And if I stop maintaining a active hold on my emotions, I start to echo all the negative emotions somebody feels back @ them in my voice & body language.

so like. the best way I know right now to cheer somebody up is to be understanding but to suppress the empathetic response and be relentlessly cheerful and try and infect them with that or at least use that cheer to distract them into doing something that is engaging.

Sanji is definitely flirtatious, but he genuinely respects and cares for women beyond just their looks. That's his principle in life that he'd learned from zeff. Let's discuss :

Does sanji only see women as sex objects?

No. If Sanji only saw women as sex objects, he wouldnt be so sensitive to their behavior and struggles. he would not care for the real person they are underneath (pudding in wci), their discomfort (connis in skypiea), their helplessness (Viola in dressrosa, Robin in water 7), their obligations (tashigi fighting vergo in punk hazard) etc.

Another point is that, sanji's admiration for women lies in what he can do for them instead of what they can do for him. This is an important point because men who objectify women, usually treat them as disposable things - only valuing/being nice to them when they can get sex/favors from women and discard them when the need is met/rejection, there's always an underlying conditional dimension to it. Sanji is not like that. Sanji's joy lies in serving, protecting and admiring women. He remains loyal, kind, selfless, and devoted, even when he gets nothing in return, even when he is hurt by women sometimes (he cared for and even uplifted pudding even when he came to know abt her intentions and opinions abt him). His kindness goes beyond attraction; it’s a fundamental part of who he is.

Does sanji treat women as his equals?

HELL No. But he's still a feminist, because he treats women BETTER. The world and societal structure favors men more than us, and we don't always have the freedom or agency over our life and circumstances. Sanji understands that and so he treats women BETTER than how he treats men. He gives women more grace, more consideration and more understanding than he would ever give to any men. I guess he's more of a woman supremacist than a feminist but yeah.

Does he only care for women's physical appearance?

No, if he did then he wouldn't be kind to the mermaid grandma kokoro im enies lobby. rant of a very tired aven fan because. honestly i should know better than expect more from this fandom but😭

i want to make it very clear that i dont want to woobify aventurine ever like . that man is fucked up but he is not inherently a bad person who deserves the kind of fate he has.

i've seen people say that aventurine was just as much of an ass as sunday which. aventurine was doing his job and wears a MASK of a manipulative ass to mimic the men(and the gender is important here) who have hurt/exploited him in the past (sunday does actually become one of them). it genuinely is maddening to see people say that aventurine deserves to be treated the way he was or brushing off any kind of sympathy for aven as woobifying like . i feel like in an attempt to give him more agency (which i love and support by the way. one of my pet peeves IS people stripping away that agency in his actions), sometimes it goes far into the other point of the spectrum? like theres no sense of balance, he is either evil slimy corp guy or innocent victim who needs rescuing (both being outcomes that he actually predicts and expects!!!! ARGH)

Sappy appreciation post for local punk shows

Even though I have to be acutely aware of my surroundings as to not get hurt, when I’m at local punk shows I feel more safe and more accepted than anywhere else in the world. When you’re at a big stadium concert, everyone’s there for different reasons. Some people really love the artist, some people are just going bc they have nothing better to do. There’s always someone that’s singing too loud, or talking too much, or getting way too into your personal space. But punk shows are different. Everyone is there for the love of the game, for the energy. Friendly violence is encouraged, everyone knows what the deal is. And no one cares how you’re dancing, because everyone looks kinda ridiculous. No one is weird when everyone’s a weirdo. There’s a sense of camaraderie that I don’t think you can find anywhere else. There’s no separation between the band and crowd most of the time, ppl are encouraged to sing into the mic. It’s really like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

The scene as a whole, but my local scene especially, is full of trans people. I know as a trans person that I don’t have to be afraid when I’m in the bathroom during a show bc, chances are, the person next to me is also of the transgender variety. There’s a number of transgender women in the scene who sing in deep screaming voices, and they’re still respected as women no questions asked. Punks accept you as you are.

Going into shows, I expect that I’ll probably get hit when I’m near the pit. And often times I do. But when people who are moshing are able to see me, a physically disabled person with my walker, they almost always make a concerted effort to avoid ramming into me. I’ve had a number of complete strangers step in front of me to shield me from people ramming into me, complete strangers protecting me so that I could enjoy the show.

