Eddie would LOVE the idea that he and El look alike. A prank idea ensues. He had to get her a wig because her hair hadn't grown back yet, but she agreed to the prank and put on Eddie's clothes, wearing his rings and sitting on his throne. Everyone filtered in for DnD that night while Eddie hid behind the chair. Eddie soon started talking, El's hand folded against her lips so it would like she was the one talking. No one noticed until Steve walked in to watch his boyfriend play.

"Hey, El," Steve said casually. "What are you doing on Eddie's throne?"

Everyone's head snapped to her, and they realized then that it was actually El. Eddie shrieked and jumped out from behind the throne.

"Steve! I was doing something! Gah!" Eddie yelled and proceeded to stomp his feet. "I was going to see how long it would take them to notice!"

"You were going to do the entire thing like that?" He asked.

"Yes!"

"Maybe you should have told me!"

Then they proceeded to fight in front of everyone, letting everyone know that they were, in fact, dating. Meanwhile, El was giggling on the throne and moving her arms around like Eddie.

el and nancy's experiences of girlhood being dichotomised in season one kills me. el looks at the pretty girl and the pretty pink bedroom and this life she's crafted that she parades in pictures and she craves it, so deeply, that she spends the whole season wearing nancy's old dress, this hyper-feminine pink thing, peter pan collars and frills. it sits on her so jarringly, resolutely at odds with her shaved head and death stare and face permanently stained with dirt and blood and tears, and mike's crumpled blue jacket doesn't match, doesn't fit, and she looks so small, but she wants to be the girl in the picture. she wants back the innocence that she never got to have, scrounges off the scraps of nancy's girlhood where she can find it, while nancy loses it at the exact same time. she loses her virginity and her childhood best friend and she ties her hair back and learns to shoot a gun and she learns, through the pain and violence, that her life as a small-town good girl behind a picket fence was lost with everything else that went that day, died with barb. she's a slut and a monster hunter and a woman at sixteen and now she's looking at the girl in the picture and craving her life too. she left her girlhood by the poolside, torn and bloodied and ripped fresh from her chest, and el picks it up, dusts it off, and wears it like armour.

saying this as a mileven btw, but if you're a mileven that dislikes byler solely because you are homophobic and a bigot and not because you simply just don’t like the pairing/characters together then I think you’re weird and I don’t like u!! I see this happening a lot with other milevens and I think it needs to be called out because it gives us a bad name and shouldn’t be an excuse or shield for homophobia!! :PP

a lot of the st cast members have said that some of the characters are gonna die, and that ‘we gotta kill some of them,’ and i feel like i should put my opinion out there before S5 comes out.

if youre killing characters just cause you ‘should,’ theres no point in writing it in. its only for the shock value of a character dying. its weak writing.

if youre gonna write a character death, it should make sense. i dont how else to say this but just look at my post about joyce and i think youll get what i mean.

the reason the duffers never let mike or el have a conversation with nancy is because she'd single-handedly end their relationship like i firmly believe one talk with nancy wheeler could fix both of them. either it's a 'we were taught a bad model of love from our parents and if you can't bring yourself to say i love you to the person you're supposed to be in love with then you might be dating them simply because it's easier and safer and you probably love someone else' or it's a 'if you need to have a perfect relationship in order to feel like you're normal you're probably using that relationship to avoid the pains of your trauma but staying in it will only hold you back from growing and healing and you don't need a boyfriend you need to figure out who you are and who you want to be because the ideal of girlhood you're chasing isn't real because girls aren't meant to be pictures we're meant to be people' and either way it would be over for them. we're witnessing strategic containment of nancy wheeler to love triangle drama because she'd change them in minutes.
