#Okay to put it into better words:#Veritas having once being a prince wanted to give everyone the prosperity of knowledge and became a civil god in the pursuit of it.#Sadly this backfires in people using that knowledge for their own greed and creating civil wars within it as well as unleashing far more#Destruction upon the land. And the other gods didn't help Veritas in stopping that bc see that's what happens when people overshare info!!#So the aftermath is just pure chaos plus banishment from being a civil god and thrown as this god of war and plague.#800 years passes and he is seen to just still be doing the same things but I a simple term. Teaching people to read and count.#Often times taking up mission and doing research on new pathogens to help cure the sick that can't afford and somehow during a reading#Lecture he gets ascended back to godhood and everyone is like ??? And even he is like ???#Well he doesn't care much about it and just continues to do what he's always done. Except that once in a while he has to take a detour#Mission to deal with ghosts and other malignant spirits. And upon one of those recurrences he finds himself aquaintanced with#The infamous Ghost King Aventurine. Who is mostly feared in heaven due to having beaten the strongest and wisest at their own games. Even#When the odds where fully against him.#As for Aventurine.#His life was harsh but as the prince had given a lot to the people#Not just education but also free them of diseases and sickness. One of which had struck his sister. He liked the prince and wanted to#Follow in giving and protecting the prosperity of the former kingdom. But the good things did not last and his family was struck in between#The many wars that took place. No matter how much refuge Kakavasha and his sister sought no place was ever#Safe enough for them.#He watched the entire world go up in flames yet somehow he could hate the prince-god for it. But rather the people who had started to#Create weapons in his name. The rest of his years he spent it as a warrior slave and then when death reached him he couldn't even go to#The afterlife since he still held so much vigor and wanted revenge to all the people who had turned his land into ashes and his family#Into bones. That is why he became a mourning ghost.#(I didn't want the kakavasha story to be so centered on ratio like it is in tgcf. what's an example of a loving relationship between two female characters (platonic, romantic, familial, whatever) that's a central part of a big tv or movie franchise that's not targeted more toward female audiences?
#i feel like part of the dislike of hotd is that its central thing is 'these women loved each other so much and the world tore them apart.#isn't that sad?'#and i think some viewers genuinely don't know how to empathize with that enough to think it's worth basing a story around#whereas two women hating each other and being enemies would be seen as way more credible#so it got me trying to think of media that's mainstream (rather than just ~for female audiences~)#that has an important relationship between female characters right at the center#is there one??????#dollsome's deep thoughts

i spend a lot of time thinking about the empty space between jim and bones at spock's funeral
#the empty space is spock. obviously.#with hindsight it's hard to say if the distance jim and bones have put between themselves is more or less tragic#knowing that spock is there in both ways: physically in his casket and spiritually in bones himself. but human perception of death only#accounts for the physical. the idea of a soul being unequivocally present in that moment is one that neither of them really believes in#(jim and bones are both written at least vaguely christian. god and the eternal soul are certainly in their belief systems but neither#of them are deeply religious within canon especially when compared to other characters such as the bajorans in tng/ds9)#have they parted because spock should be there in the center despite how often bones and spock would make jim their fulcrum#or have they parted because passing that threshold is too painful without one of them there. a missing limb with phantom pangs.#they could both survive without spock but i always wonder to what degree; 'how do you feel' 'i feel young'#and a few years later it's spock and bones who must survive without jim#never knowing that he hadn't died but continued on in the nexus until it's too late#and we never know if bones ever learns that jim survived and later dies doing what he always does: serving the greater good#but we do know that spock outlives them both. he survives without either of them for so long. he never marries.#and then he sends himself on a suicide mission -- to serve the greater good.#ultimately to end up in another universe where he sees the two of them again: young and healthy and so full of life#and once again he dies before either of them.#tos#the wrath of khan#mcspirk#triumvirate#triposting

#artists on tumblr#art#illustration#digital art#digital drawing#dnd#dungeons and dragons#homebrew#original art#my art#my ocs#Setting: Heim#I drew these a couple of years ago now i think#but since i'm drawing stuff for this setting again i'm reuploading with updated information cause the last one is outdated#I will say right off the bat however#If you compare my designs to already existing IPs i will block you on sight#the last time i posted these they got compared to a piece of media i really dislike#and that comment alone made me fall out of love with this setting for almost two years#so please. do not. it's rude and unnecessary#These are the artefacts my setting and its story is largely centered around#Tethry is credited with creating them (Even though he didn't)#They were gifted by Tethry to each of the largest cities in the world to serve as power generators supplying arcane power to the whole city#immediately pushing the four sister cities into prosperity and progress. leaving literally everyone else in the dust#which caused some understandable tension between countries that already had a bit of a strained relationship to begin with#There is SO MUCH to these little trinkets and their link to Tethry and how finding them essentially fucked up his whole entire life#You'd think becoming the world's most renowned arcanist would be the best thing that ever happened to an aspiring caster#but to some poor dude just trying to study arcane language. stumbling across the magical equivalent of the demon core#was very much not on his wishlist#especially not dealing with the consequences of trying to make sure no one actually realises how nasty they have the potential to be#which. someone inevitably does