I’m not saying that punk shows are always perfectly harmonious, careless people and people with bad intentions are definitely out there. But I’ve found that the social barriers that so often rule our lives are completely torn down at shows. I love this scene and I feel lucky to be a part of it.

I dunno about controversial--I'm never actively trying to be a shit-starter, I just. My honest take is twofold. One, people are definitely being steered by racism. I mean, I see that just in the way Jasmin is constantly under fire no matter what she does or says. This is a biracial Black queer person (noticed recently she's operating with she/they pronouns, playing in the gender sandbox, and good for them) who is clearly always working so hard to better their world and be a voice for the various minority groups she inhabits, and I feel like I'm just constantly seeing people be awful to and about them. Like, constantly finding excuses to set her aside, or send her the worst messages in the world, and I'm just like. Let this person live, for the love of Christ. The inability to not take unearned ownership of someone else's journey is...insane to me, but I feel like I see it constantly with her. So to have Taissa be this incredibly complex Black woman who is not always likeable, not soft and sweet and constantly striving for other people's approval--yeah, I'm not surprised the fandom ignores her. Furious! Always furious about it! But not surprised.

Van, too, gets set aside an awful lot, and that's obviously not about racism (although the interracial couple aspect is there). I think people are...so volatile about Van in ways that will never make sense to me. Half the time people are calling her a villain, the other half they're calling her boring, and in both cases, those people are just not watching the same show I am. Liv's performance is so nuanced and so carefully escalated, and Lauren is following suit; there is so much going on with this character, with Taissa's character, with their growth together and apart, and...yeah, I dunno, man. I think it's a lot of what Tai says onscreen in season one. They're not what people expect, or what people want them to be, so they get written off as "boring" or less appealing than the noncanon ships. Some of it is the racism, some is the complicated nature of gender and Van's butch qualities, and none of it makes sense to me because those aspects are so much of what I love about Taivan as a ship. Like. They are so real, so multifaceted, so good and so toxic for one another at the same time, and they are played by 3/4ths (at least, I don't know Ambrose's life) openly, proudly queer actors. DUDE. For me, that's the fucking dream.

THAT SAID. My other thought is a lot simpler. And that's just: what happens in canon belongs to the writers, and we get to share it. What happens in fanon belongs solely to fandom. The fanon interpretations of characters can be worlds away from the actuality of those characters onscreen, and I think there's a freedom there that a lot of people really love. Subtext has been the bread and butter of queer audiences for so long that I think a lot of viewers just naturally feel more comfortable in that space, reading between lines and making up the necessary filler as they go. It doesn't hurt that a lot of these characters are white and/or conventionally attractive, but I think it's more to do with...not needing to put the canon of it all at the forefront. Like I love Jackie/Shauna, I love Lottie/Nat, I live for Shauna/Lottie--but they're all subtextual relationships, to various degrees, and so I can just sort of...do whatever with them in stories, so long as I'm feeling the characters out. I personally have a preference for writing fic as close as I can to existing character profile/voice, but that's not for everyone, and I've noticed a lot of the fanon-born ships are...not simpler, necessarily, but simplified. Which, in turn, makes them more palatable. I dunno. I get it! I do. But I will never understand throwing aside the canon queer ship in favor of subtext. That just...ain't my bag.

And then I guess there's a third, less prominent idea of like. Who's the main character of the show? If you had to boil it all down, it's Shauna. She's the POV character, if we have one, from the start. So not only do you have the freedom of fan interpretation, but she's front and center a lot of the time just by the nature of the narrative. And then Natalie is probably the next "main" character, so...that speaks for a lot of the louder ships, I suppose. I'd really love to see more attention on Taissa for the same reason, since she's been at the front from the beginning, but...see above, i guess.

