, and became friends with one of the respawner Julie. She was so sweet, that she even answered every stupid doubts of mine (God give me Julie's patience 🗣️🗣️) she had respawned back in October 2023.

She was the one who told me 'SELF CONCEPT IS THE KEY!' so I started working on my self concept for like 1 and a half-ish months.... Well, I wasn't even perfect with it, but I tried. I did many challenges but the meraskii one had a good effect on my mindset. So last Christmas, I even learnt about the void (I hate implying it as void, I'd rather say it as I AM state) I wanted to enter it so bad.

I just did my affs, persisted in it, and listened to subs, and on Christmas Eve, I got into it successfully.

This year, I find respawning a very relaxing topic. Like I don't even get bothered by it. I know I'm already where I wanna be. And don't worry, my mental health has been good for a few days now. I was thinking of changing my script, so for the past 2 months, I've been scripting my new reality, well still it's only half way done hehe.

By the end of this month, I'm planning on respawning through the void. So till then I just wanna be thankful for everything here and enjoy every moment here without regrets.

Everybody's journey is different. All you have to do is embody your desired state. You just have to be the version of you having your desires. Be the one who already has it. For me, that took 3 years to click. I just had to relax and give myself in. Let go and enjoy the fact that I already have my desires in the 4d.

kinda funny (but not really) how i had finished season 5 of 9-1-1 a few weeks before the season 7 premiere and told myself I'll take a little hiatus (like the show does) and give it maybe a month or so before i catch up and watch season 6 and then the april 4th episode happened and i'd been tuning in here and there just to see more of buck and tommy's development (because i sure as hell was going to experience bi buck in real-time and not wait whatsoever) so now i pretty much know everything that happens in season 7, and know relatively nothing about season 6 (which i've heard is probably the most polarizing season of the show) and i'm gonna have to sit through all these past storylines and pointless relationship arcs knowing what i know is in store for me come the following season... LOL...why did i do this to myself 🫠

Art for Toritsuka/Hairo fic where I explored what was meant to be a crack ship and is now one of my favourite (??) ships in Saiki k- PLEASE HEAR ME OUT

(A long rant ensues so, if you don’t want that then that’s all good and you don’t have to click, but if you’re interested, then welcome to my rant about a rare pair i love!)

Of course, I started out by simply laughing at the “I hate men” line Toritsuka said about Hairo and thinking writing a crack taken seriously fic would be funny and it would be a nice break before I started this other fic I have planned that is going to be an even bigger endeavour with Saiki k x Danganronpa. What I didn’t see happening was for this Torihai fic to completely take over my brain space and end up with a fic just shy of 20,000 words.

This may not seem like a lot, but I usually only write fics in 1,000-2,000s so this is a lot for me, especially since I’m a slow writer/editor so it takes me a while.

Part of the reason I love these two together is because of the inherent dynamic of Hairo’s inspirational preachiness and how it doesn’t work on Toritsuka, and how it might be refreshing for Hairo to have someone who challenges him (and not in the fake way Teruhashi does, with Toritsuka being very upfront and honest about it). Toritsuka also, because he’s so upfront about his feelings, helps Hairo to express certain emotions like annoyance/sadness that he wouldn’t normally express outwardly. Something else too is that Toritsuka tends to be very physically affectionate, and I don’t know that Hairo is used to that (I haven’t seen any examples of him being physically affectionate in any other way than a bro way) so that could be refreshing as well. Also, also, Toritsuka is Hairo’s gym buddy who was reluctantly dragged along that day Saiki was trying to avoid everyone and no one can change my mind lol (this, in Hairo’s mind, forms a bond between them that can never be broken and he will never stop reminding Toritsuka of this when they hang out).

I just think their dynamic can be playful/fun because they’re both real with each other if that makes sense?

On Toritsuka’s side of things, he doesn’t have a lot of friends and the friends he does have he either doesn’t have any chemistry with or hate him (Saiki lol), so I think it’d be nice for him to have someone who is extremely caring/attentive to his friends and clearly cares deeply about them and shows it often. Because of this, Hairo shows interest in Toritsuka’s life, and for someone who probably hasn’t had many friends, that would mean a lot. Also the fact that Hairo cares so much for Toritsuka sets an example as to how to be a good friend/human would behave and could help him grow as a person (which are always the best friendships/relationships when they grow together rather than staying stagnant and dragging each other down). Being more caring of others and allow him to develop his interpersonal relationships with more than just ghosts, instead with real humans.