allow me to provide Over Explanation for this supposedly simple yes/no answer. technically, yes! however
the au is structured into four main chunks - Acts, if you will. we've got Act One, which is the story i've shared bits and pieces of with you all. it's the main body of the au, the "in the dark" part. the Only romantic relationship progression / development (beyond little blink-and-you'll-miss-it hints) is FranklyDear.
Act Two begins with Sally waking up, and there's a whole... thing for that, where everything falls apart in an entirely new and way more sad way! Act Three and Four are the "aftermath" of the au - in a sense.
like - if i were to write a fic, the main one would be Act One + (maybe) Two, though that one might need it's own - shorter - fic. then Act Four would be the immediate squeakual. Act Three could be just an extra fun addition, cause it wouldn't be strictly necessary or overtly Vital due to Act Four's needs. it's more of a... uh... ~Behind the Scenes~ thing.
ALL THIS TO SAY! Popstar would become a thing either in Act Two or Act Three, but Laughingstock would solidify well into Act Four.

#riv rambles#I know some people have a set one but#I really do think depending on the selfship and the setting#the vision and the archon/message of said vision#would vary#like for example with alhaitham it’s electro because#I interpret electro vision wielders to be people of a specific ambition or goal#raiden and eternity or yae and freeing ei or dori and mora or kujo sara and being loyal to the shogun or cyno and upholding justice#there’s a hyper specific goal that all electro vision wielders are very centered and focused around that they are canonically vry ambitious#about achieving/maintaining#with alhaitham my selfship insert is very ambitious and dedicated to integration of desert children to the akademiya and just better#integration of the desert folks in the political system in general in sumeru#and with Wriothesley and Kinich it would be pyro because#I interpret pyro vision wielders to have one specific passion that they are very attached to#it’s not more so an ambition but more so a constant that they hold very dear and are passionate about#amber with the knights and klee with her explosives and lyney with magic and xiangling with cooking and yoimiya w fireworks + yanfei w law#bennett with adventuring and Hu Tao with business and xinyan with music and again the list goes on#anyway I think in the case of my selfship with wrio my insert is rather passionate about prison reform and in my selfship with Kinich it#centers around being passionate about the nation itself and natlan’s wellbeing/safety in an ongoing war with the abyss#and with ayato its cryo bc i think cryo vision wielders are people who have two sides of themselves constantly at battle#diona hates alcohol but makes fantastic drinks. kaeya conflicted with loyalty to his ancestry vs his nation atm. Eula conflicted with her#clan identity vs being a knight. Ayaka conflicted with duty vs living life as she pleases. shenhe and ganyu struggle between the adeptal#and human worlds since they’re involved with both#qiqi is alive but dead. freminet is loyal to the house of the hearth but wishes to also be free. and wrio ofc is in some ways a hero and#in some ways a criminal and those conflicting natures of his actions are at odds with each other very complexly so#ANYWAY#ofc again the list goes on but#for ayato I would consider my insert a cryo wielder because I think that being an arranged marriage#there’s conflict of duty vs personal choice and freedom but also not wanting to hold affection for him at first vs developing it anyway#labeling myself to one vision element for my insert all across the board I suppose leaves no room for the nuances of visions themselves

#new scotland yard#point of interest#lwt#1972#classic tv#tony wharmby#don houghton#john woodvine#john carlisle#bryan marshall#barry warren#claire warren#shirley cain#brian rawlinson#norman jones#basil henson#mel martin#nicholas young#recently trawling a certain You based Tube‚ i stumbled across a user who has uploaded great swathes of old telly‚ to my delight. a lot of#it I've already seen or even own‚ but finding NSY was huge: I've wanted to watch this for a while but the discs are frustratingly hard to#come by at a reasonable price since Network (rip in our hearts forever) went under. so i guess this is my viewing for the near future‚#before a copyright strike inevitably gets them pulled (and i don't think it's every episode that's available either). the series starts#promisingly‚ eschewing a safe and steady introduction for an altogether more challenging issue based ep; a man has died during a scuffle#between socialist protesters and rightwing counter protesters‚ apparently killed by a police officer. our leads must investigate whilst#balancing the difficult tightrope of public opinion‚ avoiding either a whitewash or an unjust persecution. it's heavy‚ polemical stuff but#the script works hard to maintain balance and present nuance‚ with idealists and extremists on either side (and Woodvine's senior copper#stubbornly sticking his feet in the center). it's still copaganda of course‚ but intelligently done nonetheless#we don't learn a great deal about our two leads at this point‚ but their relationship certainly seems spiky (Carlisle is given to making#leaps of deduction and announcing moral absolutes where Woodvine is almost frustratingly impartial to the extreme). plus nice to see#familiar faces like Marshall‚ Jones and Warren among the supporting cast. a very promising opener