I'm someone who's intersex and isn't public about it and people have jumped down my throat about using the h-word for my theriotype. Even tho books on it use the word. And even tho I'm someone who would be 'allowed' to reclaim it (ty SO much o magnumonious Tumblr gods for deciding what slurs used against me I'm allowed to take away from my oppressors omg /s /j). I think that a lot of the people who are against it ever being used for nonhuman animals and who are attacking other people in the alth community about it are looking for an excuse to be bullies. Even if theyre intersex too their preferences about a word that affects both of us don't supercede mine just because they're bigger and louder assholes about it. Anyways thanks for dealing with this tsunami of shit. This is why I'm not public about my stuff because people love to use it to beat me over the head with but it's been cool to see the (nice) conversations that have come up for all this. The new terms are cool and I'm happy they were brought up but with how people treat me with the h-word I think I'm going to keep it. It feels sometimes whenever this topic in alth spaces comes up like I'm being told it can only ever be used as a weapon. That I have to roll over and take it as a beating stick and nothing else. I hate that. I hate that its being used the same way by some of the angrier replies and anons! Thank you for your input, I do appreciate it - and it definitely solidifies my “I’m still not going to get on other people’s asses about it if they choose to continue using the word even if I personally will likely go on to primarily use cosexual instead” position, because yeah, you have a really good point - no one should be obligated to disclose personal medical information to be “allowed” to use the word in its non-slur zoological meaning. (And, to be honest, that is part of the reason I’m not swearing it off completely - otherwise it kind of becomes a tacit admission of that personal information, if we agree that intersex people are the only people “allowed” to use it that way.)

I’m sorry people have harassed you about this in the past and I hope that it happens less (or better yet, stops happening) in the future. For Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu:

you've got the founder of the fantasy ancient Chinese CIA and the leader of what is essentially the mafia and then they're soulmates and in love. they're both willing to kill anyone who dares hurt the other while also just wanting a soft domestic life together

Zhou Zishu is an assassin and spymaster who put the current Emperor on the throne, and then quit his job by faking his death (kinda, hes still dying but not as fast as he was supposed to). Had done A Lot on his old job, including murdering children (more than one, and at least one of them in a way I can't even describe without several trigger warnings), exterminating whole families, war crimes (and i dont mean this in a buzzword way, i mean "organized a public execution of foreign diplomats during war time")… btw he doesn't feel particularly bad about any of this, because he believes it was necessary. Like he wouldn't do it for fun, but he thinks the ends (putting a good Emperor on the throne) justified the means (all of the atrocities). As a retiree, he definitely cut down on the amount of morally reprehensible murder, but not murder in general. He still routinely kills ppl, he just doesn't go out of his way to kill more. Wen Kexing, meanwhile, is the Ghost Valley Master - Ghost Valley being a place where the worst of criminals are exiled. Even in such a place, he has reputation as a complete lunatic, owed partially to the fact that he either skinned a man or fed him his own flesh or both at one point, and partially to him having a rule where he would kill anyone who came closer than 3 meters to him. But in truth, everything he'd done was to survive the Ghost Valley and eventually take revenge for his parents, who were brutally murdered when he was only nine. By the start of the novel's timeline, he put his plan in motion - the plan that would drown jianghu in blood, but also deliver poetic justice to all responsible for his parents' deaths, as well as all who'd commit the same crime given the chance. And these two men, these two murderers and schemers, meet - and unexpectedly, find in each other the person who /understands/. The person who is just as ruthless and whose hands are just as bloody, but also the person who knows standing at the top of the world is not worth it, who seeks the same freedom of leaving it all behind, and who is still, underneath it all, a human, with human heart seeking connection. So you have this couple who understand each other with barely a word, and who want the same things - who are so hungry for domesticity and for people they can just goof around with when all their lives they had to measure every step and word - but ALSO where one half a couple is like "i gotta go murder hundreds in revenge" and the other half is like "ok pick you up at 6". (This btw is why I'm submitting novel's iteration of the couple in particular. Show wenzhou with their ridiculous breakups over morality could Never.) Also they were both hiding who they are when they first met, and later flirted about having figured each other out. Finally, I'll leave you my favorite quote that just. perfectly sums up their relationship: "And just like that, they fell asleep in each other's arms, steeped in the smell of blood."

You’ve probably already had submissions for them but I’ll add on. One of them founded an assassin’s guild and killed a staggering number of people. His malewife is the leader of a sect of insane murderous outcasts, and he attained his position by proving to be the most crazy and murder happy of them all. Most of the plot involves him wandering around watching his schemes get more people killed. Together they adopt a kid that was only orphaned due to said scheming (oops). They’re terrible and I love them.

i feel really selfish saying this, but i really wish there were more general trans movies with characters who aren't trans women. like, i'm really glad that they're there and there should be more, but on the other hand, its kinda all thats there? obviously there ARE movies like this, but 9 times out of 10 when there's a recommendation to go see a trans movie, its either a trans women or a character heavily implied to be a trans women there. and i'm really glad those movies are there! but i'd just wish there could be a big discussion about movie and there would be a trans man or a nonbinary person representing the community.