Also, I’ve taken to calling them the “errand boys” because it’s a great prompt to force two people who are polar opposites and would never interact to hang out/do an activity together, so I thought it fit them perfectly.

In the fic I changed a few things from canon (sexualities obviously- Tori is bi/queer and Hairo is gay. Although quick side-tangent- I’ve written Tori/Kaidou, Tori/Akechi, and now Tori/Hairo and all three of them either are Asexual or are often headcanonned as ace by the community/me and I just find it very funny that the horniest character is continuously shipped with them. I only realized I did this after I first started writing the fic.)

- Hairo explicitly has psychic powers (it’s something they can bond over and it’s something that plays off of Hairo’s emotions. Cue a lot of blushing not only because of embarrassment but also actual literal heat rushing to his face.)

- Hairo was raised by a single parent (His family is never mentioned so I just made one up)

- Personal headcanon, but I feel like Toritsuka might occasionally pretend to not see spirits in order to avoid getting approached.

- Toritsuka’s backstory has been slightly altered and has a lot more angst to an already pretty sad backstory (it’s played for laughs, but imagine how that would’ve felt for him :( he realized he lost two people he loved in a matter of minutes. Also, he’s a child when this happens so that’s even sadder. I honestly wonder if they died somewhere in the house or he was just there and his guardians didn’t know, like??? How???)

It was all over town. Drake and JCole were coming to Lexington and of course Jack wouldn’t miss it. His two idols couldn’t pass through Kentucky without paying homage to the King of Kentucky. The buzz was crazy and there was already thousands of people on a Ticketmaster wait list.

Everyone in Jack’s crew looked forward to going. No question Jack would perform Churchill Downs with Drake and the afterparty would be legendary. Immediately his team went into preparation putting out promo. Jack started getting calls from his inner circle. “Of course you’re all coming” He said on his 20th call for the morning. Even his mother called. “Really mom?” He said incredulously.

As part of Jack’s team you flew into prep mode to support Neelam with anything she needed to coordinate the perfect experience with Drake and Cole’s teams. You got to FaceTime with both of them and realized Jack must have a nickname for you that he was telling everybody to call you by.

When Drake got on the phone with you he said the same thing as JCole “Sup lil Mama.” They endearingly said.

“Jackman.” You said seriously to Jack one morning, why’s everyone starting to call me “Lil Mama?”

“Cuz pups is Lil Yo and you Lil Mama.” He said as he pecked you on the forehead preparing to head to the studio for the day.

“Ah ok thanks for clearing that up.” You said smiling to yourself that he considered you, him, and the puppy such a unit. You didn’t live with him but you may as well. You had a lot of stuff at his place like clothes and a toothbrush. Technically you actually lived on campus.

Since the incident with you telling him about his female friends being two-faced with you Jack had a plan to fuck with them for fucking with you and you couldn’t wait.

You took “Lil Yo” a.k.a Lou Lou for a walk, went to the gym, and headed to art class. The bartender from the club Jack DJ’d at was in your class and always held a spot for you. “Hey girl” he said “You ready to present today?”

“So ready, I did a ton of research for this art history project. How about You?” You asked him.

“I’m not as prepared as you which is no surprise.” He replied with a sigh. “So has Mr. Lovin on Me proposed yet?”

You were surprised at the randomness of the question.

“Is there something you know that I don’t?” You said slightly irritated.

“Just think it’s been awhile. From what you’ve told me there’s no shortage of competition.” He said. Word in Jack’s circles was a proposal was coming.

Jack was going to pop the question and his female friends were saying in secret chat rooms that Jack could do better. Your friend was in that chat and you had no idea. He got chummy with some of them the night you ditched them to talk to him at the bar for so long. Finding out they had the same goals of hating you and Jack as a couple, they invited him into their inner circle of witches.

He wanted you badly since first year of college. The mission they gave him was to get things on you they could use and provoke a situation where you kiss, or even sleep with him and they get Jack back as an eligible bachelor. When Jack was single they believed one of them had a shot at landing him and they would all share the benefits in money, clothes, gifts, or trips, and have access to other rich men.

Jack was FaceTiming you which he often did when you were in class. He didn’t care about timing. Class hadn’t started yet so you picked up.

“Hey babe!” You said “what’s up?”

“Just wishing you good luck today.” He said but his smile soon faded.

