saw we talking about song inspiration?? how about invisible by duran duran (gale about mystra, since she calls him gale of waterdeep, like c'mon dude, dekarious is ain't that hard)

sdfhdsk i guess we are, I'll be honest idk why I've become the go-to for this but I am also not complaining because y'all are so freaking right??? With your choices????? Like holy shit this really is a Perfect Gale Dekarios Song™, like it's so clear that most of Gale's identity is wrapped up in being "Gale of Waterdeep" the great wizard, to the point that that's the only version of himself that he feels is worthwhile to anyone including himself. Any failure to live up to that image is a personal failure for him, and the real him is forced into the background because he doesn't seem to think that it will be appealing or worthy to anyone, least of all Mystra. God maybe I need to start a tumblr-curated Gale playlist. And/or a Bloodweave playlist...

We begin with the story in general, moving from the bloody wreck that first stepped off the Nautiloid to a more hopeful ending. Then follow nine specific takes on the Dark Urge. Chapter 1 - A story in which an overworked art student longs for a fictional character that they've devoted so much of their time to. Astarion realizes there's someone else watching him. And he can't wait to get acquainted with them.

Chapter 2 - The reader believes they are in a dream. It wouldn’t be the first time their fantasies conjured up such an obscure, yet somehow realistic scene. And so they’ve elected to treat the experience with as much realism as one would observe in a dream; little to none.

Chapter 3 - As an outsider to most of everyone’s problems, you find your place by helping in whatever way you can. Even if that may be at the expense of your own comfort, but at least it’s been fun so far.

Chapter 4 - A party is being held at the camp in the heroes’ honor, which greets you with a lively crowd that you’ll hopefully meet again soon. And with a gathering this large, you’re bound to garner attention. But with a constitution as poor as yours from the night before, a round of drinks is the last thing you want.