I think what you're forgetting, anon, is that while trans women are depicted badly in a lot of places - less so over the years, people mainly reference things from the previous century - there's still way more positive transfem rep than there is of anything for transmascs, and that doesn't mean transfems have it better, but as always hyper-visibility and invisibility are two sides of the same coin. It's okay for invisibility to not feel good. There should indeed be more media about transmascs.

Now I'm finally doing that. This year I made my first ever hand sewn cosplay. There are definitely mistakes, but it's pretty sturdy and I can't express the sheer sense of pride I got from wearing something I sewed myself. There are some things I wanna tweak on it, like I must have made a mistake when measuring the waistband because it's WAY too thick. But it's functional, it's accurate, and it even has a zipper! It was expensive because of course for my first ever sewing project I picked a character with a pleated skirt (you need 3x your waist in fabric and im fat which definitely adds up lmao, plus i got the fabric custom printed from a print-on-demand company) and the pleats took forever to do. But I'm so so so proud of it. I'm looking into armor crafting with EVA foam for a future cosplay, and it's intimidating but I'm really excited at the idea of working with it. I've seen so many amazing armor sets and props made with EVA foam and I can't wait to make my own. I'm thinking I'm gonna cosplay Maple from BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, So I'll Max Out My Defense.. Then again, that might be jumping off straight into the deep end again like I did for the last cosplay since she has a GIANT shield. At least I'm sticking to her main outfit, not the one with giant angel wings lmao. I may have watched several videos on wing crafting but even I'm not brazen (or stupid) enough to try making those for only my second real cosplay lmao. My opinions are a lot more nuanced than most takes on 'shipcourse' that ive seen, but I've gathered that im generally included when people say 'proshippers dni' based on how people define it in said dnis. I'm not gonna purposefully interact with someone who obviously doesn't want me there. But that makes it frustratingly difficult to find people to follow who also believe in things like transandrophobia. It happens all too often that I find someone with great takes and go to follow them, then see that they have a dni that includes me. It especially sucks when all the other things in the dni are things like "racist" and "transphobic". I'm sorry, but I just can't see having a nuanced opinion on fiction as being on the same level as being a bigot towards others. It sucks to be put on the same level as actively hateful people because I have concerns about the normalization of censorship. I believe that when you open the doors to censoring media because of morals, you set the groundwork for things like the Hays Code. Censorship has always been disproportionately used to silence marginalized groups. I just can't get behind that, no matter how 'noble' the intentions behind it might be.

If it helps any, I'm also what one would call a pro-shipper but find the word itself beneath my dignity because I think it's ridiculous it's an argument in the first place.

the riddle ship trifecta...

i enjoy them bc i think riddle really needs a calm presence in his life that makes him feel like he can act in ways he never had the freedom to do before, without feeling judged or made fun of. whether that is acting childish and silly or just expressing emotion freely. he's obviously really sensitive to being teased so he needs someone who is ok with that and just finds joy in his joy.

i relate to this a lot bc i myself am a very sensitive person, and get emotional really easy but im also very cynical and dry, so i think ppl see that contrast and find it funny. which is fine, but i get hurt or annoyed really easily by teasing bc i think what i really want is for someone to see how easily i get emotional (like crying at almost every movie i watch) and rather than seeing it as smth weird and funny, they recognize my empathy as something good. i want someone to see the value and worth in my emotions, no matter how trivial they seem.

and i think riddle needs that too. deuce isnt super smart but i think he's really earnest and riddle would appreciate that about him. he shows a lot of self awareness in recognizing how his past actions hurt his mom, and realizing he needs to be proactive if he wants to be a better person. very few ppl are willing to admit when they are the problem. he's just a very soft guy, but like, passionately soft. he wants so bad to be good. and i think he would want so badly for riddle to be happy, it would become really important to him just like his mom's happiness.

malleus is super honest about his intentions, which i think riddle needs bc his lack of social skills leave him anxious. he probably would get too frustrated having to play games and guess feelings. malleus just has a super calming presence and riddle needs that so bad. i think they are both pretty awkward bc of their upbringing so maybe they could find comfort in each other, knowing there's no judgement.