“Hey What’s Poppin?” The bartender appeared and waved.

“Sup.” Jack said unceremoniously

You caught the change in Jack’s tone. “Babe are you good?” You asked concerned

“Why wouldn’t I be?” He said in a bit of a snarky way

“Ok either you’re suddenly bi-polar or I’m trippin.” You said about his complete switch up.

“He always sit next to you?” Jack asked

“Yeah of course, he saves me a seat most times cuz you know I’m always late.” You explained

“Oh of COURSE he saves a seat for you.” Jack repeated in a mocking way.

“Uh I gotta go hun. I love you, and don’t forget to call Drizzy this afternoon, we need everything to be perfect for the show.” You were a bit troubled by Jack’s change in behaviour all of a sudden and decided to bring him back to business.

After your presentation you were standing outside talking with your bartender friend and some other classmates who were congratulating you on a great presentation when a White Jeep rolled up with heavy bass thumping. Once people caught on who it was they swarmed the jeep screaming and whipped out their phones. Urban, Nemo, and Nicki waved to you as Jack jumped out with the puppy and came towards you. He had on jeans, a white tank top, and shades. A simple but deadly combination. He signed some autographs and took a few selfies on his way over to you and your friends.

“Baby.” He said handing you Lou Lou and planting a deep kiss on you making girls on campus wish they were you.

“Ummm hi” you said a bit embarrassed and a bit mesmerized as your lips parted. He always had that effect on you. “What a pleasant surprise.”

“Well I thought I’d come see my girl and take her shopping.” He said glancing nonchalantly at the bartender who stood there with his arms folded.

“So as I was saying Y/N I think your point about Van Gough was spot on.” The bartender continued completely ignoring Jack Harlow just appeared. “Your work is amazing. I can’t wait to see it at a gallery one day. With all Jack’s connections I’m sure that’ll happen for you.” Bartender guy said. “Jack what’s your favourite piece Y/N has ever painted?”

Jack knew what this guy was trying to do but fact of the matter was Jack couldn’t really answer him. He was so absorbed in his career he didn’t know what your best work was.

“I can’t pick a favourite.” Jack said “Y/N is so talented, she can get her own opportunities and I’ll support whatever she does.”

“Wow, can’t even get a little hook up? That’s kinda rough Y/N.” The bartender said getting on Jack’s last nerve.

You watched the exchange in silence. Finally understanding what was going on. You decided to defend Jack. “You know if I was touring the globe I don’t think I’d have enough time to know all of my work either. Jack doesn’t have to know what his favourite painting of mine is. He supports me 100%.” You said lovingly looking up at Jack.

“Yeah well you’re an artist. Why did some other artist do his album cover? Drake’s 5 year old drew his album cover. Do you know all the words to Jack’s songs? I bet you know your favourite Jack Harlow song but he can’t tell us what his favourite painting is of his “Lil Mama?”” He dug into your deepest insecurities as you confided in him that you thought Jack was not selfish but self-absorbed.

Everyone was staring and a crowd was gathering. Jack didn’t want to make a scene and get you in trouble at school.

“Let’s go baby before someone gets hurt.” Jack said looking at the guy and then at his friends in the Jeep, sending a clear message. Jack’s radar went up. Only inner circle knew he called you his “Lil Mama”.

“Yeah Jack I agree let’s go” You said and looked disappointedly at who you thought was a good friend as you walked away.

“Why did you come to my school?” You said snapping your seat belt angrily.

“I thought you were happy to see me.” Jack said sarcastically.

Some time ago, a man named Liu Kang created his own timeline, separate from the pain and trauma others had in their previous "lives". Those who were dead were returned to life, and those who were evil turned good. First... he started with:

"God damn it Kuai!" A loud Sub-Zero shouted from across the room. "When I find you I WILL take your damn hands!"

"Stuff it Bi Han! You can take your ice blades and shove them up your-"

"Oh for the love of all gods above just shut up!"

Both Kuai and Bi Han went silent. Liu Kang, their friend and teacher, was never one to get upset. Perhaps it was because he was now deciding the fate of his own universe.

"You've been up all night my friend." Geras stated, resting his hand on Liu's shoulder

"How can I sleep when everything from here on will be affected by my decisions."

While both parties went quiet, since Kuai and Bi Han couldn't hear what they said after Liu screamed at them, another head popped into the room.

"Tomas? What are you doing?"

