The first person Eddie comes out to is Hopper.

I am really looking forward to the conversation Mike and El will have during or post-breakup and when Mike explains to her the feelings he has for Will, because I feel like this will be the only indicator we get of Mike's sexuality. He's probably not going to come out with it that he's gay or bi, but I think we should be able to surmise what his sexuality is based on the reasoning he gives El for why he can't be with her.

I feel like the biggest indicator we'll get is whether Mike tells El they can't work together because she is a girl or because he realizes that they're no longer compatible now that they're older. Like, he could say, "I do love you, but I think I've been mistaking the love I have for you for romance instead of friendship," or he could say, "I really *did* love you, but now that we're older, I think we work better as friends." I feel like it will really hinge on whether he admits to having loved El or not.

Low key, I think it's also very possible that Mike will remain unlabeled and that all we'll know from him is that he realizes he's been in love with Will for a long time. I can high key see him saying, "I don't know what it means or when exactly it happened, but I love Will and I know I'm supposed to be with him."

guys i feel like as a collective we, as the byler nation, have just sort of universally accepted that because will is confirmed to be gay and in love with mike (crazy) and he has that whole lego-up-the-nose talk/hug scene with jonathon in season four that he realised he liked mike really early on in their friendship/has known and been processing for years. but hear me out- its season 2, the crazy together scene. mike brings up el and will doesn’t seem jealous or sad or anything like that of her and millipedes relationship, (i mean ofc he doesn’t seem too cheery bc i mean he HAD already been through a lot that night & just in the whole time period leading up to their talk in general) but also . what if will didn’t think he would have an issue with their relationship (bc he hadn’t yet realised he would be left behind so suddenly, etc.) only realising he liked mike the summer that el got back? —> and maybe even that his dad was right and he was gay.

(in his early stages this is what leads to such scenes as the “im.. not going to fall in love” one. like he believes that he can be in love but he will never be in a loving relationship with someone else- he can have crushes but he’s not going to “fall in love” with someone as such- or so he thinks.)

"Well, you already pulled them out of the ground, so, yeah," Wayne said.

"Hey, by the way, purely hypothetical question. . .how do you ask two people out at the same time?" Eddie asked.

"Well, I suppose it's not much different than asking one person out," he said. "Just gotta be honest and direct. Steve and Chrissy?"

Eddie scoffed and stuttered incoherently before sighing.

"Yeah."

"Good luck."

"Thanks!"

He silently thanked the mysterious force that led him to the decision and drove off.