azul is none of these things lol 😂 i do NOT think these 2 would be a perfect healthy couple but i enjoy their dynamic. riddle is sensitive ofc but hes also super smart which is why i like the thought of them together. the two top students, not really in a competitive way, more like they recognize each other's weaknesses but also highly respect each other. to the point that they wouldnt ever make a move against the other. i could see them having a more loving relationship but in my mind they are more like a power couple lmao. like two powerhouses joining forces. i do think seeing riddle trying to overcome his own trauma and be a nicer person could inspire azul to do smth similar, realizing that if he likes and respects riddle, there must be some value in kindness without reward.

none of these would be canon in the AT au unfortunately, at least not in my mind (you can do whatever you like with it tho, it also doesnt mean i wont still talk/draw about it). there would definitely still be interactions among them with plenty of room for interpretation. obviously the most between deuce and riddle bc they are both HL.

i could see an episode where riddle recruits deuce to help him repair one of the elephant guardians (since deuce is good at repairing stuff) and they become closer. bc deuce used to get up to a lot of trouble he also has a lot knowledge of some of the rougher parts of the kingdom (im referring to deuces former crew as the spoiled fruit gang) and probably accompanies riddle when he needs to go there. riddle might sometimes go to deuce for advice on his relationship w his mother, since deuce is close w his mom. it would be cute if deuces mom came to really adore riddle and gave him a lot of the experiences he didnt get w his own mother.

So I only just finished sotr and I'm still mulling it over and my opinions might change but. While overall I liked it I honestly disliked how so many of the characters were chosen for the purposes of making you go "omg I know that person !! I know that name !!!" and to tie up "loose ends" that didnt need tying up.

idk. On one hand i guess it emphasised the themes of generational trauma and the cycle of violence and resistance (and the fact that resistance is smth that had to be attempted again and again before working) but idk ! It also felt like it shrank the world and made it more ?? insular ?? by really deemphasising the breadth of people who were hurt by the Games and Capitol, as well as the breadth of people who engaged in resistance over time. In a book that so easily could have expanded that it instead felt like it didnt want any thread loose or backstory unexpanded, to its detriment. While it certainly fleshed certain characters out more, I think having different characters altogether in certain roles would have fleshed the world out more -- as well as the sense of how many people were impacted by the Capitol and engaged in resistance. It was like it had to line everything and everyone up with something mentioned and given closure to in the original trilogy.

Beyond the way the character choice sort of felt like it shrank everything more than expanded, I just feel like having left (and created !!) more loose ends in general would honestly have emphasised things more. In particular it would have really echoed the way the Capitol works: the way ppl are silenced and disappeared and stories are rewritten and erased, the brutality of it all. I think having stories you never find out everything about and characters you never learn what happened to wouldnt act as loose end so much as a sort of. intentional gaping wound. that would really speak to the broader themes and message. They even sort of gave some level of closure to what happened to Lucy Grey and tbh I think it was better without that !! (you can argue it wasn't definitive, but idk I still didnt like it) It felt like the closest they got to leaving something unresolved was with Lou Lou. and that was good !! That was a good choice !!! We DONT know who her parents or family was or what they did to defy the Capitol. We dont know which body was in Luella's coffin, and what they did with the other body. And it was better for it !!! ON THE WHOLE, I THINK Cas, for his part, would get along pretty decently with John, and he'd try his best to keep the peace. After all, despite John's complicatedness, this is a father who Sam and Dean BOTH love. Cas would inintally try his best to steer clear, kinda like he tried to steer clear with Mary.

BUT I do think that if John came back while Mary was alive, I think we'd likely see an unfridging of a lot of the positive, hopeful elements we saw in younger John. (He's like Sam in some ways! He's like Dean in other ways!)

That said, I think there's the potential for Cas to have to react to John picking at and cornering him, and I think Cas would try his best to "gray-rock" John like how he does with Lucifer. Cas, after all, tends to tolerate hot-and-cold people pretty darn well (Dean, Meg, Uriel, Lucifer, etc.)

Cas would do okay with that at first because he neither wants nor cares about John's approval. But I think the game of "testing" would eventually go too far, and it would end when Cas snaps at John or does a big show of inhuman strength. AFTER THAT... like how Sam's loss of temper engendered respect... so too does this get Cas on John's GOOD side.