Kuai was silent as Bi Han glared at the smaller ninja.

"You're late."

The small silver haired ninja only used his eyes to look around. He remained silent as to ignore Bi Han.

"Brother be kind to him. Lord Liu Kang is already angry enough with us. Don't add onto his problem."

Bi Han just scoffed, rolling his eyes as he crossed his arms and looked away from them.

"Good morning brothers. Has Lord Liu Kang came up with anything yet?"

The three ninjas, named Bi Han, Kuai Liang, and Tomas Vrbada, were Liu Kangs... "security". He would send them on missions whenever he needed, purely to check up on certain realms and their inhabitants.

"No word. All we heard was-"

"Being yelled at by Lord Liu Kang? I heard it from over there." He pointed behind him at the other building just a few steps away from where they were. "I take it he's not happy with something?"

"He is Earthrealms protector for a reason." Kuai answered

Tomas looked to his other brother Bi Han, who remained silent and stared at their lord. Tomas could never understand why Bi Han was so arrogant all the time.

"I'm sure it's nothing. Perhaps it's in our best interest if we don't bother him."

"I agree brother. I'll take Bi Han to his room since he's being insufferable once more." Kuai poked at his brother

All Bi Han could do was stare as his almost lookalike copy of himself. Perhaps Kuai was his polar opposite, the contrast yet complimentary side Bi Han didn't have.

"I'll remain here in any case Lord Liu Kang calls for us."

"Great idea brother."

The world went quiet as Bi Han and Kuai Liang walked towards one of the buildings where all of Liu Kang's students would live and sleep in. Tomas was one of those students. While Tomas decided to remain hidden under the shade of trees to watch and not be caught, Liu Kang and Geras were having their own problems.

"This is difficult my friend. What shall I do? I must decide what to do with Sindel and her daughters."

"Perhaps we change their father. That man, what was his name? Oh Jerrod. He would be a good father instead of Quan Chi."

Liu nodded to his friend. Geras was the wisest man he knew and was proud he was watching the Hourglass for him.

"A wise decisions Geras. Perhaps I will be remaking these realms quicker than I thought. Maybe-"

Liu's sentence was cut short as a ray of light came across the sky, almost like a shooting star that was passing over. The light was bright, but it seemed to be never ending, as if the universe didn't want it to end.

"Never thought I'd create a shooting star Geras. It's beautiful to see myself."

"Maybe it's fate telling you that you've made the right choice."

Liu only nodded, noting how the star was leaving a gentle trail of light behind it, almost like calligraphy on paper. But this star, there was something about it Liu couldn't place. Why was it still going? A shooting star never lasts more than mere seconds, turning back into the sky as if it was never there.

"Geras? A star, does it ever decide to change?"

"What do you mean?"

"This star... it seems so different from all the others I've made, as if it wasn't mine I created. Yet, here it is so bright and shining in the day as if it has a purpose."

"I'd like to believe that stars are just beings who've come before us, watching us. Maybe in our time, it's still the same."

Liu nodded, thinking back to the papers scattered in front of him on his personal table. While he and Geras spoke... another issue was happening for poor Tomas.

"Oh for the elder gods sake it's so bright. Why does-"

The star above him was the brightest it's ever been, seeming to get closer to the Shirai Ryu.

"Well, it would be better if this was at night. Kind of reminds me of my mom and sister."

Tomas wasn't one to linger on the past too long, but this star brought back something in him. The star dropped from the sky, heading straight down instead of arching like it was before.

"Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit!" Tomas screeched as he ran for Kuai and Bi Han

Liu Kang and Geras looked up as the falling "star" was coming down onto their home base and with only a few seconds to spare.

"Geras! Make sure the Lin Kuei and everyone else is okay!"

Liu sprinted, not caring if his room was a mess. He had people to save. He was not going to let anything happen to his friends, the friends he just brought back and fixed their lives.

"Lord Liu Kang!" Tomas shouted as he caught up with his teacher

"Smoke?! Where's Scorpion and Sub Zero?!"

"They're inside! I was already outside when I saw the-"

The ground shook, sending both Liu and Tomas up into the air, both landing back on their feet after the shaking stopped.

"Stay behind me. It could be dangerous." Smoke spoke up, putting his mask on and swinging his karumbit into his hand

"I trust you Smoke."

