I guess Baeloth raising Lu as his apprentice would be pretty normal since the Black Pits are like... his business. fucked up it is but a legitimate business and if he/his family (in merchant class terms... so idk his clan) had custody of this kid, it's expected to raise her to be able to run the business herself

a reason I didn't like Haer'Dalis is he was weird with Hexxat but like... the writers know she's a lesbian, he doesn't... they wrote the characters and on top of people harassing her for being a vampire, you get men flirting with her. it didn't come from the ether but written as they chose