And I think Cas would actually like the acknowledgement of his strength/capabilities if John were to give it TBH. Cas rarely has ppl who take his side OR give his efforts verbal credit, and John would be quick to commiserate with Cas as a "fellow soldier," especially if Cas happened to "be in the doghouse" for anything...

I think where we'd see the biggest schism between Cas and John is on the battlefield, where I can imagine Cas putting John in his place quite succinctly if he sees something he disagrees with.

And as far as Cas's blunt way of speaking, I just KNOW that Cas could and would hurt John's feelings, even if John tried to hide it. ((SEE: Cas hurt ARTHUR FUCKING KETCH'S feelings with his judgey disapproval of the way Ketch handles the mission in 14x09 LMFAO.))

ASIDE// If we're talking extended daddy issues, though, I'm obsessed with the comment tag I got that Cas winds up liking Samuel C. better than John, and Samuel C. also likes Cas better than John, and both of those things John insane.

ANYWAY, in short, I think Cas and John kinda get along, because Cas gets a lot of the "impossible situations" and the "holding up protectorship burdens."

And there's also the familiarity that probably feels disarmingly comforting because there are GOOD parts of John that remind Cas of Sam AND Dean.

Plus, it's important to remember that Cas gives a LOOOOT of leeway to humans when they're "bad/evil." I won't say he woobifies them, but he kinda sorta definitely a little bit does do that. (Even human Metatron, who friggin' KILLED Dean FFS.) Cas tends to see "human evil" thru a more pitiable lens, and I think John would definitely get the full benefit of Cas's "giving humans a pass."

(Especially since John's a crybaby. Cas is weak to that.)

ANYWAY, as far as getting along goes, this is also what I think would happy with Benny and Sam, if you care. Benny's personality is a lot harsher in canon than fanon, though fanon gives him something of a syrupy tone, I feel like Benny is more like Sam than even John is in a LOT of key ways, and I get the impression Benny'd get along with Sam like a house on fire eventually, maybe even better than Dean does.

Definitely liked it!! Definitely looking forward to part 2 already lol that was a crazy way to end it off!!!!

Really really enjoyed Ras and Arin’s dynamic here!! Probably my favorite bit. They both really annoy each other it’s so fun haha. Also I feel like I’ve really gotten to know Ras more as a person this season, especially with the whole “the ninja didn’t save your family or mine” thing he said in that one episode. Man is clearly hurting and I feel for him 😔

And I wonder how Sora joining them will affect that dynamic….. hopefully more teasing Ras lmao. Even though he pushes back every now and then, there are points where you can tell Arin gets kinda pissed off but doesn’t really say anything, but Sora will definitely push back harder than Arin. She’s literally only there for her friend, she’s not onboard w/ Ras at all. It’ll be interesting to see for sure.

Was not expecting Frak and Sora to be a thing lmao though it definitely seems one sided on Frak’s part. I think the balance they did there was good; you can see why he might like her, but it’s not an overbearing part of his character or anything.

And of course a bunch of people who we thought were dead are not in fact dead lmao. Arins parents and Master Wu…. Although I’m a little skeptical in wu’s case. It could be that he has in fact died but just… didn’t go to the spectral lands for whatever reason. Y’know like, cuz he’s all weird and knowledgeable and wise and stuff and might know a way to avoid doing that. Maybe. Idk.

The smile on my face whenever they talked about oni and dragons and first realm lore…. Yesssss….. a lot of lore drops this season; I can see other ppl not being into it but I’m not gonna lie it’s totally my thing. Exposit to meeeeee pleaseee I like it thank you

So Thunderfang like… created the forbidden five? I think he might’ve said/implied something similar at the beginning of the season, but at the end there, when all the souls are being released, the fives’ souls just go back into his mouth or whatever. So like… their souls are his?? If he did make them, was that like, part of his plan to become a source dragon? Or something else???

Also I think it’s really funny that thunderfang just like. Eats ppls souls. Like nom nom.

