#kirby gijinka#marx kirby#I love feeling more comfortable designing characters with long hair now#before I think a lot of my characters had short hair for my own wish fulfillment and projection of my gender ideals#now that I’ve had short hair for so long I’m a lot more comfortable with playing around with hair length in character designs#I really enjoy putting up hair in a tight updo as a show of like. character restriction or self control#with marx in particular I think pre-nova it’s a pretty clean updo with few stray strands of hair#then immediately after receiving nova’s power he gets to let loose for the first time and all the hair fans out a lot more#and for star allies he has a much healthier balance between the two with more flyaway strands#but then the more power of nova he uses the more his hair is disheveled and falls out of the jester cap#anyways idk#the state of hair is such a fascinating thing in characters because it’s one of the easiest things to change about a character I think#while still being recognizable as the character that is#a lot of the design for my pink oc had a similar idea where they have their hair pinned tightly and then hair falls loose as they let loose

#mine.art#lssmp#leowook#clownpierce#princezam#my (early) s2 designs for leowook and zam are a bit different from their later ones (though zams is the only visible one)#basically the paper thing on leo is a talisman that allows him to both move and keep his mannequin vessel between respawns#early s2 he just used tape to keep it on but it kept falling off so he eventually started using a circlet#zam changes basically every season lol#mainly his hair length; crown location; and the hope in his eyes#his hair grows longer as the darkness in his soul increases lol#crown location just depends on his status position#in s2 it looks like a regular crown except way higher than it should be#at first i was gonna give zam lipstick as well since leos regular design doesnt have lipstick either#but decided no the only lipstick zam will ever wear is of the blood of the ppl he bites#...i forgor zam has sharp teeth whoops
