guys please hear me out on this..

originally sore-thumb marcia who became all popular after being taken under bev’s wing!!

sure, she’s always been ‘popular’ but that’s because she grew up being best friends with bob so bob has never left her out. but she’s the type of popular kid that everyone is like “how is she popular??”

she’s always been a know it all and sort of nerdy. she corrects people a lot and it annoys her when people don’t use proper grammar.

bev and marcia were in the same friend group but they didn’t really get super close until freshman year when marcia decided she wanted to impress trip. she went to cherry first but cherry said to “just be yourself” and obviously that’s great advice, but marcia wanted more. so she went to bev, the coolest girl she knew.

bev helped her a ton. but she didn’t change marcia. she told marcia that she should never change herself for anyone, but it doesn’t hurt to control some things.

like, she didn’t need to correct everyone all the time. and sure, it was hard at first, but marcia became much more well liked. but sometimes she couldn’t hold it back. especially with dallas who was always saying incorrect stuff.

marcia kept going to bev for advice, which ended up strengthening their friendship. and maybe that’s why marcia quickly follows after bev in jft against cherry.

Whatever you do, don't think about Beverly Jitney-Bush who is the third girl in the soc trio, because there is always a duo in a trio, and she met Marcia and Cherry too late to be a part of it. Don’t think about Bev who knows that her place in the group is dependent on her relationship with Brill because she isn’t THAT close with the girls and as much as they all love her, none of the boys would ever take her side over Brill’s, bro code, is what they call it. She’s not really worried, because she knows Brill and her are getting married someday, she would just like to have something like that for herself. Don’t think about how she longs for sleepovers and doing each other's makeups and hair and talking about boys with the other girls, but ends up spending most of her time with Paul, Bob and the rest of the boys. It’s not like Cherry and Marcia are trying to exclude her, they all hangout and gossip and all that, it’s just glaringly obvious that Bev doesn’t quite fit in the tight-knit sister-like bond the two of them share. And there’s always something inside of her that feels like she’s intruding when the three of them hangout on their own. Don’t think about how when Bob dies she is grief-ridden and out for blood and she needs a culprit, someone to blame, someone to make pay for what’s happened and she got mean and ruthless and so, so angry. Don’t think about how all the resentment she didn’t know she had been harboring for Cherry finally bubbles over because it’s her fault, isn’t it? If she hadn’t talked to that greaser kid, Bob wouldn’t have been so angry and seeking revenge and he would still be here. Don’t think about how a small, terrible part of her hopes that maybe, if Cherry is out of the picture, her and Marcia will have a chance to become the sister-like power duo instead.

THE OUTSIDERS CHOREOGRAPHY ANALYSIS

So I've noticed, when watching the outsiders, that the greasers and socs dance very differently, and I wanna talk about that!!!

So, starting with the greasers. They dance solo a lot of the time, but they're still dancing together. They're having fun. And when they do do a duo dance (like Two-Bit and Ace in FATDI), they do it because they want to. They do it because they love dancing together and having fun. They dance freely and wildly and don't care about other people's opinions.

The socs, on the other hand, almost always dance together. It's almost always Marcia and Trip, Cherry and Bob, and Bev and Brill. They don't dance as freely. Their movements are more graceful and "perfect." They dance like how it's expected of them because if they don't, they can't be a part of the social circle. Then, they're not accepted. They're dependent on one another for acceptance. They rely on each other to fit in. They're afraid to dance on their own because what if they do it wrong? What if they don't fit the norm? What if they dare to be different?

Anyways, I could see those worlds colliding with marcia and two-bit. Him teaching her to be more free. To have fun to the max. They can just be themselves.

super very random post about a few hcs i have for the socs !!

MARCIA :

- she does ballet and is actually really good !!

- she writes letters to people but never sends them just to soothe herself

- the biggest beatles fan to ever exist ever

- #1 paul holden hater

BEV :

- she cut her bob herself and she used to have very long hair

- literally never not at brill’s house i fear

- she (contrary to popular belief) actually does enjoy fighting

- her dream is to move to the beach and live on a beach house with brill

CHERRY :

- nancy sinatara = life

- she’s a flyer on the cheer team

- even when she’s with chet she accidentally calls him bob sometimes because unfortunately she sees bob in literally everything (especially chet’s alcoholism)

- she still has bob’s letterman jacket even years after he died

CHET :

- chocolate. he is obsessed with chocolate, if there is a chocolate flavor and it’s available it will be chosen

- he’s constantly covered in dog hair due to his dad’s k-9s (taken inspo from @sky4cherry again)

- youngest in his family 100% (and of the boys)

- bev is literally his big sister and it’s definitely totally by blood 100%

BRILL :

- only one of the guys that can truly handle his liquor

- he doesn’t mind jumping people, but prefers a ‘fair fight’