On that note I can’t believe he just sucked up my boy Morro. At this point I can’t say for certain if he’s sucked up for good; given that this seems to be a set up for the next season part, I’m leaning towards no?? And like, in the next part the ninja will defeat thunderfang in the afterlife somehow(?) thereby releasing his soul once more??? Now that I’m thinking abt it how does this make any sense how is a soul eating other souls…… what………

Also that was the perfect direction to take Morro’s character like mwah. Awesome. I will admit seeing the leaked images of him had me a little worried cuz I thought he looked kinda weird (especially the glowy effect), but I think it looks better within the environment, and having everything actually moving onscreen. It’s fine. RIP hair streak tho you will be missed.

Also PIXALLLLL HIIIII she was so cool in every scene she was in it was great hiiiiii hey girl. Her redesign is also not that bad in my opinion; again, like, when you place her in an environment with lighting and stuff it’s way more flattering than the stiff render they use to sell toys. It is fine.

And I guess Jay is back too. Hooray or whatever idc (no no I liked what they did with him it was good. I’m joking. Mostly)

They didn’t introduce a lot of new, major characters in this one, and all the “new” characters we did get were at least characters we already knew about beforehand. Makes it feel like the writers have hit their stride a bit more with the world they’ve made, I guess? Even with all the stuff going on and jumping from scene to scene, we’re like, “solidly” in the world now. Like we’ve exited the “introducing all the new stuff” phase and entering “we’re here now” phase if that makes any sort of sense.

I think there might’ve been… slightly less attention given to the og ninja in this season part. Everyone on the main cast feels like they’re on more equal ground now, which might’ve contributed to that feeling I was just talking about as well.

The tacophy deep dive post

Hello, my name's Ozzy, better known as Vandal or TUV. If u know me from this acc you know my biggest ship and main fixation when it comes to the ii fandom is a crackship involving Taco and Trophy. In the past uh 3 or so years that I've been in the fandom I've gotten got knows how many questions and remarks abt how it makes no sense or that they didn't even know it was a thing. And out of sheer boredom, I decided I'm gonna make a deep dive post abt the ship.

Who are these weird little dudes??

Ur not living under a rock you KNOW who Taco and Trophy are, but here i wanna talk a bit about their personalities.

As we all know, taco is very very fucking smart, she was able to hide her actual personality for an entire season of show. While her motive for her behavior isn't known as of writing this post, we know there's definitely some amount of reason behind it.

She's not above playing dirty or flat out killing people to get what she wants, casualties are just a part of it, they're technically immortal so long Mephone is around anyway. Her morals seem beyond fucked, caring about people supposedly but not being against using them for whatever personal goal she may have.

Despite this, if we know one thing about her its that being reminded of her mistakes and what she has done can very quickly set her off or make her upset.

But the basics, in summary, are that she has little regard for others and how what she does affects them until its too late. She's arrogant, yet smart and tactful which makes her such a threat.

And then there's trophy, who in contrast is a lot stupider in terms of his behavior and motives. Again, we don't know his reasoning behind doing what he does, other than just wanting to be better than others.

He's to put it bluntly, a fucking asshole, just for the sake of why not. Making people do things for him purely because he himself does not want to do it, manipulative in his own way. While actual attempted murder isn't something he would do, he clearly isn't above breaking a few laws if u so much as piss him off like with knife and his doll.

Outside of that/after he was eliminated he seems to have calmed down a bit, he likes photography and probably learned to find something else to do other than antagonize people for funsies.

He of course is arrogant as well, but his lack of motivation to do things himself doesn't make him that big of a threat, especially if the thing he's using against you is just normal to others.

why could they be friends? [How they meet hc I guess]

So why do I think they could get along ? Ngl I'm gonna have to put a bit of headcanons in here but it makes sense I promise.

We all know Trophy likes photography right? Well what place on the ii map :tm: would have great photo potential? The forest.

I imagine that one day, Trophy goes to the forest to take photos and whatnot [a little bit before the episode where lb and tt go back in time I'd say.] As he walks around taking photos of things, he manages to bump into taco after she [embarrassingly] falls out of a tree [mirroring her falling when hit with the gemory] and falls in a bush in-front of him. He'd be a bit shocked, cuz what the fuck just happened and wouldn't really respond until she asks if he's just going to keep standing there as she's trying to get unstuck. When he snaps out of it he picks her up to get her out and places her down. Taco, having watched the show closely, knows who he is and initially wanted to use him alongside Microphone until remembering he was eliminated and therefore would be a little bit useless. He meanwhile starts asking who she is, irritating her a lot as she did NOT get shamed on show for people to not know who she is.