Both Liu and Tomas walked carefully, looking for any damage that could lead to someone being hurt. Surprisingly, there was nothing. Nothing but a shine of something on the ground in the middle of the path, leaving both the buildings and pond untouched.

"What is it?" Liu asked as Smoke took a few steps toward from him

Tomas was careful, smoke bomb in hand in case he and Liu Kang needed to flee. Slowly, he stood over whatever the "star" was.

"Lord Liu Kang!" He called

Liu Kang ran, not minding the fact both Scorpion and Sub Zero weren't here in case they were outnumbered or got killed.

"That's... that's not possible. I didn't-"

Liu Kang stuttered at what was at his feet.

It was a human... a human who had fallen from the sky.

Liu Kang, not thinking twice and feeling his inner protector energy tell him to, he put a hand on the humans shoulder. He felt a faint pulse.

"They're alright but... we should check in case there are any other wounds."

They both flipped the person over, as if they were lightweight to them.

"Holy elder gods..."

It was what appeared to be a girl. Her face was covered with two golden like fabrics that crossed over her face and left only her mouth and nose visible. Her hair was almost white, just like the rest of her. Her mostly white clothes were splattered in what looked like golden liquid. All the scars of previous fights could be seen on her arms. The liquid itself was like...

"Is that... blood? No. Surely not. Blood is..."

Tomas was speechless. A human with gold blood? What human is like that? Tomas bled red, just like Liu Kang and his brothers.

"She's not well. We need to help heal her." Liu spoke as he picked up the girl and carried her in his arms to Geras

Tomas could only stare in curiosity as the girls limp body drip more of the golden liquid onto the stone grounds. Her body wore a white dress of some sorts, cut above her thighs in the front but longer in the back like a normal dress. The pure white was hard for Tomas to look at. It practically blinded him. The rips and tears over her arms and legs told him a lot. She went out fighting, and wasn't going to die easily.

"Lord Liu Kang! What is that?" Geras questioned as Liu Kang cleared his table and set the girl on it

Scorpion and Sub Zero joined them, the three ninjas ready to attack in case she woke up and decided to attack. Liu Kang set the girl on her back, her palms on the table next to her as if they were studying her.

"Not deadly cuts but it should be cleaned and managed. Who knows what this is causing her to bleed."

Liu Kang checked her as he rolled her onto her side. She seemed fine on her back, just stained in what felt like blood. Liu checked every spot, stopping at the hole on her middle back.

"Hm. I'm beginning to think that-"

It was cut short when the girls body jerked, bright white feathery wings popping out and resting on top of her limp, almost like she was. They were huge, almost as long as her body themselves.

"What in the world?" Geras spoke

"So she's not a demon or vampire like being. She's not from Nether Realm, that much I can see. Not from Outworld either. No connections... nothing to tell us what she is."

Liu was stumped. This girl just showed up from the sky and gave this poor man a headache since Liu didn't know her.

"Was she from..."

"No. There's no trace of her on anything else. It's just like she came from nowhere."

Liu stayed silent as his three ninjas stood in silence behind him. He felt their eyes on him. There was no chance she would survive out there if she didn't exist before.

"Surely she can make a good Lin Kuei member right?" Tomas asked half curiously

"Maybe... we'll leave her here since there's no place to put her for now and I can study what she is."

"But Lord Liu Kang I must insist-"

Liu only stared at Bi Han, silencing his complaints as he frowned. Liu Kang hardly frowned, especially to any of his friends.

"It's in our best interest to align our interests with her, when she eventually wakes up." Kuai Liang answered looking between both Tomas and Liu Kang "If she's an ally, I'm sure she'll be a very good warrior for us."

"You are both stupid. What if she's with Outworld? What if she's from Neatherrealm? How sure are you she's not dangerous Liu Kang?"

"A fair observation Sub Zero, one I had not fully thought of. You are right to call out my miscalculation."

i feel bad for peter sometimes because he has a non-functioning gaydar and thats led to so many people assuming he's homophobic, but also i wonder if peter ever even really considered that people could be gay... like he's aware gay people exist but like. he was raised in such a hetero environment and masked his own bi-ness so hard that like. he failed to even remember people could be gay/queer. am i making sense i feel crazy for saying it but like did peter even remember gayness outside of his (1) experience with harry and he backed off and was like "wow that was a crazy experience i bet no one has ever had that before. anyway going to go lie down forever now"

it's actually really interesting that you bring this up!! because i was thinking about wade and peter's differing worldviews the other day (as usual) and how they're always, always at polar opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to how they perceive things

peter kind of always assumes he's alone in his experiences. that he's weird. he's a freak. there's nobody out there experiencing the same thing he is. he is totally alone. he is the only one having these thoughts, and everyone else must be normal and so he has to try to be normal.