- the oldest child of his family and is actually the best big brother to grace the earth

- has had a crush on bev since middle school and even asked her to their middle school dance

BOB :

- paul is literally his actual brother wdym🤨

- once introduced marcia as his sister in front of the whole group + her and had never been more embarrassed

- he had a sickeningly huge crush on cherry before they got together

- another inspo he wears lilac because cherry one time told him he looked really good in it and now it’s suddenly his favorite color

TRIP :

- lives with his grandma and grandpa + melvin

- the best fighter in the group

- cherry and trip best friends agenda

- martrip goes downhill when he throws the first punch at two-bit in justice for tulsa (look at marley’s post about this it is SICK in the best way)

PAUL :

- sees himself in bob a LOT

- the one who taught the boys to fight

- was NOT okay when him and darry had their falling out. he became SOOO mean

- has referred to bev and marcia as “brill’s broad” and “trip’s broad” before and received two punches from two VERY angry boyfriends

Ok show thoughts

Absolutely wonderful. First time seeing the entire obc all together! The only cover was Henry on for Sean but all the principles were on today. I haven’t seen Brody since July and I forgot how much I truly love his voice! I love seeing and hearing the differences in how each actor plays the characters, the little differences between his and Josh’s Ponyboys are so interesting to me.

Being in the front row was insane. Daryl Tofa absolutely smothered me in gravel during hoods turned heroes 😭 it was wonderful though. I loved getting to hear the little side convos that the characters have that you can only rly hear up close. And seeing everyone’s facial expressions, god- special shout out to SarahGrace and Brody, their acting was just 10/10 today. SG looked so distraught and torn during justice for Tulsa and Brody’s face after he realized Johnny killed Bob… just insane. They’re outstanding. Jason was so giggly during grease got a hold, it was so cute. And ik I mentioned it last time, but Brent getting emotional at the end of the show always does it for me, truly a star.

Stage door, not a ton of people came out, Melody, Brent, kwp, and Daryl did, and also Trevor!! Even though he was in the booth today he came to sd and I got to meet him for the first time. He’s such a sweetheart. I took pics w everyone except Trevor bc he had some family/friends waiting for him but we had a super nice convo about how all the actors portray the characters in their own unique way and we both gushed over Josh Strobl lmao. He told me that I have to see Josh’s Johnny and I said that I heard Josh’s Johnny and his Ponyboy was a duo to see and he got all bashful it was so sweet. He was so wonderful, as was everyone else. I ran into kwp again on my way home and thanked him again and he said thank you for coming. I don’t blame everyone else for not coming out whatsoever bc it is getting very cold out in New York! I also met some sweet girls at the show from Canada seeing the show for the first time!! Overall it was a great day and the show was wonderful as always. I’ll maybe post sd pics later once I put something to cover my face!

outsiders characters as things my campers have done from a 3 year camp counselor

disclaimer: i work primarily with early elementary ages kids and these are just meant to be silly i love all of these kids they are amazing tiny humans they are just also very silly sometimes

ponyboy: ask me everyday to look at my phone so that she could look at my backgrounds and ask me questions about every person in a picture

johnny: consistently beat the crap out of me at cards (he’s 8 and i was 17)

soda: had his counselor waterfall syrup straight from the bottle into his mouth when he won a game in celebration

steve: ran around with his backpack on the front, tripping and falling on top of the backpack, causing the bug spray in his backpack to explode (i had to dump at least 3 cups of bug spray out of his backpack)

two-bit: has the soundtrack to every descendants movie memorized and rapped it for me every day

dally: punch a kid in the balls in front of me for kicking over the stick house he made for rolly pollies and then immediately denying it

darry: insisted on carrying my two backpacks as well as his own and when i asked him if i could help him when he got tired carrying them up the hill, replied with “IM A REAL MAN AND A REAL MAN CARRIES A LADIES BAGS”

ace: ran an illegal gymnastics ring, teaching other kids gymnastics in the farthest corners of playing areas so as to not get caught.

cherry: inexplicably got covered in chocolate, cheeto dust, and glitter, we still have no idea where the glitter came from

marcia: sat me down every day during playground time, braided my hair, and would beef with me if i had to take it out at any point in the day

bev: got the entire camp organized to hold a wedding for two counselors (this has happened 3 years in a row)

bob: cried (loudly) for two hours straight and then stopped on a dime and just said “i’m done now”

chet: when his two friends suggested that they get out of the pool so they had time to get dressed, gave a very confused look before mumbling to himself “i don’t even know if i have a dress”

brill: sneezed in my hair. (he has the vibe of an allergy king)

trip: stood no more than a foot away from me at all i times. i would take a step back, he would take a step forward. this went on for a full month.

paul: bit me.