The two don't actually bond in this first interaction, that comes a few days or so later when Trophy, again, finds her in the forest. This time he basically just asks her if she can find cool places he can take photos of, which does annoy her a bit but if it means he'll go away sure. This repeats a few times until she, reluctantly, gets attached.

Other stuff ig is i think they could bond over their past mistakes, a bit far fetched but hey, a boy can dream.

Their sins and whatnot

Lets talk abt their sins and what they could bond over in that regard

Taco: killed a few people, manipulation, trying to steal money, probably kidnapping with mepad

Trophy: bullying, blackmail, manipulation

I also think its interesting to note that the people they hurt have a bond with one another. Knife and pickle are buddies, Knife and Mic are buddies and we know Mic cut the bs and pointed out her behavior towards Pickle, its likely those 2 are going to become friends as well. their victims realistically can bond over these experiences.

The people they hurt and the influence they have could play into their conversations. While Trophy has done way less, he still hurt people. Them being able to bond over the past, the things they did and how to handle that guilt would be sweet.

Justin has confirmed Taco can fit in his head[like the cup part], largely why i tend to draw her just...in there.

i hc both were extremely ''trapped'' during their childhoods. Taco was babied to hell and back while Trophy was expected to be perfect, causing their respective ways of lashing out. A lack of freedom in both.

This is more an observation but Taco is so fucking short lmfao she can just be grabbed

based on drawings two friends made, i think they'd commit crimes together.

i think Trophy would sneak Taco into the hotel at one point AFTER ii ends to ensure she doesn't have to stay outside all the time.

And thats all for now, folks. So what was i really trying to do with this? well mostly just...rant, i miss being able to talk abt ii2. I might edit this post a bit later, to add more stuff, fix wording, answer questions etc. Tacophy means a lot to me as a ship, even if the only footing it stands on is built out of popsicle sticks and tape. Rarepairs are fun, i've had the occasional person yell at me for shipping this but honestly, its never stopped me. I love seeing people kind of warm up to the idea, even if just showing interest in the dynamic.

1. Eunkwang

2. Changsub

3. Sungjae

4. Minhyuk

5. Peniel + Hyunsik

Eunkwang: He's such a sweetheart, such a gentleman and just an overall upstanding guy. I remember when Changsub's sister said she was in love with him, and that he's an ideal guy (like a person that grows on you by how nicely he treats you). He's definitely husband material.

Changsub: he's Goofy as hell but still knows how to reel it in at the right times. Cares deeply for others, worries a lot about the ppl he loves. Although he may hide behind humor a lot, his truth gets revealed through his jokes. He gives tsundere vibes. Like the type of person to tease you and pock fun at your appearance, but you catch him admiring you when he thinks you're not looking.

Sungjae: I think he's pretty Goofy as well, but his humor is for helping bring up the mood or make others feel better. He could be a bit of an attention seeker, though, so sometimes his jabs can be at others' expense when he wants the spotlight to be on him. Like the kind of guy to poke fun at his friends when a girl he likes is around. (Which I find annoying when ppl do this)

Minhyuk: He also is a nice person and cares for others but only at his own security. If his life is not going well, he focuses on himself and everybody else don't exist/matter (which isn't exactly a bad thing but I think he doesn't have a good balance of giving love to others while giving love to himself). I'm basically saying he's selfish and self-centered. He probably finds it hard to put himself in other ppl's shoes.

Peniel + Hyunsik: The negative things I sense from both of them are similar to the other, so I placed them together at the end. Hyunsik is a guy who is quite moody and sensitive. One day, you get his best. The next, you get his worst. He gives off pervert vibes (not in a creepy/bad way), but he may sexualize ppl too much. He can be a bit unstable and too detached at one point then too involved at another point.

Now, for Peniel, he is quite strange to me. He seems very detached from his emotions and mentally out of it ( it could be bc of his Moon in Libra, but he may literally mentally check out whenever and wherever). A guy who doesn't listen well and isn't paying attention most of the time. He seems chronically forgetful too, like someone who would forget important events/dates, and it can really hurt others' feelings.

Edit: Actually, I think Minhyuk is higher than Sungjae. His energy is a bit better.