and while peter assumes he's the weird one - wade is in the opposite camp. he projects all over everyone. he likes to think people are like him, they're just hiding it. and that's what makes him latch onto certain people.

it's why wade's gaydar is so hyper-active. he's so, so eager to project his own experiences onto other people.

and sometimes, it misfires. again. because he's projecting.

we're going to get into all the issues that come with wade projecting all over peter, but tl;dr, wade sniffs out people who are like him. while peter - peter always believes he's alone, and there's no one like him. thinks nobody'll understand. not even the people closest to him.

The Gaylor Issue: An Attempt at Nuance from a Very Tired Queer

I feel like the Gaylor issue is so divisive and polarizing in the Swiftie fandom. I want to make space for nuance, acceptance, and a more relaxed conversation. And I want to make space for fans who don’t fit on either extreme end of the issue.

On one side, you have diehard Gaylors who insist that Taylor is OBVIOUSLY gay and that all her “boyfriends,” including Joe, have been beards. See also: Kaylor, Swiftgron, etc.

On the other side, you have the people who insist that Gaylors are delusional, her relationship with Joe is real, and Taylor is nothing more than an ally to the LGBTQ community. Side note: I really dislike the term “hetlor” because a) it feels mean and gross when said in a demeaning way, and b) believing she’s straight is the default so I feel like giving them their own term is in the realm of “straight pride.”

Sprinkled between these camps are the people who say stuff like, “It’s weird and gross to speculate about real people’s sexuality. Taylor is a private person and it isn’t our place to talk about her love life.” Or, “Speculating about people’s queerness is bad because it forces people out of the closet before they’re ready.” Which is very kind.

I feel like I don’t fit into either of these three groups.

Saying “Taylor’s relationship with Joe is fake” feels really dismissive of bisexuality. Bi people are the biggest segment of the LGBTQ community and somehow it seems like people forget they exist because they float in that middle ground. When we view the world through binaries, bi people seem like they’re full of contradictions. But, like all people, bi people just contain multitudes.

Saying Taylor is straight seems downright ridiculous, at least to me. The most obvious, “no heterosexual explanation for this” pieces of evidence are: the song Paris, the lyric “I swear you could hear a hairpin drop,” the 13 in northern Michigan in the Lavender Haze music video, and the idea that gay pride “makes me ME.” Here are some things I believe to be true: 1) If Taylor Swift were straight, she’d be too good of an ally to queerbait, and 2) Taylor Swift is too smart/well-read to make queer references accidentally.

The thing about the “don’t speculate about her personal life” argument is that speculating about Taylor Swift’s personal life pays her bills. Yes, she’s making and selling art. But she has chosen a life in the spotlight. She has consciously decided to sell her [personhood, brand, name, soul, whatever you want to call it]. She has chosen NOT to “take the money and her dignity and get the hell out.” She COULD choose the rose garden over Madison Square. But every day, she chooses not to. On the one hand, this “don’t speculate” argument is very noble. But there’s some part of me that wonders if the folks in this camp see themselves as potential future friends of Taylor and think that being speculative ruins their chances at that, ruins their chances of attending a secret session, etc. It’s sweet and kind AND it feels a little “pick me.” Here are some things I believe to be true: 1) If Taylor Swift were straight, she wouldn’t be offended that people think she is queer. 2) If Taylor Swift is queer, she’s not offended that people think she is queer.

And then there’s this weird, in-between camp that I fall into. Personally, I think Taylor Swift is a queer woman who is currently in a legitimate, long term relationship with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Do I think that she had relations of some kind with Karlie Kloss? Yeah, probably! Do I think that she is afraid to come out for fear of outing past lovers? Yeah, probably! Do I think she is afraid to come out for fear of alienating part of her fanbase? Yeah, probably! Do I think she is afraid to come out because she feels like her current relationship with a man will “delegitimize” her queerness? Definitely.

I want a label for people who have this opinion, because I see SO much hatred toward “Gaylors” from “Hetlors” and vice versa. I feel like I have a nuanced, reasonable, rational take on the situation. And I want to be able to communicate this nuanced take with a label.
